Perhaps --> this video and ---> this video will help with background, as well as ---> The Shadowlands Conversion Guide, which is a free download.

Also see the post I placed Tuesday on the Gameplay page, which is an excerpt from the Shadowlands Conversion Guide.

I have downloaded that and shall be reading it later.

Thorgrim Æsgard the Valgaardian barbarian is ready, how do I post it for review?

SPECIAL ABILITIES
=================================================
Birthmark You were born with a strange birthmark that looks very similar to the holy symbol of the god you chose to worship later in life.
Dance of the Blades (Ex) You can wield a metal weapon more quickly.
Darkvision (Ex) Range 60; Darkvision is the extraordinary ability to see with no light source at all, out to a range specified for the creature. Darkvision is black and white only (colors cannot be discerned). It does not allow characters to see anything that they could not see otherwise-invisible objects are still invisible, and illusions are still visible as what they seem to be. Likewise, darkvision subjects a creature to gaze attacks normally. The presence of light does not spoil darkvision.
Humanoid Traits (Ex) Humanoids breathe, eat, and sleep.
Intimidating (Ex) Half-orc receive a +2 racial bonus on Intimidate skill checks due to their fearsome nature.
Lame One of your legs is permanently wounded, reducing your base land speed by 10 feet. Your speed is never reduced due to encumbrance.
Metal Mysteries You draw upon the divine mystery of Metal to grant your spells and powers.
Orc Blood (Ex) Half-orc count as both humans and orcs for any effect related to race.
Orisons You can prepare a number of orisons, or 0-level spells. These spells are cast like any other spells, but they are not expended when used and may be used again.
Reactionary You were bullied often as a child, but never quite developed an offensive response. Instead, you became adept at anticipating sudden attacks and reacting to danger quickly.
Sacred Tattoo Tattoos, piercings, and ritual scarification are sacred markings to many half-orcs. Half-orcs with this racial trait gain a +1 luck bonus on all saving throws. This racial trait replaces the orc ferocity racial trait.
Weapon Familiarity (Ex) Half-orcs are proficient with greataxes and falchions, and treat any weapon with the word "orc" in its name as a martial weapon.
Unforgiven Alienated and hunted, the Dasun
have learned to harness Sæmyyr’s harshness and turn it
to their advantage. Whenever a Dasun with this power
is flanked, cornered, or reduced to less than 1⁄2 hit
points, they gain a +2 dodge bonus to AC and gain 1d8
temporary hit points. This bonus and the temporary
hit points last for 1 minute. Activating this power is a
swift action.

I think your character looks good. Create an alias for Nastrod and put the stats into that format.

Shadow Lodge

Thorgrim is in, making four players in the group. Still have room for some more...

Shadow Lodge

Nastrod is in, making the group total 5. Any more wanting to participate?

I would like to participate, though time and schedule are against me.

For this first run I may have to watch from the sidelines since I have no time available to create a character for you.

I do apologize to the DM and wish those who have joined up all the very best and hope they have a lot of fun.

Story Master:
Of course, if you don't mind a 'Suny' clone skipping about through your game world I admit xeroxing off another version of her is as easy as anything else and I can slip into her 'mind set' as second nature atm.

Of course...there should only be so much sugar and happiness about and too much may cause diabetes. :P

I shall be more than happy watch and learn.

Very much cheers to one and all.

I think that I'll have to withdraw my interest. I can't download the conversion guide to my work computer, and my home computer is giving the the fritz right now. Windows indexer decided to break itself, and now I can't see my D&D/Pathfinder Folders or documents or downloads... Stuck with prd for now until I can get my pdfs back up (or can download them onto a new computer).

I would love to jump into a campaign or a group. Who has a spot open?

Read the requirements for this group (on the previous page) and then decide if you want to participate in this one.

Stating my interest but I'm not familiar with the setting so I probably won't be able to draft a character until tomorrow or the day after, when I've read up on it a bit.

May I inquire about the current party balance/classes so I can try to squeeze myself into any roles not yet filled?

Shadow Lodge

One of the straigt-up Core classes would be beneficial: Fighter, Cleric, Druid, Ranger. Divine magic rules in Saemyyr, so I would lean toward the cleric if I was a PC. Besides, healing is vital!

Nästród is a male dasun, or half-orc, in a reddish cloak. He walks with a noticeable limp. Despite his pronounced canine teeth, he smiles often. He is disarmingly polite for a supposed savage.

Fener - Valgaardian Druid and his trusty wolf Sam.

I have read the Shadowlands guide and intrigued by the setting. I am putting forward a human cleric of Meter. Will finish character and check out your facebook page soon.

Short background will be that a blight caused his superstitious, rural community to doubt his abilities and cast him out. Plan to concentrate on the animal and plant domains.

25 points! Will be fun to spend.

Shadow Lodge

Fener is in, making a total of 6. We'll be starting soon. Last call for participants...

Whoops, hope I'm not too late. Here's a basic draft of my character: Flug Managarm. Human Possessed Oracle (Dark Tapestry, Haunted). Apologies if it's a bit messy, I haven't had much time to arrange it.

===

Background: A tall, gangly youth. His Valgaardian heritage manifests in his pale skin, bright shock of red hair, and green eyes, more often than not covered in grime or dirt. Born to the local shaman in a small village in the far north, he manifested no divine influence and was trained as a warrior. On his first winter hunt, however, he was lost in the wilderness and was found weeks later, haggard and starving, staring at the night sky and mumbling about a black star.

Because I like punny references, I'll be an Oracle of a concept named the 'Black Star', based off the numerous Black Sun mythologies. (e.g. eclipses, Mesoamerican. Sol Niger/Alchemical Nigredo)

An interesting character to do because of the many potential Compulsion-like abilities and their banned state in the world.

You are not too late, there are some other folks still working on characters. One of the nice things about the online way of playing, as we are not restricted to how many chairs fit around the dining room table. A large party works just as well here, and encounters are always scalable. I will send you a private message as well, I think your character concept is fine.

Shadow Lodge

Flug is in, making a total of 7. Recruitment will close very soon. If you are sitting on the fence or procrastinating, now is the time to act. :)

Shadow Lodge

Soon to be joined by a rogue. Keep a hand on your valuables...

I am almost ready to begin our new adventure!

Shadow Lodge

Imowen is in. Room for one more player, if interested.

Going once.....going twice.....

Happy to watch for now. :)

Liberty's Edge

Hi, is there still room for one more? Kestrel Alder, half-elven ranger, would be happy to join. I can send details, back story etc. if so. She's a bit of an outsider in civilization, but has a good heart and a wry sense of humour.

There is perhaps room for one more. We are using the Shadowlands conversion, so I suggest you read all of the Recruitment posts and the conversion guide (free download link in the Recruitment posts) before making up your mind. You must also be on Facebook...

Liberty's Edge

I will read through it thoroughly tonite, but it sounds fun. I have a Facebook under Kestrel Alder, so that's all good. :) I've been reading through all the posts and can't wait! *Hmm, don't know why my avie isn't showing up....*

REPORTING FOR DUTY!

Celif's understudy, reporting for duty!

I've enjoyed reading through a few pages of this game > you have a great group of players.

Shadow Lodge

I am truly blessed to have the great role players who are participating in this story. Thanks!

Anymore room? I don't have a lot of experience with Shadowlands, but I'm reading up on it right now. What is the party looking like right now?

The party is large, but we might possibly be able to fit one more in. You must be able to comply with the Facebook group request outlined above, and be willing to wait a bit, for the right opportunity for an additional character to arrive on the scene. If interested, there is no pure wizard in the party, nor a pure fighter, so either of those would fit nicely.

Story master, I'm kind of confused on that part.. Care to elaborate?
