Helgash has no drawn weapon as of yet, and proceedes moving forward, urged by the shouts from within - "Please, this is surely a misunderstanding - allow me to take a look at your friend, perhaps he can still be saved from this horrible mistake"

Helgash moves to the fallen man, and tries to assess his condition, if he arrives there without being attacked.

Heal: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

:/

Helgash you see the body of the fallen guard move. Hoping that he can be saved you move closer. A y do you realize that it is the web strands connected to him the other struggling guards that caused the man to move.

The tiefling does not hesitate, and lays one hand on the fallen man, if not to bring him back to consciousness, at least to make sure he is stable.

Lay on Hands: 1d6 ⇒ 4

I guess my Heal is telling me nothing(as expected with that crappy roll) - but my OOC math tells me he can't be already dead :D

--Status--
Lay on Hands remaining (4/5)

Gabryjel grins fiercely at Helgash's move.

Sweet! The tiefling's got 'em hoodwinked for sure... when they think he's on their side they'll never expect another shot!

As he watches Helgash bluff the guards, he takes another shot from his stealthed position at a new target.

Attack at a -2 for range -
1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 8 - 2 = 19

If it hits the prone target next to Helgash -
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

He glances at Helgash and gives him a nod.

Nice move kid! Way to bluff 'em!

Gabe, who are you shooting at? The guy I just healed? I got a little confused because in one place it says 'he takes another shot from his stealthed position at a new target', which I assume is a different from the one you shot before? Then it says 'If it hits the prone target next to Helgash'

Also... Wouldn't you have noticed that Helgash cast a spell on the guy?

I would have hit the next target near you. In this case, I assume that the guys who are tied up in webbing are considered prone, though sometimes I'm not sure.

Gabrjyel isn't much of a caster, and has little knowledge of magic. I suppose it's possible that I'd notice it, but you're also 80 feet away, so I don't know.

To be honest, Gabryjel's been itching for some trouble since he got all sorts of crap dumped on him when he walked into the bar, which is unusual, because we all know that no one starts something epic in an RPG by walking into a bar... ;)

Gabe, I think he's more shocked that you're still shooting them while he's trying to heal them... I don't think he meant to bluff anyone, he's really trying not to kill them, while the rest of us want them all neutralized. At least that's my understanding of the situation.

Webbing does not cause them to fall prone. Everyone but 1 is in the webbing and thus benefitting from cover or improved cover. Gabe please tell me which guard, 1-6, you are firing at.

Helgash, you are just outside of the webs and can not LoH the guard yet. Next round with a succussful DC 17 reflex save you can reach him.

Male Elf Magus 2 (AC: 16,12,14; HP: 20; Saves 4,2,3; Init +2, perc +2)

Variel hurries forward with Helgash until here is adjacent to him. Calling upon his ability to cast spells he creates an invisible force barrier protecting him from any attacks by the guards. No weapon is in his hands at the moment as me tries to assess the situation.

Venja, I think you’re right about him trying to save the guards for some reason; though at this point they’re the same scum who’s connected to the White Witch via her “muscle” as far as I can tell. I’d drop these bums like a bad habit, if I’m able to, that is.

Also, I know they’re not prone; but I assumed that if they were formally entangled with webbing that they’d probably be very, very easy to hit.

Also, it is not possible for me to believe or accept that a person who is enshrouded with thick webs like a cocoon would somehow benefit from any sort of protection whatsoever at all. I’ve fired too many bows in real life to believe that a person bound by anything would be harder to hit than a guy who is able to dodge about because he’s free to do so.

Variel – at this point I don’t know which guy is which via the 1-6. I know that there are 6 guys. One of them got dropped with the arrow and Helgash is trying to heal him. I’d pick the guy closest to Helgash that he isn’t trying to heal.

At this stage Gabryjel would rather kill the enemies of his new pal Hatch and his reasonable acquaintance Nayda.

However, lest everyone think I’m being one of those guys who puts social RP above the team, let me offer my opinions from an “out of game” perspective. Specifically; I’m guessing that if my shots hit the targets that the enemy’ll drop to negative (as I recall that the GM Variel allows the NPC’s to go to negative HP equaling Con – like he did at that cabin when he took over). In other words, this means that if they go down at all, unless my damage would be equal to their Con Negative (I’m assuming their Con to be anywhere from 10-14, with a minimum of 10 – so I’d need to at least do 18 points of damage with one shot to kill them outright – assuming they have d8 HP at maximum with a negative Con Modifier of 10 minimum, though somehow I’m betting it’s higher). But that’s unlikely. That said, I drop them to negative, Helgash can move forward to stabilize them with magic as needed, but his power shouldn’t be able to revive them, only stabilize them. That said, the next thing you know we got 2 guys unconscious (leaving 33% of their company out of commission and them without even taking a shot). This means that the rest of them have to decide if they want to continue this dance, or head for the hills – or, in other words, it should positively impact an Intimidate Check to get them to listen to whatever the Paladin wants to tell them.

Xanxan continues to try to slip in to help.

Let me know if I need to roll another stealth

Xanxan you manage to hustle p to the webbing as well but can't quite make it into the house with your slower speed. Next round, round 3 you will be able to make it inside providing you make the DC 17 reflex save.

With the presence of Helgash and Variel up front as well the webbing and being shot they have not noticed your approach yet. It pays to be small and well trained in staying out of sight.

Once I have Gabe's target determined and Venja and Beck's round two actions I will do the recap. Being to bed and hopefully will be able to update then in the morning. Night.

Beck can charge 60 ft. and i'd moved up 20 the previous round. Are there any enemies within range of that charge? and is Helgash in range of getting torched if I light up the Web spell?

Did the guy advance out of the webbing enough for me to club the guy that told us to drop our weapons?
club attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 7 + 2 - 1 = 28 2h attack and AC16 due to buckler

confirmation: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (15) + 7 + 2 - 1 = 23
for 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

I forgot that Beck had Alter Self-ed and got a +2 to str so i 2hand my club. -1 to AC and +2 to damage
Both Rounds Sheelah is moving in. Is this difficult terrain due to snow, or does she move at her full 40 ft/round? can i roll for her attack too?

Meh - I guess I'll go for guy number 1, then.

Seeing all hell break loose around him, Helgash tries to calm things down - "Friends! Please! A chance to parley!" - he shouts out to his companions, then turning to the guards within the webbing - "You cannot win, nor escape - stand down! I will heal your companion, and we can still part ways without shedding any more blood"

I am always in doubt regarding these situations - I already rolled Diplomacy before. I shouldn't need to roll again for every sentence, right? :D

Diplomacy in case I should: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19

Male Gnome Rogue-4 (Saves-F+2,R+8,W+1; Perception +9(10 vs traps);HP 21/27)

I better roll that save now so you don't end up waiting on me
Reflex save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Helgash, you see a couple of the caught guards start to listen to you. You feel that you have their attention and would have been able to resolve the guards outside in a peacable fashion. That chance is gone as they look up and see the one guard who managed to escape the webbing get hit by an arrow and bashed with a club. The guard drops from both of the successful attacks by Gabe and Beck.

Shelah is right by Beck's side and read to pounce on any foes that she is directed at.

Currently only the guards are caught in the webbing so lighting it on fire would not damage the group.

Int check DC: 12:

Starting the webs on fire would have a good chance of starting the house on fire as well.

"STOP attacking!" - Helgash stands shouting to his companions, then moving towards the fallen man, immediately healing him.

Lay on Hands: 1d6 ⇒ 2

After he has stabilized the man, he stands up again, in front of the web, arms open and outstretched - "They will leave in peace!" - he adds, looking over his shoulder at the men trapped in the web.

Still waiting on Venja's action for round 2 and then will have the guards take thier turn. If I don't get it inthe next hour I will bot her and update over my lunch hour. Helgash if you want to change your action after you see the guards reaction that will be fine.

Shaking his head, Helgash stays back focusing on his powers, on the one hand his gaze falls on the men they are fighting, scrutinizing them, and on the other he sends a breath of life towards Beck.

Then he turns to the guards - "I will not attack you, but will defend my companions from your assault. Stand down, and there will be one last chance to parley" - the tiefling insists with sadness.

Top of Round 3
Xanxan moves up tot he web and tries to enter finding himself stuck within the strands. Variel attempts to free him but is unsuccessful as well. Beck, after receiving a hard hit by the guard unleashes his own vicious blow dropping his opponent into a heap. Luckily for the man the club was aimed at the solar plexus and only knocked the wind from him instead of killing the guard. Venaj moves up to heal Beck restoring him to full health. GAbe meanwhile continues to fire into the guards drawing blood each time.

Helgash:

Your detection reveals nothing about these guards. You are pretty sure that they are too weak to be detected by such means (less than 5 HD). However you are certain that by the words spoken by guard 5 he is evil. The rest you don't now for sure. You do feel uncomfortable in attacking the webbed guards though as they have done nothing overt.

CMB 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Variel is apparently very inept and should have stayed with Aneira.

Does Helgash remember if there is a backdoor to Nadya's home? If so, he dashes around the house to get inside, while drawing his weapon. If not, could he remember a window that has not been covered by the webbing - if he does, he will dash over there then. If none of the above:

Drawing his weapon, Helgash shakes his head - even though more reassured that they are doing the right thing, he still feels that this could have been a terrible mistake.

"Stand down and surrender" - he urges their foes - "Drop your weapons, and you will be spared" - he finishes, moving in on the closest enemy, and trying to hit him with a non-lethal attack.

for 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 non-lethal

while Sheelah attacks, if the man still stands with a

Claw: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (9) + 4 - 1 = 12

Claw: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 4 - 1 = 21
for 1d4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 2 = 8

So that's 9 non-lethal, and if that doesn't drop him, 8 lethal, which totals 17 damage

Gabryjel will hold action until he sees the status of the men after Beck and Sheelah attack - who's standing and who isn't.

Once I know more, he'll act.

Beck continues to channel his inner hatred of the unnatural cold and takes it out on the guards before him. Is cudg-ing a word? His club hits solidly again to the body driving the wind out but not hard enough to break the man's ribs. Sheelah follows up with a crippling claw swipe raking the man while he is trying to draw breath. The combine attacks are too much for him and he goes down in a heap but still breathing.

Only guard 2 and guard 3 remain with guard 3 still stuck in the webbing.

I agree Venja but regardless the attack still hits guard 2 just no threat.

Gabe takes a moment to line up his shot against the last remaining standing bandit out of the web. The shot is true and on target but not as deadly as Gabe would have liked.
