Jazzai Moonbreaker |

I just named her Jazzai, Kept it simple.
Everyone got the 20pt buy for stats right?

DM Stalwart |

Yes, we're going with 20 points.
Also, I'm thinking that your type should be monstrous humanoid.
Jazzai's prologue is up. I've got a joint bit of story planned between Jazzai and Kane, but I wanted to give them a chance to make introductions, just as I'm sure Peacock and Sphene will start to introduce themselves.

Jazzai Moonbreaker |

I was thinking either Monstrous humanoid or aberration. Either would fit.
I can't wait to see what the story is and I have posted my reply so she can be introduced. I didn't want to assume she was there when he spoke with his friend Kane.

Sphene Axinite Clinohumite |

Did a feat chain test last night then lost 3G forgot to roll em back
Before I posted also three skills need to be edited back
Will do that now,
Think I have a way to go with her now
By using
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/3rd-party-feats/super-genius-games/general-fe ats/spark-of-divinity
As her human feat, that let's he pick by means of feats some of the godling stuff,
Letting her add things things more suited to her origin I feel.
All with GM approval, I did a test build last night at level three and it was cool
More what I had in mind for a thinker .

Sphene Axinite Clinohumite |

cool even better, means not wasting feats trying to get one of the godling features that fits.

Jazzai Moonbreaker |

I will wait for Kane to post first. Depending on what he tells my character will set the tone for exactly what she will tell him.

DM Stalwart |

Also available to you, when you level up are the natural armor, claws and burrow evolutions.

DM Stalwart |

I'm still wondering where the harpy went, and I want to give Kane and Jazzai a chance to better acquaint themselves, so don't be in too much of a rush to move things forward. I'm getting the big meeting between the two pairs ready.
Also, while you're free to describe your impressions of other players, have a care that you don't end up trying to define someone else's character for them. That lies solely with the player.
As for our harpy, I sent a pm earlier and I'll send another here soon. If we lose our oracle, we might need to talk about healers. I don't know if Kane would be willing to shift to more of a battle cleric. Of course, it could be fun trying to survive without a healer, too.

Jazzai Moonbreaker |

Haha I didn't even realize I was the only land bound character. Only when you mentioned it did I realize that. That is irony.

Jazzai Moonbreaker |

I could always take a level in Oracle of life. Already have the curse down pat :P And also, it won't take away from the other's character builds.
Might even give a reason for the flyers to keep around a land bound blind girl :P But seriously I love playing healers if we need one.

GM Capt Wombat |

"If its Ok with the GM and Peacock I would like...
Sorry: Well I need to make some things clear, It is and was never my intent to upset another player. I am deeply sorry for doing that. What I did was map out a "possible path we could go" This was done under spoiler. With a clear note at the front saying that both GM and player would need to ok any and all of that. The idea was to offer up something for clearance. In other games I have been in, that's been the way to map out the starting point of a game. Party meets etc. As I made clear none of that will happen unless its Ok'ed by both GM and player. I think you missed that part, I am sorry if I was not clear on that. You can and I hope will change any and ALL parts of that post.
Party Building: I wanted to show a way she may bond with him, to make the party work, Mapping out 'her' feeling only and why she would seek to stick with Peacock. If hes going to run off next day, well then she will stay, an thus we end the party, because she will need to get her strength up before running off I think.
Needs of a pc: she needs time to get strong. Just out the egg is no way to face the world. But I am not saying your PC must stay, just I feel she would have to build her self up before heading off.
Meeting the others: that all down to the GM but he did have us meet to where we go from here is key. I am not trying to take over your PC or tell you how to play him or what he is like. I just wanted to offer up a way thing MY go etc. I am more than happy go with your ideas etc, as that's what it was meant for, swoping ideas. It was just offering a possible starting point on where we COULD go etc. I do home you understand where I am coming from here. I will not do this again. I see how it has not worked in the way I was seeing it work. I am used to a more discussion way of mapping out actions. In future I will put all such ideas in Discussion.
So all that being said, its 1st night and Zzzzz from Sphene.
:)
and i offer my apologizes for doing the wrong thing.

posted in Spoiler to you and peacock, GM i am sorry that all went very wrong, ill not be doing it again.
:o)

DM Stalwart |

Understood, and I think we're all on the same page now. No worries from this end.
While we're on the topic (sort of) time and the progression thereof, I want to throw out that everyone is free to use essentially "flex time" for longer conversations and side events, even when the story has progressed beyond the time when the event took place. For example, Kane and Jazzai can build upon their conversation even though I moved the story forward. As long as it's clear, either through spoiler tabs or the use of clear titles like: Flex: or Earlier:, they're fair game to further expand your characters' actions.

Sir Kane Ravencourt |

GM-
Since I didn't really know what to do about my character's racial abilities, I built him without an racial modifiers and I figured I'd let you tell me what adjustments and abilities I should include.
here's the gargoyle from the bestiary. I'm not attached to anything in particular other than the wings and the appearance (though Freeze is a pretty cool ability).
So right now he's a blank slate. What would you like me to add?

DM Stalwart |

Let's do this:
You get +2 to any stat (human)
Bonus feat (human)
+2 Con
+2 Stealth (+6 in rocky environs)
+4 Natural armor
Fly 60' (poor) (increases to average at level 3)
Freeze
DR 2/magic (increases to 5/magic at level 5, then 10/magic at level 8)
Now, you get a lot of natural attacks. Let me know, were you thinking of sticking with manufactured weapons or using claw and horn? Let me know, because I'm thinking about spreading the natural attacks out across a few levels, especially if you also are using other weapons.
Also, armor is going to be hard to come by because of your form. Hope you understand. :)

Sir Kane Ravencourt |

Actually, the way the natural attack rules interact with standard weapons kinda drives me crazy, and Kane considers them uncivilized, so even if I get them I won't use them. Maybe claws in a pinch. There's enough natural attacking going on in this group as-is. :)
Instead of natural attacks I'd prefer something else. Dark/lowlight vision? Energy Resistance? Stonecunning? Resistance to enchantments? Whatever you think is apropriate as a trade off for all those natural attacks.
As for armor, with a +4 natural armor I can afford to make due with whatever I can find. Maybe we can do something with the peicemail armor rules or something.

DM Stalwart |

Sorry, forgot about the darkvision. You'd get that too.
So we'll stick with just the claws for the time being, and later if you want to buy the bite or gore attack let me know.
I can totally get behind piecemeal armor, and we can see where it goes for you to pick up additional abilities like the ones you mentioned.

Jazzai Moonbreaker |

Thank you. Me and Kane haven't been able to truely exchange or have our characters to get to know each other, so getting that chance will be nice. While, I hang around a computer most of the day not everyone has that luxury.

Sphene Axinite Clinohumite |

Happy to have my PC sleep until some one shows up.
Let other get themselves ready

Sphene Axinite Clinohumite |

GM if shes small she loses +1 AC for size
but in the calls at small she gets +3NA putting her AC at 16/FF13/T14
would that be ok, going size not level, or she loses AC down to 13AC

DM Stalwart |

I don't have a problem with you having the +3 NA. (It actually saved your bacon with that near-crit back there).
Also, a note on setting things on fire: I think a feat, something along the lines of the alchemist's explosive discovery, would be an option for you (or we could make it a class feature at some point). But right now, I'd only say there's a risk of catching fire if there's a natural one rolled. Since unattended objects fail saves automatically, I'm fine with you setting fires with your breath in other circumstances like the campfire.

Jazzai Moonbreaker |

If its okay with you, Her action would be to follow Kane with the club now in hand at half her speed so she doesn't fall

Sphene Axinite Clinohumite |

Hope we have some healing
Just lost 4/5 of her hp and came close to a one hit kill round 1 1st combat.

Jazzai Moonbreaker |

Welcome to being a young/low level character. Don't worry, and remember sleep can recover hit points. Not all healing is magical. I'm sure we will find a way to patch you up.

Jazzai Moonbreaker |

Have faith in the light and it shall shine and illuminate your path and soothe your wounds.

Jazzai Moonbreaker |

Two are unconscious and one is ready to run and you feel a TPK? Don't be pessimistic. I know we will make it through.
Plus, I already volunteered to take levels away from my build to be a healer.

Peacock |

We just about took out an EL 3 encounter in a round and a half and you're worried about a TPK?
I think you're needlessly panicking, Sphene. The first level is always a little dangerous, but I doubt DM Stalwart is silly enough to throw us in above our heads.
You took some damage, it happens. The rest of the party will be extra protective of you while you recover and you'll make a full recovery.
No need to panic. I've been in healer-less parties before, and we did alright. Just had to play a little more cautiously.
Also, isn't Sir Kane a paladin? Lay on Hands starting at level 2 will be good help. It's been my experience that a Pathfinder paladin can keep a party well healed, hp-wise.

Sphene Axinite Clinohumite |

YIKE!! I can tell my dry sense of hummers going to have a rough ride in his game. :)

Peacock |

Sarcasm and irony doesn't translate well in text. If you want to joke like that, you have to be a lot more obvious. ;)

Sphene Axinite Clinohumite |

So I have been told, more than once :) and one mans Sarcasm and irony is anther mans cynical witticisms. hehe

Sir Kane Ravencourt |

Sorry. Unexpectedly busy weekend for me.
Also, lots of holiday stuff coming up for me in the next two weeks. My posting time will be pretty diminished. I'll get a post in when I can, but please don't hold the game up for me. I'm not going anywhere, I promise.

Jazzai Moonbreaker |

I think we were going to let Kane interrogate the gnolls. I didn't want to take that away from him.
