Here is my submission (from ♣️♠️Magic♦️♥️).
I'd been looking for a good place to play an Inquisitor character, and I think he came out really great. Decided against using a template, as I prefer to stick with one class and stay leveled in it.
I'd love critique and suggestions from anyone, not just the GM.

![]() |

Here's the Intro for Abaos!
@Gm: You had mentioned Rite Publishing already, so I'm running off the assumption the Luckbringer class is ok. If not, I'll move him to a Swashbuckler (Flying Blade). Never had a balance issue with them before, if that helps.

A word about this recruitment. I will be going out of town from this coming friday to the 3rd of January for the holidays. I plan to try and check this thread occasionally during that period depending on my access to a computer. I plan to make final decisions on the 5th and begin play on the 6th of January. So everyone has plenty of time to hash out their characters. If anyone has questions about the setting feel free to ask. I would also recommend reading the Belkzen and Lastwall Pathfinderwiki entries for anyone who'd like some additional info on the area.

Adrimohka Aodara |

Here is OSW's submission, Adrimohka Aodara - Human Female Monk (Harrow Warden) 2/ Paladin (Chosen One) 1. The Chosen One provides a familiar - I chose the Ioun Wyrd - let me know if that is a problem.
The flavour of a Chosen One's familiar is that is the religious/spiritual guide of the Paladin, so given Adrimohka's overzealous Harrow-reading, the ioun-wyrd is her instructor and teacher.
Both archetypes and familiar are hyperlinked to d20PFSRD for ease...not sure if their names have been changed from Golarion-flavour.

I'm going to make a profile if selected. Noticed there aren't a lot of arcane casters and I've wanted to try out the newer Gathlain race. So here's Ellagaria a hex channeler/winter witch
She's a solid mix of arcane caster, skill monkey, and healer. LAter developments will include selective channeling, and a bunch of the "Extra Hex" feats.
Pale green hair and eyes paired with bronze skin and wings of bark and leaves mark her as fey blooded. Her easy smile marks her as kind and to some attractive.

She's picked up quite a few languages in her travels and she's rather fond of speaking with animals. She has an agreement with Roy her war trained Bison who acts as pack animal and guard beast and her familiar Gale a bright Raven that can speak who acts as spellbook and scout.
Ellagara enjoys magical power and oddly helping others. Her ambition's are hedonistic, she wants a good group of friends and possibly a lover that are invested in her comfort and pleasure. She wants to fight in Belkzen because she is not fond of orcs but also because she's curious to see if there's any remnants of the Whispering Tyrant's power to lay claim to.
Secret she knows- She has enemies in Irrisen that would like to turn her into a winter-touched fey against her will.
Secret she doesn't- There's a decent bounty on her.

Belier’s Bite adds bleed damage.
Power Attack is always an option.
Heavy Hitter trait is +1 unarmed damage.
As human...
Feat: Ancestral Heritage Frost Giant
Feat 2: Born of Frost (+1d6 cold damage unarmed attacks)
Trait: Northern Ancestry (+1 fort and cold Resistance 2)
Make paladin into Enlightened Paladin.
Counts 1/2 level as Monk for unarmed strike damage
Cha To AC up to paladin level when light or Unarmored
Great for monk multiclass

Adrimohka Aodara |

Thanks for the advice Drazh!
I have changed the Paladin archetype to Enlightened:
- I was looking for a Multiclass option, but I couldn't find it
- I didn't really want a familiar (too easy to scout)
- I'm happy not to have Detect Evil (a little problematic I find)
- Personal Trial and Aura of Law much better reflect Adrimohka's mindset - on the path of the Harrow, a system governed by Law (of Chance) and involving many trials...at least as I interpret it through a Tarot-lens.
Although for some reason Adrimohka's avatar looks blue skinned, I think the Frost Giant Schtick is a little forced for her background. Nice feats for a monk though!!!
I think I'll swap one of my traits to Heavy Hitter...
Bleeding Attack/Belier's Bite looks a little odd - the mechanics are great, but the flavour feels a little sparse. I'll leave that to DM Malleus to yay or nay...

Chromantic Durgon <3 |

I have 4 Character ideas for this thread xD so this is gonna be one long submission post xD I'll make an alias and a sheet for one of them if they make the cut.
For now here is the background.
You'll notice none of them are templated because I have no idea what to attach to the characters.
Character Submission
Amara, Haunted Human oracle of the bones.
Mechanically She'll make a passable tertiary melee character through her Scythe but her main contribution will be through her powerful necromantic spells and her undead warriors.
I intend to focus on 2-4 bigger zombies than a cluster of small ones but if need be or big meaty high HD corpses aren't accessible then tarpitting enemies with many mini skellybobs is a possibility too.
Background
Alignment: Lawful Evil. I know this could be a tricky diplomatic situation but like you said, the alignment restrictions don't really apply to the strike teams you're looking for. And Amara isn't haha cackle silly evil.
She's more of a utilitarian that uses necromancy and has a nasty habit (which shes trying to work on) of taking things too personally.
Amara has some minor personal interest in the, she grew up there after all, but that is not her major concern. She didn't exactly enjoy her childhood in the Vigil, being haunted didn't make things in the holier than though city fun.
Hence she moved out into the sticks a little bit, although seclusion doesn't suit her well.
More important that those personal interests to her though are the historic ones, ages back the Vigil was tied to the binding of the Whispering Tyrant. She is by no means interested in his release or anything silly like that, but his research is another matter.
He ties to the world of necromancy seem to be her destiny as she figures she may as well be good at it.
Secret She knows: In her mid teens before she moved away from civilization Amara had a rather fiery little love interest which ended in the tragic death her beloved Jonathon, during a violent manifestation of her at that time unchecked powers.
Secret She doesn't: Jonathon's spirit never quite made it to the boneyard and since Amara left for the Belkzan it's been gaining power. Jonathon isn't so happy Amara moved on.
Character Submission
Ronald, Hobgoblin Grenadier Alchemist.
Mechanically bit of a skills monkey with his high int investment, mostly providing ranged support through bomds and infusions providing buffs to his party.
Background
Alignment: Long time Chaotic Neutral on a path towards Chaotic good
Ronald is a at heart a salesman, it just so happens that quite often whatever he's selling isn't legal. Either its not his to sell, or more often than not, he made it, and its not exactly passed health and safety regulations.
He's even enjoyed some trade beyond the wall in the passed, a fact which he has recently decided he is not best pleased about in retrospect.
He doesn't much care who he's selling to, or why so long as they're paying over the odds. Until recently at least.
Secret he knows: Some of the alchemical weapons he's been selling may have had a hand in some recent casualties incurred by Vigil. Casualties who he may have known personally.
Secret he doesn't: The people he sold them too are on the hunt for him, and more of his wares.
Character Submission
Methuselah Mort, Human Phantom Blade Spiritualist
Mechanically
Kind of like a black blade only a spiritualist, Strength based and using the spiritualist spell list obviously, so more support based than a Magus. I'll be honest before level 4 this archetype struggles as casting defensively is pretty hard for psychic casters at low levels, concentration checks being so high for them.
At level 4 they can focus themselves as a swift so that they don't have to beat the extra 10 for concentration checks for thought components.
For example, to cast in a threatened area at level 3 Artem needs to beat a 27 to cast a level 1 spell.
Between traits, feats, CL and his Wis at level 3 he has a +11, at level 4 with a swift he needs to make a 17 with a +12.
So yeah. I don't mind waiting till level 4 for that but I was wondering if perhaps you'd be interested in allowing that ability at level 3? Makes the character run a lot more smoothly and I don't think it unbalances anything.
Background
Alignment: Neutral Good
Meth as he likes to be called experienced terrible tragedy from a young age, living in a communal house where-in many poverty stricken congregate he experienced a terrible fire. Though his family escaped safely many other that he had grown up around were not so lucky.
Fortunately before he could sink into a quagmire of misery following this disaster he was pulled into the light by his ever positive father. Thought Meth's life continued to be fraught with misery, it could never seem to stick to him. So much so that eventually he found it coalesced, took shape, the form of weapon.
Shakily, without form at first, although this was soon took more solid form, as a weapon he had oft fantasized over learning to wield.
He also found that his new arms came with a name and a personality, it called itself misery. To Meth's thinking an overly somber and not all to subtle decision, although Meth has found over the years that to his very great amusement himself and Misery are quite staunchly opposed philosophically speaking. Naturally this amusement irritates misery beyond words.
Now Meth answers the call hoping to help defend the weak. An idealism which sets Misery's figurative teeth on edge.
Secret he knows: I haven't thought of one for this yet.
Secret he doesn't: One of the Paladins within the institution believes Meth's manifesting of misery to be a dark and evil force that brings misfortune to the whole of last wall.
Character Submission
Artem, Human Spiritualist
Mechanically
Supportive spell casting backed up by an intimidate focused Melee build, which will take a while to get going but it also backed up by having Wisdom investment and supportive magic.
+the added benefit of an anger phantasm for the front lines, neither Artem or Galad his phantom could function as a primary front line fighter, but they'd both make decent secondary melee characters so they bring a bit of meat to the party.
Background
Alignment: Neutral Good
Long time artist, historian, and general bookish bore Artem isn't your typical adventurer, until recently he wasn't an adventurer at all.
That was until the death of a half orc artistic apprentice named Galad, short tempered boy not suited to exploration of the arts ended up running off to join the cause and fight. Didn't end very well for him.
With the loss of an apprentice Artem made some gains he'd never expected. The phantasmagorical variety, shortly after the news of the death of Galad Artem began to experience chills and bumps in the night. Which shortly there after manifest into a full blown haunting. As it turns out Galad's rage at his early death seemed to tether him to the world of mortals and to Artem.
Now Artem moves to belkzan thinking that perhaps if he complete the work at which Galad set about he may finally find peace.
Secret he knows: Galad didn't run off in a rage. Artem banished him frustrated by his youthful impatience and enthusiasm. Artem banished him to his death.
Secret he doesn't: Galad disclosed the truth and his banishment to a nurse at his barracks before his death.

I'm going to put together an app for this- going for something cavalier themed, focusing more on the maneuverability aspects of scouting than direct subterfuge and infiltration. Whenever possible, I'll want to be fighting from horseback.
I do have a question though: are dreamscared press's path of war and/or psionics allowed? And furthermore, is variant multiclassing an option?

Oceanshieldwolf |

@Chromantic Durgon <3 - I'll be honest - seeing someone submit 4 concepts looks like gaming the system. I'd be fairly disappointed and a little irritated if I was passed over and one of yours was selected. And if we all put down 4 it would be crazy busy.
Having said that, I really like the Bones Oracle concept. My first PbP Character was a Bones Oracle. Of Pharasma. Yeeeah. About that...

♣♠Magic♦♥ |

To be fair, the DM did say we could put in as many entries as we wanted. I do think 4 is a but excessive all at once, though.
Personally I only ever submit one per game, because I build them from scratch for the game to fit in the world and tone of the campaign. I always have plans for personality and interactions that don't necessarily go on the character sheet. Doing that more than once would be really exhausting, especially knowing only one of them would possibly be chosen.

Oceanshieldwolf |

To be fair, the DM did say we could put in as many entries as we wanted.
Oops. You're right!
Looks like I missed it in THIS POST...Depending on interest or even derp himself submitting additional entries(which is allowed of all) that character may not be selected.
(Emphasis mine)
Apologies Chromantic Durgon!! Carry on...

I have a folder of around 30 pathfinder characters of which I’ve had the chance to play roughly 4.
When I see a campaign which allows multiple character submissions I post characters I think would fit it.
I’m not “gaming” anything. I was just excited. Would you rather I withdraw?

Chromantic Durgon <3 |

I got bored so I made the sheets, didn't bother doing there items and wealth, they'll get that and an alias is you decide to go for any of them.
A couple notes on Methuselah, if you're interested I'd love to discuss Etheric focus and potential early acquisition of it.
Also he takes Disillusioned as a trait but I prefer to re-skin the flavor of ti as something more to do with his massive propensity for positiveness and optimism. Misery can't stick to him hence the sword.
I'd call it irrepressible optimism myself, were I to name the trait.
Couple notes I forgot to mention about Amara of which I was only reminded upon looking at her stat block, I made her about 3 years ago see.
Her Heirloom weapon trait, a Scythe and her Scion of war feat are related, a scythe passed down her family for generations, she has forgotten heritage. Key word forgotten, the only relic being said Scythe. Although the memory of its origin has been lost, it was until Amara left home with it, merely a trinket left in the back of the closet.
The plan would typically be for her to rediscover that heritage over the campaign. The nature of the family itself is intentionally left mutable to fit the DMs design, however given the context of your campaign I suggest it might relate nicely into some sort of high up family with a cult interest in The Whispering Tyrant.
Also I've noticed her background is riddled with typos and at points even incomprehensible. So I'm retyping because its bugging me.

It seems she is tied to the world of necromancy through the threads of fate, indeed perhaps it is her destiny. And she figures she may as well be good at it.

Chromantic Durgon <3 |

Indeed it looks like it could be fun.
Wanna work out if they might know eachother. Amara is haunted perhaps Alma would be drawn to her. Or repelled up to you.
It also looks like I may have misunderstood how the point buy works. Could someone clarify for me?
Also I think I forgot about Ronald’s free feat tax feats .-. How embarrassing

Chyrone |

I'm unsure of precise shot. Point blank i think so...
Edit:
Precise bombs, for an alchemist.
Alma drawn to the necroracle due to haunted, not so much.
She was formed in response to a prayer from a mystic, after all.
She'd more likely be wary of any who are capable of controlling the dead.
Which is why investing in disguise is nifty.

Hence the channel resistance presumably.
By all means if you want her to already be aware and therefore weary of Amara should they both get selected, I wouldn't mind.
I should clarify I feel. By drawn I meant like a kinda of magnetic thing. Not like a oh she seems nice kinda thing.

Michael7123 |

It would be helpful if we could get a complete list of the feats we can unlock from having high enough stats, just to ensure everyone is on the same page. I only really need power attack, but having others would be night.
On the RP side of things- decided I'm going to make a character from Molthune. More to come later tonight or tommorow.

Faolan Baran |

My background and crunch can be seen in my alias. Let me know if you'd like me to explain anything, change anything, whatever. :)
I’ve DMed and Played on these boards for a few years now and been in the D&D realm for a few decades. I’ve always been an active and supportive player in every game. Please feel free to peruse my aliases and campaigns for examples.
If selected, I can also help with treasure notes if you like. I have a useful spreadsheet that I use in campaigns I'm in to help track that sort of thing so you don’t have to. You should be able to see a version of it here (link).
I humbly submit that this breaks the build intent and I ask you to rule instead that I can re-shoulder the shield at the end of the round as a free action so I can use it to protect myself (Shield to AC) on the opponents turn. That certainly seems intended - the whole trick of the Shield Champion is to throw and retrieve while being all cool looking. ;) Further, the archetype is by no means overpowered, and requires a number of feats to do well and additional cash, which detracts from other options I may have as a brawler.
How do you want to rule? I’m fine with any ruling, and do not plan to change the build, I’ll just make do if you disagree. :)
- - -

Chromantic Durgon <3 |

I can confirm the shield champion is by no means overpowered and Faolan's suggestion would not brake anything.
I've made one myself. I always struggle with how long it takes for Shield master to come online myself.
Faolan have you looked at Startoss style? its a nice little build avenue for the shield champion.

With just under a week left in recruitment, something I like to do to help new applicants and the DM is to put together a list of completed characters. Please let me know if I missed anyone! I'm only listing characters that are presented as complete, so no "I'm thinking of ______ and _______."
I can't really divide them well into roles or etc since many folks are filling mixed roles, so I'll just list them in submission order:
Player-Character-Race-Class
Grumbaki-Drazh Anviltamer-Dwarf-Ranger
Chyrone-Alma the Soulborn-Ghost-Deathless Ghost
Digger Chandler-Sezelrian Tharandah-Elf-Investigator
Lekkric-Odoacer von Kriegsburg-Human-Cleric
Derpidruid-Elsmon DegromSlagsun-Dwarf-Artisan
Dereru-Sean Gallagher-Human-Sentinel
♣️♠️Magic♦️♥️-Michael Telroth-Aasimar-Inquisitor
Artemis P.-Abaos-Ifrit-Luckbringer?(Swashbuckler)
Jovich-Hjorleaf Asvidrson-Human-Fighter
GM_Solspiral-Ellagaria-Gathlain-Winter Witch
Chromantic Durgon-
1. Amara-Human-Oracle of Bones
2. Ronald-Hobgoblin-Alchemist
3. Methuselah Mort-Human-Spiritualist
4. Artem-Human-Spiritualist
Euan-Faolan Baran-Human-Brawler
And that should be everyone so far. Some that submitted aliases are not on here because they withdrew interest later. 12 folks interested with 15 total characters submitted.

Michael7123 |

Michael, i'd not think it impossible to see a few undead.
Lastwall is guarding the Whispering Tyrant's tomb after all.
But that's just my personal thought.♣♠Magic♦♥ , Deathless ghost is a race with levels.
A ghost version of a ghost...little odd. ^^
I'm thinking something more related to the plane of shadow. Molthune (where my character is from) shares a border with Nidal, which has heavy ties with the plane of shadow.
I'm also strongly considering the Ariel creature template, as gaining the ability to fly and adding electric damage to natural attacks is pretty awesome.
That's the tough part, tbh, depending on the GM picking her or not.
Anything benefiting CHA, obviously.
Paladin is a no-go, for obvious reasons, even though CHA to saves is [woohoo].I guess it will partially lean on how the game would develop, and what other classes are around.
The mesmerist occult class is pretty good. Charisma based Spellcasting, and at level 2 you add your CHA Mod to all will saves. Although, as an undead, I don't know how often you'll have to make those. It's sill a good class though.
