Ah! well! down it is!
Rhoh starts fumbling around in his pack to pull out a clumsily tied strand of rope
[dice...wait...wait...use rope isn't a skill anymore *head-desk*
So ah've got fifty feet o' rope...I'm not one fer heights. Someone else can go take a peek down an see how far it might be.

Rollibard "Ratchet" Piper |

"Down. It's the 'Sunken Citadel", r'member?"
Ratchet looks at the rope with a disgusted expression.
"Gimme a bit. Ah'm gonna make sure our way down's plenty secure."
Breaking out some extra rope and some tools, Ratchet begins scoping out the pillars and the ravine.
Dropping a spool of rope, a handful of dowels and a spool of twine, he says "Rhoh, gimme a hand. You two, cram those through th' rope every couple'a feet an' secure 'em wit' the twine."

Wareagle |

It is dark and you cannot see the floor or were the knotted rope ends/leads.

Rhoh Rockcarver |

would knowledge dungeoneering allow for some splunkering knots? I'm under the impression there's a knot that might secure us to our plumbline, and allow us to lower ourselves slowly (similar to rappelling), possibly using the wall as a guide, but keeping the majority of our weight on the line? i dont even know if that's necessary
(in case it is)

Rhoh gets on his belly several feet from the edge and crawls on his belly to the edgeof the ravine to peer down

Missed the cutoff to edit, and missed the spoiler.
Well, I cant see the bottom, but I dont know if there is one. But there's some notches cut into the wall, I'm guessing to climb down. Too small for any of us though, but that means there's somewhere to go. What concerns me is the campfires around us. With the small notches, I'm thinking goblins?

Rhome Stalt |

Rhome assists the best he can with Rollibeard's rope and dowels
"Goblins!? Ma' used to tell us Goblins would come get us at night if we didn't go to bed on time... There was also once where a few of out chickens where missing, and the barn was a wreck, Dad Said it was prob goblins... But i've never seen one.. Anything i should know about em?"

Rhoh Rockcarver |

idunno... i made a dungeoneering roll I hate to bring up.
In the event that knot tying falls under the domain of survival that'd be fine by me :p
Survival
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
I think we're hoping to tie our own rope to the pillar, securely, and hopefully with some sort of safer system than a knotted rope going down (i might be hoping that if i tie really clever knots they'll convey some kind of circumstance bonus on climb checks to not fall...or even make it impossible to fall! :D). if that's not possible then ok of course. we'll just have to man up and climb down the old fashioned way.
Wow! look at that...I'm SO staying alive right now.

Rhoh Rockcarver |

Rhoh guffaws heartily
pah! who casts ligh' on a staff?? last fella' i know who tried tha' was almost eaten by a balrog! We have darkvision so even after nigh' comes we'll see jus' fine, don' worry yer li'le head o'er it. 'ere, cast i' on this an' we'll throw it down an see wha' we can see. thank the gods ye can cast it more than once. wouldn' it be stupid if ye could only cast it the once? I think it'd be stupid, it's only a cantrip really.
Rhoh hands Xamus a pebble and proceeds to start casting guidance on each member of the party mumbling something about the gods knowing they'd need it.
This spell imbues the subject with a touch of divine guidance. The creature gets a +1 competence bonus on a single attack roll, saving throw, or skill check. It must choose to use the bonus before making the roll to which it applies.
hope it helps! I'll obviously re-stock everybody when they use them

You drop the rock down into the ravine until it hits the ground making a light thud. Looking into the ravine you can now see that there is a small platform some 50ft down and the two knotted ropes barley touch the floor. There is also a set of rock stairs leading down further but you cannot make out were they lead.
If you climb down give a climb check (DC 0 only necessary if you have a negative in climb.) and tell which rope you climb down yours or the one already there.

Rhoh Rockcarver |

right...uh..ahem...Well even once I put this 'ere shield away I'm still not much of a climber...anyone care to maybe give me an 'and?
Rhoh is bright red with embrarassment at having to ask for help...but better ashamed than splattered on the bottom of the ravine.
-3 on my check. If one of you could give me that +2 from aid another that'd really help!

Rollibard "Ratchet" Piper |

"Yeh sound like ye autta be wearin a skirt with bows in yer beard." Ratchet scoffs finishing up a few knots. "Keep yer panties on and step inta this." he says holding out the makeshift climbing harness he's made out of a length of rope.
"You jus' climb on down that one. We'll anchor on the one attached to ye so's if ye fall ye won't fall far."
Aid another and a failsafe to keep him from falling.

Rhoh Rockcarver |

So someone has to give me a hand by making an aid another check (which just has a DC of 10 to give me a +2 bonus on my own check)
Assuming someone can do that (if not then subtract two)

You make your way down the rope with ease until a small arrow flies out from the dark making an easy mark at it's unwary target the shot is followed by fell shrieks and commands of an all to memorable loud and screeching voice, Goblins!
Arrow hits Rhoh for 3 damage.
Climbing down the ropes takes double move action and it may only support one at a time Mind you there are foothold leading down as well as another rope.

The goblin pulls back its bow string still aimed at Rhoh as he is the only one the goblin is wary of. Another one of the goblins small arrows digs into Rhohs knee and he yelps in pain. 3 damage.
Ratchet is lost in confusion and pulls out his crossbow in defense.
As the goblin dances in triuph and lets out several threats and such to the wounded druid an arcane missile digs into his side unexpectedly and in recoils and instantly stops it bolstering as it notices this will not be the easy victory expected.
Rhome yells down alerting the goblin of yet another above and it grows a nervous look.
Two dogs follow their masters orders and rush Rhoh like a pack of hungry wolves biting viciously at him and raking him with dangerous claws. It pounces on him lashing him continuously with it's claws until he falls unconscious. 7 damage. The other dog barks and growls at those above and the goblin yells out more orders to it. I did attach a rope to Rhoh, after all. Ratchet isn't strong enough to pull him up, so he's going to delay his action until Rhome can pull Rhoh up.

With your combined efforts you easily mange to lift up the unconscious dwarf mind you Cru is still down there with the hounds.
The hounds pay no attention to you lifting up the dwarf but the goblin does he yells and spouts commands at his pets which they don't heed. The blood thirsty dogs swarm Cru nearly knocking him from the ledge. Only one manages to get by your defenses and pieces your armor causing some viscous cuts.

Ratchet did tie a second rope about my waist, so my rope should still be there. Am i allowed put my two cents in, being unconscious? also, on my turn do I get another chance to stabilize or did you roll that for me? am I at -3 or am I stable at -2? or does being hauled up by the waist mean that I automatically fail stabilization rolls? :P

Wareagle |

As you make way up the rope the dogs make an attempt to bring you down and bit at your legs hoping to keep you down you make a deft maneuver and dodge the yipping dog and make way up to the top again. The goblin shrieks and yells at you as you reach the top.
The goblin curses you and fires off a arrow at you it goes flying over head and hits the nearby ground.

You and me both. I was little worried before I realized there was another rope. War eagle, are we still in combat? Not sure since they can't actually get to us. Either way Cru's next action is the same. .
