No, it's not your imagination it's been loading much faster for me as well (when it loads, I'm still encountering problems with that on occasion). Don't know what that hideous thing was you linked before from Hero Lab but I'm glad you got it figured out.

As far as the game goes ... at least a little progress was made this weekend ... but I'm really wishing someone would just go ahead and make some sort of commitment to moving somewhere else ... I guess that's part of the problem of being the DM and knowing the answers of whether something is safe or not. Course ... the hint about overthinking things shoulda been something of a clue? Or maybe you all thought I was trying to entice you into a death trap!? Just remember, I'm the type of DM that actually prefers to keep his characters alive! :D Tamlara has experienced me DM'g on a tabletop, I wonder if she agrees with that assessment?

Wow!!! I am really digging the Inquisitor class. Did you know they get Cunning Initiative (they get to add their WIS bonus to initiative, which means Aldhranhald now has a +8 Init!!), Detect Alignment, and Track (just like the Ranger or Slayer ability) all as special abilities at level 2????!!!!! Not to mention I got one more spell of both 0 and 1st level. I took Acid Splash and Comprehend Languages because, duh! I took the extra skill point for the favored class bonus. Took a rank in Craft: Cartography, which means we'll really be able to bring back some great maps to Lord Royst. :) I also took another rank in Linguistics, and took Varisian as the language, since we were playing that Tangar was teaching Aldhranhald his language. I figure being a linguist he would have probably picked it up pretty quickly. :) Add into that a +1 BAB now, and Aldhranhald just got a lot better at his job.
Oh! I also finally swapped out cure light for inflict light wounds on my PDF character sheet. So that shows up correctly now. Let me know if you have any questions Stormstrider. I updated the quick bar with everything but "Detect Alignment" under the @ will section, because it wouldn't fit! :D How's that for awesome? Aldy's got so many @ will abilities I can't even fit them all.
Wow, that sounds like a great level for you! I get +1 BAB too, along with evasion and a rogue talent. For my FCB, Stormy, I will be taking the racial fcb of +1/2 to Perception and Stealth. That makes my perception +11, and my stealth +9, at least until I get armor with no check penalty. I just need to figure out which language I want to take.
YOWZER'S Aldhranhald! That's quite a gain on one level! AND you forgot to mention your Fort and Will saves also both go up by one! That is a VERY impressive level gain! Congratulations!
This made me look further at your class ... don't worry, I'm not going to change it or say you can't, BUT, you get at least one - sometimes two! - 'Special abilities' EVERY LEVEL from here on out! Besides all the normal stuff! YIKES! I clearly didn't look at this class closely enough when I allowed it! At a glance it almost seems overpowered getting special abilities at every level. Just for my own curiosity I'm going to look at this class some more ...
Right!? I did forget to mention the save increases too. Yes, I agree, Inquisitor is definitely a class that gains a significant amount of increased "power" at every level. The way I have Aldy built, though, I don't think he'll be overpowering anything. He's much more of a support character, puzzle solver, and a trap finder/disarmer. Though, that ability to track could really come in handy. :D
@Tamlara, evasion is an awesome ability. No damage instead of half from some of the more aggressive AoE spells can often turn the tide of battle. :)
I am not a full bottle on Inquisitors but I understand they are very good.
There is an inquisitor in the group in another online campaign and they have a diplomacy that dwarfs my master summoner's. Which does not sound special but my character has a charisma of 26.
They are a half caster. And at very high levels the full casters tend to rule.

Not sure what's going on with Tangar either. Facebook says he saw the message I sent him, but he has not replied. I should be seeing him tonight (Wednesday) at the tabletop or at the very least find out something from other mutual RL friends at the tabletop.
Well, RL Tangar has apparently gone and got himself a girlfriend, besides having a rough time at work. Today he had to work 11 hrs for example. So let's try having some patience please. I can't blame him for getting a girl. If I got a gal, not sure how much I'd be here to be honest.

Play by post requires patience. It is a prerequisite of gaming in this medium. So, of course we can wait for Tangar to find the time to post. If he's willing to be botted, that's fine. If he'd rather play it himself, we'll be here. :) Besides, he needs to level up still, and I'm certain he'd want to take care of that himself. :D
I communicated a little w/RL Tangar. I'm going to go ahead and bot him until the next encounter or RL Tangar posts again, whichever comes first. Once we reach the next encounter we will stop for Tangar to level up.
BTW, Any of you ever watch "Everly" 2015 w/Salma Hayek? Prostitute that fights back basically. I just found it on Netflix last night and while a bit bloody and gory (especially the torture scene with the "make-up artist") and WAY too many cusswords, I enjoyed the movie quite a bit! A few concepts that were new to me at least, such as the afore mentioned 'make-up-artist' - mainly his 4 'assistants'? Actually dressed in full ... oriental (Japanese I believe?) gear including the wooden sandals! And the majority of the movie all taking place within the confines of a 1 bedroom loft/apartment! A LOT of deaths and all surrounding Salma Hayek! And while she is an absolutely gorgeous woman, this movie was NOT about that! A brief nude scene of her (or a body double - couldn't say) at the beginning, but you can't really see anything. Fully recommend it, but NOT for little ones or sensitive people!

I have not seen the movie. I have seen a movie from the 1970's called "The Day of the Woman" or alternatively "I Spit on Your Grave". A woman gets pack raped and kills off the perpetrators. It was banned for violence until recently.
It seems good in principal, a rape victim cutting off one rapist's penis with a knife and listening to classical music as her bleeds out, destroying another rapist's penis with the outboard motor of a boat et al.
But it is very far from realistic. Vigilantism will get you in serious legal trouble and is not normally a good idea.
Well of course it's NOT realistic! A woman with no previos gun training walks into a room with about 5-6 mafiosos who all start shooting back, she manages to kill them all without having to re-load and only one of their bullets grazes her? The rest miss completely? And this is within the first 5 minutes of the movie. PLEASE.
As with about 99.9% of movies you have to suspend your belief in reality to enjoy the movie.
The movie you describe sounds a little LOT more 'gory' and vicious then "Everly".

Currently we have NO on-going encounter, but both of you will need to at least let me know your new info please before we can proceed with the next encounter. When the time for that encounter comes, if it is still necessary, I will make a post that makes it very clear that we are stopping until I get that info, so in the meantime feel free to proceed with the adventure/exploring the Spire!

I just realised I have been ripping myself off in a major way with spells.
My familiar has 3 +int mod level 1 spells and all cantrips. I used 2 and 3, the number I can memorise.
And I get 2 more lvl 1 spells at lvl 2 plus my patron spell ventriloquism.

Yes!! And if they get to 600K they'll be adding the Magus class to the list of playable character classes!!! ;) I'd love to get that class added. If they get to 700 K they'll be adding support for Mac and Linux OS. :) I'm really excited about this game. It looks to be as close to playing Pathfinder in a computer game as is possible, and has been created very much in the vein of the Icewind Dale, Baldur's Gate, and Pillars of Eternity games.
My friends, is everything ok? What seems to be the hold-up? Nobody's posted game-wise in two days ... Considering we originally agreed to each post at least once per day ... I'm willing to compromise to one post per day from anyone in the party - whoever happens to do it, but nothing? Would you all prefer to just cancel this game? I'd prefer not to cancel. I think there's potential for a LOT of fun here for everybody! But, if I'm going to make the commitment to prep all this and run it, then I think it's only fair for me to expect at least a little commitment from the players right?
I mean, ok, I understand Tangar's delay, between his horrible work schedule and a new GF! I mean just last Wednesday he said he worked 11 hrs that day alone! And he has cancelled out of 2 other tabletops, but not this. So I am trying to work with him.
BUT, no other player has made any contact with me to let me know there is some special reason for a delay. PLEASE, if you have something going on causing you a delay here, at least PM me? Please remember this is my first time running a PBP and only my second time to DM, so there is a part of me that is very anxious to do well, AND I want my friends to have fun! So when I check in two days in a row and there is no game activity ... it is VERY frustrating to me. Sorry. AGAIN, if I'm being too impatient please tell me so. I have had some RL stuff going on, but I have also been checking in to see if anything was going on. I am currently waiting to see if anyone wants to come up with a different/ better idea than the one Tamlara recently posited. I, too am anxious for things to happen, but kind of glad they aren't going so fast, also. If things were going faster, I'd be spending way too much time on here! :)

I'd be more than happy to make a post a day but I didn't want to be the only one posting. I think part of the problem might stem from the fact that there are really only three of us (PCs) actively playing. It is getting a little tough right now with Tangar being mostly unavailable, and that means I'm running the bad guys, playing Alex, botting Tangar, and telling the 'story'! Whew! At least the 'story' is basically written out for me! I just have to ... 'interpret'? it for you? My issue is now having to remember that I have to enter posts for each of those. We've already seen times when it was Alex's turn and I totally didn't realize it and I'm sitting here waiting for you all to post! The innate slowness of PbP and the need for patience has come up before relating to this game.
Maybe you are attempting to develop patience in one step Tangar. When you should be content with steady progress towards the goal.
I am innately more patient than most people I am pretty sure. But PbP is sometimes frustratingly slow to me.
On Firefly, yes it is cool.
The Captain is even doing a proper stamping kick, the kick designed to move someone back. And in the right place, the solar plexus.
I did love Firefly, and would love to see more. I wish they had continued with it.

You, me and about a zillion other fans out there. I am a member of 3 ... or 4? ... different Firefly/Serenity fan groups on Facebook (and there are at least 3 others such groups I know of) and the fandom is literally worldwide.
On one of these groups a guy is in the process of starting up a PBP based off the show and I got in on that! :) It is different in that it will be done in a facebook group so I don't think there's going to be actual dice rolls, and he's not doing it from an established rule book either. It sounds like it's gonna be more of a you make a post describing what you want to do, and he makes a post describing the results and the consequences ... I'm not sure how well this is going to work out, but oh well, it ought to be entertaining and occupy some of my free time at least.
Right now it looks like I'm going to be the group's pilot! He has shown us a picture of the ship we are going to start with and regrettably I won't be able to do any 'Crazy Ivan's with it, but he says it is very easy to maneuver.

Yeah, I'm not sure how I feel about no actual rules system either. I would prefer some sort of 'game system' and I know there is at least one for a Firefly game, I've seen it out there somewhere in the 'verse, just don't remember where and don't wanna spoil it for this guy. He is putting a lot of work in getting info setup for us. Has a map of the "known 'verse" with generous descriptions of most of the planets and very detailed tech about two ships so far!
Someone in one of my Firefly groups posted this asking if it reminded us of anything and while it does bare a rather vary vague resemblance to River's axe in the final battle, I couldn't help but think, I hope I'm on this trucker's good side! :O

Ok, just going to vent a little here. Feel free to skip over.
"Freight Train through my room"! - Landlord's family argument!
I was asleep in the same room and slept right through the whole event! When I awoke the next morning I looked around and asked my brother what was going on since I was completely unaware of the whole thing! :O
Since then I have always said that I'm such a heavy sleeper that a freight train could come right through my room and I would never notice! While I knew that was exaggerated, I have always honestly thought it to be not far from the truth.
Well ... tonight that theory was proven false. No, a freight train did NOT come through my room! Hahaha! What did happen, is that I was awakened at 4am to my landlord's wife extreme bouts of laughter! I'm talking full, top of your lungs, mouth wide open, deep from your belly, laughter! And it wasn't just the once! She would stop, talk a little with ... someone? Landlord? Phone? I don't know - then laugh some more! This kept going on for about 30 minutes! I've heard her do this before. She doesn't seem to know how to laugh ... mildly? She seems to get in these moods where she laughs like this. If she were out in public laughing like this it would be considered 'making a scene'! Now, I have no problem with a good full laugh, but at 4 O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING?!?!?! Now I'm wide awake! At least I don't have to go in to work until 2 pm, so I think I'll be able to get some more rest before that. At least all is quiet now.
BUT! There was also an incident on Tuesday, July 4th. Her daughter and daughter's husband with their child were here for the whole weekend. They were all out in the 'den'/enclosed patio doing whatever (The main TV/only one with cable is out there), when suddenly the daughter & her husband come through the house screaming and cussing at each other! That went on for a little bit then finally seemed to settle down. Then it started again and this time the other renter was involved trying to step in and stop the husband apparently, while my landlord's wife was also screaming! The whole time I just stay in my bedroom 'minding my own business' playing Elder Scrolls. Then that screaming session finally stopped, but it was made clear that alcoholic drinks were involved and part of the issue was someone wanting to leave the house while driving under the influence. (Obviously I agree with NO DRUNK DRIVING!) But then a little while later here they all come screaming and cussing again! All in the house except the landlord, and this time the husband of the daughter saying that they are leaving the house right this minute! (They live in Tennessee, we are in Illinois) This is about 10pm? The husband is screaming something about he never should have accepted that free washer and dryer that (my landlord - his step-father-in-law?) bought them cause he knew he (my landlord) was going to hold it over them! He is also saying that the landlord's wife is welcome to come visit them, but that (the landlord) will never be welcomed at their house! They did packup and leave that very night. The entire time of all this arguing their little girl (about 3-4 yrs old?) is of course crying and saying she's sorry and why do they have to leave Grandma's house and why isn't Grandma going to come visit them and so forth ... Now, ok, things happen, families get into arguments, sure. I understand that. BUT, all this has been happening in front of their little daughter?!?!? And she is obviously thinking that somehow it is her fault? Take your argument somewhere away from the little child people! It was bad enough after the first argument when I could hear the wife in the restroom (which is righ next to my bedroom) sobbing away. The gentleman in me wanted to step out then and 'talk' to the husband about the proper way to treat a lady, but I resisted that. Then when I realized this about the little daughter being involved and reacting this way ... it was every ounce of effort to control myself and not go try to 'educate' the father! Now if there had been anything such as a slap or any physical abuse I DEFINITELY would have stepped in at that point! But there wasn't that at least! Still ... And then after the Daughter and her family left, the landlord's wife and the other renter decide to sit down in the dining room and talk about all this. Even though I'm playing my game with the volume on and have my door shut, I could still clearly hear them. It became obvious that they were both drunk as well. Among other things they start talking about how they feel like killing someone now and they say they mean to do it literally. Then my landlord's wife starts talking about how if her husband dies she gets a million dollars from his life insurance! For one I seriously doubt that he has a million dollar life insurance! And I don't think either of them were talking about it seriously, but she was saying that then the house becomes hers and he (the renter) can live here with her! She then continues saying things like how he (the renter) is her best buddy and such. When she is sober she tells me how much she 'dis-likes' him and how she and I are best buddies!?!?!? She thinks that we 'bonded' during ny surgery recovery. WE HARDLY EVEN SPOKE TO EACH OTHER WHILE LIVING IN THE SAME HOUSE WITH LITERALLY JUST ONE WALL SEPARATING US!!! How did we bond?!?! And if I'm, her best buddy, she needs more friends! We talk very little to nothing at all! She is one CRAZY woman!

I think you almost certainly did the right thing in not getting involved in the apocalyptic family argument. The husband isn't going to suddenly mend his ways because someone spoke to him. But you could easily start a fight or make things worse for his wife and daughter. But it sounds really hard to listen to.
Nothing remotely that dramatic has happened at my place recently.

I am contacting Tangar through RL to ask him his opinion whether or not he wants to continue hanging on here or just go ahead and drop maybe. I would of course rather he didn't drop out!
In the mean-time, I am working on trying to re-adapt my 'mentality setting' for this game. I'm trying to set my mental mode to: I just post whenever a response should happen to be needed - as far as the game goes. Trying to learn to only check in once a day (twice at the most!) on weekdays and definitely only once a day, maybe only once during the weekend.
DEFINITELY not counting on this to be even a secondary means of entertainment, maybe a third or fourth means at best lately.
And while very happy/satisfied with the group as players in general, I am in the posting lately. I went to a LOT of work setting this up. Just look at all the info I edited into the campaign description tab! Not to mention all the map editing and spell templates!
I'm sorry. I don't mean to be mean or rude. And I understand the lack of Tangar's actual presence has possibly put everybody into a 'slow-posting' mode. But I feel like you all don't have any interest any more. We can move on without him or with me botting him if needed. Or maybe Tamlara can get her RL hubby to replace our front-liner if Tangar decides to drop out? Though in all-honesty as I recall he has never cared much for playing a front-liner type of character. Or if Tangar drops should I try pausing the game while I look for a replacement? Please let me know what you all think?
