Battle Grid ***** Treasure Chart ***** Emerald Spire Skills

So Tamlara, whenever you have rolled a stealth check on the previous round, feel free to go ahead and include your sneak attack damage and, when appropriate, - such as is the case now since you don't know which, if any, of the goblins passed their perception - and I'll try to figure it out from there how to let you know- or not - if it worked or not. Obviously, when I post the current HP status of a creature you'll be able to figure it out, but will Tamlara know?

Crap s!%+! Now it won't let me display the battle grid at work! Between not being able to access all character sheets, and now battle grid, this may get limited to me doing the main posting in the evening/night hours, or sometimes first thing in my morning.

Just to be clear, you understand that save was only needed for this particular cot right? There is something here that makes this one stink much worse than the rest. Tamlara can't help but wonder why that is? ... But now's not the time for that! We're in battle! ;)

Yes, I understand that. She'll be back to investigate, probably. She won't be looking forward to that smell again, though.

Ok, I've been trying to use both, the tactical console in Hero-Lab and Combat Manager to try to see which I like best. I like Hero-Lab because I can also keep track of XP and add notes in the journal section for each PC. As best I can tell I have no way to do this in CM. Mended?
But Combat Manager, on the other hand, has a nifty little treasure generator, which as far as I can tell, Hero-lab does not have. Anybody know of one? As far as I know none of you use the tactical console in Hero-Lab though ... Of course since technically all the treasure is listed in the module I don't really need one, but I'm going to try to modify the treasure from the module to make it more fitting to things the party can use.
So anyways, the point of this is that In Hero-Lab, it just numbers the different goblins, so late last night and then today, I numbered the goblins on the battle grid. It's a bit difficult to read the numbers even if you're zoomed way in, though. But I just realized that in CM it is very easy to 'modify' the creature's name! I even listed Boudacia's bat familiar as Wayne, the bat! CM insists on putting her familiar in the initiative order for some reason. But so with being able to modify the names so easily, I think CM just won in the decision of which I'll be using. I may continue keeping the HL one to keep track of XP since I can add a note to explain any bonus XP though.

I don't think there is a treasure generator on Herolab. Herolab basically does characters.

Boudacia wrote:

Yes, it is mainly for character building, but if you click on the gamemaster section you will see it also has an encounter library, an encounter builder, and a tactical console which are all designed for DM'g a game. I have not found any treasure generator in any of those sections.

But again it's not that important. At the early levels at least, I plan to generate the treasure myself so it can be more party specific and useful, not necessarily just another thing to lug back to town to sell, you know what I mean? Though there will be that as well! Don't worry! If you all can survive you should come out of this fairly wealthy! Trust me, I'm your benevolent DM! ;D heh, heh, heh ...

I didn't know that about Herolab. I have only used it to make characters.

Of course we trust you, Stormstrider.

Stormstrider, in Combat Manager you can right-click on Wayne and then hover over the "Initiative" button, then click "Link Initiative" and choose Boudacia. This will make Wayne connected to her initiative which is how Pathfinder designates it. This is a very helpful feature of CM, because it can also allow you to link groups of similar enemies together in one initiative. For example if there is a group of skeletons and rather than have them all acting separately, which, can end up really bogging down things at times, you can link them all to one initiative, and have them all act simultaneously. The one problem with that is that at low levels it can be very lethal to have a whole group of baddies acting in consort. :D So I usually wait to group bad guys until the PCs are higher level, and grouping a mob of mooks actually speeds things up, and doesn't add a tremendous amount of danger.

However, if you prefer to use HL and want a good treasure generator, I've found that RPG Bot's Pathfinder Treasure Generator is highly customizable, and works well following the RAW. :)

Wow! Thank you Mended! That info about being able to link the initiatives is VERY helpful! Yeah, just for this encounter, having to go in and modify each initiative for the 6 goblins so that they all went on the same one was a pain!

I'll definitely be checking out that treasure generator link at some point in the very near future!

Hmmm ... now class? What happens to helpful players? Bonus 50 XP for Aldhranhald! :)

??? What's going on? I realize the weekend is a slow posting time for some of you but ... this weekend seems to have been exceptionally slow as far as this game goes. This encounter has already taken much longer in both RL and game time than I thought it would. I guess the darkness is partially responsible for that. Also I haven't been in contact with Tangar in RL since ... Wednesday? So, not sure what's going on there.

Very little is going on.

I think it likely this-

ok... so... as with the way my luck goes.. I was informed friday, before I left for Gary Con in Lake Geneva Wisconsin.. I am suddenly employed.. yay.. this also comes with the idea that many days I will be very silent here.. and due to this it may not be feasible that I continue as it would only slow y'all down.. so, that said... I will see how things go for now, and if needed to move the story along just ignore or auto move Tangar.. see how that works for now, but if it starts being an issue.. I'll make a decision there.. this also sucks as it cuts into my usual table top games during the week.. and that's gonna be an issue as well.. sigh.. where's that lottery win when I need it...

is the cause of the delay. And Tangar not being in contact.

If you want to get things moving, you could "bot" Tangar. The obvious thing to do it murder the goblin to death, the one I just put to sleep that is.

I have been checking the thread, it is just my turn hasn't come around.

Yeah, I figured at least you (Boudacia) were checking. I expect Tangar will be posting by tonight some time. When I go home I'll check in with him via Facebook. I'm surprised Aldhranhald didn't post anything in game-play, after-all he did post in the Discussion thread, right when it was his turn in the Initiative. Of course since this encounter has had to be extremely boring and frustrating to him, I don't blame him either. As per his statement, I believe he will just keep watch for any hostiles he can see in his limited filed of vision. So anybody else please feel free to post your actions as your turn comes up.

EDIT: Well, of course Aldhranhald posted his action in Game-play while I tried to type this up. Figures! :)

Yeah! Or just plain understand tactics? They are a LOT easier to hit when they are just lying on the ground and not moving at all!

Yep! 1:28 am and I am very much awake!

Life update here, nothing about the game, so feel free to ignore or skip.

I got my new glasses Monday! So far I'm loving them! I'm a bit upset with the weather though because I went ahead and got the transitioning lenses that go dark outside, but it has been cloudy and rainy all week and the forecast says we won't see the sun until Sunday! So I haven't gotten to see if I like the transitioning part so far or not.

Then, more good news! Due to the occasional pain I still suffer 2-3 times per week in my stomach from the surgery, my supervisor had suggested I apply for FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) so that at least when I have to call out or come in late or leave early, it doesn't count against me. Let me explain, my job uses a point system, where when you call out and such they give you a point, or half point or quarter point, depending on how much time out. We are only allowed up to 7 points. This is the main reason for which people get fired at my company. When I went back to work after the surgery I had 1 point. In only 1 month's time, I went up to 5.75! Cause between my stomach pain and my broken glasses ... also before my surgery my 'call/work quality' had never been below 93%. Last I heard it was at an 89%. It's hard to be really nice and friendly when you feel like blowing your brains out due to the pain! Who knew right? Haha. So anyways, after a bit of paperwork for me, and paperwork for my doctor's office, today I finally got approved! Now due to the way the doctor's office worded it, they cut back my hours, to only 28 hrs per week, but as long as I watch myself that should still be enough to cover my bills, just won't have any extras for now. They also gave me 480 hrs of FMLA to use when I gotta call out sick or leave early or whatever, so that if I use that then I don't get points against me. Course I don't get paid either, but! At least this way I get to keep my job and have enough to live! So, I'm happy with it! EDIT: And all this is temporary anyways, for up to one full year max.

Ok, if you read it all, again, thanks for caring! (Or just being nosy about other people's lives! Hahahaha!)

I read your post and am glad you have had some good news. And although your FMLA period only lasts for a year, that should be easily long enough.

I am not a doctor, but if pain from an operation persists for over a year I would think you have a very serious medical problem. Nearly all cases would resolve well before then I would think.

Is the pain getting any better?

Yes, the pain is getting better. Most days I have little to no pain, but it seems to flare up 2-3 times a week for a few hrs to most of the day.

That is very much a good thing.

Pain after an operation is, well, a pain, but to be expected. Well, I have had some injuries that have left me in pain for weeks, and that is very bad. Much worse than pain for a while, so I know what it is like.

But if it is improving it means you are getting better. If it was not it would be most troubling.

By the way, if any of you have not been reading the translations of what Gribb, the goblin has been saying, feel free to do so. There's really no secrets and as Tamlara can testify, I came up with some pretty funny stuff! :D And I'm ok with saying that it is pretty funny because Tamlara 'fussed' at me for making her laugh so hard or much!

Battle Grid ***** Treasure Chart ***** Emerald Spire Skills

Boudacia, good thing I said ONE post each! You have made THREE in game posts since then! Please stop.

Currently, we have (basically) Tamlara saying let's leave and then walking out, Boudacia with her 3 posts and no declaration of what she or the party should actually do, Tangar saying he will agree to whatever the party wants, and no response from Aldhranhald.

This puts the DM in a bit of a dilemma. What to do? Obviously, I'm waiting for Aldhranhald. But ...

Battle Grid ***** Treasure Chart ***** Emerald Spire Skills

Correction: My mistake. Boudacia did post that she agreed with Tamlara about leaving. So I have 2 saying leave, and Tangar and Alex going with the majority.

Still waiting for Aldhranhald at this point. Plenty of time still, before I decide to Bot him.

I agree with Boudacia, if you can't access Maori at all times, we should just cut it out all together. Even though I really like it! Anyway, I have forgotten where this post was going as it took me nearly 10 minutes to write that little bit. Call it kitty-in-lap syndrome, where 'in lap' means on stomach/chest area so you can't see above the kitty ears, and kitty fur splayed across the keyboard. Also know that there is a 14 lb kitty ass sitting on one arm (or the other, he can't make up his mind). And if you can imagine the occasional kitty paw, or head, nudging my hands for scratchin's. . . well, I think you get the idea. I can't seem to sit down without a cat or dog, or two, wanting to sit on me. . . :)

Edit: It actually let's you say ass on here? Wow, I did not expect that!

True! Working out is a pain when someone makes you laugh out loud soon after, especially when it was an abdominal workout! When he says 'fussed', he means 'cussed', hahaha!

By the way, I've been meaning to say this for a few days now. For anybody that wants to, take a look at Tamlara's character sheet. I realize hers is myth-weavers, while everyone else is Hero-lab, but I would like you all to see how much work she has put into this!
First of all under the 'Feats & Special abilities' section, she very clearly identified all her traits, even being nice enough to indent them under the titles.
Then under her 'Other Possessions' she very clearly identified her items and even lists them according to where they are located!
Then under 'Languages' she has given a sample, of the writing for each translator language she has chosen - though here the sample in most cases made it go too long and we cannot see which language she has chosen, but we will see it later!
Next, under her 'Spells & Powers' section, since she doesn't have any, she has wisely used this space to type out her dice roll templates for her most common skills.
And last, but not least, under her 'Other Notes' section she has listed a whole LOT of sample languages from the translator to use! And here is where we can also see which ones she has chosen for her languages.

The DM is very pleased with this! 100 XP Bonus rewarded to Tamlara! :D

Comments after watching Age of Adelaine. Feel free to ignore:

Damn F+~@ing S*#!! I love romantic movies/I hate romantic movies! I love them because they show what I would like to have, and I guess they give a kind of hope for that, but I hate them because they make it very obvious that I don't have that in my life! So they leave me feeling miserable by the end.
As far as the movie itself ... it was enjoyable. You of course have to suspend your belief in reality. The concept that Blake Lively's character does not age is not realistic. Though they give a supposed scientific explanation for it, but the movie itself states this scientific fact is not discovered until 2035, when the movie is set in a current time frame, so ... how do they 'know' that this fact is discovered in 2035?
It was interesting, but not really good. Now if you happen to think that Blake Lively is a beautiful woman to look at, you probably will enjoy it on that factor alone. Admittedly, that is what caused me to buy the movie. And she is in almost every scene! So if that is your interest in the movie, you'll like it.
So, anyways, now I 'm feeling all alone and miserable again, and being that in RL I don't have even a glimmer of hope of having a girlfriend currently ... S~+%. Oh well.
I guess the good news is that along with this movie, I discovered I can watch Blu-ray movies on my PS4! So there is that! Yay! :)
I like venting apperently. Makes me feel better after I express my feelings. Thank-you for bearing with me.

When you access the sheet (or at least, when I do) it lets you 'scroll' through antything that is too long to visibly fit on the line. With most things, I cut it off and started a new line, but not with the languages. They weren't that much too long. And thanks for the xp Stormy, though that's not why I did all that. I'm just sort of. . . anal-retentive? obsessive? CDO(OCD)? about some things.
