DM, is the closet in the same room as the baby or is it in the other room where everyone else is?
I ask because, she she was sent to investigate the rumors of necromancy magic and the return of the undead, any discussion about the undead attacking people would instantly capture Hailey's attention if she were around to hear it.
It would actually be upstairs, if it is convenient, then you probably pass the table where most of the PCs are as they are talking about the local situation.

with work being a major pain in the ass at this time of year I am not able to post as much as I would like, but I have to agree with yall.. so far this is shaping up to have a better background than even my home group has. And btw, I've role played in some form or fashion for almost 20 yrs (starting in middle school with AD&D and the Dragonlance chronicles), and never in my life did I think I think an encounter would start with a birthing! Very well played, everyone. I can't wait to see how the rest of this plays out. @Broman: if the chemistry keeps going so well, any chance of turning this into a longer game or are we set rock hard into a single module?

What module? I don't GM premade campaigns, I find them too restrictive for my style to run. The have their place and can be awesome for people who cannot create their own campaigns or aren't good on their feet but I don't like running them. In fact I rarely have more than a general idea of where things are heading. being too restrictive prevents all sorts of interesting things from happening along the way.

He's back, anyways. I feel like Rois and Voryn
are going to end up being the 'decision makers' of the party, in Walking Dead terms. It'll be cool to see their heads butt against the other when we come to a fork in the road.
Haha. I don't know about that. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Browman: I have no coin. Would the innkeeper have let me stay in the common room for services rendered?
yes, though his generosity will not extend to breakfast. After all he is a businessman, and you may have birthed a sorceror in his kitchen, such rumours are bad for business in Ustalav
Edit: you may also want to find a way of gaining some ready cash ASAP, credit doesn't really exist in Ustalav, especially for strangers.

Browman |

What does Voryn know of Bayan and what is my relationship with him?
Bayan is the town priest a lvl 1 adept, he doesn't trust strangers but spends much time helping the people of Silvam, healing the sick, blessing homes and protective talismans, ensuring proper care of graves, etc. In exchange he is given various things, mostly food, by the villagers, he gives the food to Antal in exchange for free meals at the tavern.
He would consider you to be part of Silvam, but may be reconsidering that due to your familiarity with these strangers.
He is a good if cautious and often untrusting person, but as a priest of Pharasma he has probably seen enough to warrant it.

What does Voryn know of Baron Ioan Gelou and what is his relationship with him? Has he worked for him before?
A rather private man in his early 30s, he has been baron for about a decade. As far as nobles go he is considered poor and only has 3 servants, 2 which take care of the house and grounds and the third, Josep who aids him in managing the lands considered to be under the baron's control. Josep is basically a jack of all trades, at times a tax collector, bailiff, militia sergeant, town crier, bodyguard.
The baron is a fair if strict man. He tolerates no crime on his lands, but is poor partiality because he keeps tax rates lower than he could. Few people interact directly with him except at church services which he attends regularly. Outside of church he most frequently seen when acting as a judge over someone accused of crime.
You have never worked directly with him but have heard of Josep hiring people to assist or deal with problems like bandits or dangerous animals.

Aw dang...My Golarion geography is all messed up.
I thought Lastwall was north-west of Ustalav. It is actually South-west - right across the river from Caliphas (where we are at, currently).
That actually works out for the better - a drop in recruitment from Caliphas would seem more drastic to the Order because of the shared border.
I'll look over my background and make any necessary changes.

I will wait until morning to give Hailey a chance to respond to the others concern about cute undead.
We are actually moving along pretty well. And I think all the tavern stuff was needed to establish the characters. Remember PbP proceeds very slowly in most cases and is usually more role-play heavy than if you are gaming with your buddies in your basement.

Disclaimer: I now love you all. Maybe not Vorelloex (yet), but you're all the bomb in my book.
Disclaimer the second: I live in China, and my timezones are wicked different, so if it ever comes to it, I might be asleep when some 'peak rhythms' are happening. But I've been trying my darndest to stay on top of it.

Sir Rois Grave |

This game is actually moving faster than average. I've played in pbp Games where the opening scene lasted several weeks.
I think everyone's posting frequency is fine. We all understand that time zones come into play. Such is online gaming.
Just try not to loose too much sleep staying up waiting to post ;)

YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH THAT IS A REAL STRUGGLE FOR ME.
this game is dangerous. lol
You get used to it after a while. some of my play by posts have been going on for around a year. In one of them about a month has passed in game and we have played every day of it. we are establishing a colony. I think I have leveled once in 9 months in that game. But it is so awesome that no one really cares about leveling.

Sir Rois Grave |

I was in a "short term" pbp game that lasted 8 months. We just got to level 2 when it finished. In a regular game, that would never happen. Actually, I find it refreshing that i don't have to rework my character sheet every other week.
