You continue to follow into the forest (Hex J6) for the next hour before the long days of travel cause the leaders to be fatigued once more.

After about 20 minutes of rushed travel in the dark woods a clearing opens up. The light carried reviles an enormous old dead hollow tree in the clearing it shows many recent signs of damage from teeth, bashing, and being eaten away by something. Asta feels that Croft is within the hollow tree.

Burned by the acid, Arabeth quick dismounts out of the fog slapping the horse in the process causing it to run out of the way. She establishes a life link to Torod taking on part of his acid burn wounds. (I though Arabeth keep life links up 24/7 as long as everyone stayed within range? Or did you mean Shield Other? Torod isn’t fast enough to dodge the acid cloud as he feels the burn. Drawing his bow then notching an arrow he fires at the drake, but misses by a fair distance.

Chuffy howls at the flying beast. (Note Chuffy was not in the acid affected air.)

Both Asta’s and Arabeth’s horses make a fast retreat from the clearing.

The four outriders dismount and send their horse back down the trail, as they form a fire line.

Prerequisite: Fly speed.
Benefit: A creature with this feat can halt its movement while flying, allowing it to hover without needing to make a Fly skill check.

If a creature of size Large or larger with this feat hovers within 20 feet of the ground in an area with lots of loose debris, the draft from its wings creates a hemispherical cloud with a radius of 60 feet. The winds generated can snuff torches, small campfires, exposed lanterns, and other small, open flames of non-magical origin. Clear vision within the cloud is limited to 10 feet. Creatures have concealment at 15 to 20 feet (20% miss chance). At 25 feet or more, creatures have total concealment (50% miss chance, and opponents cannot use sight to locate the creature).

As the drake dives in for its attack, Arctorus wacks it hard and wounding it.

Torod takes aim through the cloud of flying debris firing twice, but both shots miss.

Arabeth is unsure as to do.

Arctorus is very sure of what he should do as he swings again at the large drake but misses.

An Exhausted and wary Seraph followed by the remaining outriders ride up to the sounds of battle and cloud of swirling debris

Unable to see the drake in the dark and obscuring debris the four outriders fire arrows blindly. Amazingly enough one hits the drake.

The two newly arrived outriders dismount and grab their short bows.

The drake roars as the continues to hover 15 feet above the ground it’s powerful wings continue to create a cloud of obscuring debris. It viciously bites Arctourus, but the powerful tail slap passes within inches of Arctouris head.

The bone tired Arctorus swings and misses the drake

Torod moves up and fires an arrow at the drake, with his aim wavering due to exhaustion, he still manages to hit the drake.

Asta moves up behind Arctorus and touches him with a healing hex.

Arabeth cast protective magic around Arctorus shield him.

The six outriders fire their arrows blindly, one of which arrows scores a critical strike on the drake.

In the middle of the debris field, the hovering drake strikes again at the large Arctorus, sinking his teeth into his flesh and tail slapping the dragon-shaped warrior. Due to the shielding spell, Arabeth feels part of Arctorus’ pain.
