XP for destruction of the Runewell.

1200/6

200xp Each

New total XP: 2,434

Dead Goblins, Dead Geckos

I am open to want the party wants to do. You all can poke around Sandpoint a bit more or go to Thistletop.

Male Half Elf Magus / level 3 (AC: 15 [T:12 F: 13] [HP: 18/18] Fort: +3 Ref: +3 Will +2 Perc: +4 Init: +2)

I'm also open to which ever. Notick's a treasure trove of Role Play - the right scenario's just have to present themselves to open him up. He's been somewhat quiet and reserved primarily to the company around him - he's used to being surrounded by thugs and cutthroats.

It may be a good idea to see if Sandpoint has any other information (town records, etc...) to the Runelord that was known to be there, so we can better understand the Necromancer's connection/obsession with the Runelord and possibly ascertain her plot.

Dead Goblins, Dead Geckos

Sorry work had been a bit crazy this week. Back at it now.

Male Half Elf Magus / level 3 (AC: 15 [T:12 F: 13] [HP: 18/18] Fort: +3 Ref: +3 Will +2 Perc: +4 Init: +2)

You and I both sir! I was suckered into doing work over night the past week. All my time was dedicated to work and sleep.

I should be back now as well.

Male Human Whiteblade Magus of Iomedae 4 (AC: 14 (18 w/shield) [T: 10 FF: 14 (18)] | HP: 34/34 | F+5, R+0, W+4 | Init: +2 |Perc: +0/+2 with blade drawn)

Just a heads up. Thaddeus will be writing until the two groups finish their own errands. I probably won't have anything to post while they do, so I'm still here, just won't have anything to add until we meet back up.

Female Human [Tian-Min] Bard/Artisan-4

Totally OT Dragon!

Male Human Whiteblade Magus of Iomedae 4 (AC: 14 (18 w/shield) [T: 10 FF: 14 (18)] | HP: 34/34 | F+5, R+0, W+4 | Init: +2 |Perc: +0/+2 with blade drawn)

Time for treasure talk. I will bold the suggestions

DM Valkur, some of this belonged to Ameiko's Father (the gold and silver dust) and the rest her brother. Does she want to claim any of it, or is it all for us?

[Tsuto]
Silver Ring[Ring of Proection +1] Thaddeus (as suggested by Scoria)
Potion [Potion of Cure Light Wounds]
Composite Shortbow (Str +1) [40gp]
20 Arrows [1gp]
masterwork thieves' tools [60gp] anyone with Disable... is there anyone?
Silver Earings [15gp] sell
Masterwork Flute [60gp] sell unless the Bard wants
6 Pouches of Gold dust [180gp total] sell
8 Pouches of Silver dust [24gp total] sell
10pp

[Catacombs]
Scroll of Flaming Sphere (CL 5 -Arcane) On both My and Notick's spell list
Red Scmitar +1 (+1 Fire Damage) Bel'Tanis
Masterwork HandAxe
Sliver Dagger
Scroll of Burning Hands (CL3 -Arcane) On both My and Notick's spell list
Wand of Schocking Grasp On both My and Notick's spell list
Prayer Book of Lamashtu (Need Appraisal) sell
+1 Tiny Cold Iron Returning Dagger sell
Tiara [Need Appraisal] sell
Black Gown [Need Appraisal] sell
Unholy Symbol of Lamashtu (Need Appraisal) sell

Any suggestions on the the marks, or where to put the unmarked stuff?

retired

Notick gets the wand to offset Thaddeus' ring and then you guys can each have one of the scrolls?

Male Half Elf Magus / level 3 (AC: 15 [T:12 F: 13] [HP: 18/18] Fort: +3 Ref: +3 Will +2 Perc: +4 Init: +2)

Seems fair/makes since. Flaming Sphere makes more since for Notick, considering he actually has Burning Hands in his actual repertoire.

Male Human Whiteblade Magus of Iomedae 4 (AC: 14 (18 w/shield) [T: 10 FF: 14 (18)] | HP: 34/34 | F+5, R+0, W+4 | Init: +2 |Perc: +0/+2 with blade drawn)

Okay, I can gel with that... what about all the other stuff?

Any requests for any of it?
Silver dagger
MW handaxe
Comp shortbow: Str +1 (sadly Midori doesn't have the Str for it, or I would say her)

Male Half Elf Magus / level 3 (AC: 15 [T:12 F: 13] [HP: 18/18] Fort: +3 Ref: +3 Will +2 Perc: +4 Init: +2)

Notick will take the stonemason's advice and take the Comp. Shortbow and the arrows for it. It'll give him something to use for ranged.

Female Oread Monk of the Sacred Mountain 4 (AC: 16 (20) [T: 15 F: 14] HP: 38/38 Fort: +7 Ref: +7 Will +8 Perc: +10 Init: +2)

Good on the bow. You might not be able to use spell combat or Spellstrike using it, but you can at least use your arcane pool to give it a boosted enhancement should we need some magical archery.

Also, Midori has Disable Device I believe, so she can use the MW Thieves' Tools. As for the rest, Scoria doesn't particularly want anything from it.

Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric of Gorum (Separatist) 4 / HP 38 of 38 / F+6 R+3 W+7 / AC 19.12.17 / Init. +2 / Perc +4

Agreed. I'll take my share in gold. ;)
Saving up for a magic weapon or something.

Male Human Whiteblade Magus of Iomedae 4 (AC: 14 (18 w/shield) [T: 10 FF: 14 (18)] | HP: 34/34 | F+5, R+0, W+4 | Init: +2 |Perc: +0/+2 with blade drawn)

So, unclaimed for selling, we have:

+1 Tiny Cold Iron Returning Dagger [10302gp (sells for 5151gp)]
Silver Earrings [15gp]
Masterwork Flute [60gp]
6 Pouches of Gold dust [180gp total]
8 Pouches of Silver dust [24gp total]
10pp
Masterwork Hand Axe [306gp (sells for 153gp)
Silver Dagger [22gp (sells for 11gp)] Which I think we should maybe hold on to just in case

Total 5694 gp [or 813 gp each (816 gp to group loot)
with the 10% mentioned before 6253.4 gp [or 893 gp each (895.4 to group loot)]
(since we don't get a bonus 10% on the 10pp, it was added to the totals afterwards)
Again, these aren't final totals, just a glimpse of what we're looking at so far (so don't add this to your sheet just yet).

Prayer Book of Lamashtu (Need Appraisal)
Tiara [Need Appraisal]
Black Gown [Need Appraisal]
Unholy Symbol of Lamashtu (Need Appraisal)

For the appraisal of the unappraised items.
Scoria, Bel'Tanis, and Khrondak each have +0 untrained
Midori has a +2 untrained
Notick and I both have a +3 untrained

How do you want to do this? You roll for whoever has the highest, or we each roll for ourselves?

For the buying and selling, I think we can mostly gloss over the RP portion of it unless you (DM Valkur) think it could provide some worthwhile RP

Female Oread Monk of the Sacred Mountain 4 (AC: 16 (20) [T: 15 F: 14] HP: 38/38 Fort: +7 Ref: +7 Will +8 Perc: +10 Init: +2)

We don't have to RP the shopping trip, no. Though I'm aware that the shops won't have everything we need or want.

Things that Scoria is going to want:

- Potions of Mage Armor (2 at least): 100gp
- Light Crossbow with 10 bolts: 36gp
- MW Temple Sword (Silvered if possible): 420gp
- 20 additional Shuriken: 8gp
- Flasks of Alchemist's Fire (2 at least): 40gp

Total cost: 604gp (293gp left of share)

Please tell me if anything on this list is unavailable for purchase. Also, for the group, who thinks we should use the group fund to get a wand of CLW? If there's one available at any rate.

retired

A wand of CLW is an ideal use of the party funds, Scoria. I think that's a great idea.

It is a crying shame that dagger is tiny! It's nice for a spike of cash in our coffers, but that would have been sweet if any of us could have used it effectively.

---

Re: silver dagger
I agree we should hang on to it. More ways to beat DR are better than an extra bit of gps.

Dead Goblins, Dead Geckos

Scoria, I believe all of those items would be available in Sandpoint. Except maybe the Temple Sword? Where can I find the stats for that?

Does anybody else need anything?

I'll start Thistletop on Wednesday, to give everybody to time to finalize preparations.

retired

Would Ameiko be willing to fence the unappraised items? Are we alright with selling Lamashtan ritualistic items and artifacts (in the religious sense, not the op magic item sense) though?

Male Human Whiteblade Magus of Iomedae 4 (AC: 14 (18 w/shield) [T: 10 FF: 14 (18)] | HP: 34/34 | F+5, R+0, W+4 | Init: +2 |Perc: +0/+2 with blade drawn)

What Bel'Tanis said. I was going to wait until we got a total for the not yet appraised items before I split it out to all (also why I said don't spend it yet, it may change).

DM-Valkur wrote:

A temple sword is a traditional monk weapon - it has the same stats as a longsword (1d8 slashing damage, 19-20/x2 crit range) but can be used in a flurry of blows and as a trip weapon, so it's an exotic weapon. Most monks are proficient in its use, and I would think if there was one in Sandpoint to be had it would be available at the House of Blue Stones.

You can find it in the Advanced Player's Guide, or here.

Dead Goblins, Dead Geckos

@Scoria,I should have known to check the Pathfinder OCG. But yes, House of Blue Stones is where you could find one.

Ameiko can appraise the the items that need appraisal. Though I think she would find it distasteful in buying it. However Notick's Uncle would have no objections to buying it.

Female Oread Monk of the Sacred Mountain 4 (AC: 16 (20) [T: 15 F: 14] HP: 38/38 Fort: +7 Ref: +7 Will +8 Perc: +10 Init: +2)

Huzzah, I'll add the equipment to Scoria's sheet then. That should be everything she'll need, so I hope that everybody else will be ready for Thistletop soon as well.

Male Human Whiteblade Magus of Iomedae 4 (AC: 14 (18 w/shield) [T: 10 FF: 14 (18)] | HP: 34/34 | F+5, R+0, W+4 | Init: +2 |Perc: +0/+2 with blade drawn)

With the last items appraised and sold, I'll be able to parse out the totals to everyone so we can shop away before we go (and ideally find a CLW wand as well).

retired

I'd like to give the Lamashtan items to Father Zantus rather than sell them, if that's amenable with everyone. I'd rather see them in the safe hands of the cathedral (for possible destruction) rather than selling them off for profit. I'm happy to let Ameiko appraise and sell the remaining things.

Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric of Gorum (Separatist) 4 / HP 38 of 38 / F+6 R+3 W+7 / AC 19.12.17 / Init. +2 / Perc +4

Agreed. Again, we are bent on being a poor party, but man, do we do the right thing! :)

Male Half Elf Magus / level 3 (AC: 15 [T:12 F: 13] [HP: 18/18] Fort: +3 Ref: +3 Will +2 Perc: +4 Init: +2)

Absolutely agreed everywhere.

Dead Goblins, Dead Geckos

Prayer Book of Lamashtu (Need Appraisal)
100gp

Tiara [Need Appraisal]
50gp

Black Gown [Need Appraisal]
25gp

Unholy Symbol of Lamashtu (Need Appraisal)
10gp

And you will give the Lamashtu items to Father Zantus?

I think that covers everything. I'll post up Thistletop tomorrow.

Female Human [Tian-Min] Bard/Artisan-4

Works for me. I'll post Midori's purchases tomorrow.

Male Human Whiteblade Magus of Iomedae 4 (AC: 14 (18 w/shield) [T: 10 FF: 14 (18)] | HP: 34/34 | F+5, R+0, W+4 | Init: +2 |Perc: +0/+2 with blade drawn)

Okay, after reworking the totals.

I removed the silver dagger for sell (you never know when you need one), and added the money from the gown and tiara. I think the silver dagger should probably go to Midori.

Base: 6323.8
Divide 7 ways: 903 gp, 4 sp

DM Valkur, there is enough in party loot for a wand of CLW. Can we find a full one (or even a used one at used wand prices)?

I will try to make my purchases tomorrow when I get a chance.

Dead Goblins, Dead Geckos

Wand of CLW
CLW Avail: 1d100 ⇒ 59

A wand is available for 1500gp.

Male Human Whiteblade Magus of Iomedae 4 (AC: 14 (18 w/shield) [T: 10 FF: 14 (18)] | HP: 34/34 | F+5, R+0, W+4 | Init: +2 |Perc: +0/+2 with blade drawn)

Ouch, that's double book price. In that case I think we'll pass.

Thaddeus will spend the 10 gp to add the Burning Hands spell to his spellbook.

He will buy:
Antiplague x2 (100 gp)
Antitoxin x2 (100 gp)

He's saving the rest for a really good weapon or armor upgrade, maybe even thinking about taking Craft Magic Arms and Armor.

retired

Agreed on passing on the wand. That's borderline war-time profiteering =P

Female Human [Tian-Min] Bard/Artisan-4

Midori will pick up a bandolier and stock it with cure light wounds potions.

5s for the bandolier
400g for 8 cure lights

Oh, and Midori does have disable, so I'll take the MW thieves tools, if no one objects?

retired

No objection here =)

Dead Goblins, Dead Geckos

What the heck was I thinking, it is 750gp. Doah!

retired

I just assumed Ven Vinder was quietly price gouging us =P

Female Oread Monk of the Sacred Mountain 4 (AC: 16 (20) [T: 15 F: 14] HP: 38/38 Fort: +7 Ref: +7 Will +8 Perc: +10 Init: +2)

It could have also been a CLW wand with a Caster Level 2nd. 1d8+2hp healed per use. Admittedly, still not worth the price.

Male Human Whiteblade Magus of Iomedae 4 (AC: 14 (18 w/shield) [T: 10 FF: 14 (18)] | HP: 34/34 | F+5, R+0, W+4 | Init: +2 |Perc: +0/+2 with blade drawn)

With the adjusted price, I will take it out of the party funds for it.

Now that we have it, who all can use it? Just Midori and Khrondak? If so who will be carrying it?

Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric of Gorum (Separatist) 4 / HP 38 of 38 / F+6 R+3 W+7 / AC 19.12.17 / Init. +2 / Perc +4

Since Khrondak can rely on channel energy to heal the party, I'd suggest giving the wand to Midori and making her our official secondary healer...

Female Oread Monk of the Sacred Mountain 4 (AC: 16 (20) [T: 15 F: 14] HP: 38/38 Fort: +7 Ref: +7 Will +8 Perc: +10 Init: +2)

Since Midori seems to have already designated herself as the medic with her bandoleer of potions, I say let her hang onto it. Khrondak's more of a fighting cleric at any rate, and Midori's great with support.

Next thing to save up for with party funds: A Bag of Holding!

Dead Goblins, Dead Geckos

Hey all, going to be out of town until Monday. I'll be up in northern Minnesota without any internet (other than my phone).

We will pick up at the water hole that Scoria has discovered.

I'll do up a map on Monday too.

Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric of Gorum (Separatist) 4 / HP 38 of 38 / F+6 R+3 W+7 / AC 19.12.17 / Init. +2 / Perc +4

Should I wait for Midori or can I post my round 4 action?

Dead Goblins, Dead Geckos

Go ahead! Bel'Tanis too.

Female Oread Monk of the Sacred Mountain 4 (AC: 16 (20) [T: 15 F: 14] HP: 38/38 Fort: +7 Ref: +7 Will +8 Perc: +10 Init: +2)

Valkur, you know that Burning Hands is an Area of Effect attack in a Cone, yes? Was that reflex save for all the Goblins or just for the goblin indicated by Notick to be at the very end of the 15ft cone? Because I'm pretty sure it would have hit every goblin except for 8 in the back - and all before Scoria was able to attack them herself. The reflex would have only saved for half the damage as well, unless there were other factors we were unaware of - fire resistance or evasion.

Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric of Gorum (Separatist) 4 / HP 38 of 38 / F+6 R+3 W+7 / AC 19.12.17 / Init. +2 / Perc +4

I was wondering the same thing...

Dead Goblins, Dead Geckos

Umm wow not sure what I was thinking, to much going on. But yes a cone it is.

Male Human Whiteblade Magus of Iomedae 4 (AC: 14 (18 w/shield) [T: 10 FF: 14 (18)] | HP: 34/34 | F+5, R+0, W+4 | Init: +2 |Perc: +0/+2 with blade drawn)

DM Valkur,

I wanted to ask before we got too close to 3rd level. I was looking to take the extra traits feat, so I could find one that gave me Diplomacy as a class skill. Sadly, the last time I looked, the only one was a religion trait, and I already have a religion trait. I was wondering if it would be okay to waive the restriction of no more than one from the same type or am I asking too much?

retired

You might find what you're looking for in this list of traits released in Ultimate Campaign.

Ultimate Campaign Traits

I think the Friend in Every Town or Trustyworthy traits might be especially attractive for Thaddeus.

Dead Goblins, Dead Geckos

@ Thaddeus, I will allow it, I don't think taking a feat to have another class skill is game breaking. Plus I think it fits with your character. I think it is great for people to have well thought out characters and you shouldn't let the rules always get in the way.

But I think Bel'Tanis has a good alternative listed in the above post.
