Welcome to my run of Thralls of the Shattered God for PaizoCon 2023. Your sign in sheet is >HERE<. Please fill it out so I can determine subtier and get your chronicles to you. A small note about timing before we begin:
One thing that differs about PaizoCon: we have a hard cutoff date of July 22. If the game is not finished by then, we stop and everyone gets rewards for whatever portion of the scenario is completed. Because of this, I will be fairly aggressive with my botting. Please make sure your profile has all your stats and instructions for botting your character - >HERE< is an example. I will also be using the rule of two for decision-making: once two people have agreed to the course of action, that is what we will do.
I also reserve the right to change initiative so the sides act in blocks. If I do, I will make every effort to change in the party's favor.
Feel free to post conditional actions when necessary to minimize the time we spend waiting for each other to act.
With all that said, I try to run a fairly laid-back game. Don't be a jerk and we'll all do fine. If we make mistakes, we'll fix them and move on (and since I am doing the majority of the posting/rolling, I will probably make the majority of mistakes).
Feel free to drop into the Gameplay tab and introduce your characters. Looking forward to playing with you all on May 29!
I can take up to six players, presuming you have a player's badge for PaizoCon. We only have three signups, so the players have the option to play as is on hard mode (but for no additional reward) or bring in a level 7 pregen to fill the ranks if no one else signs up.

I have been informed that the door prizes need to be reported before the game ends (June 20), so please make an unmodified d20 roll here. If you get a 19 or 20, you win a $15 paizo.com voucher. If you roll a 1 or 2, you get a boon, which I will roll randomly to determine which.
I'm planning to use pregen character, so I guess I'll just go with Merisiel then. It's my first time doing PbP and I spent quite some time but still don't know how to do this.

Just to be clear, this is a 1st edition Pathfinder game. We've had so many new people, both to PBP and to Pathfinder, that confusion between the two editions is pretty common.
The header for the lodge (linked) is a great starting resource for all things PBP, especially posting conventions and formatting.

I think you'd fill out the sheet with maybe Merisiel Pregen but use whatever character number you'd like the chronicle credit to go to.

Hey folks, I'm heading out of town to a convention today and won't be home until Monday afternoon at some point. I'll be taking my Chromebook with me as I expect I'll have some downtime between sessions to check in on the forums. All that said, please feel free to bot Corona if need be! She's got a chicken familiar (Stuffing) but she's a non-combat critter.
It's a lot, but we'll make sure you understand what you need to.
For the sign-in sheet, there should be spaces for both the level of the character receiving the chronicle and for the pregen you are playing. As usual, you can apply it to a 1st level character and get 500 gp instead of the usual cash, or if the character is not 7th level yet, have the usual rewards but wait to apply it until they reach 7th level.
Then I'll wait my character to reach Lv7. So the character name and class, which should go into them? The character I'm applying to or Merisiel?
I would use the character receiving them, because that is what will be printed on the chronicle.

I will be traveling and unable to post until Saturday. I think we are in good shape on time based on how much we have completed (and the ability to skip an optional encounter) but will likely be pushing this pretty fast once we get back. Make sure your botting instructions are up to date please.

Please check that your information on the sign-in sheet is accurate, and if you want your day job or other information recorded on your chronicle, post/roll it now.
Also, a question you will need to answer at the end of the scenario, so you can think about it now: Valais will believe hunting down another demon can free her, while your barely-conscious friend may be able to get access to a library in Heaven that can eventually help, and you will be asked for advice about what Valais should do (assuming they both survive).
The man you rescued, who now has time to introduce himself as Kitarlo, responds, “Your story intrigues me. I can ease your mind, but I cannot help you this moment. There is one possibility I know of, but it requires access to a very special library. In Heaven, there is a place called the Great Library of Harmonious Scripture, which, among other things, contains a record of every sacred ceremony that has ever been performed. A contact of mine owes me a favor; perhaps with his help we can get you the information you need to restore yourself, body and soul. Of course, your way also seems to work, though it requires much more violence.” He eyes the corpse of Laktharis. “What will you try first: hunt down and slay the other demon whose body is incorporated into yours or seek the help of archons, whose procedures can take many years to navigate?”
Valais’s eyes flit between the celestial being and the demonic corpse, and then land on her fellow Pathfinders. “You’ve helped me face what has happened to me as no one has before. I trust your wisdom. What do you think I should do?”

Zarnel quickly channels some healing power into his scant wounds, more to recover from the effects of the Beast than the vicious energy Vildeis imposed upon him. He does the same to Valais as Kitaro explains what he knows.
"Valais, you are not a paladin of my order, so my edicts do not govern you. But were it me, I would chase this other demon down to the ends of Golarion. My Oath to Vildeis requires it," he states solemnly. He covers his eyes with one hand for a moment, then touches his scarred breastplate. "One part of my Oath to Her says, 'Evil does not rest, so good cannot either. I will not be complacent, but rather seek out evil to oppose.' See no evil; abide no evil," he finishes quietly.
"But you must follow your own heart in this matter."
Wall of text. The fight is over, but there are still decisions to be made and checks to be rolled. Also, if you want your day job or other information to appear on your chronicle, now is the time to post/roll them.
