Max swings at the bandit on the Wagon and hits him across the head and knocking him off the wagon. He is still on his feet, but staggering around and clearly scared.

Garnult charges the last archer on the left side and smacks him with his warhammer, then brings it back around quick enough to hit him again as he was falling over.

Yes your bolt was the one that hit the guy that stepped out of the woods.

Seeing the rest of the bandits easily dispatched the bandit falls on his knees "I give! I give! You guys win! Just let me live!" The other bandit follows suit.

Kala puts his crossbow away and waves back to the woods. "If we see you on this road again, we'll kill you. Now get!"

Nadarr growls menacingly at the bandit closest to him as the bandit heads off into the woods.

Intimidate check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

Then Nadarr puts his crossbow away. With some effort he manages to remove the arrow stuck in him and does it without falling over. Nadarr says, "Well, if nothing else it looks like we got a couple of wagons we can sell."

Nadarr checks the bodies of the dead bandits to see what he can find.

Perception check: 1d20 ⇒ 17

"Is there a local sheriff or someone we can turn them into? I don't see the idea of letting bandits loose on less capable travelers as being terribly civilized. "

but since the bandits already fled, his comment is moot.

"Pretty sure that's not going to have good effects down the road. "

as the bandits try to leave I slay one hit: 5 + 1d20 ⇒ 5 + (13) = 18
dmg: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 and that is what will happen if you ever come back, I show no mercy and for the greater good, don't even think about bringing back more, because I will slay them too even if they surrender instead of throwing them in jail

As the main bandit starts to stumble away Nadarr's growl startles him so bad he trips over the wagon wheel, falls and slams his head on the frame. He doesn't get back up. The final bandit starts to slink away into the woods, but falls over with an arrow buried in his back.

You find 10g on the main bandit and 5s split between the other bandits. You also find a few daggers, a long sword, 3 crossbows and 30 bolts on them. The wagons are badly damaged, and probably not worth the effort to drag them back towards town.

The rest of the trip is uneventful and you arrive at Hommlet about an hour before the sun sets. I posted a map at the top of the page of the town. You arrive from the north road.

not a big deal, but I used a scimitar, so I probably had to run after him

Sturgiss looks with disdain at Max attacking the man from the rear... but they were bandits That one is a bit bloodthirsty.

"Come friend". Sturgiss approaches Nadarr. "Let me have a look at that wound. Those things are nasty, and can get infected".

If allowed Sturgiss will call upon the blessing of Moradin, and "lay on Hands" to heal 5 points of damage on the dragon man.

Upon arriving in town, Sturgiss heads straight for the Inn of the Welcome Wench, determined to get a good room before they're all gone. I've decided that he really doesn't like heights.

Nadarr replies to Sturgiss, "I would greatly appreciate your help"

Nadarr would also have helped himself to a crossbow bolt from the supplies taken off of the bandits.

Nadarr will join the rest of the group at the inn, but will eventually want to try to sell some stuff off.

Kala comes into the Inn announcing "Looking for Ostler, Ostler Gundlgoot. That you boss? Ol' Rurek sent us your way, said you'd treat us right...round of ales and a wine for Max here if you please."

Kala approaches the bar and asks less boisterously, "What's the name of your sheriff or constable in these parts, friend?"

You safely make it to town and make your way to the inn.

The square wooden sign shows a buxom and smiling girl holding a flagon of beer. This must be the Inn of the Welcome Wench, a place renowned for its good food and excellent drink! Passing merchants make a point of stopping, as do many other sorts of wayfarers, and it is said that the place is always filled with patrons.

You enter and see the innkeeper behind a long wooden bar, with a few women serving the various customers of the inn. There are about 10 other patrons. Kala walks up as Ostler starts to pour out the drinks, in much cleaner mugs than Rurek offered, and responds "I am the sergeant at arms of the militia. You bringing more trouble than we already have?"

Another man at the bar, obviously drunk speaks up, "Sergeant at arms? [hic]...Ha more like Sergeant of the ale. You haven't done any fighting for years."

Ostler responds "Fine then Elmo I'll be the Sergeant of the ale. You're cut off. Happy now?"

Nadarr says, "We took care of some bandits on the road to here a ways back. Based on comments they made they were part of a larger gang."

Kala nods at Nadarr, "Indeed! Some of Lubush's men tried to force us to pay to use the road. Their bodies are back a ways feeding the crows now. Sometimes, towns may offer a bounty on such bandits. Not always mind you, but it's always a good idea to check in with the authorities dontcha think? What other kinds of trouble might we be able to help with?" Kala smiles and taps his fingers on the bar. "You know, I am an entertainer by trade, I could perform for your room here in exchange for some modest concessions. Certainly my friends are likely to eat and drink here in any case. Perhaps we can strike up a mutually beneficial arrangement?"

What kind of Ale to you carry? Hammersmar Stout? Garnult inquires to the barkeep
