Dragoncat, at a glance Jaina looks good...I can't quite figure out her ability scores, can you walk me through how you came up with them? I'm guessing I'm just doing the math wrong but they're not working out to 25 point buy for me.

Actually, I think I got Jaina's point-buy a bit wrong. She was originally built with a weird point-buy (blame the first GM I made her for), and I included the 1 Attribute Point increase at 4th level.

I have tailored the character a little backing off on some things that made her more ideal for captain and is now more idea for first mate and or seine engine operation. She is not really focused on that though. I have also chosen some spells that allows her to do more buffing and healing/removing of ability damage.

When you feel ready to move on, keep in mind that there are a number of actions people can normally take in port, each of which takes one person roughly a day (or in the case of today, the rest of a day) to complete:
- selling plunder
- shopping for magic items/equipment or selling the same
- boosting Infamy/Disrepute
- recruiting crew
Obviously you may have more things you want to do...just wanted to remind you of those options! See the Campaign Bible for more details.

Hmm. I've no plunder and do not need to shop since I have just spent my starting gold. Not being yet part of the crew I don't feel authorized to recruit crew. That leaves Boosting Infamy/Disrepute.

As far as what rolls to use for what (Arhiel was wondering about Diplomacy) it pretty much breaks down to:
- selling plunder = Diplomacy, Bluff, Intimidate, or Profession
- Infamy Checks = Bluff, Perform, or Intimidate
- Recruit crew = Bluff, Diplomacy, or Intimidate
Buying and selling magical gear works just as it normally would, no check needed. Note that when selling plunder, the size of the settlement you're selling it in also comes into play, so there are maximum prices you may run up against.

Funny story--I'm going out of town for the weekend as well! My partner and I are headed up to Maine, and will be getting back on Monday night. I don't imagine I'll have too much access to internet there, so things may be quiet here for a bit.
If possible, I'd suggest using this time to finish the getting-to-know-you roleplay and figure out what everyone wants to do in port. Remember that most actions take a person a full day each, so right now we've committed to two days (I'll count the end of the day in which Jaina and Diana came on board as a "full day").

Whoops, so quickly read through the posts and before I can resolve things, had to note that Isaac is correct: you cannot (unless there's something I missed, like a campaign trait I'm forgetting you have) use Diplomacy to raise Infamy, Arhiel and Diana. However, either of you could convert those rolls to sell plunder or recruit crew! Let me know what you'd like to do.
