Feeling his rage burn within himself again Arctorus swings his mighty axe at the flaming skull striking it hard his weapon bites deep, but not enough to extinguish its life force. (FYI, critical didn’t confirm.)

Seraph attacks again with the same missing result. The floating skull is just too fast at dodging her blow.

Arabeth Shouts in Celestial as she moves to intercept the lizardfolk carrying the child. He hiss back in draconic language.

Torod redirects the burning sphere to the lizard facing him. The Monitor lizard can’t jump out of the way as it gets burn by the fire. Then Torod brings Wyandare down on the lizard wounding it severely.

Three lizardfolk braves continue to attack Arctorus, blue hits with his spear as does the green one. Purple misses.

The flaming skull rages in pain as its light dims from Arctorus’ attack, and then it screeches ”No you can not have the boy his fear is too delicious!” It withdraws flying straight to the lizardfolk and Tig. Only Arctorus with his superior reach can swing at the skull as it moves, but it fails to connect. Seeing the flaming skull Tig starts to scream again in terror ”Nooo. Get it away! AAAaaaAAAaaa..” The Flaming Skull seems to feed on the boy’s fear as its glow streathen and it heals some of its wound.

Meanwhile, the lantern archon flanks the wisp with whoever's available and fires...!

Seraph, seeing the others pile on the wisp, moves into flanking position and swings her greatsword at the horrible thing! This time, she foregoes a chance to hit harder in an effort just to hit...!

Seraph attacks and flanks 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 2 = 13 for 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (2, 6) + 4 = 12 damage.

Arabeth scrambles to her feet and tries to help free Tibefore moving away with the boy.

She also tries again to protect Tig from any evil influences from the skull.

Cast 'Protection from evil' on Tig (If the spell did not get cast previously due to 'Mostly dead'). Other wise 'Sheild of faith'..

Not sure what skill to use against the knots...

Torod tells Arabetht to get Tig out of there, then he shifts back and fires an arrow at the skull missing it as it easily doges the attack.

Chuffy runs over to guard tig snapping at the skull ineffectively.

Arctorus swings his axe at the spirit skull, but misses badly.

Asta tries to sneak past the flaming skull to heal Arabeth, but is attacked by the skull as she moves by getting shocked. She tries to calm Tig with words.

The Lantern Archon moves to flank and makes ranged attacks next to the skull, missing it both times.
(Archon Lantern has no melee attack that can threaten squares with, so no flank and can’t make AoO.)

Seraph moves up swinging at the flaming skull missing as well.

Not understanding Torod’s words Arabeth scrambles to her feet and cast protection from evil on Tig.

Tig freed and being protected stops screaming, his fear subsides into more of a general frightened condition, but he feels safer with all the heroic people protecting him.

The flaming skull laughs ”Ha Ha Ha, foolish mortals. Thank you for the delicious feast for fear and death today. I look forward to feasting on your deaths soon when the troll king rips you limb from limb. Enjoy your short life, for we will meet again soon!” It winks out vanishing from sight.

The helpful lizardfolk shakes his claw at the air speaking in draconic ”You are no ancestor of ours, you are evil incarnate.”

No, but I wasn't sure someone wouldn't attempt to find the flying skull and try to continue the fight. So, combat if over if you want it to be.

Arabeth moves about the group casting healing and 'Lesser Restoration' to those who ned it. She extends such courtesy and good will towards the lizard folk who only moments ago were fighting them.

After the flaming skull vanishes, Asta starts to heal those she can, speaking to the lizardfolk offering unite against common enemies.

The helpful lizardfolk, looks around at the carnage, replying in his draconic tongue ”We are a shadow of our former selves.”

Arctorus looks around for any foes, but finds none.

Arabeth moves about the group healing those she can.

Arctorus calms down leans on his axe asking if the lizardfolk are done fighting.

The helpful lizardfolk looks ashamed as he replies, ”The false spirit duped our chief and brough ruin upon my tribe, there are few enough left to care for the dead. There is no fighting left here.”

Tig calms down after you untie him ”Gosh, thank you, thank you that skull threatened me, my family. It ordered the lizards to put me in a pit of ells tied up, it was awful. Thank you for saving me. First I was captured by a troll and escaped, then hid from a giant, and ran from a dragon. I though the hermit was going to help be but he traded me to the lizardfolk for a brace of rabbits. Can I go home now Maw and Paw are probably worried sick. Am I in trouble?”

You don’t have any problems resting and return home from here. The lizardfolk are no longer a threat.

"Let us at least help these people bury their dead," Asta says, "or whatever else it is they do."

She addresses the Lizardman:

"We never had any wish to be your enemies. Let us help you in taking care of your dead, and perhaps we can also help you grow strong again, so we can be allies hereafter. To be honest, swampland does not appeal to many of our kind, but we know you enjoy it, so we would not need to intrude on each other's territory all the time."

To Tig, she says: "What your mother and father say to you is between you and them, and we are not going to interfere with that. But you are clearly a quick and clever lad, and you will probably have quite the future. Lord Torod here thinks you might make a good Outrider one day -- or we might have a different kind of job for you, come the day, provided you study hard, train hard, and apply yourself. How does that sound?"

Arctorus looks around at the broken lizardfolk tribe once his breath is recovered. They weren’t too terribly unlike him. More snakey than dragony. But they both had scales, fangs, and claws.

”Queen. The tribe is broken. They cannot survive out here alone. Not enough of them. Let them come back to town with us. I can protect them,” Arctorus says as he steps over to the lizard king’s body and picks up his trident. He looks the weapon over and tests it’s heft.

"Ah... My warrior friend suggests we offer you the opportunity to come with us and live in our kingdom, as free citizens. I do not mind extending the offer, but you would have to obey our laws, and it would not all be easy. On the upside, you would be free citizens; not slaves, and once you were strong again, you would be free to return to the swamp if you so chose."

Arctorus tried speaking the language for the first time.

”She...tell...truth. Me...keep safe...”

He did not know why...but it seemed natural to him.

Draconic:
”Join us. They took me in. You can too. Lake near town. Plenty of food. No worry of predator.”

Arabeth helps however she can to assuage the ills of both her companions and the Lizard-folk tribe.

Queen Asta and her council can use folk with your ability. I want to offer you a place with the Outriders. Asta offers to help take care of the lizardfolk dead.

Red lizardfolk, nods looking around speaking in Draconic ”There is too much meat here for those of us left, much will spoil before thoses of use left can eat. It is your right as victors to partake of the feat of the dead.”

She also speaks with Tig suggesting he could become an Outrider one day.

Arctorus looks at the remaining 5 lizardfolk and asks Asta if they can take them back with them. Sorting through the battlefield Arctorus find the chiefs items
+1 Keen Trident,
+1 leather armor,
potion of cure serious wounds, and
2 told armbands worth 100gp each.

The three lizard King’s consorts bodies each wore several items of jewelry worth 1000gp for each consort (3000gp total).

In the lizard King’s hut you find the follow:
Coral crown embedded with lapis lazuli worth 500gp
A malachite statuette of a serpentine dragon worth 200gp
Various furs worth a total of 300gp
And 575gp in coins.

In the North mud hut you find offerings made to the ancestor spirit containing.
A masterwork cold iron longspear
A Tree feather token,
A ring of swimming,
Animal skins worth a total of 100gp,
3 citrines worth 50gp each
And 119 in assorted coins.

Asta makes an offer to the remaining lizardfolk to join the kingdom.

Arctorus speaks in broken draconic urging the lizardfolk to join.

Red lizardfolk thinks about it for a moment before speaking to Arctorus in draconic, ”You defeated our chief in one to one combat. We are but a few workers, but You are our new chief we will do as you command.” The 5 remaining lizardfolk bow to Arctorus as a sign of there fealty.

Arabeth helps where she can.

Torod speaks with Tig praising his bravery and skill at surviving and offers to make him a junior Outrider.

Tig looks likes he is about to cry out of pride ”Yes sir, I will do my best!”

Asta looks at the lizardfolk pledging fealty to Arctorus, and gives a quiet nod.

"Arctorus, a moment," she says. "If you are to be the leader of a people, then it is no longer appropriate to keep you as a squire. If you are willing, I shall hereby bestow upon you the title of Knight of my kingdom. The Island to which you wish to transplant your new subjects would be your first piece of land, whereupon you will be expected to maintain law and order. We realise the title and its duties may yet be unfamiliar to you, but you can learn on the job, and you will still be a free citizen of the kingdom.

How say you? Do you wish to take upon you the privileges and obligations of the knighthood, as well as the leadership of these unhomed people?"

Arctorus looked at the bowing lizardfolk with a confused look. Then Asta pulls him aside and starts using a lot of confusing words. ”What is an eye land? And what does night time have to do with it? You and your friends took me in, I will do as you ask.”

He looks to Seraph, then back to Asta and asks ”Will I still serve Seraph?”
