The "World of Peace" - The Malicious Misfits (Inactive)

Game Master Shizzle69

The most Evil beings from across the Multiverse are Reincarnated into new bodies in this "World of Peace" with one goal and one goal alone; To bring EVIL back!!!

1 to 50 of 156 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | next > last >>

Ok so this is the official recruitment thread for my campaign set in the "World of Peace". This is a homebrew setting. The geography of the world is much the same as North America. I have a map but need to get myself in the know about Google docs and it will be posted in campaign info. This is the info I posted in my interest thread as well as a link HERE

Spoiler:

So I wanted to see if anyone would be interested in playing a game set in a world where the entire population is good. All of them. Yup even the dragons. There is one religion that has convinced everyone to be at peace, and they have lived this way for almost 2000 years.

You will be some of the most evil people from across the planes. Not in your face offensive, but behind the scenes scheming masterminds of evilness. So much so that you will attract the attention of the one person here who is not evil. Someone who will bring you back from death, yes your dead, most likely in hell you evil bastard, so that your can bring evil back to this "World of Peace."

I can answer any questions you might have. As far as rules for character creation go, you will be Gestalt. One class will be the evil that you once were. The other will be a body into which your lost soul will be placed. The race will be randomly determined by a 1d100 roll. I have a list and can tell you whats up. Stats will be 30 Point buy or 18,16,14,12,10,10, no you cannot dump a stat 8 will be the lowest after racial mods. 2 traits, The level is 5.

The book of Vile Darkness and it's counterpart the Book of Exalted Cheese will be allowed for this game.

Your characters will know into what type of world they will be going and have had communications through the astral plane with your patron in this world. This being will be the one bringing you back from the dead.

There are some things you should know about my playstyle and this setting if you would like to join this game.

Spoiler:

1.I am very laidback when running this setting. The world is at peace so there is not much in the way of strife and such to grab your attention. In a small way you are really the ones running the game and I am just telling you how the world reacts. With this in mind, I suggest making characters who have strong goals and perhaps even ways they would like to accomplish them. This helps me as I don't have to motivate you to some end goal. Honestly I have no end goal for you, except bringing evil back. How that happens is going to be where all the fun lies.

2.Being evil can lead to interparty conflict quite often. Please try your best as PEOPLE to not let this get out of hand. I understand that your CHARACTER might be the biggest douche in the known multiverse, but please try to keep other PEOPLE's fun in mind when thinking about creating that douche CHARACHTER. With that said make what will allow YOU to have fun, just don't be surprised if your sick twisted fun has repercussions from your more sociable friends.

3.If you die, either from your friends as previously mentioned, or perhaps some other more horrible fate, DON'T PANIC. You will still be a part of the game and we can work out how if it happens to any of you.

4.This world is at peace and has been for a long time. It did not happen that way naturally however. It was made that way by a religious order and through the grace of the one and only god. This means that there are people helping the world to stay peaceful. Your characters and much of the multiverse know that this world is "dangerous" for evil. Not normal dangerous like a back alley, there are much worse things than death for one as evil as yourselves. For instance, becoming good... With that in mind, make sure you have ways of being subversive, or at least a good way to hide after being overtly EVIL right in the middle of town.

5.I like to say YES. If I say NO it's probably for a good reason. If you think it's a bad reason, tell me. Maybe I'll say YES instead. However, if I keep saying NO please respect that. Thank You.

6.I would like everyone to post at least once a day. This makes things run smoothly. If you want to post more by all means do. Roleplay is highly encouraged and I suggest all of you have a decent skill-set to help with it as well. Diplomacy is not required if you can simply talk well. A nice guy is well liked without diplomacy, but adding diplomacy demands that people like him.

7.Psionics will play a role in this game. I like them a lot and will be using them for NPC's and other things. This means that Know(psionics) and Autohypnosis are both skills that you can take.

Well I think that's it. Hopefully I didn't miss anything important about me or the world. To help newcomers and also myself here is the current list of people who have rolled and not dropped out.

Liberty's Edge

Merran is still interested. Like I said in other thread he'll be done soon. Not gonna post with the alias until the game starts to prevent the name from being locked.

i am still in.

So am I. Looking for ways to differentiate Akiz from Pavaan's char as both ended up as Alchemist/Barbarian (had picked Alchy ages ago and just couldn't not let the opportunity for a lawful barbarian by virtue of maenad slip through my fingers)

Biggest difference already is Akiz' lack of mutagens and extensive use of mount. Fell Rider for cavalier would maybe have been a better fit and more fun but that's Hobgoblin only and as such out of reach (and the chance of getting hobgoblin on a reroll are tiny)

EDIT: If I ask for a second reroll am I stuck with the last rolled race or can I stay with Maenad still? If I can still get Maenad here's another roll, if not please ignore: 1d100 ⇒ 72

Gm Spugly fuglet here, this alst about done, just a bit on finel biuld need our starting gold or itmes we can can not have ETC.

As am I. I'm working on the character's backstory now, and then tonight I'll work on the character sheet. I notice you said that the characters are great forces of evil from across the plains. I'm taking that to mean that we can define the world the character lived in however we want? I ask because my character likely is from one of those different planets, one with jungle dwelling nomads who contend with the usual jungle predators and dinosaurs.

@ Cuan - I have no problem with you being a fell rider. All of those things sound like horsemen of the apocalypse things to me. I had this vision of you just standing next to your horse(or whatever) just a normal dude and his buddy...then you shout a battlecry and mount up as the horses nostrils suddenly start dripping ooze and it belches foul green smoke as you ride into a crowd of civilians, each one you pass dropping dead from some disease. Anyways, I like where it's going. Also your last roll 72 is tengu, and you are free to choose whichever of the 3 you like.

@ wolfman - You have full licence with your previous life. Do whatever you want as long as the end result has you dead and wanting to come here. Also there is a great jungle in South America that your character will love.

@ everyone - Starting gold is normal for 5th, so 10,500g. You will technically start with no items, however your patron will have two crafters and is a crafter as well. Therefore all Wondrous, Weapon, Armor, and Potion items will be half price. Go ahead and buy your items, but know you will start with nothing until you have time to sit and work with these NPCs. Also, feel free to take crafting of your own as well, either to fill holes, or to help repair or create new things should your patron ever be busy.

Edit:Also I think I've got google docs understood for now. Check the campaign info for the map of the world. Familiar no?

Just saw the map. Very cool! I'll get the background together soon.

Liberty's Edge

Nice map. I'm surprised to see Traverse City on it, got family there but most people never heard of it.

I'm still working on the crunch of the character, or rather, I'm about to start, but I figured I would post up the backstory for your edification. His name is Enisald, and the tribe that he led was called the Rhondskald, in case you don't know why I suddenly start mentioning that name without much explanation.

Enisald the Butcher:

Enisald believes in the natural order of things, predator and prey, the weak dying off to make way for the strong, and being intelligent enough to use tools and language doesn't make anyone immune to that. Enisald was strange in that he was a half-elf raised among a nomadic human tribe. Despite his lighter frame, he managed to fit into the group well enough, and even managed to rise to a position of leadership within the tribe, likely due to his elven bond with nature.

Enisald and his tribe lived nomadically among the jungles and plains, keeping on the move both to follow prey and avoid predators. The tribe was led by a Druid, and as the apprentice, Enisald had to go through a rite of passage before his mentor died, to prove himself worthy to take over leadership. As the Rhondskald people revered the cycle of predator and prey, the rite of passage required that the aspirant leave the tribe, naked and empty handed as the day they were born. After that, the aspirant was to survive on their own for a certain stretch of time. In the case of an apprentice to the elder, it was required that the no druid abilities were used, though that was a matter of honor, and that they survive for six months alone. In addition, Enisald was required to slay and bring back a megaraptor, a creature whose intelligence, in addition to its speed and strength, made it a worthy challenge of one who would lead the Rhondskald.

When Enisald left the tribe on his rite of passage, he had it harder than most, his half-elven heritage made him smaller and weaker than most of his compatriots, though he managed. In his wandering, he happened upon a large city, and became curious of what others must be like, so he explored. What he saw from his various hiding spots disgusted him, people there didn't kill the food they ate, they didn't make the things they used. It was an entire society of wastrels, the sort that were exiled from Enisald's tribe. He left the city as soon as he could, but he remembered its location and the lesson until the opportune moment. He succeeded at the test, and managed to return to his tribe with the proper corpse. After that, he made a quarterstaff topped with the claws of the dinosaur he'd killed, this was the traditional symbol of authority for the tribal elder.

When the old elder died several years later, Enisald was ready. Upon being granted rulership, he addressed his people. He told them that he had seen how the people who were not Rhondskald lived, and that he and his tribe had been hypocrits, living within the circle of life and death as all creatures should, but that they'd been wrong to exempt others from the same treatment. He claimed that he would seek to correct that oversight, and dubbed himself Enisald the Purifier, though most people who knew of him called him Enisald the Butcher.

He would take his tribe to a town and call for an audience with the ruler. He would summon local predators to attack the town, and then would send in his warriors. Anyone they found that had hidden from the fight would be killed, those that had fought and survived would be invited to join the Rhondskald. Any children were always adopted, and brought into the tribe, because the Rhondskald had never been hung up on genetics. If they found a survivor that had obviously comported themselves well in the attack, they would be invited to join the tribe, though refusal wouldn't be handled with such magnanimity.

Enisald never thought of himself as evil, if anything, he would have considered himself a force for good. After all, he helped to weed out the weak, and he never expected to fall the way he did. In the years since Enisald took command of the Rhondskald, his tribe of warriors had grown into an army, countless cities, and even a few countries had fallen under his assault. The regional powers were growing terrified that their nation would be the next one that Enisald set his gaze on. In that time numerous bribes had been offered, some that would have bankrupted the nation offering them. Some diplomats offered him money to stop his march, others offered him payment if he would turn his attention to a nearby country, that second group always found the Rhondskald on their doorstep next, because Enisald would not tolerate cowardice. By this point, Enisald had an apprentice of his own, one that had completed his own rite of passage and had proven himself a worthy successor.

Enisald's final battle ended with the sacking of the capital of Arronus, the largest and most powerful nation in the region. The Rhondskald army had stopped near the walls of the city, flanked by a large supply of dinosaurs that Enisald and his apprentice had summoned. The king sent out a champion to fight Enisald alone, hoping that his sucess would cause the Rhondskald to leave, though it would have only proven that Enisald was no longer worthy to lead them, and the siege would have continued under his apprentice. The champion, a dwarf namd Wurter, proved to be a worthy opponent, Enisald never understood why a man like this would serve a mewling dog that asserted his dominance based only on the blood in his veins. Enisald assumed his most capable wildshape, and the fight was long, bloody and close, but Enisald prevailed. before Enisald had the chance to recover his apprentice, a Human named Halazim struck. As the life fled from his eyes, Enisald saw two things that filled him with joy. First, he saw Halazim being shredded by the Allosaurus that Enisald had trained as a companion. The second thing that made him glad was that he saw the city gates fly open and soldiers pouring out like water, surely he would journey to the other side with plenty of company!

What caused Halazim's betrayal was never really clear, as he didn't survive the attempt. It might be noted, however that Halazim was a child adopted by the tribe. It could be that he was taken in late enough to be corruptible by the lust for gold, and that he'd turned on his people for a bribe, or it could be that he felt that Enisald was no longer a fit leader, though in that case he should have issued a proper challenge.

By the way, sorry about the wall of text, I guess I went on for a little longer than I realized.

Will up date char to reflect both new new gear and while no gear. just so we can know what is the highest caster level for the item craftier, for things that have a caster level needed such as potions. also is it just wondrous, weapon, armor, and potions. or is it all magic crafting items available to the crafter to make.

how does half elf ablity below work for our game work, it is just strange.

Multitalented: Half-elves choose two favored classes at first level and gain +1 hit point or +1 skill point whenever they take a level in either one of those classes.

should i increase my story, or is it enough as is.

@cuan- it is funny to see how different we went with the same class combo, i dont think we are similar at all. and you do have a fun looking char.

@Pavaan- We'll be even more different now I have the green light on switching to Fell Rider. Only downside is I'll miss out on Hive Totem.

I do have another question though: Would you be ok with combining Fell Rider and Beast Rider? Strictly speaking they both alter the same class feature (mount) but they don't actually interfere. Fell Rider only gives +2 Str, -2 Dex and I'd love to replace the horse with a megaloceros (enormous elk) at level 7.

EDIT: Not sure about race though now. I love Tengu and the crow/raven like physique would be perfect considering the fact many (western) cultures see them as ill omens and symbols of the slaughter associated with war.

Alright, I have my list of items that I'll be getting for Kasidra, though the sheet is not yet updated with the stats (will do once I get them). As for the backstory, currently running with the idea that a devil has basically torn out the person's (monk's) soul and infused the body with a fragment of his power- which manifests as the eidolon form.

Ive got half of my Gestalt worked out. Are all of Paizo's resources open? IE Ultimate Magic, Ultimate Combat, etc, etc. Any other 3.5 options besides the Book of Vile Darkness? What about 3rd party on the PFSRD?

@ pavaan - The crafters have the feats, Craft wondrous item, Craft magic arms and armor, and brew potion. The caster level is whatever you need it to be but of course the price increases with caster level as normal. For half elf multitalented you may choose both sides of your gestalt and get 2 bonuses per level however they must be different bonuses.

@ cuan - You can take those together if you wish, though it looks like you can get your megalocerous just fine at level 5 according to what I read. Although it seems it would still be medium sized...Weird I wonder why they put that on the medium list for level 4. I also enjoy tengu.

@ stiehl9s - Yup anything on d20pfsrd is fair game. I'm not well versed with most of the 3rd party stuff but I'm willing to learn. nothing else from 3.5 is available.

Sounds good. probably be Sunday or Monday for crunch.

initial concept is Fighter/Unbreakable and Inquisitor

Here's my profile, with items and backstory.

I'm going to withdraw. I am interested, but time is an issue for me lately.

Ok all done, with Tronath Colastar my half elf alchy barb, tell me if i should change anything or if anything is missing

I'm interested in this; here are my two rolls:

1d100 ⇒ 73

and

1d100 ⇒ 37

Symmetry!

love the story line! very interested and would be a committed player, full time.

i am developing a female drow noble, pain taster. so let me hash out a few things and post my character & background later...

Pavaan, I'm curious about your greater magic fang potion. I know it's for alchemical allocation, however you do realize it wont stack with the furious enhancement, and also that it will only effect one natural weapon, and not one natural weapon type. If your cool with that by all means grab it.

@ reckless - 73 is tengu like your avatar, 37 is halfling.

@ Sugitani - Before you get too far remember that you will not actually be a drow noble any longer. You will have a new body. Roll 1d100 twice to see what you get. If you still don't like it, it's one extra roll from me and that's it.

i understand the gmf potion and how it would work with furious, it is so if we have a fair amount of buffing time, or i run out of rage that i would use it,

Merran I like the backstory though this part doesn't work entirely.

"The catfolk is a member of the church's inquisitorial wing, his job to monitor internal church dissension and maintain dogmatic purity. Merran is reborn."

The inquisitors of the church disbanded years ago because there just isn't any dissension and everyone is pure. He could be a descendant of one of the inquisitors of the past hence his natural affinity for subversive action.

Pavaan, sounds good, your sheet seems ok to me, though I might have missed something. If so we'll just fix it when we find it.

Liberty's Edge

Do I need to justify my spy levels with backstory? I'd prefer that Merran's personality just completely wiped out whoever the catfolk man was before. What would be an acceptable career path for someone with spy levels if everyone is completely good and at peace?

Also, how good is good? Christian biblical morals good? or just non-violent? I mean what about things like gambling, prostitution etc...is there no crime at all? In which case, why? Is everyone brain washed or something? Are they all of equal socio-economic status somehow?

Ok, I'm going to work on a Tengu Martial Artist/Shadow Assassin.

I am just thinking out loud here. but is it fair to assume that the characters will know nothing of the world that we will be playing it. also are the memory's of the new body still there when our characters take over. lastly should we think up something as to why the body has what class or ability's it does have before our characters are put into them.

/roll 1d100

background:

Dardlara Zordlon was brought into the world in the rarest of circumstances, as a Drow Noble born unto common Drow parents. It didn't take long before the utter embarrassment of her inept parents led to her to brutally murdering both parents at the age of 12. As a teenager Dardlara became a disciple of the Circle of Kadrow which led Dardlara to develop her love of the manipulation and desecration of flesh. whether it is by fire, steel, chemical or teeth, whether it is her flesh or the flesh of others (willing or not) she lust for the inescapable experience of pain.

By the age of 19, Dardlara, was able to become the youngest member of the Council of Breiszche. In two and a half years, at the age of 21 she had completely dissolved the council thru sex, scandal, blackmail, fraud, murder and became the self appointed ruler of all lands. As a result of her youthful over exuberance a resistance amongst the other Drow Nobility was formed which led to the eventual overthrow and the restoration of the the Council.

As a result of her actions Dardlara was banished from the Drow society and exiled to a high security island in which she has to remain for the rest of her life. In an attempt to escape her isolated death sentence she was later apprehended by the island guards and publicly executed later that afternoon. Her body laid in rest not even 24 hours before she was resurrected back to life as a.........

See i am already loving this! this campaign is going to get twisted

Alright, I have a basic backstory written up right now. Might improve on it over time, but this is the basic stuff I'm thinking of. Might have her start in New Vegas for the additional irony's sake.

1d100 ⇒ 41 or 1d100 ⇒ 91

have you thought about using roll20.net for the mapping?

Don't worry too much about the bodies backstory. The only reason I called out Merran's story is because you included something that was not likely. You could just as easily not include anything. Also you will not have to worry about where your body is from ect. You will all start together, freshly reincarnated. You have a vague knowledge about this world and what it represents. Basically what I have told you. It is completely good, docile, and at peace. Other questions will be answered upon your arrival to this plane. Unless of course you feel a pressing need to know, in which case I'm sure your soul could pry things out of your patron who will be performing the Reincarnation.

41 is Half-Elf and 91 is Aasimar.

Will be working on background, profile includes character sheet. How are we doing hit points?

In case you say rolling 4d10 + 20 ⇒ (9, 5, 6, 8) + 20 = 48

Liberty's Edge

Alright, I'll just remove the last bit from the background. I'd prefer it that way anyway.

I take it the need to eat brains dos not aply with my new body

I realized something, do alignment restrictions apply to the body that we have taken over? I just realized that a monk can't be neutral evil without taking an archetype that conflicts with the one I have.

I have to rework the my character in the AM but i think i am going to go with an Aasimar, anti-palidan/thrallherder.

@ Shizzle69 - Do the evil gods exist and just havent been worshipped due to this 'One True God's' popularity? or dont exist at all? Can we take a patron god from Golarion's pantheon?

Yeah, Megaloceros at lvl 5 while it's still not usable as a mount is rather strange. Most of those new addition at that level aren't mount material yet at that point.

As for race, I think I'll grab the Tengu, just figuring out what racial features to grab and how to handle the not so useful ability bonuses :P

EDIT: While statting him out I encountered a mistake I made: Both archetypes also replace Expert Trainer. Are you still ok with the combination?

EDIT2: Also found the downside of Tengu: The lack of suitable avatar pictures. Only one picture of a tengu (which doesn't fit my character), a picture of the figurine and a picture of a crow. I hope I can find someone wearing a Doctor's Mask

Dardlara. Did you get my pm? Everyone else ill be on tonight. Work is crazy today.

Dark Archive

is this still open? it sounds like alot of fun. not sure on a concept yet.

@ Stiehl9s - The evil gods have fallen out of power here. You will get no great power from them. You must make your own evil.

@ Cuan - Since beast rider really only gives up expert trainer then to take both you'd have to give up what fell rider gives you for expert trainer. Problem is, that ability is pretty sweet. +1/2 level to intimidate while mounted pretty much screams horseman of the apocalypse. Finding a better mount is just some handle animal checks away really. I'd just drop beast rider.

@ Jarred - 4 is goblin, 50 is Gnome.

I may retool this profile.

Yeah, I kicked out Beast Rider. I'm also thinking of kicking Vivisectionist as throwing bombs from horseback should be entertaining. It also makes me suffer a little less from MAD if I go for a ranged and/or finesse approach.

Sverinn, 81 is catfolk and 73 is tengu

So taking levels in cleric is impossible? or is the fact that since they have no worshippers they have no power?

Just curious what race is this one.

1d100 ⇒ 69

Being a cleric is not easy to do. It would have to be your past life, you would need to be a cleric of a concept, and you would have the problem of a strong aura of evil. Those of you who chose antipaladin also have the evil aura to deal with. It can be done but there might be some espainin to do if someone spots your aura.
