5 PCs are picked
To journey to a far land
To reclaim a throne.
Hello everyone, it's me again! After seeing this thread and having had time to think about it, I've decided to give running Jade Regent a try.
If you're curious as to my GMing style, go ahead and take a look at the other two campaigns I'm running here and here.
Anyways, here's my recruitment requirements!
Starting Level: 1
Starting Wealth: Average gold for character class.
Character Generation: 20 point buy.
Races: Any race at 15 RP or less.
Alignments: Any non-evil is preferred. If you REALLY want to play an evil character, I'd like to see a good justification for it.
Classes: Any class except the following: gunslingers (we're heading to fantasy Japan, not fantasy China), antipaladins (hopefully self-explanatory), or synthesist summoners.
Traits: 2 traits: 1 campaign, 1 other. I'll allow you to take a drawback for a 3rd trait.
Caravan Rules?: Ha. Ha ha. Ha ha ha ha ha. No. We're not going to be using these.
3rd-Party Stuff?: I'll need to see what you're suggesting for myself before I decide whether or not I'll allow it.
XP Track?: I'll level you up at appropriate points in the campaign.
Recruitment ends Wednesday, Feb. 11th, 2015.

Just checking, but stuff from Monster Codex is fine? Mainly pondering Winged Marauder.

Caerwyn Callandriil |

For your consideration, Caerwyn Callandriil, Half elf rogue (scout). He's been in a couple of JR games that never seemed to make it out of the swamp.
I plan on taking the first two levels in Rogue, then switching to Fighter for the next four, and then finishing it out as a Rogue.
Look him over and let me know what you think.

Let us live the adventure of our live.
Banzai, Banzai,BANZAI
Human Samurai
Order of the Dragon / or warrior will meditate on it
Melee and ranged combatant.

Sure. I'll allow it.

Dragoncat |

When will recruitment close? ^^
It'll close on Wednesday, Feb. 11th.
If I may ask. How often are you requiring posts?
Once a day is preferred. If you can post more often than that, I can definitely work with that as well.
Also not sure what RP Wayang I could not find it in the ARG. If it is above 15 please let me know and I can figure out a different class. Thanks!
I'll allow wayangs.

Dragoncat |

Anything in particular you are looking for in the submissions? What tickles your fancy in the applications :).
I'm looking for:
A) An interesting backstory: why would your character leave Sandpoint and go off adventuring?
B) A willingness to be a team player: being able to create a good group dynamic.
C) A willingness to put up with my mistakes. Because, rest assured, I will make them. :)
D) Being willing to let me know if you're going to be unavailable for posting so I can make arrangements to keep the game going.

Memitim |

This is an alternate racial trait for the wayang. Would you allow this trait? Thanks.
Dissolution's Child: Once per day, you may change your appearance to look as if you were little more than a 4-foot-tall area of shadow. Your physical form still exists and you are not incorporeal—only your appearance changes. This works like invisibility, except it only lasts 1 round per level (maximum 5 rounds). This is a supernatural ability. This racial trait replaces shadow magic.

Hola dragoncat. I was wondering if playtest material is allowed. If so I was thinking of going psychic, Maybe tranquility dicipline. Sort of a master of meditation. Possibly going lashunta to really flesh out the psychic vibe.
I don't have the playtest material for Occult Adventures, so I'm going to have to say no. Sorry.

Yay! Someone's here!
Just want to run this character by you, first- Ralph Quioxte, having wandered for fifty years to return to his lover from his youth, Koya, afer having traveled far across the sea against his free will, and he wishes to make her love him as she did in his youth.
Mechanically, he'll be a Bard, or the homebrew class I'm making called the Conductor.

Alright- Though I will admit, I'd rather he not be that offensive in his actions, which, unfortunately, the bard's kinda made for- Hence my proposal of the Conductor (Basically, bard re-focused into battlefield control).

Are Samsaran's an acceptable race? I can't find anything on their RP points. Got a couple of ideas right now, one almost finished, this question determines whether I do the other.
Also, will you accept two entries for consideration or just one per player?

I'll allow Samsarans into the running.
I'd appreciate it if you just submit one character per player.

Leaving a nice, cushy dot here.
As a disclaimer, I have played through book 1 in the past, though the game ended at that point under unfortunate circumstances. I am perfectly capable of separating character knowledge from player knowledge, but would this be an issue for you?
As long as you can keep player/character knowledge separate, it won't be a problem.

Ramaz the Half-Orc |

I have neither played in or GMed a Jade Regent campaign. And for that reason alone I would like to play in one. I submit to you Ramaz, Half-Orc Cleric of Gorum.
Eventually, the Zorak and Ramaz went to live near Sandpoint. Old Zorak would daily fish along the coast and up the Turandarok River, often selling his extra catch at the Sandpoint Market.
Ramaz was an outcast. Only Gorvi in Sandpoint, another Half-orc showed him kindness. Though it was of the brutal, pushing and shoving, Orcish type of kindness. A type of admiration that only those with Orcblood would truly understand.
As Ramaz got older, he began to long for adventure. Sandpoint was just too quiet; too human for this Half-Orc.

Gilbert Sternwood the Third |

I have never played Jade Regent, and all I know is that there are some NPCs, who our characters know. I have picked Koya, since all the information I have are the things on the Pathfinder Wiki.
Gilbert Sternwood the Third, a hunter, journeyman, gentleman, was born in a poor noble's villa, as a first and only child. He spend most of his early days hunting and traversing the forest, and due to his inborn magical abilities and his close relation to nature, became experienced with druidic magic. Since few, if any, druids are allowed in the lands of proud Sternwoods, his abilities are self-tought.
His childhood, while care-free and fun, was many, many years ago. At the young age of 17, his father passed away due to an illness. His mother followed soon after, unable to handle the grief. He loaned his manor and his land to Sandpoint and became a hunter for Koya and, by extend, the Desnian temple.
Combining the teachings of Desna and the desire (and need) to hunt, Gilbert, or Gil, spend many years hunting beasts for Sandpoint, yet always searching for bigger prey, be it bears, tigers or marine beasts. After hearing about the expedition, his blood and upbringing led him to join the expedition, with the offer of adventure and money being second to the opportunity of naming himself master hunter.
Gilbert is quite loud and brash if left to his own devices, but if need arises, the fading memory of formal behaviour and etiquette appears. He is also a surprisingly good judge of character, despite appearing as the stereotypical slightly dim nobleman hunter.
However, in the wilds is where he thrives, whether he is captivating on the fear of the prey as it's being chased by a man, who shows no remorse or fear, or playing the silent hunter, waiting for hours to release one arrow into his prey's heart.
He is loyal to his friends, his employers, and has the hunter's respect for his prey - he will never use poison, and shuns those who do vocally. Setting fire when hunting is also a quick way to lose his respect.
Duchess, his faithful animal follower, is showing each and every one of the traits of the common wolf. Despite that, Gilbert insists on her being a "Wolfhound" and will not agree with anyone telling him otherwise. Duchess is a fearsome beast, but as soon as Gilbert commands, she listens.
Stats will follow in a bit, decided to write the story beforehand. Gilbert will be an archer/spearman, as appropriate for a big game hunter, while Duchess is a melee controller.

Marten Rivers |

Here is Marten Rivers for your consideration.
Gryf and I are applying jointly if you will allow that. We are looking to play estranged brothers from the same druidic circle that grew apart after the death of their mother only now to meet again when Sandru's caravan arrives back in Sandpoint.
Marten and Gryf were both wardens of the wood in their younger days and acted as guardians and enforcers. Therefore both are front-line melee although obviously Marten as a druid brings divine and Gryf as a bloodrager brings some arcane.
Marten and Gryf were born into a druidic circle in the Sanos Forest. Both began training in the ancient ways of the druids to respect and protect nature but whilst Marten took to the training without difficulty, the tracks and trees becoming as familiar to him as his own reflection, Gryf found it far more difficult and a resentment began to grow in him. This became even more prominent when their mother fell ill and would later die. Furious and partially blaming Marten, Gryf left the circle to join a travelling caravan and seek his own way in the world. Now nearly a year later Marten has heard that Gryf is back in Sandpoint and is determined to make peace with his brother.

Gryf Rivers |

That is the idea me and Marten came up with while barebones we will both be writing our own back story for ourselves and really hope to grow off what he's shown here if picked, with natural RPing and just evolution of characters.
I will have my full back story up later tonight as i've already started on it.

Mahorfeus |

Great!
I've started work on Armon, a traveling minstrel that became a paladin of Shelyn after a group of bandits murdered his troupe and his beloved. In regards to the Caravan Guard trait, he travels frequently, protecting others from going through the same fate as himself.
I'll have the mechanics up soon. I am thinking vanilla paladin for the time being, but he may take up the temple champion archetype once/if he hits level 4.

Dragoncat |

Have not heard anything about setomi yet, so I hope she is ok..
Don't worry about it--your name's on the list of applicants. If your name's on the list, then your character is fine.
EDIT: I hope that the Rich Parents trait is OK, I thought it just made sense.
It's alright by me.
