DM Rickmeister |
@Bayani: The logs look sturdy enough!
@Dex Hannover: Sorry guy, you're out of the game. Haven't heard anything from you in too long..
@Theor: You notice something is swimming in the river, upstream, not far from the logs. You think the water could be swum, but whatever is in there might spoil your day.
Bayani: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

J: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Horatius and Bayani are making their way across the loggs without problem. As Horatius prepares to step of the logs, an axe swings from the canopy above, and slices into Horatius and Bayani's shoulder. Horatius is still standing, but Bayani falls down immediately. His body is lieing on the logs, bleeding into the river.
Trap vs Horatius: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27 >> 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 1) + 4 = 9

Perception Theor: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Autch.. Sorry Bayani!
Darius Marel |
Darius movess up and investiagtes the casue of these injuries, fearing a trap of some sort. He tries to determine if there are more in the area, and if the ones that were sprung will reset in any way.
Perception for Trapfinding: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 1 = 17
Theor Garess |
As the others begin to cross Theor motions to the river. "Stay out of the water, there are likely beasts within we don't want to have to deal with"
Seeing Bayani fall, and smelling the blood his hands tense as he breaths in the fresh scent of a wounded creature, licking his lips. After a moment, realizing what has happened he shakes his head snapping himself back to reality and moves up to assist Darius in looking for anything out of the ordinary.
Perception to aid: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
DM Rickmeister |
Right when Horatius turns around to see Bayani fall to the ground, he hears a whizzing sound that sounds all too familiar. An arrow or a crossbow bolt, no doubt. It fails to connect.
Map is up!
Darius, I don't believe 'looking' is an action so you can have your turn now!
Darius Marel |
Darius will move quickly, taking a double move to corss the bridge and step to the west side a couple of paces. He scans the treeline for signs of the archer who shot at Horatius.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
DM Rickmeister |
Everyone notices a small crocodile exiting the water, and heading for Darius! It attempts to take a piece out of him, but fails miserably!
Theor, Bayani, Horatius, you're up!
Horatius Lartius |
Snarling in anger and pain Horatius is quickly distracted from the bladed trap that nearly took off his head to an arrow whistling by. Just as he is about to hunt down his attacker a great reptile bursts from the river and attacks Darius.
Letting out a sound somewhere between a battle cry and a howl he steps forward to strike the creature.
Attack (power attack) : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Damage (PA) : 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (4, 2) + 7 = 13
5' step, draw sword, attack

Theor Garess |
HighWeap: 1d100 ⇒ 75
Theor excited by combat nearly forgets his weapon again but manages to grab it and moves up to attack the crocidile.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Not sure if I can make it there or not.
DM Rickmeister |
Another arrow flies past, the aim too wide to hurt anyone.
Horatius, don't forget the healing.
Darius, you're up!
Darius Marel |
Darius feels his blood start to boil, and he bares his teeth, snarling a bit.
Dark black hairs sprout on his hands, wrists, and face, and his eyes take on a more yellowish hue.
With spit dripping from his mouth, and tenaciously clinging to his humanity, he swings his sword at the crocodile with a crazed slash.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
DM Rickmeister |
Painful eyes, short post, sry!
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 >> 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
The crocodile succesfully bites Darius!
Theor, Bayani, Horatius, you're up!
Horatius Lartius |
Focused on the reptile before him Horatius begins to instinctively circle the creature as he strikes.
5' step north
Attack (PA) : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Damage (PA) : 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (2, 3) + 7 = 12
Confirm : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Damage : 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (4, 1) + 7 = 12
The feral fury rises up again putting a brutal strength into the blow. Blood flies and it's warm splash upon his face is not unwelcome. The paladin nearly howls in elation before regaining control. Shocked and appalled at the feelings flooding his mind he uses the threat of the unseen archer to refocus himself on the task at hand.
DM Rickmeister |
Eyes are recovering rapidly! Huzzah!
Horatius, keeping track of your damage with the trap and the healing from our cleric?
The combined effort from Theor and Horatius takes down the crocodile.
Kumari, you're up!
DM Rickmeister |
1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 - 4 = 15 >> 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
The crocodile gets back up on its feet, as the healing magic washes over friend and foe alike! Its attack against Horatius was succesful!
T:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 >> 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Confirm: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 >> 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
At the same time an arrow flies from the undergrowth somewhere, knocking Horatius down with such force you wouldn't believe.
Darius, Theor, Bayani, Horatius, you're up!
Sorry, rolled it simultaneously to save some time.
Darius Marel |
With a bestial fury fairly glowing in his eyes, Darius steps up opposite Horatius and stabs at the crocodile!
Attack: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 2 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
SNEAK ATTACK!: 1d6 ⇒ 5
A closer look at Darius' face reveals that his nose and mouth are starting to stretch a bit, and there are two noticeable bumps above his mouth.
Bayani Nishu |
The crocodile went unconscious again after biting, since it was at 0 and taking a standard action when you are disabled causes you 1 pt of damage. Maybe go after the archer instead? Or are you putting it down to make sure it stays dead this time?
Horatius Lartius |
Horatius takes a vicious bite to the leg followed by an arrow to the shoulder. The blow spins him around and he falls to the ground.
Stabilize roll : 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 3 - 4 = 18
Stable at -4
DM Rickmeister |
Added "T" the archer on the map. She appears to be a female elf, with a strong looking bow. I'm going to let Theor shout out somethign to you.
Kumari, you're up!
DM Rickmeister |
The elven woman looks at Theor with disgust in her eyes, and draws another one of her arrows. She looks undecided wether or not she should retreat after she misses him point-blank.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 > 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Bayani Nishu |
Bayani gasps and opens his eyes. He glances around trying to see what's going on. perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Seeing the elf woman in the bushes, he grabs his rapier from where it fell from his hand, stands up, and shouts at her in elven:
I think that would take up my entire turn, move action to pick up the rapier, and move action to stand.
DM Rickmeister |
You can 5FS closer :)
The woman shouts something in Elven.
Bayani Nishu |
Ok moved 5 ft closer
Hopefully she means they are aberrations because they are transformed, not because they're human, Bayani thinks.
Bayani walks off the log and, assuming she doesn't attack him before he gets there, moves 30 ft to be adjacent to the speaker. He readies an action: If she starts to attack again, he will cast Shocking Grasp and attack her with it.
Concentration check to cast defensively: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Melee Touch attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
DM Rickmeister |
Wait, i think you doubled, no?
' Get up and pick up
' Move and ready? /confused
Oh, and trees are difficult terrain, so count as 2 squares for movement.
Everyone else, do your thing.
Bayani Nishu |
Somehow I thought this was the next round. Nevermind then. That would be my next round action, except the difficult terrain makes it impossible. OK I moved my icon back on the map, ignore everything there except the RP, and hopefully I can keep those roles for when/if I do attack.
DM Rickmeister |
Yup, no problem, keep em for your next concentration/attack roll in this combat. Communication error, it's cool :D
Kumari Azar |
Hearing the archer and Bayani exchange words, Kumai hopes this person may be reasoned with.
"Please lay down your arms, we do not wish to hurt you."
Moving forward, Kumari lets her crossbow drop to her side and raises one hand towards the archer as if in greeting.
Ready action to firebolt her if she does not comply.
Feel free to roll that if the time comes. +4 touch attack 1d6+1
Darius Marel |
With a raging fury in his eyes, Darius throws down his sword. His fingernails have now grown nto short, stubby claws, and his teeth seem larger and sharper. He bares them as he rushes around to cut off the archer's retreat.
Double move to get around to archer's north side
Rickmeister |
The elven woman looks at Theor with disgust in her eyes, and draws another one of her arrows. She looks undecided wether or not she should retreat after she misses him point-blank.
Everyone got one action after this round.
Darius, Kumari, Bayani all did something.Theor and Horatius, you're up!
DM Rickmeister |
Horatius, what you gonna do? Get up and limp away? :P
Horatius Lartius |
Shaking off the pain of his wounds Horatius rises and retrieves his sword. He locks eyes with the archer, fury evident in his stare.
Move action to get up, move action to pickup his sword
DM Rickmeister |
The elven woman looks at Darius and Theor, her mouth ripe with disgust. She drops her bow, and takes her clearly elven blade as she attempts to strike Darius' arterial vein.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16 > 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
DM Rickmeister |
Theor, Bayani and Horatius are up, then followed by Kumari and Darius.
