Excellent, can't wait to get deeper into this campaign!

Hey guys. Sorry I've been gone so long. I went to the hospital on Tuesday and just got out today. I feel really bad about not having sent some sort of notice, but didn't have anything to get online with. I can't guarantee that I'll get anything up tomorrow since I'll have such a long day, but definitely by Tuesday night I should be back in full form.

It's been a busy season at work for me anyway, lot's of college shows.

Do I have a standard order for night watches? I think I had one but it was before Wilford left.

Where's the crew at?

I'm here. Just waiting to be woken up.

Also, Grimmy, did we ever get XP for the fight with the spiders? Just wondering.

Oh yeah, duh. Can't do much while sleeping :D

XP spoiler in campaign tab updated.

Ill link the battle map and roll initiative in the morning, I need to crash for now, long day at work :D

If you guys get here before I'm back you can roll perception to wake up on time for surprise round. DC 20.

I can't get the map to paste into google docs... It just says "trying to connect".

GM Blood? Any idea? I have the map as a .jpg or a .png

OK I got a smaller one to work.

Things just took a bad turn :/

Can Andrek and Ares do any cool magic stuff while paralysed?

I wish I waited for Tarv before having the ghouls go :(

Worried about TPK now :(

Think you guys can turn this jam around?

Something's wonky here I think? What weapon does 1d4+6?

If that was supposed to be 1d6 precision damage from sneak attack, where do you derive the sneak attack? No flanking partner, Jeb had a bow drawn...

Maybe just burn an action point if you want so we can leave the ghoul dead so we don't have to retcon? I hate retcon :)

She wouldn't have to use an action point I'd she makes an acrobatics check to move to flanking with Andrek, right?

Sure, great idea!

FYI you guys are routinely smashing APL+3 encounters by any conservative analysis, I would say.

That one was technically only CR 6 but I think 7 ghouls is a lot scarier then 9 spiders or 9 wolves.

I figure you guys are APL 3. Big size party, bonus feats, but on the other hand, low gear...

My bad, that was in fact supposed to be flanking sneak attack 1d6 not 6, I completely missed that it was jeb I was attempting to flank with, my bad!

No problem!

Great job guys! Now, rest up and heal yourselves again! We have a busy day when the party wakes up. I can feel level 3 fast approaching! Errrr....I mean, "We're so close to the Shrines, I can feel it!"

Hehehehehehehehe....

Ares when you get a chance put up your mini-stat line. (The thing on the profile.)

Ability damage heals naturally at a rate of 1 point per day but I think that means a 24 hour period with 8 hours of good bed rest.

Camping for 4 hours in the wild won't restore any ability damage.

(If there's rules to the contrary point me to them for consideration but that's how we do it in my home game, makes sense to me.)

Male Archer 2 / Falconer 1| 35/35 | Init +3 | Perc +9 | AC:16 Tch:13 FF:13 | Fort +7 Ref +5 Will +3 | CMD:18

That's fine. Just not up to snuff on ability damage rules. Sounds like I'll be a little weak until we get some good rest. But that's okay, I can handle it!

Ok do you know how the ability damage impacts you? They simplified it so you don't have to recalculate your whole sheet. Just take static penalties. For every 2 points of damage, -1 penalty to relevant checks. (for strength damage that's attack, damage, cmb, and strength skills.)

How's everyones availability look the next couple of days? It looks like the adventuring day is set to start off with a bang, and I have monday and wednesday off from work.

EVeryone make sure you know your status, and post any RP for the 8-9AM hour so we can get straight to action tomorow.

Sorry, Edit, Tarv does recover 1 point of strangth damage He already did his watch so he gets a full 8 hours after the fight.

I usually work Monday - Friday 8-4 Pacific time. But i can't post at work since I'm a cook. This week though, I'm off Wednesday and Thursday. So I'll be posting at night and Wednesday is wide open for a post-a-rama!

I'm in school, everyday is a post-a-rama! I'll be sure to pay more attention the next few days.

Good use of the minute Priscilla bought you, maybe ambush the ambushers.

Uh oh. I don't think they believe u guys are just gathering wood.

It's a hailmary and maybe bends the aid another rules a bit but if the rest of you want to roll bluff checks to "act natural" we can use results above ten to boost andreks roll. It's a great ploy and I think it should be given a little leeway for creativity.

Need 3 bluff rolls over 10, tarv, ares, priss, and lucia can attempt.

OK sorry if this is cheezy guys but I'm going to say that bluff check from Ares was enough.

I like to reward creativity, that was a really good plan, you guys should get your surprise round.

Female CN Tiefling(Grimspawn) Unchained Rogue(Chameleon) 1 | HP: 10/10 | AC: 20 (16 Tch, 15 Fl) | CMB: -1, CMD: 14 | F: +2, R: +7, W: +2 | Init: +7 | Perc: +4, SM: +0 | Speed 30ft | Sneak Attack 1d6 | Death Knell SLA 1/1 | Active conditions: None.

WOOOOO

I think its pretty legit, if we treat Ares roll as the roll and Andrek as the aid another, that beats the DC right there.

Ok I know I did that kind of confusingly, I'm a little out of it or something.

The long and short of it is that you let them discover you but act like you have no idea they're coming you. You have surprise round and also won initiative. So I moved them within a single move of the melee guys gathering wood, I'm guessing that's when you would want to spring the trap and turn the tables on them.

So everyone has Surprise Round then a full Round 1 turn before enemy acts at all.

Use it well.

This is probably the toughest daytime encounter I could have possibly rolled on the table. /meta

Grimmy, would I even be able to attack during surprise round? I'm positive I wouldn't have been pretending to gather firewood with my bow in my hands. However, if I can, I'm going to try and skewer them but good.

We for sure need to concentrate attacks for this one. Based on the hint Grimmy gave us, I'm thinking these guys are pretty scary. Do we go for the big guy first or take out the li'ln's before taking on the big boy?

Yeah guys if you want to coordinate out of character go ahead I'm not a stickler for that kind of thing.

Priss, look over the map and choose carefully. All available targets from where you are would have cover against you (+4 AC) and they are outside of the range for precision damage from sneak attack.

Like you guessed, surprise round is only enough time for one standard or one move action.

Drawing the bow is a move.

Of course if you do that you will be free to full-attack on round one which you wouldn't have been able to do without your bow drawn.

Also, Grimmy, do I have vantage on any of them where they wouldn't get cover?

Pretty much every yellow bordered square is difficult terrain and grants partial cover against ranged attacks (+2 AC).

Wherever you see more prominent terrain features in the artwork like individual trees and the rocky outcroppings, that is cover (+4 AC).

The main guy is actually your clearest shot (but still partial cover).
