High Servant of Volcano |

So it's on my mind, and I may as well give everyone a chance to think about it. No rush. If it stresses you out to think about it right now, just let it sit until Sunday or Monday when things (hopefully) settle down. Since tone is impossible to convey - this is not coming from a place of anger or disappointment. I am amazed at the story we have made together over the past two years.
--In the Home and Hearth campaign ("the brain washed townies"), I could tell things were headed for a downward spiral when more than half the group couldn't post more than once or twice a week (sometimes not even that)
--Rather than drag the thing along until it died an ignominious death, I think I did an okay job tying up everyone's stories and also giving them some implied future direction.
--I'm not necessarily saying that's what we're going to do here. However, my concern grows when I've seen inconsistent posting for 2-3 weeks. I know this has to do with work, injuries, sickness, life, etc - again, this is not blame, I'm trying to approach it from a neutral "what is best for the game and for us" point of view.
So, here are some thoughts:
1) In terms of everyone's life difficulties - are they improving in the short term?
2) If not, would taking a hiatus until the holidays are over help? So, start back up again in January?
3) Please be honest if neither of these solutions will work. I'm willing to hear other ideas as well.
No actions yet, just thoughts - and if I'm totally off base, I need to hear that too (you all know very, very well I am as prone to mistakes as any other DM)

Ibinu Kemish |

1) Doing fine. I'm posting regularly in my other games and am not even gm'ing right now. I'll have a day or two over the holidays I can't post but other than that I can keep up. My delays lately have been due to just forgetting to come back and post when I need to.
2) Hiatus is fine, I'll come back for this for sure.
3) I'm having no issues at all with character motivation or future plans, I'm looking forward to the next level and the next challenge.

Inam Smithrock |

And since we're heading into a little down time, here's a fun little RP question:
What does you character want most, right at this moment?
Selfish Desire: To figure out why her family is being punished. Perhaps end the curse/punishment.
Believed Ordained Desire: Ensure Hearth remains safe and find a better way to fuel the war effort without sacrificing to the Cauldron Lady again.
1a) I have 4 games ending this week. (I think this last gameday online convention caused me to realize my game limit...forcefully - I will not be picking up that kind of load again.)
1b) I have continued work issues, but I finally have someone hired to help take the load off of me. Just need a week or two to get her trained. I have a teenage daughter that and a preteen daughter... So yes and no. lol.
1c) My brother is expecting his first child in the next couple weeks sometime. When that happens, I'll gladly advise you if it adds to issues.
1 Conclusions: As for posting capabilities, I foresee myself being able to post regularly again very soon (Possibly as early as next week).
2) Hiatus would be ok with me. I would most definitely be interest in returning to this game. It is still one of my favorite campaigns.
3) I very much wish to see where this crusade (for lack of a better term) leads us. Can Inam manage to save the town without losing herself? :-P

Kallik Sisa |

I am awake hours earlier than I should be so I have a chance to check my games. Just so you know this is the first one that I am checking. Anyways I appear to have some questions to answer.
1) I am a beacon for drama and still having some depressive issues but that does seem to be getting a little better. My family and I are working on that. I may be a little overstretched in the games I am in but that is something I did to myself. And I think one is over and two of them are very slow so it seems to be working out.
2) I am not opposed to a hiatus but I do not need one either. But if we decide to take one I am perfectly happy to return.
I have constantly been entertained by what has been happening in this game and it is the one I babble about to my friends the most. Love, war, and glorious drama. I honestly want to finish this game more than any other adventure I am playing in. If I had to only keep one game it would be this one. I would be really sad about the Cthulu one but I am so much more invested in this one.
I am sorry for the dramatic drop in my posting in the last few months. I hit a depressive spiral. Fighting with family, struggling with issues at work, financial issues, injuries, failure at grief management, and just being melancholy. But my house has had a few discussions and I am beginning to see the light, that hopefully isn't a train. So I think things are going to improve. I am not further out of the depressive pit I have been wallowing in.
So I should be picking back up after this weekend.

Lava cake, right?

Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

I am being told that I get to stab something while we play the floor is lava. I am really tired from work so I am not sure if I read the gameplay and it made sense to me. Currently the floor is lava.

Been without internet most of the weekend due to an issue in my area. :-(
Backup now but will be morning before I get a chance to post.

Ibinu has a good point about your HP Kallik - buried in the house rules somewhere, you should be getting at least half your hit die per level (so 4 minimum for levels 2 - 6). I calculated it, and to get 36 HP you pretty much had to roll terribly and take the minimum for every single level :) It's possible that happened, but best to confirm.
And do you remember - have you been using your favored class bonus for skill points, HP, or something else? Because that would make a difference too.

Ibinu Kemish |

Looking at Kallik's sheet, it looks mostly right. It appears she is using her favored class bonus for an extra skill point every level. 2 base + 1 favored + 2 int = 5/lvl which is what is showing on her sheet.
However, she only has 20 ranks showing as used and should have 30 total (5x6=30) to use (remember the 6 in crafting are freebies).
The HP is very close to what her sheet says of 5/lvl + con (6x6=36), except she forgot to take the max hit dice (8 instead of 5) at lvl 1 which would give her 3 more for 39.
So it looks like 10 more ranks for her skills OR (if GM allows) use 6 of those for 6 more HP.

Kallik Sisa |

my math skills are always astounding to me. And yeah skill points are always my vote. I will correct things on my sheet once I find the mouse to my computer. Using only the touch screen is always a disaster. Things get erased.

Ibinu Kemish |

Muahahahah, I'm having fun playing this out. :P

Speaking of which, re-posting the spoilered truths here (but only look at your own!) so it's easier to find them and share them in Gameplay.
If they look a little different, I cleaned up the not-so-great meter in some of them, but the gist is the same.
The Dark is a dead god, but it is not Sky
killed by Volcano, who was jealous, green-eyed.
Your land's darkblood danger began when She died,
and Sky, Her one lover, bid the old world goodbye.
---
There's more to the revelation than just a poem, but in short you see Volcano blasting some shining god-figure, too bright to be seen properly. He or She vaporizes into ash, muck, and rot, raining down upon the Land. It is unclear if Sky or Volcano is the one that protects the land from this foul precipitation, but Sky dies as well.
You also see elens, though a strange kind you have never beheld before, being warped into dark husks and fleeing Volcano's light, heading for the Dark.
From Him false inquisitors asked for a boon
A laughing-trick god, makes all dance to his tune
On a whim helped Volcano blast the world into ruin
Do beware His true name, do not speak it - 'tis Moon
---
There's more to the revelation than just a poem, but in short you see a god-figure of pale, translucent skin and crater-eyes making a deal with the Cauldron Lady. This had something to do with the Dark. Something went wrong with the deal, and now Moon is trapped in our land, bereft of most of His powers. You catch brief glimpses of inquisitors like So Khong and Ky La infiltrating the Temple over many painstaking years.
You get two final impressions -
The first is that your golden dragon-magic will be particularly effective fighting Moon.
The second is that Moon has one last plot for Hearth hatching in the Mithril Makers.
Inam
Though true you have foiled one of His plans
The Smiler has many quick fingers and hands
He'll still need pious Hearth wiped from the land
He'll ill use the the Makers, a bitter flame fanned
Etrah finds the truth in his mind altered
The Lady will make one true bargain, indeed
A champ'ion she craves, a new plan to succeed
Hold onto him; and with your humble light lead
Friend out of the darkness - else many will bleed

I am nearing the ending of my illness and apparently that my post mentioning that was eaten. Lovely.
Also wow! Some things happened in gameplay. Some really big things! That was interesting to read.

Ibinu Kemish |

One or two things, nothing really major though. :P

Ibinu Kemish |

Testing to see if servers are down, I haven’t seen Any posts on them since Friday.
Edit: Apparently everyone else was as busy as me yesterday too, lol!

Kallik Sisa |

I am not gonna be able look back and I have honestly specifically forgotten what Kallik spoke with Dove about. And my search foo is weak. Was it the el she killed in a blood poisoning blood craze on the street?
I wanna assume it is that but I will delay responding to Dove until I am told if I am good or bad player.

High Servant of Volcano |

Sorry about that - I should have been more specific - I saw you mention the blood poison in your previous post and I thought it was on your mind.
Yep, you told Dove (a reaaaly long real-life time ago) that you wanted him to "judge" you for your crime of cold-blood killing that ifrit that attacked you and robbed you in the past.
(and you are always a good player)

Ibinu Kemish |

WHO'S A GOOD PLAYER!?! IS IT KALLIK? IS IT?!? YES IT IS!!! :P
Meanwhile, in game. Ibinu is more than willing to have a wonderful discussion about his new alliance. He's just currently following his in game interest of taking a nap. Any are welcome to wake him up if such a thing is wished for at this point, or you all can take your time and stage a nice intervention. :D

High Servant of Volcano |

Kallik,
a) we can wrap up the Dove conversation if you had anything else you wanted to say (probably take it to PM if you wanted to get deeper into the "how will justice be served?" deal)
and b) let me know if there was anything else you wanted to do before "tomorrow" happens, since if I recall correctly you don't actually have to sleep. Just let me know.

The player is always cool to have a conversation though in Kallik's case Dove makes her uncomfortable. So this conversation can come to a close and sweet Lui can go get a nap in. I may have plans for when I am all alone in my awakeness, but that is for after I have had some of the precious sleep. Keep watch would be on or near the top of the list of spells I would love to be real. Sleep takes far to much time.

Inam Smithrock |

Sorry, for my delay. Was a busy day today and ran out of time.
I should get a post up in the morning, though there's a big meeting first thing so it may be late morning.

Ibinu Kemish |

Omg woot woot!!!!

High Servant of Volcano |

I'll throw this in here as well:
--While you are leveling, assign a +2 enhancement bonus to both a physical and mental stat of your choice. Feel free to RP this as studying religious texts to make you more wise ; a gift from the gods (voluntary or otherwise) ; alchemical discoveries ; strength from a weapon, etc

Inam Smithrock |

Sure! Just days after you get kallik squared away make her change it all again. :-P
Seriously though....YIPPEE! Hmm...gonna have to think on this a moment.
