Two paladins, two rogues, two arcane, and a cleric so far...
With the paladins shouting holy fury, the arcane turning everything beyond the paladins into dust, and the cleric boosting everyone... it's going to be easy street for the rogues to knife enemies in the back.
At the moment it certainly looks to be an interesting composition.
Is there a player pack, guide or options for this adventure? I'm happy with the character as is but is there something I am missing?
There is a list of optional bonds and background features. I should have made this available much earlier I suppose.

About the whole saber~rapier~estoc~cutlass thingy. I'm fine with a rapier, they may not be as cool as sabers or szablas but they're still cool :p. I just hope that in the future DnD 5e will receive a more varied and accurate list of weapons.

The Appendix A (page 87) for the Hoard of the Dragon Queen has a few background and feature options, but i don't think anyone is using them. Other than that i haven't really looked into the book so i don't get spoilers.
Aren has lived in academia for most of his life, the 5th son of a successful merchant family, he was not expected to accomplish much, and for a while he lived up to that. After completing his education, he took a position teaching history and planar knowledge while living on a combination of the stipend his inheritance provided and his teacher's salary. This went on for several years, until he received a shipment from a college with an oddly coded note, a book that he could not open, and a talisman of some sort made of clay.
While working late one night, Aren was attacked at his desk by a group of ruffians dressed all in black that were clearly searching his office. During the struggle, the clay talisman was knocked off his desk, and when it hit the ground it exploded with a wierd, multi-colored energy, which both rendered Aren unconscious and killed all of his attackers.
When Aren regained consciousness a little over a week later, he was questioned by the constabulary and then released, but during their questioning, he came to realize that he could sense the questions they were about to ask, as well as having an idea of what they were holding back. Shaken by their questioning, and feigning exhaustion, Aren headed to his house, where he discovered that someone had broken in and ransacked the premises. It was clear that they were looking for something, and it didn't take long to realize that the only logical thing would be the book and the letter, both of which were under ungraded papers on his desk.
Rushing to his office, he discovered a group of what appeared to be tentacle cultists trying to break into the building. He managed to drive them away by shouting for the guard, but clearly more than one group wanted to get their hands on the book. After several more incidents that culminated in Aren nearly being killed by a sniper while teaching a class, he knew that he had to leave the university where he was teaching.
As there are only a couple of professions that travel frequently, and being surrounded by armed combat specialists appealed to him, Aren took up the life of the adventurer. That was 2 years ago, and he hasn't regretted the decision since. While he is currently between groups, he won't stay that way for long, as the people who are hunting the book are relentless.
As far as the book goes, Aren has never found a way to open it, or made any significant progress on the cypher in the letter that came with the book.

I will consider Vrog Skyreaver's submission for the picking because they probably didn't hear of the requirement for a physical description in time.
Bowen didn't return to his submission so he is out, along with Marko, GM Niles and zomblisham. Unless one of them manages to throw in a complete alias by the time I return.
