Looking into the ravine you can see that the goblin has retreated after he fired off that last arrow none of you caught were he went. Though the three hounds still look up at you from the bottom of the ledge growling and snarling though they have no means to reach you.

Get 'is bleedin' stopped, I'll return fire!
Lying prone to take cover at the edge of the ledge, Ratchet fires at the dogs.

Nobody's down there. i managed to get up the rope thanks to a nice AC and some luck. Everyone's up top, and Rhoh is moving again thanks to a 4hp heal from this little stick 'o mine.
Not sure who's turn it is.
Cru likewise drops prone before taking a shot at any dogs still making an appearance.

Sorry this is my busy time so it is hard to keep track of 12 campaigns :)
Two of the dogs flee off with their master but the wounded one still stares at you and growls.
Rhoh and Cru drop prone and shoot down at the dog below it whimpers and falls over not quite dead but a bolt from Ratchet crossbow easily changes that.
The remaining enemy's are out of sight and making for the retreat or perhaps just waiting for the right time to strike. Combat is still going though the enemy's are out of sight.

"Well go ahead and use it then. We need you at full strength. We're gonna go down all together an' bottleneck tha' opening. Rhome, yer in front, shoulder t' the wall when ye git there. Rhoh, you behind him. Cru an' I'll keep yer flank."
Wareagle
Xamus and Rhome climb down the rope with little difficulty but there are no signs of the dogs or goblin who lead them nor can you hear them nearby in fact you hear absolutely nothing it is quiet...to quiet. The light from the stone still glows bright but everything out of it's range is pitch black (Only those with darkvison can see anthing down here without a light source.)
Rollibard "Ratchet" Piper
Once everyone is down and in formation, Ratchet digs a torch out of his pack and lights it. "Rhome's 'n front. Cru's 'n back. Break out tha' bow a yers. Ah'm b'hind Rhome. Rhoh, you're in front'a Cru. Elf, yer in th' middle o' th' pack. Ah got th' fire in case a' those magic lights o' yers go out. We move slow an' t'gether. Eye's peeled. When it widens out, we stop an' adjust formation.:
Wareagle
Everyone makes way down onto the platform and get into formation Ratchet lights a torch and makes his way in formation right behind Rhome. This platform is mostly bare save for the one now dead dog and a pile of filth in the corner, it is impossible to make out any tracks on the rock floor and the darkness does little to help that meaning the only way the goblin could have gone is down the stone steps leading downward. The stone stair case is only 3 feet wide and does not appear stable. Moving down these stone steps at a regular speed requires a DC 5 acrobatics check to avoid slipping and falling to your immanent death a slow pace of 1/4 normal speed allows you to safely make your way down no check required. You cannot see the bottom of the staircase from the top it goes down at least 50 feet of more.
Note to players: The ravine is PITCH black low light vision therefor has no effect only the dwarves can even see a thing without any source of light be it spell torch etc. Torches burn for two hour before they are done please keep track of any torches you burn out or that are blown out.
Rhoh Rockcarver
Rhoh will hope take it slow, this time making sure his shield is attached to his left arm, scimitar drawn, making his way down slowly between Ratchet and Cru (slow option, -5 on acrobatics with shield, and after that last debacle i'm not putting it away :P)
Perception
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Wareagle
Everyone slowly begins to make there way down one at a time Rhome takes front and begins his slow advance, within moments of you walking down the stone steps a loud growling noise can be heard which no doubt is the goblins dog henchmen DC12 perception to notice this in advance therefor allowing action on surprise round. Attacking or moving in combat on the stairs requires a DC 5 acrobatics to avoid slipping and possibly falling to your death.

Before long the dogs are running straight for you full speed ahead they easily manage to scale the rocky and dangerous stairs without slipping. Before long they are already beside you and biting with their dangerous maws. It catches him flatfooted a makes a vicious bite at Rhome tearing flesh with it. 9 damage to Rhome roll Fort please.

Round 1 summary:
Ratchet fires at the mangy dogs but his shot goes wild as he trys to avoid hitting Rhome.
Rhoh is lost in thought as to what to do so he concentrates on keeping his footing.
The dogs run from the darkness right up to you they easily traverse the terrain and gnaw away at Rhomes unprotected flesh.
Xamus lights a stone illuminating the area better.
Cru stay's back chilling with his bow. If you wished to attack this round let me know and give me some rolls before the dogs next turn.
Rhome clumsily swings at the dog at his feet but his blade goes wide right over the dogs head. He keeps his footing and returns to a defensive stance. 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8
Round 2 begins
Ratchet is up.

Hah! I meant to ask if I needed the acro roll, since Cru isnt moving at all. Action from the previous round:
Cru sees the dog attacking, and hears another one, but cant make it out in the light. He takes a shot at the first one, doing his best to avoid Rhome.
