Gabryjel scratches his chin absently.

"Well, that's likely true - but it's also possible that it's a really good disguise..." he says slowly.

"But I reckon I'll give you the benefit of the doubt - for now..." he says after a moment and tentatively shakes his hand.

Shaking the man's hand, Helgash smiles - "I guess you better keep me around then, to make sure I am wearing no such disguise"

This time the tiefling actually laughs instead of simply smiling - "Your friend shows only that he is wise friend Beck - the roads are increasingly dangerous, and what before could be a simple, and amicable acquaintance, can nowadays prove to be something much more nefast. I don't expect to be measured by friendly words, as actions speak much louder"

As Beck presents some options regarding future actions, Helgash pipes in - "As I said, I was intent on getting to know Waldsby a bit better by travelling its streets during the day today, perhaps taking a drink at the local alehouse. I can accept their suspicious nature regarding strangers, and I am under no agenda to make these people like me, but I would like to understand their reasons for such suspicion a little better. I also need to resupply, so this may be a good opportunity to take care of it all"

Looking at Variel, he adds - "How far will you be travelling? I believe supplies are in order?"

Male Gnome Rogue-4 (Saves-F+2,R+8,W+1; Perception +9(10 vs traps);HP 21/27)

"Mmm... come to think of it, Gabe always did look a bit shifty..." The gnome says with a mock straight face.

Laughing at Xanxan's joke, Helgash seems to be in a surprising good mood - "Very well then, I believe there is some sort of general store in town - Verana's Sundries I believe - I am heading there after the cup of tea that Miss Venja has kindly offered. Making business is always a good way to break the ice. Would you be interested in joining me?"

You guys have anything for sale? Hint, hint :D

Male Elf Magus 2 (AC: 16,12,14; HP: 20; Saves 4,2,3; Init +2, perc +2)

Variel hears the talk of the group heading into town. Although he was just there it was more to peruse the area than to do any shopping. Electing to stay behind to keep his wife company he wishes the group farewell and to be safe.

Coming up to Helgash, Variel extends his hand again, Sorry for the rudeness earlier. Just not too sure around strangers to much but I am working on it. At least trying to. For what it is worth and from what I hear, you sound like a decent enough sort. If the others vouch for you then that will have to be good enough for me. As for supplies, well I hope to talk to Nadya a bit to see if one of her men can take us on the dogs. That would mean only a 2 day trip there if the weather is the same. 10 days of supplies should make it good for there and back for 3 people. If you do go shopping, have Beck take it out of my share. Heck tell him to purchase around 20gp is normal foodstuffs for Nadya to repay what we are using up here and then some.

So who is going shopping, at the tavern, or grave digging? Or is there something else you would like to do in the meantime? Gabe you could purchase supplies to craft arrows if you aren't interested in going out on the town. It is a small village though so there is a limit to what you can sell. Max of 2500gp total in sell value, nothing mundane over 500gp and no magic unless individuals are approached and asked about.

Turning back to the others, he adds - "Have you been around for long? Perhaps you can show me the points of interest in town? If there are any..."

Well... Helgash actually has nothing to sell, but:

"In that case, perhaps I can offer my assistance in selling your finds? I am not a merchant by nature, but I have discovered that sometimes simply speaking straight with others can go a long way in obtaining a fair deal"

sorry, just assumed the serving and drinking of the tea was a 'given', but here goes:

Venja pours the brewed tea for Helgash first, then anyone else who wants a cup, and her own last... if there's any to be had, she'll offer sugar or honey and milk, from her own rations if necessary - she doesn't want to deplete all of Nadya's supplies.

She takes a sip of her tea and makes a little face of surprise when it proves a bit too hot. She adds a bit more milk to cool it down. "Ah, that's better. So nice to have a hot drink on a cold day."

When the tea is gone, and everyone who wants some has had a chance to finish theirs, she takes a moment to clean up, washing the cups and saucers.

She dons her shawl and scarf. "Shall we go shopping then?" she asks, looking to Helgash, and anyone else who wants to go along. "Oh, my Helgash, your help dealing with the merchants would be most welcome. As I said, I'm no merchant either but people do tend to respond well to me if I'm careful with my manner and my words."

Helgash wrote:
"In that case, perhaps I can offer my assistance in selling your finds? I am not a merchant by nature, but I have discovered that sometimes simply speaking straight with others can go a long way in obtaining a fair deal"

Gabryjel looks at Helgash thoughtfully for a moment.

"I don't know - not much to it; this is sorta a one horse town, if you know what I mean? I can make better mundane gear than what most of this place carries," he says with a flat voice.

"As for a "Fair Deal" - if they don't know the meaning of a good deal, well... we could just make 'em an offer they can't refuse," he adds with a vicious smile.

Then he sighs and shakes his head, thinking a bit.

"But as for business? That's all well and good, but as of now we got a thing that needs getting done - I got no beef with them that wants to pitch in and help, but you got to know up front, it ain't a walk in the park, you know?" he says to Helgash.

"We got some bad business ahead of us and it's likely to get a man dead sooner rather than later with little promise of reward."

"If you're alright with that, I ain't going to complain if you want to tag along, but fair warning - we got dark skies ahead of us is all," he adds with a nod.

"I'll come with ya'll, if you want - for now I don't think it's a safe plan to split up."

His eyes narrow thoughtfully and he turns to Venja.

"Hey - I got a thing needs answering; if you're right on the hunch on why Miss Whitestorm's sick and all... how'd you suspect the thing we got laid on us will effect any that's in her belly? Is a babe bound to a blood oath taken by the mother? I mean, they share the same blood, so wouldn't such a bond be binding on them; same as if certain spells were laid on a mother - don't some of them effect her offspring to the seventh generation?" he asks with genuine curiosity.

Despite Gabryjel's usual charm and upbeat attitude, it seems as if he's generally concerned about the metamagic bond that might have inadvertently been formed between child and the Rider when the oath was taken... but Gabryjel is no student of the principles of magical law and properties - even so, he is clearly as concerned about the idea of having a baby on such a quest as he is about having any other small, defenseless animal.

Male Gnome Rogue-4 (Saves-F+2,R+8,W+1; Perception +9(10 vs traps);HP 21/27)

"Well, if folks tell me what they want that we have, I'll help haggle." The gnome offers, "As for Gabe's concerns for the possible mother, let's hope not."

Helgash thanks Venja for the cup of tea, downing it in a heartbeat - "So, if I understand correctly, this homestesad belongs to a local inhabitant? And she - this Nadya? - has allowed you to stay here? It would seem not everyone is so wary of strangers in Waldsby - it is good to know"

He nods at Gabryjel words as he gathers his gear, acknowledging, and seemingly agreeing with most of his perspective, even smiling at the hint of making them 'an offer they can't refuse'

However, and as the man begins detailing 'things that need getting done', the tiefling starts focusing more his attention on his words, actually stopping dead on his tracks momentarily, the smile gone from his face, eyes gleaming with a fierce intensity - "The 'thing' you had laid on you?" - he questions - "A 'blood oath'?" - he stares at the companions, his breath seemingly suspended - "Would you tell me more of this?"

Helgash wrote:

Gabryjel's hand drops to rest leisurely on the haft of his ax as he regards the Tiefling with a neutral expression.

"Hmmm.... Oh, not much to tell, I reckon... To give you the full details; well, we just got to do a thing for a guy from back home, on account of the fact that we said we would do it to help him out, you know?" he says, pouring on the information as thick as possible to this relatively unknown person in front of him - especially given Gabryjel's massive success in being subtle in the past.

"Not much more to it than that, I reckon," he says with a nod.

Meanwhile, Gabryjel seems to have an almost expressionless gaze when he studies the Tiefling's intense stare.

"Out of curiosity, why're you so interested in our business?" he says cocking his head to the side as he watches the Tiefling in front of him.

Then, sensing the need for strict diplomacy with this potential assassin/bounty-hunter (who could very well be in disguise) that stands in front of him, he elects to muster his full range of Diplomatic Skills in a prosaic and somewhat flowery speech -

"Uhh... no offense," he says with a small nod.

Gabryjel seems confident that his last statement has naturally diffused any potential complication with succinct ease and waits for others to offer their own opinions as he continues to study the warrior in front of him; very curious as to why this Tiefling is so interested in their business...

Male Gnome Rogue-4 (Saves-F+2,R+8,W+1; Perception +9(10 vs traps);HP 21/27)

The gnome answers Helgash in a whirl of words,"Oh sure, there was a winter knight, not a night, though it may have been at night... it's all a blur. Anyway, he was dying on a mission unlikely, and needed others to carry on as he was about to be carrion. So he told us all how he worked for Baba Yaga, and how one of her kinfolk was being a mite unruly or some such. He asked us to take up the vow of saving Baba and helping her out. Me, I said I might help but I wasn't going to swear. I've been told swearing is impolite and besides, I'm not crazy about wearing cuffs on the wrist that I didn't size for myself. Others were less nervous and plunged in and I suppose they got some very nice things for it."

Woops. Cross post "Or what Gabe just said."

Xanxan Gimblewabe wrote:
"Or what Gabe just said."

Gabryjel turns a smile so brittle on Xanxan that it would crack ice.

"Well... that's one way of saying it, I reckon," he says to the gnome with a voice that is drier than kindling.

He turns back to Helgash, his face seeming to be struggling with a smile.

"But in any case; the point is - how come you're so curious on what it is we need doing? I mean, be it dark and stormy knights, or be it folk like whoever Xanxan just mentioned... what's was that name again? Hell, I can't remember names worth it damn..."

He ponders the name a moment, trying to recall it.

"Yeah... I think the name was actually Bożena Yaropolk, or wait - no! I remember it clear - it was Bogna Koschei... yeah, that sounds right, I think... ah, who the hell can remember names, you know? Hell, if a guy's got more than one bleeding syllable in his name nobody can seem to remember dick, and they have to give him some poxing nickname on account of the fact that names are just too damn hard to remember."

He grins a little crookedly, watching the warrior very carefully after the speech.

"But you know what I mean... name's can be tricky; and sometimes details are hard to remember until you have all the facts, you know?" he says with a friendly nod.

"Hell, chief - it's nothing personal, you know - just business..." he says, electing to really pour on the diplomatic skills at his disposal at this time.

It at this point that Beck falls over.

While he was busy stuffing his face and refilling his plate at the same time with various scraps and sundries, he took a moment to glance at Helgash, squints and collaps into a heap, giggling his hornes off. Those who know him from Hedren have of course seen him do so before, laughing at some private joke and may even find it surprising that he is even able to ask "Got you too eh Helgash? Poor Xan tho, was covered in the gunk... HAHAHAHAHA. Oh it's just too much... What are the odds? Terrible is what! No no no, um. . ."

Beck gets back up and gives a sheepish grin, "did it again, I did. Put my hoof in my mouth. Don't mean ta be rude, helgash."

"I..." - the tiefling seems to hesitate, again leaning his weapon against a wall, and sitting down once more, as if some enormous load was weighing him down.

Staring into nothingness for a few moments, his face totally drained of the usual joy you had seen so far, it shows a mask of confusion, or perhaps pain - "I had already heard Whitestorm hinting at it, and it shook me to the core that it could be the case... He spoke earlier about 'the black rider's quest and criteria' and I suspected we could very well be in the face of one of the most surprising coincidences possible" - he shakes his head - "But I don't believe in coincidences, and I feel we are looking at something much bigger than that" - he stares at Gabryjel with a somber look.

"I too have met the black rider, or at least one of the Black Riders, as he identified himself - one of Baba Yaga's protectors - I met him far away from here to the south, in the most dire of circumstances"

He looks to the floor - "Me and Talian - my master, teacher and friend - met him in a dark hole. He had been beset upon, and captured by a dreadful witch - she had been torturing him for some reason that he was almost unable to relay to us. He was barely coherent and could not speak, but I could hear his thoughts in my head, about a plot to bring some sort of Eternal Winter to the whole of Golarion, a devious plan brought about by Baba Yaga's own daughter - Elvanna - that somehow was preventing her return, and that such was the reason he, one of her heralds, had set out to understand what was afoot"

He manages to look up from the floor boards, and at the group again - "He told us that both him and his two brothers had been frantically looking for answers, each on their own - he knew not if they had accomplished anything, but he understood that he had failed, and it seemed to pain him endlessly" - the tiefling's eyes seem to fill up with tears, but he holds them back, gritting his teeth - "He offered us a pledge, which Talian immediately accepted, and so did I... We could not keep him alive, my master's powers completely depleted and my own barely a budding inspiration - I could do nothing! Not for him, and not for Talian... She succumbed to foul witchery in that foul hole, shortly after the herald had turned to dust - her soul had been poisoned you see? An insidious curse festered in her, while the witch kept us trapped in her dark, damp cave complex... My friend died in darkness... In the same place the Goddess decided to lay her hand on my shoulder" - he again shakes his head

"It matters not - it is in the past" - he stands up staring at Gabryjel - "That is the reason behind my questions - I feel that somehow, through Iomedae's will, we are on the same path, bound by a similar pledge to protect the lands we call home, and maybe many others. As I said, I do not believe in coicidences - I believe there is a reason why we have set ourselves in this path - our decisions seem to have brought us together, as I have been travelling in a straight line to the North, ever since... Ever since I returned Talian's body to the Church for her deserved deliverance into the Goddess arms"

His face still stern, he asks - "Am I correct in my assumptions? Is this the reason why you are here, and is this the black rider and oath you have been hinting at?"

In surprise, Venja almost drops the cup she is washing at Helgash's words. His story so seems to echo their own, except for the loss of his sister, as they lost no one when they met the black rider. She turns to face him, setting down the now-clean cup. Taking the tiefling's words at face value, since he seems so much in earnest, she speaks.

"I am so sorry for your loss, 'Gash. But yes, it sounds like we are on the same road, via almost identical oaths. It seems these Black Riders may have all had the ability to lay a powerful geas on those who would agree to finish their quests. I would think your goddess led you to us, or it would indeed seem simply fortuitous that we have met."

"Our paths have converged with a purpose, and how can we refuse but to accept our conjoined fates. I welcome you most heartily to our little band. I hope the others agree." She looks pointedly at Gabe, who has seemed so suspicious until now.

Male Elf Magus 2 (AC: 16,12,14; HP: 20; Saves 4,2,3; Init +2, perc +2)

Indeed, it would seem that we are fated to be together in purpose. What that means for the future I do not know, but once Aneira is safe then I plan to find out. We might have a long road before us if we truly are destined. It makes you wonder what tomorrow will bring. For me, it will bring a bit of long, hard travel. For the rest of you, I hope that I will find you safe and sound upon my return. Once back I think that Gabe has the right of it that we need to find out more about this Pale Tower and if there are any answers there.

Nice job everyone with the communication and RP. Keep up the nice posts. For the RP take a bonus +1 to any die roll usable at any time. Whenever you are ready to head into town to any of the locations though let me know. ?Until then I am just enjoying reading the dialogue.

The huge tiefling stands up and nods at Venja - "Thank you for your kind words and welcome Venja - I do not expect any of you to accept me simply because of my tale. But I would ask you for an opportunity to prove that my words and intents are true"

At Variel's words, he concurs - "Agreed Whitestorm, neither of us can predict what the future holds. As far as I am concerned, I prefer walking the path with you all than alone, but I will tread it nonetheless" - he steels his resolution - "And agreed also on Gabryjel's insight - this Pale Tower seems to be worth additional consideration, not only because I have been told that it is perhaps the place to obtain information regarding this cold winter bearing down on all, but also because the people in town seem to speak about it in hushed tones, and that is something that grates on my senses..."

Shaking the ominous tones from the conversation, Helgash adds - "Very well then, I believe you have some wares to trade? Shall we get to it? Seems as good a way as any to start settling around town, and perhaps gather additional information"

I say we start by heading to Verana's Sundries.

"I wonder just how many black riders there are out there? Huh. Ah well. Seems birds of a feather and all that." the gnome gives a sympathetic look to Helgash for his troubles.

When Helgash starts to head to shop, the gnome follows

Venja follows Helgash to the shop as well, hoping one or more of the 'boys' will carry the loot they have for sale.

Gabryjel gives Helgash a sidelong look for a moment.

"Only reason I mentioned the tower is because it's the only place around here that sounds like it's got troops at it."

"This little jerk-water town ain't got nothing of note in it... Hell, it don't even have enough balls to stand up to some guy having a smoke."

He looks like this is supposed to mean something, then sighs and spells it out.

"Look, these people got no balls; that means they need others to do their fighting for them, right?"

"Folk that do fighting don't live here, that's for damn sure, so it means they live at some sort of military place, I reckon."

"That means if we want to deal with them that cause trouble we go to the place that holds the trouble - that means that military place."

He tests his bow for a bit, then sighs.

"We need to go there if we want to find the chief of this place. And when we do that, I say we bloody crucify them, you know?" he says in a matter of fact voice as if torturing someone to death was merely a matter of course.

As he observes the others move to the shop, he pauses and scoops up Snow and places the rabbit on his shoulder for now, at least until they get to the shop.

He isn't planning on robbing Venja of her pal in any way, but he clearly is pleased to enjoy the little rabbit's company while they head to the shop.

Helgash, Venja, Xansan and Gabe all start to head to Verana's Sundries. As they walk through the town they cant help ut notice the looks they are getting from some of the populace. Those that the group has helped manage small timid smiles before turning away in case others notice. Those that haven't been helped directly give the group quick furtive glances before hurrying onward to do something else.

Again, as the previous day, you notice the flash of a cloak of a person rounding a building. The movement of the cloak seems to indicate that the individual is continuing on in the same direction as yourself. There is nothing overt or threatening that you perceive but the second encounter does cause the small hairs at the nape of your neck to stiffen.

Arriving at the store you all head inside. In the front of the store you see a tall woman who forces a smile at you all. Welcome. What can I do for you? I am Madam Verana and this is my shop. Next to her you see what must be her daughter as the resemblance is striking.

Looking around the store you see a decently stocked general store with typical supplies. There is a large amount of cold weather gear, namely tents, snowshoes, and skis. Nothing seems out of place or too extravagant but that is not surprising from what you have experienced in the town thus far.

Behind the counter you notice a large chest with an impressive lock on the front of it.

Venja looks about the shop, blissfully unaware of anything that might be out of place or unusual.

Gabryjel heads out and moves with his companions, keeping an eye out for any trouble.

Perception Check -
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

EDIT -

He notices the chest but doesn't say anything at this time.

A locked chest in a store, to him, isn't worth much of a second glance. Business-folk routinely keep things locked up; it's most likely a strong box or something.

He may mention it later, but for now he's content to just lounge around the shop and let his comrades do the talking.

Short retcon with the people going to the store:

Noticing that some of the people around town actually seem to be cordial towards his companions, even though not overtly, Helgash comments to the others as they head to the store - "I would say that at least you have already made some friends - I can spot some smiles among the crowd"

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 16

Arriving at the shop, Helgash looks all around at the several wares in display, then addresses the woman - "Well met Madam Verana" - he bows - "My name is Helgash, newly arrived in town. Me and my friends have come to your shop to do business, and it seems we are in the right place" - he again nods appreciatively at the merchandise - "We possibly have some material for sale, and some buying of our own to be done - would that be of interest to you?" - he smiles.

On the way:
"Oh one tries to be friendly. I just hope they're not gnomophobes."

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
The gnome glances around as they walk, taking a lot in. But perhaps missing... SOMETHING.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

Once he steps into the store, he's certainly loses focus and starts to check out the coats and winter wear and not just for its winter durability.
Appraise: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

"Some fine things here, ma'am."

Veranda smiles a bit easier with the cordial tone from Helgash and the praise from Xanxan. Indeed, I am always looking for wares to trade for if they are the right type. As for wares for sell, I always have them for customers. Tell me, what is it that you are looking for? Basic supplies such as flour and salt or perhaps winter gear? I don't have much for clothing except some winter clothing. If you are looking for something of a local cut I would recommend going across the street.

Gabryjel grunts at the thought.

"Yeah, we're the bleeding darling's of the land," he says with a somewhat bland voice, confident that anyone smiling at his companions is merely smiling in terror, given the fact that he and his companions are still armed and moving in a loose formation - albeit a casual formation; but still - an armed company moving through the streets is one that will likely draw attention.

Also, with the presence of a rabbit on his shoulder, he can only imagine what the townspeople think of that!

Imagining the town’s reaction to Snow…

He is suddenly startled from his musings by Xanxan.

Xanxan Gimblewabe wrote:

He shakes his head emphatically.

"Nah - that's crazy," he says seriously.

"It's a bloody scientific impossibility to dislike gnomes; you guys are just too damn nice," he says with a somewhat encouraging smile at Xanxan as they continue to mosey down the street.

Venja scowls at Gabe with slight consternation and sighs... she walks over to him and holds out her arms for Snow. The rabbit hops down into her outstretched arms and she collects him, cuddling him gently. Then she sets the rabbit back down on the ground. Snow immediately hops under her skirts and hides there, happy to be out of sight again.

"Gabe, Snow is very shy and frightens easily."

She turns to Verana, smiling. "Your shop is lovely. We do have some weapons and armor for sale. Things we need to buy are varied. I'm not sure of everything we need, to be honest. I'm sure we probably need trail food. And if you've any fresh vegetables, my little friend would like them, even just the waste greens would be good to have, like carrot tops, though he does like the carrots too. And if you've got such a thing, I would like to buy a wand of curing. If we've enough money, that is."

Venja wrote:

Gabryjel looks at her, noting her expression and sigh.

He studies her face for a little while, reading her eyes.

He notes her tone very clearly.

"Oh yeah?" he finally says after a short while.

"Sorry - I didn't think that Snow'd frighten just for sitting on a guy's arm," he says.

He continues to watch Venja and notes how her expression tacks from consternation with someone who risked his life to watch her back for holding her rabbit for a bit.

He notes how she turns into a suddenly warm and friendly manner with a complete stranger and marks the rapid change.

"I guess I figured keeping the little guy out of the cold was a nice gesture; sorry - it won't happen again," he says continuing to watch Venja.

He shrugs.

Lighting a cigarette he studies the shopkeeper for a moment.

"You got anything for a lass that's with child? You know - like maybe something to help with getting sick in the morning, or something like that?"

He casually blows a stream of smoke from his nostrils as he watches the shopkeeper, thinking a moment about Aneira's health.

As he waits for her response, he turns from the shopkeeper to watch Helgahs's courtesy and easy manner, surprised that the lad is willing to include them all under the umbrella of his friendship so soon.

He marks that as well and nods to himself.

Reaching into his pouch he draws out a cheroot and offers it to the Tiefling.

"Fancy a smoke?" he says to the Oracle, trying to be friendly to the newcomer.

Venja turns to Gabe, sighs softly, puts a gentle hand on his arm. "It's not that I mind the gesture, it was kind, but I feel more comfortable with him close, and he feels the same, I can sense it. Besides, he likes the snow... it's in his nature."

She turns back to the shopkeeper, hoping she is still interested in trading, especially after Helgash's brilliant opening with her.

"As my friend here has just stated, there are some items to be sold - perhaps we could start with that? The purchases will depend on the barter we manage amongst ourselves, and our available currency" - Helgash nods, motioning for the items to be produced.

Ok boys and girls, I have just arrived - what is it exactly you want to sell? :D

He strolls into the shop and takes a look ayt the wares.
been a long week and rough weekend, and haven't really been in character, sorryy. Gotta check the loot on both games, and stuff too...

Verana looks at you all trying to figure out who to answer first. Catching something about a pregnancy, she focuses on that thinking that someone may need help and that should take precedence. Well, I got plenty of things for a child to play with to keep them entertained but nothing for herbal remedies. I would recommend you check with Roth at the temple or with Suzanne at the apothecary. She might be able to help you out with what you are looking for.

Turning next to Venja with a slight bow of the head, Why, no madam. We have no interest of weapons or armor here. I would suggest Iziamir Polovar at the blacksmith. He would be more interested in those items than I am. As for the food items I have all of what you are interested in. I keep a modest supply but anything more than a month of supplies and you are out of luck.

With Helgash, What do you have in mind? If you have items other than weapons and armor I will take a look and see what it is I can do with you.

Helgash smiles again at Verana, opening his arms wide - "Well, I was fortunate enough to prepare before heading into the cold" - the cold winter garb and furs quite evident.

"But I am in fact indeed interested in purchasing additional travelling rations to start with" - he procures his currently very light pouch, holding it in one hand casually.

"And without being too intruding, would it also be too much to ask what sights are there to be seen around Waldsby? I have never been this far north, and am definitely curious about the town - after all, I am here, so it makes perfect sense to get to know it a little better, wouldn't you say?"

Not sure if another Diplomacy is needed but:

Oh my... Lets hope not ;)

Gabryjel takes a draw from his smoke and glances between Helgash and Verana, rolling his eyes a bit at the oracle's mediocre attempts to charm the woman.

Still, the tiefling brings up a valid point: what exactly is there to do at this town?

He looks at the two curiously.

"Yeah - I'm down with that. Let's check this place out," he says, curious to know what action this town has.

Mediocre?! Why you little... Try rolling a '2' on your Diplomacy and see what happens - we'll probably be chased out of town with torches and pitchforks :D

Hey, I just react to the situation; it wasn't my fault that the dice gods mock you. It's only my fault for writing a scathing indictment on your terrible roll!

But hey, there's nothing like everyone in a group demonstrating teamwork, right ;)

Verana ponders your question before answering matter of factly. Actually there is not much around for sights to see I am afraid. The nearest thing to s sight or location of interest would be the Pale Tower as it is a wonder of creation made of ice as it is. The forest nearby is always an interesting experience should one want to venture out in the wilderness. For the most part we like a simple life and tend to ourselves. Is there anything business wise I can help you with then?

As she moves back towards her counter her foot bumps the chest. Looking down at it she smile up at you. I actually forgot, I do have a piece of armor for sale if you are interested. she doesnt' open the chest but waits for your answer.

DM Variel wrote:

Gabryjel glances at her thoughtfully.

"That all depends - what type of armor is it? I mean, how can we know if we're interested until we know more about the product?" he says with a small grin.

Taking a key from her belt ouch, she opens the lock on the chest. Inside you can see a set of leather armor along with a belt inside. From what I have been told, I have a set of leather armor that provides just as much protection as a chain shirt. A passing druid sold it to me saying tht he acquired something better a few years back. I haven't found anyone tht was interested in it but perhaps you may be such an individual.

Gabryjel's eyes raise imperceptibly.

"How much you talking?" he says thoughtfully.

"Not for me - but I know a barbarian from Minkai who'd probably dig it... you now, if you're selling..." he says thoughtfully.

Interesting - what is the actual cost? I may buy it...

if you plan on buying the armor it is going to cost you 4160 gp. However I will throw in the month of rations and a healer's kit. What do you think?

The armor is +2 leather btw.

Gabryjel nods at the suggestion.

"Sounds pretty good - I'm probably good to go with it, but can I get back to you after chatting it up with my crew, just to be sure?" he says thoughtfully.

I'm down with it, if I have to do it on loan. As is stands, I don't know how much of a maximum Dexterity Bonus I'd get but having a higher Dexterity Bonus that Leather provides is pretty good.

But I don't know how much coin I got currently to spend, so I got to get back to you in a bit when the rest of them chime in...

But yeah - I'm good with it in spirit, for sure :)
