* The information that Karavakos is to the north was IIRC possibly suspect/incorrect... Having said that, it's as good a place as any as far as Yessai is concerned.
*
The otyugh has DR/natural weapons or unarmed strike.
A (normal) gauntlet counts as an unarmed strike, but a spiked gauntlet does not.
Can someone please make this work flavorwise for me? Mechanically it's fine, coz them's the rules. Flavorfuly it's madness. Why would a spiked gauntlet be different to natural fist spikes. Why is an unarmed strike (which for a monk might be an elbow, knee, forehead, kick, punch etc be different from a club or mace? :)
What if a used the palm of my spiked gauntlet? ;)* Sure. On my turn I'll ask the head if it has any capabilities/advice. Unless someone else wants to first.

I think just being an unnatural animal that is infused with magic and may or may not have any affiliation with some form of evil entity, possibly, is enough to throw it in the "Its EEVIL! Kill it!!" bracket :)
Them papadins and their predijuces >_>
As for "my quest/goal" Midioto just wants to have fun, explore the world and make friends. He also lives a very long time, so hes not too worried about his current entrapment. He doseent even care about Krovos, but that is what his friends are aiming for.
Ok, im going to start pulling peeps out, starting with those Midioto knows and trusts first, and those in immediate danger second.
Priority: De, Thomas, Vass, Mundo/Gem
Immediate danger: Thomas, De, Gem, Vass, Mundo
i am also on the North side of the pit.

Sounds good Midioto.
And just for consistency - it's Yess or Yessai. Vassekh-Arokh is the clan name. Annoying I know, but there you have it... ;)
As for motivation or "quest" Yessai is really just here for the adventure too. She doesn't believe Karavakos' promises, nor does she have a particular beef with him...

i am also on the North side of the pit.
There is no north side, there is an west side (where Mundarion and the rats are) and an east side (where you came in). The north and south are walls:)
As to whether the Charnel Lord is relevant to your goals...
the only thing you really know about it right now is that it attacked you first. Vyrellis said it has been there almost as long as the Pyramid itself, so the more intelligent creatures in nearby rooms (including the sahuagin) might know more about it. Killing it might also make some factions happy while angering other factions.
Whether either of those contribute to your character's goals is something only you can decide.

Midiotoziggeroto |

Oops. I'm on the east side (thomas is now as well).
@Yass. Ahh, now I see my mistake :) honestly V and Y look so similar that I will probably get that one mixed up for a while :( Apoligies in advance!!
Btw Midioto is writing a journal that details everyone he has met so far, including you guys, and you can probably see it when we rest next time :) (I have found it to be an amazing tool in other games)

Midiotoziggeroto |

Yay!! I'm helping!
Oh, as for making its dr work flavour wise, it could be that it is resistant to manufactured things (and wood :p) but not to organics. It could be that it is resistant to the things it eats, like garbage. Not a perfect explination, but it kinda works :p

The Charnel Lord is an obviously unnatural monster put in a dungeon run by a fiend who captured us, and it attacked us first. If that's not grounds for a servant of evil, I don't know what is.
Thomas will be back for this creature, out of principal if nothing else.

![]() |

@Thomas, oppressive expectations ends when you make a successful check of that kind right? If so, i think i can help you remove that -2 to climb fairly easily...

![]() |

I was still wondering where where exactly we were going, not much to do seeing as the enemy is immobilized in a pit and everyone is safe (besides the rat swarm)

Deranged_Maniac_Beth |
Any chance of a map, however rough, DMB?
Well, you've only been to three rooms so far, so there wouldn't be much on it (yet). At some point though I will probably make a map though, since it will become confusing referring to "that room four rooms to the west and one to the south", and everyone trying to remember what was there, especially since the room layout isn't all grid-like.

a good site that i use for that kind of thing is Roll20.net, it has a fairly comprehensive toolbox and allows you to import your own images, as well as hide/reveal areas as you need them. also free, so even better for those of us that are misers (like myself)

now, since i have very little else to do at the moment, having finally completed preparations for my game of the updated B4: the lost city module, i figured i'd price up how much the various wonderous items people want made will cost, if they are custom, such as my own bracers of gravity bow 1/day. so if anyone has any items they would like, just give a shout, easy as pie to make.

nah, using it as a teaching module for a couple of friends, probably going to run the next campaign with some PbP elements and would be happy for you to join... i was so happy when i found a copy of B4 updated for pathfinder, it was the first module i ever ran and is still my favourite out of the older modules, followed closely by X1.

Just on the subject of my next campaign, i'm using my own campaign setting for it and just wanted some opinions on it. I'm using a shattered earth setup, similar to the old spelljammer setting but at the same time completely different. To cut to the crux of most of the fluff, the gods and an as-yet-undisclosed other entity/s engaged in a massive war which shattered the planets of the prime plain, leaving a "archipelago" of planetoids with atmospheres drifting instead of a single large planet. I'm intending to use some futuristic, but unstable elements in the campaign, as well as some more cliched sci-fi elements, such as barbarian humans from another galaxy region with the advanced tech and possibly xenomorphs on a couple of planetoids. most of the time however, the game-play will remain the same as normal, with only some new items/effects. anyone able to see any flaws and/or has some form of input about this? any help is appreciated.

Mundarion |

I am drawing a blank on the name of the novel, but Larry Niven wrote one where the "world" was in fact a toroidal mass of breathable atmosphere that surrounded a star at the right distance so that it could sustain life. "Integral Trees" or something like that may have been the novel's title. If you can find it you might want to check it out as Niven does hard SF really well and he had a reasonable explanation for how such a "world" could exist. Darned if I can remember the details though.

@DMB, was wondering if i would be able to make a version of the blunt arrows for the crossbow, so that i can deal ranged non-lethal damage.

Daemonslye had a series of posts about and gives dropbox access on request. send darth_borehd a message about it.

I'm a bit tempted to add a group of nine Silver Bells to one of the rooms in the Pyramid:)

![]() |

do it and will harvest that poison for my own use >_<... perhaps i could use that a money making scheme... silverise a large creature that the mass of silver would sell for more than the cost of the poison, rinse, repeat...

Hey guys, this is The Kommandar, Claptrap, Midiotoziggeroto, Alex Armstrong, Moneez here.
First a little bit. I struggle with Bi-Polar depression, i have my entire life and i still have not managed to gain any lasting stability in my 25 years of fighting with it.
Over the last while, more then a month i believe, it has taken a turn for the worst, it has gone downhill tremendiously and chaoticly.
I lost the ability to do many things, including most of the things i enjoy, like pathfinder. I am just simply unable to do them right now. Its too overwhelming.
I also have been wanting to write this a long time ago, but had the same issue. sorry it has taken so long.
Anyways, i do not see me being able to continue playing this for the immediate future so i am going on hiatus for a while, while i focus on my life.
I truly wish that i can come back to this sometime, i was having so much fun with my teleporting Midioto, my crazy robot with a few screws loose and my goblin general. I only hope that when that comes i might be able to rejoin, or create new stories with you guys.
Have fun and i wish the best to you :)

Thanks for the heads up Midioto. I hope you can find your way through the morass. It is a dark beast that pulls no punches. I send you strength. Prevail!

Gobo Horde/Midio:
I am sorry to hear about your depression. It is something I have struggled with for a long time as well, so I understand how you feel. I enjoyed having you in the game while you could be. I hope I can play with you again some day, if not in this game then in another. Goodbye for now, and good luck.

posting this in all 28 of my games (although some of them are dead, i am pretty sure... and others are quite slow so my absence will not be missed overmuch):
There are two hurricanes heading for Hawaii, where I live. One is supposed to land on Friday after being downgraded to a tropical depression, the other is supposed to land Sunday with experts unsure as to how much it'll be downgraded after colliding with the mountains.
I'm sure everything will be fine, so no need to worry. People are freaking out for some reason, but I remain in a state of relative readiness.
I anticipate a loss of internet, at a minimum (they can barely keep it together under optimal conditions). Likely loss of power as well. A time without electricity could last anywhere from four days to four months (with some time around one to two weeks being more realistic).
I'll be on between now and then, but if i just disappear, check the news, hahaha.
