Male Dwarf Druid 1

Hey guys, I'm sorry, I dont know how often I'll be able to post in the next few days, I'm moving to the netherlands for a study abroad program! I'll post again as soon as I can, wareagle is welcome to take control of Rhoh

Ratchets bolt skim right over the dogs head nearly making it's mark but yet still far off.

Rhoh casts bless affecting all in an attempt to change the tides of battle.

The dog once again snaps at Rhome it cannot make a hold and retracts once again entering a low defensive position. The other stands in similar stance behind the first growling and eagerly awaiting fresh flesh.

Please remember attacking as in swing a blade or such requires DC 5 acrobatics to avoid clumsily tripping and possibly falling to you inevitable doom.

Xamus lights another pebble offering light to those around him.

Cru fires another shot at the dog but it goes wiry an flties off into the darkness.

Rhome swings at the dog infront of him with all his strength no focusing on his balnce or expertise he misses and nearly trips but regans his balance just in the nick of time.

Ratchet's up.

"Hold on, ye big lug! Jus' hunker down a sec an' let me steady ye."

Reloading his crossbow with a strange looking bolt, he kneels and unsnaps a carabiner and a metal anchor ring from his climbing harness.

Rockbiter bolt, all metal. Basically it's a Piton with fletching, made for being fired from a crossbow. Drastically reduced range, but real handy when you need to get an anchor point into rock quickly. Next round I'm going to use the crossbow to anchor the ring to the stone and snap the carabiner to Rhome's belt, effectively giving him a very solid bracing line.

Male Human Ranger 1

Cru takes another shot at the dog engaging his new friend, now with a little bit more luck.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Dmg: 1d8 ⇒ 5

And he nearly shoots off his own foot. This is getting a bit ridiculous, lol

Male Elf Wizard 1

on his next turn, Xamus is planning on attacking with his sword

No room. We're on a narrow staircase. Ratchet and Rhome are in front of you. No way to move past them or around them.

Sorry really busy this and next week and it is hard to find time to post especially in 13 different threads :)

Ratchet takes out a strange looking metal bolt from his pack and loads it into his crossbow.

Rhoh lacks any ranged weapon he stands back shield raised in defense towards the darkness wary that the goblin is still near.

The dog in front jumps up biting at Rhomes face Rhome dodges and the dog lands on an unstable part of the step causing it to slip and with a hol the dogs plummets down into the dark ravine until it can no longer be heard. The other dog watches as it's ally falls but quickly reverts it's attention to Rhome and runs at him maw first biting at his legs in an attempt to trip him it caches only air.

A ray of cold fly's from Xamus' finger tip and pierces into the dogs skin it whimpers and grows in defiance.

Cru takes another shot only this time he takes the time to aim pressingly the arrow is a bare hit and the dog whippers once more and nearly trips over the ledge.

Rhome is up

"Dammit lad, what'd ah tell ye?" Ratchet said snapping the carabiner to the back of Rhome's belt. Dropping the rope it's attached to onto the stone, he stabs the business end of his crossbow down towards the metal ring at the end of the rope and fires, slamming a metal bolt into the rock and pinning the ring to the stone. Rhome was now securely anchored by the back of his pants. "There. Swing away."

Move action- attach clip (on one end of a short rope) to Rhome's belt.
Free action- drop other end of rope.
Standard Action- fire crossbow, pinning rope to ground.

Sorry really busy lately.

Rhomes blade slices some of the thick "hide" of of the rat dog but it is a near miss and does little damage at that moment he nearly trips up but manages to regain his footing at the last second saving his life.

Ratchet attaches a clip to Rhomes belt attached to a short rope and fires the rockbitter bolt into the thick stone wall acting as a safe brace to avoid plummeting to his death.

Rhoh fires an acid dart at the dog on the stairs it seems hardly fazed as the acid dart penetrates it's thick skin.

The remaining dog growls as it whips it's dangerous maws at Rhome he evades the injured dogs attack with ease only to find an arrow fly from the darkness directed at him! The arrow strikes hard and opens a wound in his right shoulder but he can not see the goblin or were the arrow came from. it deals a minor three damage and the arrow reminds you of a familiar foe though he is not within sight he has gave away to his presence. Followed by the goblins successful shot comes a light and vile laughter and a low growl higher pitched than that of the other dogs.

Dwarves:
You spy out of the corner of your eye a familiar face (Not that goblins have any distinguished features to tell them apart) with it crouches a low walking dog much like the ones you face now only this one is noticeably smaller before you can worn the others of it's presence an arrow come flying from the darkness directed at the party.

Male Human Ranger 1

Cru takes another shot at the dog, although he sees that an arrow has shot out of the dark.

attack:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

Cru takes another shot at the last mutt on the rocky stairs, his shot goes wiry and flys into the dark ravine.

Rhome now secure thanks to the makeshift brace made by Ratchet he swings but this time concentrates more on hitting then holding his footing. He misses badly perhaps distracted by the goblin below.

Wow you are seriously unlucky at this rate you won't even make it to the dungeon :)

"Now where is tha' little blighter?" Ratchet growls, sighting into the darkness.

Holding my action. When the next shot comes out of the darkness, Ratchet is going to sight in on where it came from and take a shot.

Pre-rolling my attack

Two misses for the price of one...

Both dwarves can see the goblin who is currently hiding behind a pile of ruble so Ratchet can take his action now though yes the concealment roll is necessary to to partial cover.

Ratchet fires a bolt at the goblin the second he sees it's little head poke out from the debris the goblin shrieks as the bolt flys it's way but it bounces harmlessly off the rocks.

Male Human Fighter

"Gah! We have to get rid of these Hounds! I have an Idea, Unclip me!"

Stupid Heroics:

Losing arrows like a champ, Cru takes another shot at the dog.

Male Dwarf Druid 1

hmmm...
Rhoh will hang out in the initiative :P

Rhoh hangs out on his Initiative.

The foul dog bites at Rhomes legs to try and trip him off the ledge not that it would have much effect do to his brace. However the dogs weak attack is easily deflected by Rhome. The second of the dogs runs over to the stairs as well to protect it's master.

The goblin turns his attention from Rhome to one of the more vulnerable on the ledge he decides upon Rhoh who he already knows to be injured from before, it digs into his shoulder and sends a shudder of pain through his body he falls once again onto the dark rocky floor.

Xamus stands ready blade at hand but otherwise hangs on Initiative.

Cru loses another arrow into the ravine which to his and everyone surprise burst right through the dogs head dropping it dead.

Rhome decides to do some stupid heroics and unclips himself and charges forward towards the dog bashing it off into the ravine and eternal darkness the goblin shrieks at the loss of its last pet and determines his best way of retreat.

Rhome carefully continues his movement down the stone stairs before reaching the small landing below he falls into a defensive position should the Goblin strike again and calls up to is friends to clear the stairs. Ratchet follows short behind him reloading his crossbow as he reaches the bottom. Rhoh delays his action until Xamus can act as he can't pass anyone on the four foot wide stairs stately. The goblin out of any allies to protect him shrieks as he recklessly makes for his retreat once more down a new set of long stairs, you can't let him escape! The rest follow down the stairs cautiously watching each step only to be disappointed at the sight of another longer set of stone stairs leading further into the darkness. You curiously look up and see the surface a good eighty or more feet above you. This small ledge is covered with debris and other such filth and counts as difficult terrain. The goblin is well away from your sight and from this current angle you could not even get a shot on him anyway.

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Male Human Fighter

Rhome Moves Slowly Down the Stairs, Taking Care with his footing in the dim light, the peeks around the Corner to the next ledge, looking for the goblin

Very sorry people that I didn't forewarn you of my absence, but am back and with a new job (which is good) and ready to get back into the kick of things if you are all still around.

Ratchet quickly runs for the stairs hoping to catch the gob before he escapes, it is running swiftly down as Ratchet fires a bolt into the goblins back and it falls flat on it's face dead on the stairway below. This stairway is in no better condition than the last but with no immediate threat around you can easily take your time to reach the bottom, the stairs descend some forty or more feet downward into the darkness but your lit torches and magical light light the area enough for you to look around. This platform seems to have served as the resting place and housing area of the dogs, trash and litter sit in the far corner and several wooden bowls containing rotten meat sit in the far corner other then that there is nothing to see here apart from the now dead goblin corpse below your feet. Another set of stone stairs descend even farther into darkness not even the dwarves can see the bottom or next platform.

"Let's keep movin' boys. We need t' find a spot t' hole up an' patch our wounds."

At the edge of sight, a fortress top emerges from the darkness. The subterranean citadel, though impressive, seems long forgotten, if the lightless windows, cracked crenellations, and leaning towers are any indication. All is quiet, though a cold breeze blows up from below, bringing with it the scent of dust and a faint trace of rot. You continue your decent down the long set of stairs revealing more and more of the Citadel.

The narrow stairs empty into a small courtyard, apparently the top of what was once a crenellated battlement. The buried citadel has sunk so far into the earth that the battlement is now level with the surrounding cavern floor. The floor stretches away to the north and south, and it is apparently composed of a layer of treacherous, crumbled masonry, which reaches to an unknown depth. To the west looms the surviving structure of what must be the Sunless Citadel. A tower stands on the west side of the courtyard, a wooden door shut at the towers entrance. The masonry and debris covering the courtyard appears all but stable you may have to be careful were you step.

"Hold up a sec." Ratchet says now that things seemed safe.

Going back to the perilous stairs, he retrieves the harness he had made.

Taking some time to tie some adustable and secure knots, he snaps it onto one of the many rings on his armor. "Never know when we might need somethin' like that ag'in. Take point Rhome. Keep tha' shield up. Everyone else, ready fire. We're in the thick o' it now."

Remember your readied actions folks.
