Matthias Vale |

Varisian, but not particularly in touch with his heritage.

Scoria the Stalwart |

Boy, there are days when I wonder if Bel'tanis is deliberately avoiding seeing Scoria's affection. It still makes for good roleplay over all, especially if everyone else sees it but him.

Bel'Tanis |

Bel'Tanis is clueless for 2 big reasons.
1) He's used to girls being WAAAY too forward like Shayliss was, just brazenly blatant.
2) He's 16 and it sounds like Scoria's older than either of his parents, so the thought is completely foreign to him.
So yeah, that's why he's oblivious - because he is!

Scoria the Stalwart |

Ah, that is the rub I've always thought of with the long-lived races. Physically speaking, Scoria's got the body of a twenty year old human meticulously trained. She is learned mentally, but emotionally, she's very stunted. She's very much a person who expresses herself in actions than words. Which is why she keeps sort of touching him, on the shoulders and chest and the like.
Though it's possible after the end of this dungeon crawl she might just come out with it. Hopefully to favorable returns.

Bel'Tanis |

I just checked the Advanced Race Guide and it looks like Paizo updated the aasimar's aging rate from what had been published in Blood of Angels, which is what I used to build Bel'Tanis.
In Blood of Angels, aasimar are said to age only slightly slower than their parent race (in this case, human). In the ARG, it looks like all six of the planetouched races are defaulted to longer life spans.
I hadn't realized the age tables had been modified between the two books. I do rather like the more variable approach presented in Blood of Angels, though.

Scoria the Stalwart |

Yeah, I used the ARG for Scoria - seeing as Blood of Elements isn't out yet. But I've found that people tend to go with it in several ways - one, that planetouched actually age physically slower, or that they age normally until they finish puberty, in which case they grow older vastly slower, but take longer to master things mentally as well.
So while she's outlived her human father and master, that hardly means she's as mentally mature as a human person her age. I rather like that idea a lot - look at elves as well with their long lifespans.

Khrondak Iron Forged |

I'm saving to buy some magic items but I'm lost about the loot. I went over the earlier splits and it's not helping. Since Thaddeus and Bel'Tanis have been paying attention to it, could anyone please tell me how much gold Khrondak should have, considering he hasn't bought anything? Thanks!

Bel'Tanis |

Apart from what we found after that nasty vine thing, the most current totals of our phat l00tz are in the Inventory Log, Khrondak.
Each character has their own sheet within the log. If you can't access it for some reason, your personal gp total is currently 1,153.5.

DM-Valkur |

So we have for the most part finished Burnt Offerings.
At this point we can get the treasure tallied and distributed. I'll also do XP and roll for new magic items available for sale.
Treasure not identified/appraised.
40 gemstones x 10gp (each)
Helmet-3,000gp !
Amulet of Natural Armor.
Does a month of downtime (gametime) sound good before the Skinsaw Murders? That should give people time to craft and do other stuff.

Matthias Vale |

One month works for me. I need to create me some scrolls!
Are we still 3rd level?

Scoria the Stalwart |

Huzzah, and though we didn't get to Nualia, hopefully we'll encounter her in the future. A month of down time seems quite fair - certainly Scoria will use that time to put her stonemasonry skills to good use.
I'll suggest that either Khrondak or Thaddeus get the Amulet of Nat Armor - both of them could use the AC boost. Scoria of course is going to invest in a nice wand of Mage Armor - our resident wizard can use it on her to keep her AC nice and high in combat.

Matthias Vale |

Matthias would be happy to help with that! In fact, depending on how much loot Matthias gets, I'd be happy to go halfsies with you, if that's alright.

Bel'Tanis |

I don't think I'll have a chance to get the loot updated tonight, but I should be able to tomorrow evening.
As for downtime, I'd like for Bel'Tanis to be able to sell this fevered iron scimitar and comission a +1 falchion. We've reached the point where I'd like to start transitioning him over to the two-handed heavy hitter I hope he can be. =)

Thaddeus Pruitt |

Thaddeus will spend most of his downtime working with integrating Orik into the town guard, trying to guide an mentor him. When he is off in the evening he's will try and copy the spells from the Lyrie's book into his own.
Week 1:
Burning Hands - failed first attempt a couple days earlier, has to wait 1/week to try again.

Khrondak Iron Forged |

Khrondak rides away to prepare and consecrate a burial site for his cousin, which gets him out of town for a few days. Upon return, he stays with Daviren, drinking, sharing stories, training and planning how to track Nualia down. He also spends time in town looking for any signs of her return. He also looks for Notick, worried about his sudden disappearance, but his inquiries lead him nowhere.
He visits the new cathedral often, learning about the other Gods, and exchanges a few words with Scoria on such occasions. With his earnings from adventuring, Khrondak also commissions a new armor and mastework earth breaker, gearing up for his next encounter with Nualia.
He asks Daviren to teach his horse a few new tricks (stay and fetch).
Sell earth breaker for 24 gp, buy masterwork earth breaker for 340 gp = - 316gp
Sell armored coat for 30 gp, buy masterwork breastplate for 350 = -320gp
400gp worth of gems = 65 gp for each, with 10 gp going to the party fund.
Total = 1,153gp / 5sp - 636gp +65 = 582gp; 5sp
We still need to identify the helmet. May I keep the amulet of natural armor for now? If the helmet boosts Charisma, I would like to have it instead, since I could do with a few more uses of channel energy.

Thaddeus Pruitt |

So, we only need 486 XP total to level all of us?
How does everyone feel about looking behind that sealed door? ;)
EDIT: the helmet wasn't magical, just gold, heavy, and valuable.
I would prefer that you get the amulet if you want it. I don't want to keep getting items to shore up a flaw that is part of the character's build. In all reality, he was my first Magus, and for what I wanted to do, I didn't realize how reliant the class was on Dex as a whole. I'm fine with it, and wouldn't change it, as it pretty much makes him who he is.
EDIT 2: Also, once Matthias and I get what we need from the spellbook, that can be a pretty penny, and I have the wand of missles in case Midori wants it for added firepower. If not her, Matthias, as Thaddeus is more than likely going to be up front in the thick with the other three meleers.

Scoria the Stalwart |

...We're 81xp from level four. I feel we ought to find a few giant rats to punch to death and get to that next level. Just...SO CLOSE.
Scoria's downtime will have her returning to her regular job as a stonemason, attending to the last finishing touches for the cathedral, as well as looking for a new job for the future - if nothing new is being built in Sandpoint, she'll stick around until she's heard back from her mason's guild about any new projects that may need her skills.
On a personal level, she'll spend time both checking on Bel'tanis - every day, in fact - and performing deputy duties, should she never be undeputized.

Thaddeus Pruitt |

My Skull & Shackles game died, and I have decided to scrap it and start over with Mummy's Mask. As such I have started an invite only recruitment thread, and everyone here is encouraged to apply to the game. I still have a few players from the previous game, so am only looking for 2 players. I may possibly need up to 4, based on whether all my S&S players are staying or not, in order to get a 6 person team.

Matthias, realizing his talents lie away from the world of combat, will sell his masterwork heavy crossbow for 210 gp. Using his remaining gold of 307 gp, Matthias will set about his scribing madness!
Scribing:
1 Comprehend Languages scroll = 37.5 gp

1 Detect Undead = 37.5 gp
1 Spider Climb = 75 gp
1 Scorching Ray = 75 gp
TOTAL: 300 gp
Cash remaining: 7 gp (not counting any loot split)

Matthias Vale |

I don't think Midori can use the wand without Use Magic Device checks. That being said, if she doesn't want it, Matthias would love it!

Scoria the Stalwart |

Scoria would prefer only opening the door should they be prepared for whatever lurks behind it. Possibly with a ballista. Or a cannon. But searching for a missing son sounds like a good in between.

Bel'Tanis |

Sorry for the slowness in situating the monies and stuff, gang. I've been sick the last couple of days and haven't had the energy to sift through the threads and do maths.
As for our next steps, I have no memory whatsoever of a missing son, so this sounds great! Plus, I'm very nervous to open that door after seeing nearly half our team beaten within an inch of their lives by a big hermit crab in a fancy hat-shell, so as a player I'm happy to postpone opening that ominous door.

DM-Valkur |

Magic Items for Sale Update:
44. The Feathered Serpent
Robe of Useful Items 7,000 GP-Removed
Summon Minor Ally Scroll CL1 25GP - Removed
Mask of the Krenshar 7,200 GP-New
Endure Elements Scroll CL1 Cost 25GP -New
Staff of the Scout Cost 9,600 GP -New
I'll do the first post tomorrow for the missing son.

DM-Valkur |

Staff of the Scout:
Know direction (1 charge)
Pass without trace (1 charge)
Summon nature’s ally I (2 charges)
Mask of the Krenshar:
This simple leather mask depicts an earless catlike creature. When worn, it melds into its wearer’s face and vanishes, leaving the wearer’s face just as it looked before.
Three times per day the wearer can command the mask to appear to retract the wearer’s skin, revealing an illusion of the wearer’s glistening skull and musculature. Creatures within 100 feet who see this display must succeed at a DC 13 Will save or become frightened (if the target has 6 or fewer Hit Dice) or shaken (if the target has more than 6 HD) for 1d4 rounds. This is a mind-affecting fear effect and a glamer. Anyone who can see through illusions (such as by true seeing) is unaffected.
Both are on PFSRD.

Thaddeus Pruitt |

I keep forgetting where all we've found the Sihedron, and what we learned from the (gnome?) historian.
I know there was one on the door we didn't open, where we think the demon is, and now the one on the isle. Did we find one under the glassworks in that temple anywhere?

DM-Valkur |

I'll have to check my notes, but I believe you found Sihedrons in the Catacombs, Chopper's Isle and Thistlepoint.
The sage Brodert Quink(human) also told you of the Thassolian Empire, the Runelords and what the Sihedrons represented.
Also there is not much left to the Island, we could just hand wave it and start the Skinsaw Murders.
