"My employer is tired and requires rest if he is to continue his way and if I were to get my pay for guiding him here. It would be much appreciated if room and board can be arranged now. We would have to set off once more come the morning or if my employer wishes to tarry more."
She grins once as if to share a joke.
"No Skin off my teeth if I get paid more."

She nods, "Yes yes, you must be tired after your journey." She stands up and walks over to the entrance of the kitchen. "Eugenia, Tarsi we have guests. Could you please show them to their rooms." You are then joined shortly by to elderly women both similar in appearance to Addas, though one of them wears a bright yellow scarf. "Forgive our appearance" the one wearing the scarf says as she straightens her apron. "We were making jams in the kitchen. My name is Eugenia and this is my younger sister Tarsi." Tarsi gives a small nod, "If your hungry I've got some beef stew on the fire." She says.

"A beef stew! Yes!" Ēoswulf smiles, clearly delighted. He goes to sit at one of the tables. "Where might I meet some other merchants nearby?"

You do not get any feelings that they are trying to poison or slip anything into your food.
Normally you could find this place busy with local shepherds and farmers, sadly things are a little slow as they have all gone off to the nearest city for a market day," Addas says in reply to Ēoswulf's question. After the stew is served Tarsi goes about clearing the table.
Eugenia approaches the group, "I hope the meal was enjoyable. Now we have three types of rooms available for the evening. If you'll follow me I'll show them to you," she says as she leads the merchants toward the east wing. This side of the inn has a large den, dominated by a large fireplace. A few tables and the upholstered chairs provide repose for guests of the inn, and assorted rugs of Qadiran manufacture cover the floor. "Here we have our basic room which rents for 5 silver pieces a night." She says as she opens one of the doors on the eastern wall. "We also have one of our mid-grade rooms over here which rents for 3 gold pieces a night." She says as she opens the door in the south east corner. "Of course if you need anything our room is right next door." She then leads the party to the west wing. "We have two more of the mid level rooms over here, along with our finest rooms which rent for 5 gold pieces a night. Also these rooms are next to our baths. We take payment in advance and do not be shy to ask for anything you might need."
Feel free to check out any of the rooms or the baths as she is giving you time to look at them. Just let me know which room and give me a perception check for each type of room you inspect.

Seeing as the opportunity presents itself, Geoclunicus examines each room. He is clearly just nosy, as he points out furniture and decorations of particular interest.

I only need one roll per room type as they are all similar enough to have no mechanical differences. Geo I'll take your second roll and use it for the finest room and disregard the last two rolls.

Fillia and Dunbar can look at Geoncluncious' spoiler.
The Pathfinders merchants select their rooms and make the necessary payment. "I hope you enjoy your stay, please feel free to use the baths to wash away some of the dirt from the road. Just let us know if you need anything." Eugenia says before returning to the common room.
Go ahead and place your tokens in the room you'll be staying in. You may wish to discuss your plan and what you have observed so far.

Ēoswulf smiles and thanks their hosts for their generosity.
Once alone with the party in his room, he says "Perhaps baths would be in order... it looked to me like one of those tubs is frequently moved. I bet it covers some sort of secret entrance."
Geoclunicus
|
"Interesting. I also noticed that our rooms have mechanisms to allow entrance even when locked, so I am not sure I would feel safe sleeping here. But I am surely up for seeing what secrets they may be hiding! Shall we wait a few hours first, or get right to it?"
Ēoswulf Gērmwynson

Ēoswulf taps his chin thoughtfully. "We could allow ourselves to be captured..."

Fillia Considers the options.
"I suggest that we do the following;"
We share mid priced rooms, head out at night and explore the place, maybe jammed the mechanism that allows access to our rooms, we could use the windows and observe that our hosts may not be setting unpleasant surprises for us." She points out each and every option and their benefits.
Ēoswulf Gērmwynson

"Perhaps we should explore the baths first, under pretense of needing a bath after our travel."

Geoclunicus gives the ok to open the trap door. A wooden ladder desends from above into this cluttered and dimly lit L-shaped room. Crates and bits of furniture are stacked against brick walls and oken doors lie to the east and south. Filla keeps watch and does not feel the ladies running the in are aware of what they are up to.
I'm ok with that Maximos, but as soon as you cast another spell you'll lose the illusion.

This area is bare save for a rickety side table and chair set against the north wall. A set of keys lies on the table, alongside a browned, half-eaten apple, stale crust of bread, and dull paring knife. Ironbound oaken doors lie on the eastern and western walls, and a door lined corridor stretches to the south.
