Hey everyone,
I am sorry for my absence, I have posted on the recuitment thread and now I have found this one.
While skimming it, I noticed that Alehesia had to back out recently. Would this mean that there may be a spot open for me once more? I realize that I may have damaged my reputation as a reliable poster but now that the move is over and my internet is back up and running, I should have no issues posting 1/day minimum.
Let me know what you think Monkeygod?
Either way, I hope you all have a great campaign!

Just put up my cohort in the profile, just needs items and should be done. If I am lucky he will be set at the end of tonight.
@Otm-Shank
I have just moved myself and am still in the process so I know how it can be. I learned a long time ago that I cant live without net so I got me a little thick credit card looking device that gives me wireless net. Learn from my wisdom and welcome back online. ;)

Hey I am just a purveyor of all things portable, having a ship simply means that alot more things are portable. ;)
Anyways I have a crew to feed and we only plunder on the side, not my fault guildies and stuck up landlubbers don't hire us til they find out ships aren't safe in the open waters without "experienced" sailors like us doing the work. Same goes on land with those caravans, they should know better. XD

Avlar wrote:Meh I do not really like pirate games. High sea if we go like Sindbad traveling all over the place would be nice.um...Simbad is a pirate. ;-), but I get your meaning. Boat travel is what I was refering to much more than plunder and pilage.
The modern Sindbad is shown as a pirate the original was just a traveler that got lucky. I meant that version.

So, as you all know, I've been tasked with looking over people's builds to see where they might have made errors of one kind or another; you may also be aware that I am looking for both overbuilding and underbuilding, so you can benefit as well as lose out from this. :)
This will be happening slowly, as checking complex, high level builds takes some time, so I will do it piecemeal.
One thing I noticed tonight -- Adinauf, for both yourself and your cohort, you have a number of Knowledge skills listed as having bonuses equal to base Intelligence, I also noticed this was true for Linguistics for your cohort; this is not strictly speaking possible (unless you have a special ability that allows it, which I may have missed), as they are among the skills that cannot be used untrained -- if you do not have at least one rank in them, you cannot make a roll at all. They shouldn't be equal to Intelligence bonus, just N/A.
For the reference of all who might not have known this, skills which cannot be used untrained are: Disable Device, Handle Animal, all Knowledge skills, Linguistics, Profession, Sleight of Hand, Spellcraft, and Use Magic Device.
Some very specific class abilities may allow some characters to use certain of these skills untrained, such as Bardic Knowledge.

Avlar -- under your BAB, you've actually listed your BAB + Strength bonus; this is a minor point and I'm quite sure you understand the difference, but a separate listing for BAB and BAB+Str would be preferable, as your attack bonuses will change for Dex-based ranged attacks, what feats you can take are based on BAB rather than BAB+Str, etc. Thanks!

For Adin he has a feat (one of his three background feats) that lets him use all his knowledge skills without needing to have a rank in them, it also gives him a bonus to all knowledge skills. As for his cohort I have them up because he may take ranks in one or more later and I would rather not have to type it in the right spot if I dont have to. But I can get rid of them if its confusing.

Breadth of knowledge. Me too. ;-)

Adinauf --
Breadth of Experience, got it, good. Is there a reason they're at +13 rather than +10, though? Even with Breadth of Experience, you won't get your class ability bonus in them unless you have at least one rank in the skill.
I would prefer you removed those skills from the cohort, yes, just to prevent confusion. Sorry about that.
Couple other minor questions about the build:
1) Is there a reason you have 5 cantrips a day rather than 4? The extra arcane or elemental school spell-per-level does not apply to cantrips ... is there another reason?
2) Followers (as opposed to cohorts) are normally given levels in NPC classes rather than PC classes -- are the PC class levels something you cleared with Monkeygod? If not, check with him to make sure that's OK or if you need to give them NPC classes.
Other than that, things look good.

Meredian --
Minor stuff -- "Hand of the Mage" should be "Hand of the Apprentice" (Hand of the Mage is something different.) "Breadth of Knowledge" should be "Breadth of Experience". I know you know what they are and what they do, but it matters if the GM's need to look something up quickly.
By my count, you should have one more language than you have listed. Might I recommend Common? :) Especially since Drow do not get it without specifically taking it.

No problem, done.
1)Sorry habit from 3e.
2)Will send Monkeygod an e-mail, did it for flavor more then anything. I don't like seeing only numbers, had to stop myself from giving them names and stats XD

I *love* names and details for followers. You don't have to stat them all out, but as a GM, stuff I can use like that is great. I just wanted to make sure that if it ever came up, they had the right abilities per Monkeygod's game specs.
Pinky |
Pinky, I'm getting a higher number than you are for your CMD.
I get:
10, +8 (BAB), +0 (Str), +4 (Dex), -2 (Size), +4 (Deflection), +1 (Dodge), +6 (class AC/CMD bonus), [+4 vs. trip only]
= 31/35 vs trip rather than 21/25 vs. trip
I'm also getting 24 rather than 23 for your flat-footed AC.
Ya know, it would be a good thing if I could remember to update all of my defenses when I update my AC, he he.
OK fixed.

Adin lives and is setting sail, if he makes it to his location is yet to be known. Man I really hate Cheliaxians, who they worship is their business but butting into the affairs of the sea's is just not right. Would love to sink me a few of their ships. XD
Edit-Prelude is done for Adin.

Remind me never to go to an award ceremony or gameshow run by Meredian.
On the other hand, that is pretty much in keeping with what I imagine Drow gameshows are like. ("Welcome, folks, to Symptom Six of BEAT THE REAPER! Our weekly show where contestants have just ten seconds to work out what disease we've injected them with and tell us exactly what they have contracted!")

--The Book of Magic is Nethys holy text. Page 71, The Thousand Fangs Below.
--Eyes of the Shadow Eagle- Just like the normal one but protects him from his light weakness too.
