Red wine and a fireplace? Bloody Mary night?
I clearly am not spending my weekends correctly. However, I get to game tonight in real life -- Emerald Spire Campaign.
Speaking of which, I need to get started on that. Enjoy your evenings, gentlemen!

Aikane Redvane |

Homebrew. The Sunset Empires.
Paladin Balthazar needs our help.
I have a former soldier dwarf cleric of Kelimvor, judge of the damned.
He is a band-aid machine, right now. 5e seems super solid across the party.
Tomorrow, Carrion Crown L5 Monk. Dang. I need to get his feats lined up correctly. Back to work, then on Hu Jieu No.

House stuff and child rearing during the day, copious amounts of Final Fantasy XIV at night. My irl game isn't until next Saturday. I GM Curse of the Crimson Throne for a few close friends and a guy I found on the Pathfinder RPG subreddit. It's going swimmingly so far and I am very much looking forward to our next session.
Yesterday got away from me, so Rata's archer build will have to wait until next week. I'm not sure which class I should use. Fighter and Ranger are the frontrunners. I don't think Zen Archer Monk fits with my concept and I haven't been able to find any decent Slayer archer builds.

Oren Mitabu |

I love love love Curse of the Crimson Throne! I am in a group here on the boards that is part way through the 5th book. Scarwall is kicking our butt, though.
We've got a good DM that is hitting the high points, and not just having us wander from empty room to empty room, which is why we've been able to make it so far online. That is easily in my top 2 of all the APs.
I hope your crew enjoys it as much as we do!

Random stuff update...
My Mummy's Mask campaign is running quite hot. We're at nearly 500 posts in a single month. And I've been sick for most of the last week.
Between the two, that means I haven't done the marketing for this that I should have.
However... What would you like me to say about your character in two sentences or less? Give me something fun, or live with what I make up for all of you.
Nef

Can you call tribals "country boys?" The writer in me rebels a little. On the other hand, the rest of the description is great.

NEWS FLASH
Hey guys...
We may actually have a GM.
I am playing in Mummy's Mask with Eric Swanson -- who's been awesome. I believe that Gerald and Carmris already know him? At any rate, I mentioned to him that I would be recruiting for a GM, and he expressed interest in the job. Would you guys like to talk to him?

Oren Mitabu |

I've had several games with Eric. He was always great! If he'd be interested, I'd love to snatch him up. Do you want to send him over here to our thread, Hmm?

Nefertiti Abdul |

I think he's reading through discussion right now...

Eric Swanson |

...And I have just finished!
Hello, this is Eric Swanson and for better or for worse, I am your new DM...(please hang with me while I get to know all of you).
If you wish to see how I DM games, you can check out my Shattered Star game HERE. I also am in a few games here on Paizo as well so I encourage you to check them out if you do not already know me, he he.
I was able to get an idea of what you are all looking for in your game, plus your backgrounds are quite intriguing! This will be lots of fun I hope! I still need to refresh my memory on the Razor Coast setting so I am not quite ready to start. It should be only a few days though. I do believe you are looking for mostly island exploration stuff and trying to bring freedom for your tribes against the colonists.
Feel free to let me know what your characters are truly looking for, either here or via PM. Also Hmm has me on Hangouts so you can tell her what you wants and she can let me know.
Welcome to the Razor Coast! Now to get cracking here...
Also one final note: beware zombie cannibal pygmies!

Nefertiti Abdul |

This may be the shortest marketing campaign in history. Welcome Eric!

Thanks, Eric. Much appreciated. Super cool of you to come help this gang of wayward strangers.
Take your time getting up to speed. It's great to know someone reliable is manning the big chair.
And many thanks to you as well, Hmm. Great sales job!

Whew, my pbp plate just went from scraps to a full blown smorgasbord! I may have to trim the fat a bit. Not this game, though. I'm extremely excited to finally get a chance to play Rata. Welcome Eric!

Nefertiti Abdul |

Wild haired uncouth country boy, likes mixing up bugs and weeds to simultaneously heal and disgust his teammates. Also likes setting things on fire.
So... Ke'... How do you know the rest of us? Or will you have Eric introduce you in gameplay?
Whew, my pbp plate just went from scraps to a full blown smorgasbord!
I know what you mean. I probably would not have applied to my most recent one had I thought this one was a go. On the other hand... I now have 4 great games. No complaints here.
I am really looking forward to this one.

Rata Fenn |

GM Eric, how do you feel about be rebuilding Rata as a swashbuckler of some sort? As I said previously, I submitted this build in another game while this game was in stasis and it got picked up. I was originally considering an archery build of some kind, but I've been wanting to try swashbuckler ever since one of my RL players rolled one. Thoughts?

Rata Fenn |

I have a concept I would really enjoy playing, but it would require your approval of slashing grace working with light one-handed slashing weapons (which I think is pretty ridiculous that it doesn't RAW, but was probably RAI).

Nefertiti Abdul |

Rata, I pinged Eric about your post, so he know's it's there... I think he's in the middle of Super Bowl madness.
Aikane, I figure your character has been expanding my character's palette all along, ever since we were introduced.

Nef holds up what looks to her to be a giant caterpillar, valiantly trying to not look nauseated. "Are you sure this is edible?"

As for games of different types -- yes, all four are VERY different. Hopefully I will finish off goblins soon and be down to just three, though!

Super Bowl madness indeed...he he. Still it was entertaining to watch.
Rata Fenn: Feel free to rebuild your character as a swashbuckler. While I am not all too familiar with swashbucklers, I know very little of the other ACG classes.
As for the slashing grace feat question, it looks like the feat itself is designed for a swashbuckler, so yeah I will allow it.

So... I go away for the weekend, and when I get back everything has changed - just goes to show I need to get away more often :D
No matter how, I knew you would come through Nef - and indeed you have!
Eric, thanks a lot for taking this one on board - everyone is super hyped to play their characters, so I am guessing this one will be FUN, and a memorable game. You've hit the nail on the head regarding Zemwaar's wishes, though he has also taken upon himself the protection of Nefertiti, as she may be the fulfillment of a Tulita prophecy - she's got some pretty big shoes to fill ;)
"Giant caterpillars are good nourishment, will strengthen your loins" - Zemwaar adds undaunted.

Rata Fenn |

Alrighty, I might change his alias, but who knows when paizo will be fixed in that regard. Otherwise, I've got him all built up in Hero Lab, it's just a matter of formatting it all and modifying his background a bit to fit with his new character abilities. It shouldn't be too drastic, I just want to work in some information from the traits I took. I still plan on being washed up on shore after the attack on my father's ship, etc., etc.
I'll be throwing daggers at +11 doing 1d4+5+9 damage. Pretty sweet!
Edit: It might take me a few days as I am also finalizing the crunch on another character for a likewise huge game. Just wanted to be transparent as possible! Do you have a start date in mind GM?

Eric Swanson |

Zemwaar, you are welcome! Also thank you for for the character tidbit, it will make my job sooo much easier ::evil grin::
Rata Fenn, I plan on starting this game later this week. I just am still reading the RC Core book (thoughtfully provided by Nef, he he) and doing some other setup stuff. (also waiting for Paizo to fix the alias issue too.)
Don't worry, when I am all set I will let you know :)

Aikane Redvane |

I feel like Aikane is pretty well cut out for any of it, but I'll let the DM decide how closely the white ghosts have encroached on our menehune village-beside-the-volcano.
Acrobatics set him up for shipboard work, trap clearing for dungeons and burglary, and savvy for negotiating life in the port. Gotta use my disguises, too at some point.

Nefertiti Abdul |

"I was not aware that my loins needed strengthening..."
Nefertiti looks at Aikane and Zemwaar, as the two men patiently wait for her to eat the caterpillar. She closes her eyes, swallows it and shudders. It wasn't quite as horrible as she feared it would be.
See how devoted I am to you, Horus? Now, please, help Zemwaar bring back some proper game so I don't have to eat those again... Please, I beg you!

Zemwaar |

"Loins can never be too strong" - Zemwaar seems almost surprised he has to explain this - "They allow women to bear children every winter, the tribe thus growing strong int their honor"

Aikane Redvane |

Rata Fenn |

I have updated Rata's stat line (which you can see above), but am still trying to work out the kinks in his build, so he retains his old profile for now. I think I will stick with this alias as it does have a sort of grizzled swashbuckler kinda vibe. I have not yet begun updating his background to reflect my trait choices (river rat and fencer in case you were wondering).
I have a feeling this character is going to be quite the handful in pbp format with all of the reactionary deeds and the constantly in flux panache points. Lots and lots of situational modifiers as well. What am I getting myself into!? Haha.
My main point of concern right now is if point blank master is worth it since it appears that I do the exact same atk/dmg in melee as I do if I throw my dagger. Plus, I wouldn't have to worry about the -4 if the creature is in melee with another party member, as well as the potential to flank if I choose to melee.
If I decide not to take point blank master, I will move up deadly aim, which would be quite nice to have at 5.
It looks like everyone has checked in since GM Eric took over except Camris/Ke'ahilani. Are you still with us, friend?

Eric Swanson |

Rata Fenn: Due to all of the deeds and panache points, I would recommend you state on what conditions they will be triggered when you post your actions. That way I will be able to resolve them more quickly. As you know combat is the slowest part of PbP so anything to do to speed it up is strongly encouraged.
Camris: If you are still there, please check in, thanks.

Nefertiti Abdul |

"Loins can never be too strong" - Zemwaar seems almost surprised he has to explain this - "They allow women to bear children every winter, the tribe thus growing strong in their honor"
Nef chokes on her caterpillar. Children? What children and from whom?
"Zemwaar," she says gently. "I've told you that I grew up in a حرمسرا, a harem." She uses the Keleshite word without thinking, then translates. "My mother was a man's property. I have no plans to ever be so."
"Maybe someday... someday I will find someone I can trust and love that way. Maybe then I will have children, and thank you for your kind lessons on caterpillars. "
She pointedly leaves the remainder of the caterpillar on the banana leaf they had been using as a plate.

He's so light and fluffy!

I'm also filling out my background more, now that we know that this thing is a go. Should I shoot you a link, Aikane, once I have more of it in? I know we've been traveling together.

Aikane Redvane |

I didnt think i'd been travelling with you that long, but I suppose it depends on when we found rata. Nef is a new arrival, right?
Aikane took a two year rumspingah. Came back for a quiet life of a year, then left again with the biguns. I give us one moth max and a week or less with Rata.

Rata Fenn |

Whatever makes the most sense for all of you. I figure my individual story ends the moment you find me washed ashore. After that it's the combined story of our group. Did we discuss why Rata chose to go with you all? Is it because he needed a guide? I guess it's up to the GM to manufacture some leads for Rata to track down, ;).
I like playing the naive foreigner angle, since I as a player don't know much about the setting itself, so it could be weeks.

Nefertiti Abdul |

From my discussion with Zemwaar, he and Nef have had at least several months of traveling likely with Aikane as guide for at least part of that time.
Nef was there when Rata washed ashore.

Rata Fenn |

@GM: I was curious how you plan on handling one of my deeds:
Opportune Parry and Riposte When attacked, spend 1 panache point and expend a use of an attack of opportunity to attempt to parry that attack. The swashbuckler makes an attack roll as if she were making an attack of opportunity; for each size category the attacking creature is larger than the swashbuckler, the swashbuckler takes a –2 penalty on this roll. If her result is greater than the attacking creature’s result, the creature’s attack automatically misses. The swashbuckler must declare the use of this ability after the creature’s attack is announced, but before its attack roll is made. Upon performing a successful parry and if she has at least 1 panache point, the swashbuckler can as an immediate action make an attack against the creature whose attack she parried, provided that creature is within her reach.
Obviously, most GMs post attacks during their combat turn, so I'm not sure how I would pick and choose which attacks to use this deed since the rolls will be right in front of my face. Maybe you could spoiler your attack rolls? I don't want to force you into a format you're uncomfortable using, though. What do you think?

Eric Swanson |

@Rata Fenn: I will be spoiler-ing all of my die rolls. Go ahead and spoiler your rolls when you use your panache points and list it after your normal rolls, since Paizo will change the original attack roll if you post the roll before your attack rolls.
@all: Good to know that. I want everyone to be familiar with each other at least.

Aikane Redvane |

Feel free to edit this for your best fit gang:
2 weeks ago we began hanging with oren & camris, aikane's old sketchy friends in Port shaw. (Or did the alchemist accompany zemwaar in the first place?)
3-4 weeks ago we recover Rata.
4-8 weeks ago zemwaar and co look up aikane on the side of a mountain. Begin travel to Shaw.
5-9 weeks ago nef meets zemwaar (or any other native humans wishing to join in early)
-from what I can tell-

10-12 weeks ago Nef arrived in Port Shaw, got stalked by Zemwaar and befriended Oren. She also got her missionary license.

Rata Fenn |

That timeline looks good to me. Also, Rata has been officially updated in all forms.
@GM: Let me know if the presence of the Aspis Consortium in Rata's background works for you. I figured they had some sort of agenda against Malika or just the Pathfinder Society in general and could've hired pretty much anyone to attack the Concord, so it's up to you if you want to include them in our game, or just have them be the wizard behind the curtain so to speak. This is all carried over from a previous version of Rata, so if you want me to retool it in any way just say the word.

Ke'ahilani |

Still here!
Trying to get a more detailed background. Perhaps I knew Zemwaar back when he was a regular Barbarian Jock, before he got lamed and was turned to Alchemist by his Witch Doctor.
