Zemwaar unleashed:

From his perch the man spied the approaching group - they were so loud he had heard them from miles away. Zemwaar was almost always wary of strangers, even the good intentioned ones usually brought with them an attitude that simply by being what it is, invaded on his homeland - his elder had instructed him to steer away from trying to explain this to any of them, but he had tried once nonetheless. It did not end well...

Now, he only watched and learned, giving them a clear berth and a chance to learn by themselves - "This wave cannot be stopped for now. If we do not bend, we will break" - the words made him feel uncomfortable, as if forced to subject to other's will, regardless of what Arawath would say. There was no way around it - the settlers were stronger, so they could impose their will, and try as he may, he could not envision the future when the wave would have passed, and the bending tree would remain. He feared that tree would be bent forever.

Jumping down from the three, the nimble Tulita hit the ground running after a tumble to absorb most of the impact - he had seen enough, the strangers were heading directly into Moamasu lands - tradition dictated they would have to be informed of the traditions to be respected, and the areas barred to them, unless invited. From the corner of the eye he spotted two of his brothers already on their elevated watch positions.

The jungle floor felt soft under his feet as he ran, the leaves that brushed against his body and face were soft - in spite of not looking like it, this was a well used path for the tribesmen, a route that seemed as dense as the remaining jungle around it, but set through soft foliage - it allowed them to move fast without risking injury or poison. He welcomed the feel of dew splashing against his face, it made him fully aware of his surroundings, and he had also been told it made his bronzed skin gleam in a most appealing manner.

Quickly navigatinghis route, he approached the rock ladden bend from the opposing side, swiftly climbing on top of the small hillock, where he knew he would be seen. He stood there, knowing the foreigners would soon arrive.

"Wait strangers!" - his voice sounded well after they had seen, and approached Zemwaar - "I am Zemwaar of the Moamasu tribe, and I am here to welcome you to our lands! If you wish to proceed, please listen to our ways, or as you would call them, LAWS" - he announced in a clear, strong voice. He smelled the alcohol in them, and heard their derisive tones and laughs, but remained steadfast - "Will you listen?" - he waited.

A hawk screech in the distance - he was not attentive enough. No, no hawk, it was Renteera his brother, and a warning he did not recognize until too late. His shoulder exploded in pain well before he heard the cracking sound, as if a thunder had landed amidst the foreigners - the impact was even more surprising, sending him spinning to the left, tumbling down the side of the small elevation he found himself on. He had been hit by arrows before, and this was no arrow - it burned as if it was on fire, forcing him to grit his teeth not to scream out in pain.

Regaining his focus, and ignoring the multiple scrapes and bruises, he got back up, confident his brothers would soon be there also - two leaps got him back on the top, his hands and feet firmly grasping the rocky hillock side. His last step to the top was instead a jump, as he came vaulting over the crest, two feet poised ahead, and hitting the first of them brutally in the chest - Zemwaar felt more than heard the crack of bone under his feet, as the foreigner was lanched several feet back, falling and laying there, without moving.
