"I shall be fine. But Yurei could use aid, spirit." Uesugi gathers the goblins together carefully and begins to search for anything that might be of value or use.

Searching through Izgarp the Trumpeter's pockets, you're able to find two potions of cure light wounds, three vials of acid, three vials of alchemist's fire, a scale mail, her brittle horsechopper, a handful of bent, tarnished coins, and a loose string of pearls that might be of some value to a merchant.

Sirettis and Mr. Peppers hear the sounds of goblin-song and screaming from the direction of the shepherd's homestead.

Did I understand that right - Mr. Peppers finished off old bluey?

"Oh, of course." Sirettis helps Yurei recover with her wand.

No sorry, Mr Peppers would ask someone else to do it, or at least put the thought out there, he wouldn't want to get splattered.

D. heads over to the goblin.

Holding his right arm diagonally downwards from his side, a glowing fiery red katana appears.
It seems to take a slight strain on his own wrist, as his veins seem more visible near his wrist.

Taking 1 burn.

The blade vaguely humms, and D. slashes the goblin.

After which the weapon disappears.

At the sound of more singing, he merely looks the way of it.
"We have more work to do."

You make your way southwest towards the sounds of screaming. As you close in, you get a better look at the home - a simple one-story, wooden farmer's house located in the corner of a fenced-in pasture. South of the house, separated by a wooden fence, is a large barn. The door is shut and barred, and through it, agitated neighing is heard as its denizen is clearly disturbed by the presence of goblins. The horse slams its giant hooves against the barred door, crumbling some of the wooden planks off as it snorts in agitation.

Circling the house are a goblin rider and two bile-covered goblins, giggling to themselves and searching for a way into the home. A frightened woman screams in terror as she peers through the window at the goblin and its mount and a man shouts down at it. "We only wish to tend to our sheep! Leave us alone!"

The goblins are too busy focusing on tormenting the family and have not noticed your approach, nor have they noticed the angry horse in the barn.

Sirettis watches D conjure a weapon of pure force to dissect the goblin. She studies the strain on him carefully. She walks up to him and asks "Do you need...recovery?" As she touches him with the wand, nothing happens. She noticed her hair didn't even react like it did with Yurei. "Ohh...is there nothing I can do, for you then?" She ponders what to do, only for Miss Poshkettle to break her concentration with a thanks.

"Oh. Your welcome..." Sirettis switches to a different wand and applies it, forming a layer of force around her.

I know how burn works, but Sirettis doesn't. Also, using my Wand of Mage Armor.

If you need healing, Sirettis will be glad to help.
Sirettis peers at the edge of the barn. "What is the best way to approach?" Sirettis ponders and draws her crossbow. "The horse will make quite a distraction if it bolts, but can we get to the barn without notice?" She tugs at her hair subconsciously.

Uhuh, the thought is appreciated ;)

"I'm not hurt, Sirettis-san. That side effect will probably go away after a night's rest."

Uesugi looks on watching the wicked creatures torment the woman in the house. Moounted atop Yurei he looks down as the spirit begins to unsttap her crossbow. "They have yet to see us if we move quick and quiet enough we can send our arrows their way and then rush to meet them. Those that run Yurei and I will chase down."

Red what's the distance from us to goblins/house? Any cover of any sort to move up closer?

Mr Peppers looks with curiousity at D when his blade materializes out of nothing then disappears again. "Now that's interesting.."
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
Knowledge: Arcana: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

No real prep for Mr Peppers other than reloading his crossbow and stowing his wands. If they decided to go the stealthy route he'll take 10 for a 13. PS, Is there a map for the farm available?

"Attacking from afar is much prefered Uesugi, at least to weaken them. If there's a place to hide from their arrows that would be good. Goblins are pretty good with a bow." He then turns to Sirettis "I'm not sure if we release the horse if they'd kill it, we'd hate to do that to the farmers."

You're roughly 30-40 feet from the house. There's fencing all around that won't offer much in the way of cover, especially considering you're mounted. They're goblins, though, and they're not exactly concerned with looking out for approaching danger...

EDIT: There's no map for this part unless combat breaks out, in which case I'll use one from the map pack. The barn with the angry horse is about 30 feet from the house too.

Uesugi draws his bow pulling back the string and nocks an arrow. Yurei's ears perk up at the sound of the penned horse attempting to bust out of the barn but she remains still allowing Uesugi to sight the mounted goblin.

"My arrow will seek the mounted one. If we are all ready?"

"Certainly."

Gallix draws his sling and loads a bullet, then begins swinging the sling around quickly. "Ready. I'll shoot for one of the ones not mounted."

Mr Peppers nods, doing his best impression of a trained sniper, as he sneaks along the fence line with his crossbow at the ready, trained on the dog.

"Ready whenever"

Cup is already mounted, whip in hand, ready to ride in on Oolong at the group's signal. "I'll start up song on your signal. Ready."

She can feel Oolong's eagerness, the dog already pacing, eager to just run.

"Raaawwwwwwk!" Longjing lands on Uesugi's head with a thump. "Dragons are born ready!"

Sirettis prepares to wait for the party to fire, then knock the first goblin asleep who gets within 30 feet of her. Will Save DC 15 to resist

The goblins are oblivious to your combat preparations as they continue to circle the home, determined to get inside.

Order is Mr. Peppers > D > Cup > Longjing > Uesugi > Sirettis and Gallix. Unless you've already posted your action, Everyone, go! This should be quick!

Uesugi let's Longjing land upon his kabuto and waits a moment for his helmet to stop moving as the feathered dragon settles. Without one quiet word he pulls back and whispers "UTE!" letting the arrow fly towards goblin. Not even a breath later he watches as several more objects speed towards the unsuspecting goblins and the goblin dog.

No sense in arguing with the PDF in this case... so long as the roles aren't reversed.. then argue hard.

Cup starts to sing, and encourages Oolong forward.

+1 attack and damage

Sirettis waits for the arrows to fly, then uses her slumber hex (Will Save DC 15) on a survivor (goblin dog is priority).

Mr. Peppers manages a weak shot at the goblin dog, and the trio quickly turn as they notice the various projectiles flying their way. Uesugi's arrow implants itself into the wooden barn as he misses, but D destroys the goblin riding the dog with a blast of sand.

I think we're just waiting for Gallix to roll his hit and then Sirettis' hex will activate

Gallix's stone manages to find its way through the field and whacks the filthy dog in the head. Sirettis tries to hex it but it covers its face with its paws and whimpers, somehow resisting the effects.

Both of the goblins and the dog are now fully aware of your presence and hold their small swords up in preparation to attack!

"They have horse, Zeg... Stay back, horse dangerous. Get big ears instead!" One goblin says to the other in Goblin.

Mr Peppers reloads: "Crank, crank, crank.. click click click. Safety on, insert bolt... give it a good shake, aim, safety off... fire!" He runs through the process aloud. Something he doesn't seem to do when not under the heat of battle.

He fires again at the dog he just grazed then takes a 5' step towards a melee ally for cover after he hollers something in big ear speak.
Light Crossbow of Dwarven Make + Inspire: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 1 = 81d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Mr. Peppers dwarven crossbow just doesn't work well in his elven hands and the arrow flies past the doggie.
Terrified of two horses in his presence, the red-cloaked goblin drops his sword and goes ranged, firing an arrow at Yurei and cutting a very light scratch across her shoulder.

"Zeg, Zeg! I hit horse!" The goblin also picks his nose and flings it at Yurei as a free action.

D is up, Uesugi can also go

"Heh...Uesugi-san's not going to be merciful on you, goblin."

Uesugi drops his bow to the ground and taps both of his heels into Yurei's flank while whispering to his beautiful steed. Yurei gallops straight for the goblin while Uesugi draws his katana. Just above his head the feathered dragon flies along squawking with the rage of dragon.

The goblin screams in terror and at the last minute jumps out of the way before Yurei can trample him. Uesugi is ready though and he slashes at the head of the maniacal beast even as Longjing swoops by the goblin distracting it even more.

A confetti of goblin dog sprays the side of the house as D's sand blast obliterates the creature. Cup trips the red-eyed goblin and the blue-nosed goblin surveys the scene and realizes he's far outnumbered. He turns and frantically runs away from the homestead and back into the woods. Uesugi seizes the chance to charge at the remaining goblin with Longjing on his shoulder, slashing its head into two equal parts with a swipe of his katana.

He pulled out a shortbow and dropped his sword, so Longjing will avoid the AoO

Combat is over. Unless you want to chase blue? :)

"Let's ensure the safety of the people inside."

"We have chased the goblins off. Are you safe?" She calls out to the home.

"Do you guys need healing or aid? You've been through a harrowing experience." Cup dismounts Oolong, and looks up at them, acting fairly harmless.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

Uesugi chases down the goblin not willing to let any of these beasts free to pillage the land.

Gallix turns to the building and calls out the farmers, "Don't worry, gentle countrymen, for your farm has been saved from the goblin menace by....The Red Arm of Absalom! Are you all unharmed?"

A samurai on a horse outruns a small goblin any day, and Uesugi easily catches up and lances the goblin through the head with his katana.

The man opens the front door of the homestead and falls to his knees, weeping tears of joy. Now at eye level with Cup, he grabs her by the shoulders. "Thank you so much! Those fiends would have broken in here had you not shown up, and done who knows what..." The woman and the younger shepherd who you had seen earlier also run to the front door and offer their thanks. "We are not harmed, although Brunella sounds as if she got quite the scare too." The horse in the nearby barn has quieted with the defeat of the goblins.

"Have you come from Saringallow?" The son asks. "I saw you out at the stream earlier. My name is Carlo. Carlo Escoro. You don't look like farmers. What brings you to Escoro Homestead?"

"We are Pathfinders from Absalom, summoned by Mayor of Saringallow to investigate the recent rise in goblin attacks and hopefully put them to an end." Gallix looks down at one of the goblins to check for the tell-tale signs of the Bile.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Cup smiles up at him. "We're not farmers. My family runs a tea shop in Absalom. But we were here to help out with a bug problem in Saringallow, and then found out about Nixa, a cousin of Nolaria, who was last seen in these woods. Have you seen any sign of her?"

Uesugi dismounts and looks around taking note of the direction the goblin was running in. He bends down on a knee and starts to search for any tracks that might look like goblins. Seeing none he gets up drags the goblin while walking Yurei.

Yurei snorts at the smell of the goblin, but Uesugi pats her to let her know not to worry. Taking the reins in one hand and the goblin in the other hand he walks back to the farm.

Survival: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Seeing the goblins fall quickly to those skilled at killing them Mr Peppers half sighs and half shrugs his shoulders. Killing goblins is not my calling in life, everyone has a role to fill. He takes his time reloading his crossbow then stowing it back over his shoulder while Uesugi runs down the remaining goblin. He straightens up his robes and pushes his hair from his eyes and heads to the house to greet the farmers with the others.

He nods along with the others and introduces himself "I'm Mr Peppers, we're happy to help, I'm just glad we arrived at just the right time. Does someone want to double check on that horse and barn? I'm not one to chance getting kicked in the face by a startled horse myself." He then pulls out his journal to scratch off any accounting notes for the Mayor and prepare for the interview of the farmers.

"Mind if we come in and ask a few questions? Miss Cup here makes some fine tea." Diplomacy Aid: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

D. watches as Uesugi chases down- and kills, the fleeing goblin.

Problem solved.
He turns his attention back to the social talk.

"He's correct, she makes good tea."

It might be the splatter of goblin blood, or something they've seen him do in combat, that doesn't quite match his battle mindset with talks about tea.

Garreni Escoro heads out and towards the barn to double check on Brunella, and Carlo and his mother smile warmly and welcome you inside. "Absalom? Why, I've never been so far out of Isger. Welcome to our humble farm."

"Yes, please have a seat. You could probably use a break after exterminating those goblins," Ophania says, pulling out a few chairs in her kitchen for you to sit.

Carlo sits with you and listens. "The names Nixa and Nolaria don't sound familiar to me. Sorry. I haven't seen anything unusual other than these blasted goblins covered by that weird, purple oozy stuff. What sort of questions did you have?"

"If you're here to investigate the goblin attacks, I can show you where I'd last encountered them. I have a feeling those there weren't the last of them so an investigation and possible elimination would be just the thing we'd need. Goblins can be quite persistent..." He frowns, concerned about his parents safety.

Seeing Garreni head to the barn Mr Peppers motions to Uesugi and Gallix if they would go along with the farmer to the barn "Just in case a goblin snuck in?" Then gets his head back into the book.

"Oh, Miss Cup you wouldn't mind making that great tea of yours would you? Before we get started? I'll just take down some basic information." He then takes a glance around the room. "You all have a very cozy home here. You must really enjoy the freedoms of being outside the crowded city walls." Then continues to move the pen across the pages in large flowing Elven script.

"Stay away from the purple substance and do not eat it under any circumstance." Sirettis informs them as Isa hops onto the table. "You should speak to Father Ildris if you find a large supply of it, or you need to exterminate flies."
