-=-=-=-=-=- Background:
Mi’Dre the Gaav or Lesser Host Devil, stands charged with Blasphemy (by merely existing), Desecration, and Murder, all accomplished, more or less in the one go. Sent to the material plane to collect on a minor contract with a young Diabolist Mi’Dre has not been long in Talingarde; mere weeks. In that time however he has grown to despise the place and would like nothing more than the opportunity to tear it’s cities and churches to the ground and watch it all burn.
Of course he couldn’t quite hope to accomplish such a thing on his own-a fact which he was vary aware of, lacking the support of his fellow kind as he was accustomed to-he nevertheless did his best, discovering that the Diabolist had apparently experienced a change of heart, and renounced his wicked ways in an attempt to shelter behind the armored flank of Iomedae. Of course such an attempt was pointless, Mi'Dre had seen the man's contract, but mortals could be so foolish at times... Forced to result to subtlety Mi’Dre watched the young acolyte and the goings on of the temple, patiently waiting for weeks, assessing and looking for his opportunity. It wasn't so hard; the temple was well defended, but not so well that a sneaky, flying demon couldn't bypass it's defenses. He struck at night, sneaking into the Acolyte’s chamber and without pomp or ceremony, slew him. His mission complete he decided to enjoy himself, and set about having his fun, which of course ended up with him in the current situation. He hadn’t quite finished his art piece when the temple began to awaken. When they found the desecrated statue the holy men of the temple didn’t much seem to appreciate Mi’Dre’s work with the acolyte’s blood and intestines. As he tried to flee, the stout warriors of Iomedae shot him, damaging his wings, and leaving the spiteful devil crawling across the floor, smearing a trail of viscera and gore. By then escape really was futile, and the warriors closed in and conciousness fled beneath their shadow. The trial was a blur, Mi'Dre still shocked at the loss of his wings, which had been clipped by the hated priests. It was only as he was being moved from his temple cell in cuffs and chains that it sunk in what his fate was to be... Personality/Motivation:
Ever since he was formed from the mindless lemure Mi’Dre has sought to improve his station. Full of spite and jealousy he yearns to one day descend to Malebolge, the Sixth level of Hell and there wage endless war at the bidding of Moloch as one of the Archdevil’s elite Cornugon. To that end he accepted the seemingly simple task of traveling to Talingarde, center of good to slay a diabolist who was pathetically attempting to get out a contract. He thought it a tad strange-Hell normally more than happy to patiently wait out the proper fulfillment of a contract-but it seemed they wanted the man's soul now, so it was given to him the task of releasing said soul to it’s contractual destination. After his capture he has only been able to brood on his fate, and the circumstances leading up to it, leaving him wondering what was so special about the not even middle aged man whose murder and subsequent desecration, landed him in his current circumstances. |
