The first time this specific thing has happened, yes. It's particularly frustrating because I was actively scouting the whole time we were dealing with the worms, but without tremorsense, there was nothing to scout for. This encounter, on the other hand, really would have benefitted from scouting and spying, but I wasn't given the opportunity to try it.

Jeeeeeeez...this is getting old. We were tracking. Unless you chose one outlying flank, or another, scouting was not much of an option. Rehashing every potential eventuality is not going to change where we are now. Can we just move on?
Guys. We hid, found them, and then dithered because we came up on them unexpectedly. Then Jun did his best because nobody else was doing anything. Then we all sat there staring and the GM made the plot move.
Not trying to harp on this, but I was NOT doing nothing. I was trying to get necessary information from the GM so that we could find out what they were saying, and thereby figure out who they were and what they wanted with the goblins (which, BTW, we still don't know).

Once again, I must agree with Quinn. He was TRYING to do something. (Quint, you must find it amusing how many times I have declared I agree with you recently, considering the past disagreeable history you and I have had.) :-D
I'd like to comment, and then I hope we can move on. With characters that were all but flung together against their will, because of the promise of not only wealth but possible political influence, these sorts of arguments were an inevitability, from my way of thinking. Quint would never have willingly worked with an expatriate Highlander barbarian if he had a choice. We all know that. These little bouts of disagreement on how to handle things are actually great situations for characters to role play. After the fight is over, I would fully expect that Quint would address everyone, and make a point of saying, "Here's what I was trying to do. I probably should have been more clear about that before I did it. In the future if..." Then Shenkt can say, "Did you see the way I chopped that orc's head off?!" :D It's part of the game, and, again, by my way of thinking, shouldn't be an unwelcome part. Disagreements between characters is natural in a lot of situations, but let's try to prevent character disagreements from turning into player disagreements, okay?
Oh, I do plan to bring it up in-character, though if we're trying to keep some of the guards alive, doing so in front of them probably isn't the best idea. As I mentioned, the a possible outcome of the discussion is that the characters decide to split up and pursue separate leads, using different methods.
Asking the GM repeatedly to run two tables is a great way to induce Gm burnout. It’s 2x the work, especially when the stories you are asking for seem to be so divergent
You are correct Quint, that we could have benefitted from scouting on the situation down below. On that account I probably could have been more patient, but I have explained my reasoning and I don't think there is any point to explaining it again.
As I said previously, more IC communication could have changed things. I think it's something that we should discuss, going forward. This is really the first situation we've had like this before, so as Mended pointed out, this should be a discussion we have in character once things have resolved in the death valley guarded by arrow bushes.

Guess those who can should grab Message next level up, so we can communicate quietly.
I have found that I have to go to some national guard mandatory fun in June. From the 3rd to the 23rd I’ll have limited internet connectivity. While I’ll finally learn how to use an m249 light machine gun...it’ll limit my posting. My apologies in advance.

Man, you're leaving me here too? (Also, how many of the same games are we in...?)
The SAW is an awesome weapon. Ironically enough, I have a kinda funny story about the SAW
Spoilering my digression:
I was a SAW gunner in Korea when I was active duty. We were doing a company level live fire, and I got positioned in the worst spot: I could barely see the objective, because of this stupid tree in my way.
After mentioning it several times, my PL just told me to keep "sustained fire down range"; so I did. I used my spare barrel and two 200 rnd boxes of ammo before I was done, but I cut down the tree. After that, I could see just fine.
When we were doing our AAR, the Battalion XO who had been our observer asked who the "wise guy" was who cut down the tree. I raised my hand. He then said "Why did you keep shooting the tree" to which I said "Because I was using a SAW SIR!" and then dropped myself and started doing pushups while I explained my actions.
That story was the thing that most new people told about me after that.

That is funny Jun! Thanks for sharing! Need some humour in my life right now. Using a SAW ... Hahahaha! I'll keep thinking of that one through out my day at work!
Lindaer, that kinda looks like fun! Now admittedly, I know little to nothing about guns in general. I would like to get one & learn to use it, but I just don't have the money AND my hands are NOT steady in the slightest. But it doesn't seem that for someone who already has military training, it would be that much difference to learn how to use that? And it's going to take them 20 days to teach you how to use that? Seems like our government dollars at work.
Okay, well, Lindaer your post reminded me that I should have actually mentioned this a lot earlier, but I will also be gone from June 8th through the 17th, with limited time and or internet to post. I will do my level best to check in at least twice a week and see if I can't keep the game moving on, but, fair warning to all, it might just be that the game takes about a week long hiatus during my absence.
Sorry, and thank you, in advance, for your patience.
Also, I wanted to say, Lindaer, I loved your most recent in game post. "Zombies, orcs, goblin captives." That's not a lie, because at no point did you say anything other than the names of creatures. Obviously the assumption by those listening would be that you had encountered those creatures, but at no point did you actually say that. Brilliant! Also very much on par with the acumen of a reformed criminal! :) Nice job, take Inspiration!
Yo yo yo!!! Just popping in to say I am back and that barring unforseen circumstances, I should have something posted in Gameplay before the end of my shift this afternoon. :) Looks like the game really did take a week long hiatus. Hopefully everyone is ready to jump back into things.

Glad to read you Lindaer! You haven't missed much. Things have slowed down to less than a crawl. Probably due to absences here and there... Still hoping things pick back up soon.

I've been checking in daily, but Jun has things so well under control that I have not been able to think of a decent post & I have not seen a need for a post from me either. Sorry for my inactivity. I'll try to think of something to post ...

Have fun, and look forward to sleeping a bit the next few weeks. Newborns spend a lot of time asleep. It's just the three or four hours they spend awake is completely random.
