Sorry for the slow going recently, i've been working on a big project i want to publish in the DM's guild and I've never been so focussed, I keep forgetting to check my PbPs.

Using the key would have required a check too? Well that sucks. Guessing it was the rust. Don't suppose I could try and fix the lock, or rather try to get the pick out by connecting the two pieces of the pick together? I don't have much time currently so I'll fashion a proper post later tonight when I can.

I supose picking the lock was actually our best shot as i imagine none of us has expertise in old keys.

More than likely. I agree it makes sense that the key was just as likely to break the lock as your pick was to break off in it, but still. Not often you see a roll for using a key on the proper door, lol. No offense intended, AP's can be odd creatures.

But yeah, odds are Hutch will knock the thing off its hinges. That or Vorrak?

Despite Venali's reaction, it's nice to have the tunnel open rather than stuck fast forever. But... a veteran charging straight into the open? Well, I don't completely agree on that tactic, lol. But, it's your/your character's prerogative.

Honestly, it would have been nice not to have been thrown straight out into the open like that. Take the time while in the tunnel to put on the cloaks. Maybe persuade Vak to let us have his so that we, for all intents and purposes, come out looking like cultists with a kobold and a dragonborn. *shrug* It's not like we aren't going to come across a bunch of them on the way to the temple as it is.

But that's neither here nor there. Adopt, adapt, and improve. XP

Hutch does not care for his life. He won't throw it away needlessly, but based on the last fight these guys Hutch is pretty sure they are no threat to him.

First up, things have been going slowly, and I apologize. I'm working on a few projects both private and hopefully soon job related and as such i often forget to check here even when I am taking some time off.

Zilyana Elfslayer has bowed out of the game for personal reasons.

No sign from Vorrak recently. I messaged him with no answer thus far. I could glean from his posting history that he's probably busy at the moment, so I will not remove him just yet, but bot his character instead.

I will mobilize a replacement for Zilyana.

It looks like y'all have some extracurriculars going on, so I'll just hang tight a spell until Threeshades gives me the nod.

The RNG gods can be fickle... I might need to pick up a bow at some point as well.

Pained seems like a crappy word to use there but... *shrug*. Also, Frostbite is great when they fail, but I wish I had another ranged cantrip in a way. Not sure what to take next, was leaning toward Shocking Grasp, other damage types are always a good thing, but I feel Ray of Frost would be a bit more useful for the melee members of the party.

Just gonna say walking in the Chill Uniform could help deal with both sides. Just put it over my armor.

And yes Hutch will collect the heads of his big Kills. Get them stuffed. It all starts with this Drake. In the case of any of the basic races he will take a different trophy but if I encounter anything else like a dragon or something, heck even wyverns. Really anything monsterous, and Hutch gets the killing blow he will take its head. Or in the case of giant dragons horn or tooth or heart.


Could become an interesting collection.

A question for all of you: Would you like to move to Roll20.net for battlemaps?
I originally didn't want to go with the service because it takes a while to load up every time, but its more convenient for tracking damage and conditions, and scaling maps and tokens properly. Also it prevents accidentally grabbing and moving the map around.

You would only need an account on roll20 (which is free).

OK so here is my idea. Hutch flings off the robe, revealing the Drake head in his hands and telling the remained people they are next. He will place it on the ground, start some killing the go back to keep his trophie safe. This cloak is also a trophy. I will probly use it to hold my trophies though, using it like a sack after this battle.

I love roll20. I don't mind the 20 second loading page, and it seems easy enough to use.

I'm fine with roll20 for the battlemap and such.

As for planning, as soon as the coast was clear I was planning to run up to the door and try and get the attention of those inside, let them know we came at the governor's request and try and get them out of there before the circling party came back. Not sure how long that would take, assuming they even believe it. So things would need to be timed so that they start leaving not long after those circling are moving towards the back.

Though, if only 4 of the kobolds went with the dragonclaw that does pose a problem, but one I'm surr Hutch will love solving. I jist really don't like the idea of trying to fight the circling procession.
