Dead Goblins, Dead Geckos

Thanks for doing the inventory Bel'Tanis!

We are using a spreedsheet in another PBP I'm in they are very helpful. and I was thinking of doing the same for this. You read my mind.

Do you want to track the loot?

retired

I might as well, yeah. =P

And here's the loot list in a spoiler so people don't need to bounce between forum pages to respond to it.

Spellcraft on the short sword. It will have to be in the morning, though since I failed the check already this day when we found it.
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15, and looks like I failed again the next morning (Thaddeus is oddly terrible at ID'ing magic items, remember how long he took on the robe.)

Also, from the list, I guess I am the only one that can use the wand w/o a UMD check (since we lost Notick). I will want the spellbook, since I can learn a few of those spells, but not the day we return (the cost and time needed to learn spells can become steep while in a time crunch). Once we have like a week of down time in game, Thaddeus will diligently try to learn as many as he can from the book.

    Female Oread Sacred Fist Warpriest of Irori 4 (AC: 17) [T: 17 F: 14] HP: 37/37 Fort: +6 Ref: +3 Will +7 Perc: +10 Init: +2)

So assuming we sell all of the mundane gear that no one in the party can use:

    MW Horsechopper x3: 930gp
    Dogslicer: 8gp
    Shortbow x4: 120gp
    Studded Leather armor x5: 100gp
    Whip: 1gp
    MW Breastplate: 350gp
    Heavy Flail: 15gp
    MW Composite Longbow +4: 800gp
    100 arrows: 5gp
    Dagger: 2gp
    20gp
    4pp

    Gross Worth: 2391gp
    Estimated Net Gain: 1225.5gp

That's not including items which require appraisal or identification, like the comb, gown and pearl earring. So far that's a split of 204.25gp per party member (Notick included). Divided 5 ways, that's 245.1gp per party member.

Seeing as we might be needing magic weapons, Scoria's going to see about getting an oil of magic weapon as well as another potion of Mage Armor. I'd suggest dividing the cure potions amongst the party as well.

Percentile Roll for Oil of Magic Weapon: 1d100 ⇒ 75
Percentile Roll for Potion of Mage Armor: 1d100 ⇒ 7
Percentile Roll for Potion of Magic Fang: 1d100 ⇒ 49

    Male Human Whiteblade Magus of Iomedae 4 (AC: 14 (18 w/shield) [T: 10 FF: 14 (18)] | HP: 34/34 | F+5, R+0, W+4 | Init: +2 |Perc: +0/+2 with blade drawn)

I think it's reasonable to assume that Notick was given his share before he decided to move on to different things. On top of that, we were doing the 7th share split for a party pool of cash for party needs.

That would put us at 175gp each (with 1 share for Notick and 1 for the Party). Normally, the party share would get the .5 (or .1 for each of the remaining members).

    Dead Goblins, Dead Geckos

If you want Matthias most of the party is at the Sandpoint Cathedral getting advice and supplies. If you would like to join them there. You could be going there looking for clues about Chopper and if that ties into Nulias death.

But shes really alive...shhh it is a secret.

    Male Human Whiteblade Magus of Iomedae 4 (AC: 14 (18 w/shield) [T: 10 FF: 14 (18)] | HP: 34/34 | F+5, R+0, W+4 | Init: +2 |Perc: +0/+2 with blade drawn)

Do we have a trained appraiser for the comb, gown and earring?

Like Bel'Tanis said, if the gown is Lyrie's clothing, Thaddeus would vehemently oppose taking it off of her just for its value.

    Appraise (untrained):
    Comb 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
    Gown 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
    Earring 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

So, no clue on the 1st two for sure, but just may get the earring.

EDIT: also, are we giving Notick his split, and a party share?

    retired

I don't see any need to split things over to Notick. I've been down with the flu since Monday or I'd have already gotten the Inventory log situated and whatnot, but I don't have a lot of creative spark at the moment =\

I'm on the mend now it seems though, so hopefully I'll get to it tonight or perhaps tomorrow.

    retired

I made a good bit of progress last night. Just have a few little bits left to do (adding in costs for a lot of the mundane items on some players' sheets for instance) and to add Matthias to the log as well.

Would anyone in particular like the barkskin potion?

    Female Oread Sacred Fist Warpriest of Irori 4 (AC: 17) [T: 17 F: 14] HP: 37/37 Fort: +6 Ref: +3 Will +7 Perc: +10 Init: +2)

I think Thaddeus should hold onto that, being our meleeist with the worst AC. Scoria already has natural armor herself.

    Male Human Whiteblade Magus of Iomedae 4 (AC: 14 (18 w/shield) [T: 10 FF: 14 (18)] | HP: 34/34 | F+5, R+0, W+4 | Init: +2 |Perc: +0/+2 with blade drawn)

    -
    -
Does anyone want to try and appraise the comb, gown and earring (unless the gown is Lyrie's of course)? That way we can get these totals added in and get a final split of loot.

I got a 22 for the earring, but rolled really bad for the other two.

    retired

I'm operating under the assumption that Lyrie is keeping her gown.

    Appraise (comb): 1d20 ⇒ 4

It seems Be'Tanis is not particularly familiar with combs or their inherent value =P

EDIT: Also, Valkur, do you have the retail cost for Bel'Tanis' scimitar? I have it listed on the sheet now just at the value of a +1 scimitar, as I'm not able to find a cost for that extra +1 fire damage.

    Link to inventory:

    Inventory Log

    Sold Items:

    small studded leather x4
    small masterwork horsechopper x3
    small dogslicer x1
    small shortbow x4
    small whip x1
    small masterwork breastplate x1
    studded leather armor x1
    heavy flail x1
masterwork composite longbow (+4 Str) x1
    scroll of whispering wind x1
    dagger x1

Net Profit from sales: 1250.5 gp

Split 6 (Bel'Tanis, Khrondak, Midori, Scoria, Thaddeus, & Party Stores) ways = 208.42 per share

Also note, on the inventory log that restoratives are tracked separately on each character's sheet and not included in their personal wealth totals. The reasoning there is that restoratives are freely shared amongst the party on an as-needed basis. With those not added into individual totals, my thinking is that Valkur can have a clearer view of who's where in relation to the wealth-by-level guidelines this way.

Let me know if there are any quesitons.

EDIT: The comb and sword still need to be appraised/id'd before being sold. We should also probably hang onto the everburning torch. Seems too handy to sell and the 55 gp it'd net us isn't going to make or break us at this stage.

    Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric of Gorum (Separatist) 4 / HP 38 of 38 / F+6 R+3 W+7 / AC 19.12.17 / Init. +2 / Perc +4

That's on top of the gold we already have from the earlier split, correct?

    Dead Goblins, Dead Geckos

Bel'Tanis, I have to look in one of my old FR books, for items that add just a +1 elemental damage for the price. I'll dig it out, once I remember which book they are in.

    retired

I added whatever was in your profile to the Inventory Log, then added in this most recent split of loot to your sheet in the log.

So, if you didn't include any earlier loot on your profile, it's not in the Inventory Log either.

    Male Human Whiteblade Magus of Iomedae 4 (AC: 14 (18 w/shield) [T: 10 FF: 14 (18)] | HP: 34/34 | F+5, R+0, W+4 | Init: +2 |Perc: +0/+2 with blade drawn)

No, Khrondak, that is based off the earlier split. The one done earlier didn't have all the totals in it, or was split differently. The last one is just Bel'Tanis' updated totals, and even then it won't be complete until we get the values for the silver comb and the earring.

    Female Oread Sacred Fist Warpriest of Irori 4 (AC: 17) [T: 17 F: 14] HP: 37/37 Fort: +6 Ref: +3 Will +7 Perc: +10 Init: +2)

I'm guessing that Ameiko is capable of appraisal - as a helpful NPC, should do it for us without screwing us over.

    retired

I COMPLETELY forgot about my trait, thanks for the inadvertent reminder, Scoria. We can sell things for 60% through Ameiko rather than 50%. I'm about to head out the door for the evening, but I'll readjust the totals according when I get home later tonight.

    Female Oread Sacred Fist Warpriest of Irori 4 (AC: 17) [T: 17 F: 14] HP: 37/37 Fort: +6 Ref: +3 Will +7 Perc: +10 Init: +2)

Yay, more money for stuff! I suggest also stocking up on as much holy water as we can get - it'll be good against the shadows for anyone who can't manage a decent magic weapon. Better really since it doesn't have the miss chance.

Bel'Tanis, the Party Loot I'm tracking on Thaddeus' is slightly off from what you have there.

For Party gold I had 325.4, but you have it as 310.1 and that is before I add the 250.1 we just got. Since you did a pretty thorough scrub, did I miss a purchase somewhere?

    retired

It seems likely that I missed a cut earlier at some point as I also noticed that I have have considerably fewer raw gps recorded for Bel'Tanis than the rest of the group. I really only focused on our time after breaching Thistletop and didn't look any farther back through the gameplay thread than that.

Not a worry though. If the previous party stores totaled at 325.4, I'll add the difference of 265.4 to what I had tallied.

    Dead Goblins, Dead Geckos

The sliver comb is worth 25gp!

If there is a question on any item I can comb through if needed. Otherwise just take the more generous total.

    Female Oread Sacred Fist Warpriest of Irori 4 (AC: 17) [T: 17 F: 14] HP: 37/37 Fort: +6 Ref: +3 Will +7 Perc: +10 Init: +2)

Okay then - Scoria will get 4 doses of Holy Water, and I think we can head back to Thistletop - perhaps zip right through to the lower level, unless there's new obstructions to deal with.

    retired

Just remember with holy water there're special rules for attacking incorporeal things with it. I learned that the hard way in a Carrion Crown game I'm in. =|

Updated Scoria's sheet: +4 holy water, -100 gp

    Any other purchases for anyone?

Any ID attempts on the shortsword in the morning? Should we spend some of the party stores on potions of lesser restoration (presuming some are available)? We can afford up to 2 with what we have in the party fund.

    Male Human Whiteblade Magus of Iomedae 4 (AC: 14 (18 w/shield) [T: 10 FF: 14 (18)] | HP: 34/34 | F+5, R+0, W+4 | Init: +2 |Perc: +0/+2 with blade drawn)

I'm concerned that we could only afford 2 of them with what we have. Then again, I don't like spending a lot on one time use consumables. It always feel so wasteful, even when it's helpful (but then again it could result in a return of only 1).

    Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric of Gorum (Separatist) 4 / HP 38 of 38 / F+6 R+3 W+7 / AC 19.12.17 / Init. +2 / Perc +4

If father Zantus can cast one more lesser restoration, Khrondak can prepare another two before combat. If we manage to destroy the undead quickly, maybe we won't need any more.

Also, everyone heals 1 point of Str damage after resting, right?

    Male Human Whiteblade Magus of Iomedae 4 (AC: 14 (18 w/shield) [T: 10 FF: 14 (18)] | HP: 34/34 | F+5, R+0, W+4 | Init: +2 |Perc: +0/+2 with blade drawn)

Yes, a night of rest will restore 1 point in each score that has damage.

    Female Human [Tian-Min] Bard/Artisan-4

Don't forget, Midori has a wand of cure light as well, IIRC.

Also, and FYI: on Tuesday the 11th I'm going in for a root canal. Not sure how coherent I'll be, but it's better than oral surgery to remove the tooth entirely.

    retired

Who needs Zantus' lesser restoration in the morning?
After resting, Bel'Tanis only has 1 Str damage - which isnt enough to cause a penalty.

    Female Oread Sacred Fist Warpriest of Irori 4 (AC: 17) [T: 17 F: 14] HP: 37/37 Fort: +6 Ref: +3 Will +7 Perc: +10 Init: +2)

Probably Khrondak? Or Midori. Seeing as Midori isn't much of a combatant, I'd say Khrondak, having only recovered half of what he lost in strength.

    Dead Goblins, Dead Geckos

Father Zantus can do three lesser restorations.

    That should be enough...I hope.

    I'll just roll them all:
    Lesser Restoration: 1d4 ⇒ 3
    Lesser Restoration: 1d4 ⇒ 3

    Dead Goblins, Dead Geckos

You can scribe if you wish Matthias, but it is 2 hours per scroll. For a total of six hours. The party would not arrive back at Thistlepoint until early afternoon.

@Bel'Tanis, your sword is made out of Fever Iron, which causes an extra +1 fire damage. +1500gp value according to Magic of Faerun.
