I'll stay in town. I think we should gather some of the townsfolk in the Tavern and go to the cathedral to make a safe house.
Can anyone create a forgery to say the Baron has made the order?

I really hope that the recent die off on posts was just do to the weekend and getting stuff worked out for Vorell. Let's roll!!! Lol

Trying to figure out what's what, sorry.
Mostly, I'm wondering if we want to create an elaborate plan to protect the town for an attack that may not even come this evening? Especially a plan that involves criminal activity and treason?

We should have a concise consensus on what everybody's character thinks that the party should do/is doing.
Partially because...
I am completely clueless.

We don't have enough information. We've got...
1. A pint-sized necromancer who had a sigil and babbled about a Way.
2. A carver who sold items that bear a similarity to the sigil the necromancer held. The sold items are not magical but may be the personal mark of someone or something.
3. More missing bodies than we can account for with the zombies we destroyed at the cave.
From this, there's been speculation that the town is going to be attacked this evening. We're considering forging an order from the nobility (which is probably a hanging crime in this area) to drive everyone into one or two locations when they'd already be locked in their homes at night anyway.
I don't think that's the best idea.
| Calistria the Courier |
Considering it is evening, I think we should pick the simple path. Stay in town overnight without trying to herd the townspeople into a single location and then, in the morning, go see the carver.

I am not comfortable at all with forging documents.. Garekk would see that as a smirch on his honor

I agree, it is too risky in Swift's eyes as well. Perhaps we could stay the night like Calistria suggested.

Thank you, Calistria. I was not sure if Hailey could post again to defend herself or not. Then again, she'd probably just have made it worse.
One probable blunder would be to point out that, should a wizard wish to cast Cure Lt. Wounds, let alone any better Cure spell, he would have to multiclass to cleric, druid, or bard . . .

Remember the concept of classes don't actually exist in game.
And most residents of Ustalav know little of magic, to them a witch, wizard, warlock, sorceror or mage are simply different terms for the same thing.

Quite right, and I'm sorry. I can come up with better terms for the classes. And besides, I don't think Hailey has even explained to the party yet the difference between a wizard and a sorcerer and a druid and a (dreaded by Hailey) bard.
Or, for that matter, the difference between an abjurer, a necromancer, and a conjurer . . . oh boy. She's been very derelict in her duties. It'll make a great thing for her to tell the others about while they travel sometime. From her perspective, anyway. All glory to Nethys. :)

No worries.
Most PCs should have at least a basic understanding of the differences between arcane casters, even if they don't know or understand the specifics.
I've played many a fighter or barbarian who didn't understand the class system At ALL. One was convinced he was haunted by a ghost and afraid of the dark. He ran from fear of the ghost INTO the darkness where enemies in the next room would take their attacks of opportunity. The darkness hurt...a lot. That should tell you something...

I'm sorry for my abrupt quiet.. my son got sick over the weekend, and ended up with an emergency appendectomy yesterday. Needless to say I wasn't in a mindset nor did I have time to post.

Sounds good to me. We can also buy some supplies there in case this turns out to be a long expedition.
My guess is that it will be an actual dungeon.
Garekk

Ok.. everything should be better on my end now. Once again.. sorry for holding things up. Rois, I agree.. supplies would be a good thing right about now, especially if we are about to go do a crawl. Btw, how much game time has passed? Can we collect on the bounty from the bandits yet?
And should I just RP it that Garekk was there but quiet or that he just stayed in the room at the inn?
| Sir Rois Grave |
I'm posting about the ruins here to keep it out of occ in the game thread.
It was my assumption that we stopped into town to get supplies and then immediately went to find the ruins.
Do we want to do this, or, would we rather Role Play it?

Looks like we may have to return to town for directions. We can kill several birds with one stone by going to see the baron for the information and maps, scope out his brother, and pick up supplies all at once. I think even Hailey might agree to that.. but I dont like the idea of just randomly picking a direction and walking that way.. Seems a long and pointless journey with little hope of success.

I can be quartermaster. Or, if someone rise wants to that's fine too.
I've already got rope, lanterns, etc. Take a look at my profile to see what i have so we don't buy two of anything.

She smiles at Swift-Palm.
"Sir, I have heard that the martial arts have the power to discipline the mind and still unwelcome thoughts. Is this true? If it is, I I'd like to speak with you alone tonight."
When you say this, are you talking to Sir Rois or Swift? Jus thought I would double check :P
