Taking advantage of his opponent's misfortune, but staying close to the ground as to avoid the deluge of magic and death flying overhead. Shifting his weight to come over near the other man, he brought the knife down on the man's neck, (hopefully) finishing him off.

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Not a lot of damage, but I'm guessing he was still in it by the skin of his teeth...

Taking a quick moment, York opens up the rest of the man's neck, cutting away the flesh, and then making a few quick sawing jerks to cut his way through the spine. Cutting off one ear for himself, he tosses the rest of the head back into the trench with his allies before taking another glance around at the dust and mist to see if he still has enough cover to continue operating, or should consider heading back himself.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

York- The midst is all but gone. If you don't take cover, and quick, you're going to get something. And it won't be a good thing.

Gaspard- You see York toss a head back into the trench while the sides exchange salvos. The enemy lines have fewer towers, you notice. Where as your lines have an emplacement every 50 ft., theirs are around every 75. The occupants have good cover, and are heavily engaged. You only get a brief glimpse of any of the occupants as they attack.

Seeing the mist all but blown away, and the cover of dust stirred up by the barrage settling, York scowls darkly, but sees little choice but to return to the line for now. Keeping very low, moving all by invisibly, he scrambles back to his friendly line, and slipping down into the trench; but not before grabbing his foe's dropped flail, stuffing the handle into his belt.

Once back out of the line of fire, he finally takes the opportunity to touch a hand to his head wound, and divert the flow of blood from around his eye.

"Do we have the good fortune to have a healer in this unit? If not, a medic will do."

Thomas is still reeling a bit from the blunt blow that he took. Nothing feels broken or out of place, but he is certainly not entirely sound on his feet.

He comes over to York, looking over to him and nodding. "I know a little bit about healing. If we can find the medkit they sent me out with, I should be able to patch you up at least..."

Male Human Expert 2/Alchemist 1/Warrior 1

"Not that I'm against standing around and looking pretty, but people are screaming ovevr there. I suggest we move to reinforce the right flank, and quickly! They're sure to have trouble over there, what with the collapse and all."

"He's right; bleeding is not to bad, if you've got a quick bandage to keep the blood out of my eyes, that'll do."

York switches to his longbow, and readies two arrows.

Viktor, Male Human Paladin 1 | AC 20/12/14 | HP 6/16 | F +4, R +2, W +2 | CMB +3, CMD 14 | Init +1 | Perc +1

Viktor picks up one of the flails, swinging it about with an approving nod. "Come, we must assist our allies! Grab weapons if you can use them, and everybody grab a tower shield to use as cover. You don't have to use it when you're fighting up close, but having a moving wall will be helpful in this mess."

Male Human Expert 2/Alchemist 1/Warrior 1

The fool had a point. That was the thing about them, they made sense to themselves, so sometimes they struck upon something that made sense to other people as well.

He experimentally pulled at one of the dead guys' shield. That crap was heavy. I suppose I'll toss it when we get around to combat, might be nice having 'till then.

He staggered under the weight. How'd they manage running around with that again?

Gaspard is now squarely in heavy load. We're down to 20ft speed, and I the ASFC doesn't bare thinking about.

I'm already at medium so we were at 20 ft. anyways. As long as nobody gets over encumbered we're good.

MAPS

Aniolas, Female Barbarian

Considering what she was carrying took only a pair of seconds before she was stowing the spear and taking a tower shield, as well as a flail. It was difficult to move, but there was no arguing the cover that it allowed. There was no way that she was going to be fighting holding this, but it was something. "I'm getting tired of being in this, let's push them out so we can get the hell off of this front!", she shouted by way of motivating the rest of them.

male Human Code name: "Black out" (soon to be Lasombra 9th generation)

shrugs and doesn't bother to pick up one of those shields as he knows he couldn't carry it and then moves out in front of the group following the trench using bodies and rocks moving from cover to cover stealthing scouting about thirty feet ahead in the trench in front of the group to the flank.

Stealth: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

The party grabs shields, weapons, and darts into the right flank bunker.

Fate: 1d20 ⇒ 8

Inside you find two mages desperately throwing magic out of the forward window. At the far door, a single, badly wounded man holds off a huge beast of a man with a double ax. Even as you rush to help, the savage splits the soldier's shield with a mighty blow. Then the other ax head comes around and shatters his skull.

The bunker shudders with the enemy's magic and artillery fire, but seems to be holding, for now.

I'll get the map up as soon as I can. The room is only about 15 ft wide, but extends back a good 30 ft and widens as it goes back to 30 ft at the back wall. A wall separates the front room, which is 15 feet square, from the back trapezoid.
As I said, map to come. The of you can get into melee range, should you desire that.

Yes, but unless your allies plug every hole, you could become a target next round. You may avoid this by including your allied casters in the spell

Gaspard drops the shield as he leaps in the front, shouting the incantation for his spell as he goes. Flames burst from his hands again, albeit this time they take the shape of lightning.

Back home from my Christmas travels. Unfortunately, my computer didn't make it back alive. My little girl managed to dump basically an entire drink worth of Pediasure (kind of like vitamin enriched chocolate milk) on the laptop while it was running. She was feeling sick, and it I had it set up playing her favor show. Bzzt. Zap. RIP MacBook Air. My posts will likely be short and sweet till I find a replacement, or find out what my AppleCare is worth. I hate posting from my phone...

York steps out to the side of Gaspard so he can get a clear line of sight, and a clear shot off at the man. He scans him quickly for any markings, totems, or fetishes that might present a clue as to any groups he might belong to, that might provide a clue as to his abilities (such as a local Barbarian tribe or some such).

Aniolas, Female Barbarian

Thanks to her delay in gathering the weapons and shield, Aniolas was late in entering the bunker, which prevented her from greeting the new individual with a thrown spear. The tower shield got discarded once she saw what was happening inside the bunker, thrusting her hand back for the standard-issue shield that had been awkwardly been carried on her pack. "Looking at the mage closest to the big man, she growled, [b]"Weapon on my hip." It was up to the mage to grab it while they distracted the big man.

Morgrym - You couldn't have gotten that far ahead, but we'll say you entered first and dove into the room to the south inside the bunker. The Big Man still doesn't know you're there, but there was no way to get past him to flank. That opportunity will open up as the mages pull back. I have moved you to the appropriate place.

Thomas takes up positions behind the others, and prepares his kinetic ability, ducking down to make himself less of a target.

Choon, if it is ok, what I want to do is ready an action to use my kinetic cover ability when the guy with the giant axe tries to attack someone. Then basically what I want to do is raise a wall of cover between two of them. The wall has a hardness of 0 and 2hp, but hopefully it will absorb part, most or all of the blow, rather than having giant axe man beating on the others. If that doesn't work, I can just resort to tossing more rocks.

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

That is a creative and perfectly legal use of that ability, as far as I know. Go for it. :)

Once Thomas gets into position, he lays his hands on the ground and the sides of the trench around him, preparing to shift and slide parts of it in an attempt to deflect some of the larger man's blows for his comrades. He looks to the mages. "Take cover if you can. We will do our best to handle this one."

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

3d20 ⇒ (16, 7, 9) = 32

The man roars at the appearance of the party and swings at the right side mage as the two retreat. Thomas saves the man's life and erects a stone wall just in time to catch the devastating blow. His wall instantly explodes, but does it's job and absorbs the damage. The man then turns his attention to a certain charging paladin. His lethal weapon starts it's deadly dance and Victor takes two staggering blows to the shield, but avoids harm. The man slowly circles around to Victor's right.

Fate: 1d20 ⇒ 16

The Man continues his assault as he circles into the corner and only takes a bruise from York's arrow in the process. All your other attacks are neatly parried or dodged. The first swipe looks like it will hit Victor, but Thomas saves his ally with a quick wall of stone, which promptly erupts into a shower of dirt as before.

Just then a massive boulder slams into the front of the bunker level with the window and explodes into a shower of sharp rock and dust. Chunks of rock fall from the ceiling under the impact and a plume of dust billows like smoke out of the two doorways. Thankfully, the bunker holds, if barely.

Everyone excecpt Gaspard takes 1d6 ⇒ 3 slashing and bludgeoning damage from the impact and shards of rock. Anyone in the bunker or firing into it now suffers a 20% miss chance do to thick dust and the interior of the bunker is now difficult terrain.

Meanwhile, the bunker continues to rock from magical impacts and the sound of falling stones are ever-present.

Fate: 1d20 ⇒ 16

Gaspard peers over the lip of the bunker and, thankfully, isn't attacked immediately. The ground between you and them is piled with bodies. It's hard to see the ground for the carnage.

The bunker isn't taking the most recent hits well. That direct impact must have done something to its support structures. If something isn't done to stabilize it, youall will have to spend the rest of the day in the trench proper.

The men in the next bunker are starting to falter, Aniolas observes. If they don't get help soon, your enemy may gain a foothold within your trenches!
