Bayani Nishu |
Not sure where Bayani or any of the others are exactly. Is a map on its way?
Bayani replenishes the arcane energy of his rapier (used 1 more Arcane point) as he notices the aggressive behavior of these men.
Waiting on action until I see where any of them are. Currently, Readied action: attack any hostile that comes within range of Bayani's attacks, either with rapier, or ray of frost if attacking someone other than Bayani.
DM Rickmeister |
Isn't the map under my name working?
You all get one turn, as they are not yet really "up and about".
Horatius Lartius |
Concerned about the amount of space between the scouts and the rest of the party and having lost sight of a few of them Horatius quietly says, "Let's move up." before advancing.
Assuming surprise round so a single move up
DM Rickmeister |
You can take an entire round Horatius, no problem.
Darius: awake but lying down yes. Do enough subdual damage and they will "fall asleep".. ;)
Darius Marel |
Well, here goes nothing. If anything, at least it's in character
Darius rushes over to the logger lying down nearby and attempts to strike him with the flat of his blade. (non-lethal)
Subdual attempt: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 3 - 4 = 14
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Look at my mighty rougish muscles!. Anyway, I believe that being prone, the logger is at -4 to AC, but I did not factor that into my roll.
DM Rickmeister |
Darius, he's technically still flat-footed I believe so I will allow you to roll sneak attack aswell. And yes, he's at minus 4 to AC? but you can simply add +4 to your attack (and put "prone" at the end of the sentence, so I know why. :)
Bayani and Kumari, you're up!
Bayani Nishu |
Ah, didn't see the map. OK. In that case, after Darius attacks, Bayani will join him... but does he notice the rogue using nonlethal? Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 Guess so!
Bayani follows Darius out of hiding and joins him in giving the strange human a firm smack on the back of the head with the pommel of his rapier. Attack, rapier, nonlethal, arcane pool, prone: 1d20 + 4 + 1 - 4 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 1 - 4 + 4 = 16
If that hits: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 nonlethal
Theor Garess |
Hrm where is the one guy that was under the bush? I was staying close to him to be able to attack if something happened. (As per my previous post) Am I just in the wrong place or are the NPC locations not updated?
DM Rickmeister |
Theor, updated your location. Must have missd that :)
Darius and Bayani, I updated your position but you may move yourself on the map.
The man receives two hits from Darius and Bayani, but is stumbling upright. He doesn't look right, but the anger that is building in his eyes keeps him awake, and he is ready to attack.
Darius and Bayani, he will stand up in his turn, so please post attacks of opportunity if you want.
Bayani Nishu |
AoO, arcane pool, nonlethal, prone: 1d20 + 4 + 1 - 4 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 + 1 - 4 + 4 = 20 AoO's occur in a way that interrupts the action that provokes them, so until his stand-up action is complete, he's still prone.
Damage, nonlethal: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Theor Garess |
Theor senses the oncoming fight and feels a tingle at the back of his neck. His lip snarrels as he squints at the nearest enemy. He drops his weapon and runs at the man. Spots of fur seem to grow over his arms, razor like claws seem to grow from his fingers and his mouth takes on a slightly wolf-like shape with teeth to match. Jumping onto the man he starts clawing and biting at him like a wild animal.
Bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Claw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Damage: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Claw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Damage: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
DM Rickmeister |
Theor, I don't think you can claw+claw+bite if you don't have pounce. I could be wrong, but I'll take simply take the first roll now unless you can tell me why you *can* do all three, ok? :)
When the man attempts to stand up, Darius' obviously fake attacks give the perfect opening for Bayani to knock him out with the blunt of his sword.
In the meantime Theor sprints to the one that was hiding behind him and claws his face open. He growls and attempts to return the favour, but the claws are easily dodged. His sharp teeth however sink into your side, and you feel blood gushing out.
Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
> 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Anyone that hasn't had a go yet in round one, go ahead, I'm kinda lost in initiative. We'll go to round 2 now, so Horatius & Kumari and Darius, you're up!
((L1 is considered KO))
Horatius Lartius |
Horatius looks about for foes but none seem apparent. Suddenly he notes a scent on the breeze and his head jerks almost of its own accord to his left. Moving towards one of the buildings in move of a lope than a walk he finds one of the loggers that had been trying to sneak up on the party. With a growl he lunges forward at the interloper only at the last second remembering himself and turning the blade as to not skewer the man.
Attack to subdue : 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 5 - 4 = 21
Damage : 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 6) + 4 = 12
Confimation : 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 5 - 4 = 2
If successful : 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 2) + 4 = 10
The effort to contain the surge of aggression detracts from his precision but his long hours of training still shine through.
DM Rickmeister |
How far is this Kumari?
Don't have to do it right away, but try to trigger it in combat.
Horatius smacks the man upside his head, and he has trouble stayiing upright.
Darius, you're up!
Darius Marel |
What's happening, even my friends are turning into crazed beasts! I'm not sure, but I think we ned to end this fight soon!
Darius takes a double move action to get 10' to the right of Horatius, who seems more in control of himself.
"Hang on Horatius, help is on the way!"
I moved my token.
Horatius Lartius |
When Darius nears the Paladin it becomes obvious that he is not himself. Hair is apparent on his face as if he has gone unshaven for days and his canine teeth now extend prominently. The exposed backs of his hands are fur covered and thick claws now end each digit.
Turning his head Horatius regards Darius with eyes a deep brown color rather than their former blue. Sniffing the air he seems to recognize his companion and turns his attention back to the logger.
Bayani Nishu |
Bayani calls out to Kumari in her native tongue.
(Bayani has no ranks in heal.)
DM, I've drawn a line on the map from Bayani's current location to the square next to Theor. The Run action requires that you run in a straight line, and there cannot be difficult terrain in the path you need to run. Does the line represent a path that Bayani could take that would avoid difficult terrain? If so, that is my action for this round.
DM Rickmeister |
Bayani: I changed the line a bit, this would be perfect for a run action. Is that all right for you?
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 >> 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 >> 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 >> 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
The logger is going crazy, trying to scratch and bite but Horatius reacts ferociously and holds back the man's attacks.
Bayani and Theor: attack!
Theor Garess |
Theor continues his assualt trying to rip through the mans flesh.
Bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Claw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Damage: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Claw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Damage: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Blah the dice are against me :*(
DM Rickmeister |
Okay dokay! In that case: Horatius, Kumari and Darius!
Edit: I think I made a boo-boo somewhere with L2 and L3 but meh, let's go with the fowl ;)
Horatius Lartius |
The whirl of battle around him is matched by the struggle within as the Paladin seeks to keep control of the new feral urges that surge within him. "Erastil give me strength to fight this foul taint." he prays trying to focus his thoughts.
With his attention turned inward Horatius can feel himself losing touch with the fight before him. Hoping to end it quickly he strikes out with the pummel of his sword.
Attack (non-lethal) - 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 5 - 4 = 20
Damage - 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 5) + 4 = 10
Confirm - 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 5 - 4 = 19
Damage - 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 1) + 4 = 8
The blow strikes true but lands far heavier than the Paladin intended, the taints strength fueling his strike. An audible crack issues from the mans skull where the pummel connects.
Hopefully not too much of that is lethal..doh
DM Rickmeister |
Yikes Horatius, with your previous attack that lands you on 30 dmg.
Horatius blade flickers against the light as the pummel descends and breaks the man's nose and part of his jawbone. He crashes to the floor by the impact of the greatsword, and has a few more sputters of blood gushing out from the center of his face. He has but a few moments to spare.
IC: He is on the virge of the true death. Either someone stabilizes him right now, or he's a goner!
Bayani Nishu |
I beg to differ, DM -- Horatius stated he was doing nonlethal damage, and took the penalty, which only turns into lethal after it exceeds total HP. The logger currently has 16 NL damage, 14 Lethal, which puts him unconscious but not dying.
Bayani calls to Theor, "I know not what madness has overtaken you, but we need these men alive!"
DM Rickmeister |
Ah yes, thank you. So any *excess* (non-)lethal dmg now will result in lethal dmg right?
The winds sweeps through the village!
DM Rickmeister |
Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 >> 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14 >> 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
The man and Theor are fighting, and they become a whirlwind of claws and teeth flashing. The logger manages to find a single opening, and slashes Theor on the inside of his left leg. Theor gnashes his teeth, but doesn't back down.
Everyone is up! Bayani and Theor from this turn, and then Horatius, Kumari and Darius for the next turn.
I'll assume Kumari stabilizes the other logger, and Darius continues restraining the logger? If you can find me a decent time estimate (x rounds) I would thank you immensely. :)
Bayani Nishu |
Bayani moves 10 ft forward to stand beside Theor, and makes a nonlethal attack against the logger. Rapier, Arcane pool, nonlethal: 1d20 + 4 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 1 - 4 = 5 He misses wildly.
Theor Garess |
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Theor notices Bayani approaching and hesitates a breif moment before remembering her as a friend, he then turns back to his foe to attack.
Bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Claw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Damage: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Claw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Damage: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
DM Rickmeister |
The man that Theor was fighting only managed to get him angrier than he already was. Hastened by the arrival of a potential rival, his anger takes him higher as he scratches and claws and bites the man almost to death.
The man is standing, but barely.
Horatius Lartius |
Once the man before him crumples to the ground Horatius loses all focus on the events around him. Dropping his sword and stumbling a bit he covers his face with his clawed hands. Breath by breath he seeks to calm his boiling blood and racing heart. After a few moments he regains a semblance of control and, his thoughts returned to the present, looks about to see how his companions fare.
Horatius takes the round to get a grip
Kumari Azar |
Kumari runs over to stabilize the logger. Immediately after she starts looking over her clawed companions to see how far any lycanthropy has advanced.
Heal: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
"You fools! If you have not been feeling yourself, why did you not mention anything? When were you bit? Was it the hunters in the garden?"
Horatius Lartius |
Not sure if Kumari is near me or not but assuming so...
Horatius turns to face Kumari, "Arre otherrrs so afflicted?" he asks with concern. His speech is a bit hard to understand, his longer canine teeth and altered jaw clearly causing him some trouble. Everything also seems to come out with a bit of a growl which only makes understanding worse.
"I've not been bitten as farr as I know. When we began our attack I felt my blood begin to boil and violent urges pushed at my mind. I can only guess that the druids spells are at the rroot of this." He shakes his head a bit before continuing, "Even now I feel as if my thoughts are clouded. I am myself howeverr."
