@Dewn- Are we allowed to multi/prestige class; becauase if we've lost Shortcloak, I could multiclass in lieu of recruting a new player for the group, (if necessary) and if so I would probably go Arcane Trickster, though I would need to come up with a reason for both in character.

Hywel Mawr |

@Calas Craft staff requires caster level 11, and here I thought I was getting ahead of the plot for organizing gear and such. That said getting Dewn's thoughts on crafting custom items in general would be a good idea.
@Dewn Mou'tain; Any word on the relative? And will we be replacing Shortcloak? If you like I can post the opening in the recruitment thread.

DEWN MOU'TAIN |

Hywel, no word from my nephew, nothing firm yet. As for shortcloak, no replacement.
also: apologies for not posting anything these last few days. I have been playing catch up with my college classes, and today is the last day of the class, so tomorrow i will have something posted.

Chromie Blackwater |

Looks like I'm going to be taking over the rogue/scout duty then. Which is fine by me, actually. I've been playing this guy as an overly-cautious and self-centered thief type anyways. I can't disarm traps yet, and won't be able to do it as well as the rogue could, but it'll be better than nothing.
Also, just as a heads up, I might not be the most punctual in posting over the next few weeks. Short staffed at work right now, and I'm picking up a lot of overtime until we get a vacancy filled.

Hywel Mawr |

Could always dip a level into Rogue. The d6 sneak is nothing to sneeze at. Esp. with your illusions granting concealment ect.
But as a spell focused person it might not be worth it. I've considered it myself but the core Fighter simply does not have the skill points to support the dip. Mind you the Tactician archetype is another story and a rogue dip works VERY well there.
I am running a Rogue / Tactician Fighter in a Kingmaker game. Only first level now but when he switches to Tac fighter at 2nd he is looking at 8 {4+2(int)+1(human)+1(fast learner)} skill ranks/level. An effective near full bab skill monkey.

Chromie Blackwater |

I could definitely dip a level into Rogue if needed. It would be easily done based on my character concept already, though it would slow down my spell progression and hurt my will saves a little bit. And if I go into Arcane Archer later, then I'm taking even more of a hit to my spells.
I'm even more torn on what I want to do now. Before, it was just a matter of hoping to reach level 9 and dipping a few levels into Arcane Archer. Now I'm thinking a level or two of rogue would help the party more, and help me be more of a skill monkey, but then I'll be waiting even longer to get my level 2 spells. But if I have sneak attack, my invisibility becomes that much more useful when I get it...

Shaldar Xan |

good looks to do the right thing and we healed an enemy = good.
Enemy is now toying with us demanding things and taking advantage. Agreeing is not good just stupid. Leaving him is not evil just intelligent.
That is my view. Taking the good thing too far no adventurer could ever be good cause the kill which could be viewed as bad / evil. Kind of like the lawful good conundrum. Law states you must kill all babies in the town you just arrived in but it is bad to kill innocence so what is a palladin to do? Explode.

Hywel Mawr |

Chaotic Neutral here. I failed my intimidate, and got intimidated in return, but I intend to follow through with my threat. He's not helping us, he's evil, and he's indirectly threatening us. I'm going to kill him.
How do you know he is evil? As I doubt our prisoner is either a cleric, an anti-paladin, or fifth level the poor bastard does not produce a detectable aura. It is true that most orcs are evil however that does not hold true for every orc. This one has been rude and unhelpful but neither behavior is a strong evil indicator. At most they indicate a low cha chaotic alignment. Not a condition deserving death I hope. To be truthful killing a prisoner is an act far more indicative of evil when looked at in isolation.

Awakeninfinity |

Hywel; your math is slightly off in the gameplay saction, an 8 is a -1 penalty, not a -2. just thought you should know.
And I agree with Hywel; although Calas won't step in because he believes that the Orc is planning on doublecrossing them the moment he gets into a position of strength.

Chromie Blackwater |

Orcs in fantasy are almost always have reputations for cruelty and savagery towards anyone and anything. Pathfinder is no exception to that. As a character in the world, I have to assume that Chromie would know this reputation, and would act accordingly.
So far this orc has done nothing to earn my trust, he's been all but completely ingrateful towards us for saving his life, and the only question that I think he's answered truthfully is when we asked him what happened that left him bleeding on the floor. Everything past that has been half-truths at best, and veiled threats at worst.
Here's Chromie's thought process - If we take him with us and end up at the orc camp with him in shackles, we'll be killed because they're savage and ignore the fact that we technically saved him because he's in chains. He's not going to vouch for us, because he's an orc and all he wants is more slaves or to kill. If we take him to the goblins, they won't care because they're goblins and have the attention span of a 2 year old and are just as savage in a different way. All we are is something to break, and bringing them an orc means we brought them just one more toy. By dragging him along, we're straining our resources more than we would otherwise. We have to keep him fed and watered, and babysit him to make sure he doesn't try to kill us in our sleep. Manacles won't keep him from choking one of us out and taking us hostage. If we leave him alive in this room and the orcs find him, he can tell them we're here and we lose any chance at surprise or evasion. If we leave him dead, he's just another casualty of the goblins. Plus, I don't like him. He scares me even in shackles, so I don't even want to think about what he'll do when he's loose. Besides, I wanted to leave him for dead from the beginning.
Besides, if Dewn doesn't want me killing him now, he can just say that the intimidate is still in effect and I'll back off. But I will be attempting to kill the orc eventually, especially if things keep going the way that they are and the orc doesn't wise up.

Calas Dermain |

Calas- Orcs are unfortunately not very bright, even though this one speaks common, he apparently isn't capable of being any more clever than the rest of his kind (@ Dewn- is he a half-Orc by any chance) I think we should eliminate him now do to his extreme lack of cooperation.

Hywel Mawr |

Seesh what a blood thirsty group...
Hywel has no intention of letting a prisoner be murdered.
FLUELLEN
"Kill the poys and the luggage! 'tis expressly
against the law of arms: 'tis as arrant a piece of
knavery, mark you now, as can be offer't; in your
conscience, now, is it not?"

Calas Dermain |

How would everyone feel if I played Calas with Asperger's Syndrome It's a condition I know quite well... I have been diagnosed with it.

DEWN MOU'TAIN |

Hey guys, got some good/bad news.
I am having to cancel this campaign. I have been offered the opportunity to DM a dragonlance campaign, which is my second favorite campaign setting to DM in.
Thanks for gaming with me, and i wish you luck on all your rolls.

Chromie Blackwater |

Well then, that sucked. I was kinda hoping to build some inter-party conflict here. I wasn't looking for full blown pvp, but I think I was well on the way to getting on Hywel's bad side for being so amoral over the orc situation. And what better time to start the conflict than at the very beginning, when our characters haven't gotten to know each other and are still feeling each other out, seeing what their strengths and weaknesses are, and trying to figure out their mentality.
But, now it's over. Was fun while it lasted, I guess.

Hywel Mawr |

The conflict was fun. Excellent RP of a true CN gnome. Amoral and just that little bit random. Well done. I look forward to our next chance to game together.
This DM has a history of dropping campaigns. This is the third of Dewn/Rizzenmagus's campaigns that I have been in that have just suddenly died for no decently explained reason.
The only reason I joined this one was because Dewn asked me and assured me that he had a "special interest" in seeing this one last. I do not expect to be joining any more of of his campaigns.
Though I suppose in a way ending the campaign suddenly and with little reason does fit with the stated goals of introducing new players to the world of pbp. Campaigns do end suddenly, Gm's and players vanish, it is a fact of the media so in that at least well done Dewn.
Note the above message may contain snark. Please see your physician if bitterness lasts for more than four hours.

Pwent Axehand |

If I had known Dewn had a history of campaign dropping I likely would not have signed up, but the way he chose to word the fact that he was ending it was in an appropriate manner, and I also have a history of dropping campaigns on here, so I can't be too picky. It was ok while it lasted, but there was too much concerning the orc, and that part almost turned boring. I'm ok with a little PVP, but the depth of that was just a bit too much.
Calas: I would certainly try a campaign if you took the time to make one.

Calas Dermain |

There would some rules for it (I have a campaign in IRL that this'll be based in. I'll have it up when I get a chance.)
I can tell you it will be twenty point-buy at level 1
With some mild class and race restrictions - It will be more than core, I can tell you that.. Details will be set up in about a week.
