Look what's coming up in a week. We appear to be getting a free play test for dragon PC characters. Sphene, I'll be checking this out and I'd encourage you to do the same. It might give us some ideas for ways of advancing your character.

Peacock |

Peacock is about to undergo a shift in character too (as set up earlier), once the strange creatures are dealt with.

Peacock |

I've done some thinking about Peacock and I think I've found a way to make his conflict more interesting, hence the shifting to kickstart that.

Sphene_Axinite_Clinohumite |

the clues
I went back and read the whole campaign, ever thing is there, that was seen of spoken of in front of Sphene, Also Sphene has said nothing of a feeding, only Hunger as seen in the two and talked about in the to. Jazzai talked of prey, she has fangs now seen like them, They have been blinking at her, and Jazzai talked about meeting the others what was done to her in part and being moved away with the Dryad wile very one was there. Im sorry but the clues and info is there. Now the items the GM has let us find, the clues he dropped about the beings, there talking how they act, act to Jazzai and how she acts to them. I don't think its any great leap at all sorry.

Sir Kane Ravencourt |

Things are definitely getting interesting.
It bears mentioning just in case- Nothing in game reflects on opinions of players out of game.
That being said, Sephene's demanding and confrontational nature is becoming a point of contention in the group.
Wombat, as Sephene has just had a significant change of heart, you may want to consider this an opportunity for her to reflect on things and choose a change of behavior as well. If not, this is going to be a significant problem for the group dynamic.
I understand where Sephene is coming from. Other characters I've played might even agree that potential crisis override people's right to privacy.
However, Kane is a Paladin. They operate entirely on a set of higher governing principals, and exceptions don't get made. In fact, those principals become more important the more dire the situation.

Peacock |

I have to agree with Kane here. Also, up to now, it hasn't been an issue with Adrien's meek nature, but as he becomes comfortable with being Peacock, or at least invoking some of that, and gains confidence, it may make the problem worse.

Sphene_Axinite_Clinohumite |

I agree, Things are definitely getting interesting, and its cool to have a game where three string willed PCs interact, She fully understands Kane, she's a city girl and knows Paladin she kind of knows what to expect with him.
Jazzai shes at a loss with the strong willed Blind teen, who seems to be like the things they are seeking to stop. Shes at mistrust and worry 50/50 right now.
For Peacook I can see how the dynamic of three strong wills like Kane, Jazzai and Sphene would bring out in him a deeper self, I really can, the group acting as a catalyst for his change.
It is true that Sphene has had a change of heart, she picked a side, for the 1st time in her life. But under that is a street wise city girl who's been used to being on here own and looking after herself. She deeply mistrusting and as never really lived in a family or group.
But Kane just added a great new level, and one I hope will let her tuned down to fit a new group Dynamic. The Dragon side, IS demanding and acts over bearing. A superior feeling that is at odds with her human self.
I love the idea of that inner conflict, Thanks Kane.
Now shes realized that she is in a bit of shock, so don't expect much from her for a wile. She coming to terms with the fact wile she been saying Jazzai may have had her mind altered, she herself my have, by her new Dragon body. The realization has hit her, Where Dos Sphene the human end and the Sphene the dragon start?
hehe
all great RP stuff.
and she will be less Dragon have no worrys

Peacock |

The big conflict with Peacock is basically this:
Right now, in some way, he's two people at once.
He's Adrien, the meek farm village boy who doesn't have much of a future in front of him by himself.
He's also, Peacock, the fey prince in becoming, whose nature as a member of the Fair Folk would make him an incomprehensible creature of chaos. (Because they don't quite comprehend how reality works outside of their courts, fey are prone to do rather outrageous things without considering the consequences.)
At this point, he doesn't think he stands a chance of returning to just Adrien, and even given the chance, most likely wouldn't take it, because being Adrien was never a very satisfying experience.
On the other hand, the "true" Peacock, if unleashed, would not be a creature a party can hang with. Too unpredictable, too likely to commit some horrifying arcane slaughter of a peasant because it doesn't even come to incomprehensible mind that the peasant has no means of pulling himself back together. This is the side of himself he's going to need the rest of the party's help overstepping, because it has a strong pull.
One side has moderation, discipline, and a good heart, but no power or confidence. The other side has power and confidence, but is essentially demented.
Adrien/Peacock's conflict is finding the satisfying middle ground between his two heritages, and this isn't something he can accomplish by himself.

I have my Friday face-to-face game, and I come back to this! Great stuff, everyone, and I appreciate the maturity everyone is exhibiting during the character conflicts.
I'll probably start moving things along sometime this weekend, since we've been at the menhirs for a while now, but the role play and interactions have been pretty expository. I didn't want to slow that down.

Sphene_Axinite_Clinohumite |

Sorry guys I'm flying to Japan tomorrow and want be able to post I think for a week wile there, please, GM please BOT my PC until I'm back

Sphene_Axinite_Clinohumite |

It is with some regret that I must inform you my fellow gamers.
That life commitments have now changed and the time and energy I spend on here is now needed in other pleases.
So as of today I will no longer be participating in any posting on this site and others like it.
It was fun and think you for that.
All the best with your games
Your Cap Wombat.

Jazzai Moonbreaker |

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope things go well with you.

DM Stalwart |

This is something that came up in another game that might be relevent in this one.
GM, would you allow someone with Catch Off Guard to use the haft of a Polearm as an Improvised Weapon?
That seems appropriate. I have also toyed with the idea of allowing a character with Quick Draw and Combat Reflexes to brace as an immediate action.

Jazzai Moonbreaker |

Okay. We can wait with baited breath.

Peacock |

I'd like to propose an alternate idea: This is a RP-heavy campaign that very strongly revolves around the PCs and their unique traits.
It might be worth considering actually going on with just three characters, meaning everyone would get a little more of the focus and unique twists this campaign is all about.

Jazzai Moonbreaker |

Well, in a way you are not. As you said, "fate has brought us together". Many parties are just strangers that start off not knowing each other and are thrown into circumstances. Very similar to this.
As for going with just us three or adding another player, I am good either way. We seem to be a good group together. Adding someone new can be good or bad.

Peacock |

Hey all, sorry for the big slowdown in my posting.
I've gotten quite busier as of late, and haven't had as much time to devote to PbP. This led to me feeing overwhelmed with the games I had.
I've recently cut down on the number of games I was in, leaving only this one, one other, and the one I DM.
My posting rate should go back up, now that I don't feel like I'm trying to keep up with an avalanche.

Peacock |

Welcome!
To be fair to you, DM, Naki going so long without making a discussion post or OOC comment does also go a long way towards the confusion. ;)
To this, I will add: We meet again, Ravenica. Batros sends his greetings. :P

Nanaki Oru |

Hehe guess I should have introduced myself here as well, but I will take it as high praise that I've fit in THAT well.
At least these characters won't be at each others throat before the recruitment thread even gets going ;)

Peacock |

Please, that was a healthy rivalry between warriors. Batros had only respect for his fellow martial specialist.

Nanaki Oru |

and arven wanted you dead for having dirty orc blood hehe but he respected the professor enough that he had to assume you had SOME redeeming quality :P

DM Stalwart |

I think now's as good a time as any to level up! You've had a bit of downtime to process your recent adventures, and it's a story-appropriate moment for Jazzai to grow into some new abilities.
So, basic rules are: half the hit die plus one for hit points (plus Con, as always). If you could post your increases here in the discussion page with something like:
HP +X
BAB +1
Skills: X ranks
Acrobatics +1 rank
Bluff +1 rank
Heal +2 ranks
Spells added:
Ray of Frost
Special abilities:
Whatever you get
Evolutions:
What you choose,
And so on!
Happy leveling!

Peacock |

+6 HP
+1 BaB
+1 to each skill Adrien has already (including favored class bonus)
+1 Will Save
+1 Level 1 Spell Per Day
Spells Learned: Magic Missile

Jazzai Moonbreaker |

HP +7
BAB +1
Skills: 8 ranks
Acrobatics +1 rank
Bluff +1 rank
Diplomacy +2 Rank
Heal +2 ranks
Perception +1 Rank
Sense Motive +1 Rank
Spells added: +1 Lvl of Druid Casting
Special abilities:
+2 Natural Armor, +1 Str and Dex, Evasion
Evolutions: 1pt
Well, I want to build up to blindsense and blind sight (costs 7pts total since blindsense is a requirement unless you say otherwise) IF i just have to buy blindsight, it will take me to lvl 4.
I had an idea for the levels that I don't get Hit Die. No evolution points, but HD, Bab, increase and an evolution of your choice. No Nat armor and str/dex increase
Claws though make sense for what she has consumed or putting the point to burrow.

Peacock |

Also hurray for Lay on Hands.
Peacock will have the justification for his own power increasing next time the party rests, for the record.

Jazzai Moonbreaker |

I have healing spells too from the druid. ^.^ Just haven't needed to use them yet.

Nanaki Oru |

ok +5 HP
+1 Ref, Fort, BAB
+1 Appraise, Climb, Craft(Alchemy), Disable Device, Heal, Knowledge (Nature, Arcana), Perception, Sleight of Hand, UMD
Discovery: Extend Potion
Poison Use
Poison Resist +2
+1 level 1 Extract per day
Learned: Endure Elements Extract
Shiny new pair of legs.

Jazzai Moonbreaker |

DM what is your judgement on buying into abilities? And do I have to meet the prerequisites?

Sir Kane Ravencourt |

A house rule that I highly recommend is to give Scorcerers Bloodline spells one (or even two) levels early. Those spells should be the things they are good at, not the things they have to wait the longest for.
If you take a look, you'll notice that sorcerers get their bloodline spells after they gain access to other spells of that same level. It's pretty silly.
