Tobias: If you want to take a lesser bonus to represent improvised winter gear, then you may, but as I see it, he would have already done something with the furs by now to provide better, if not as much, as normal winter clothes... maybe a +3 or +4 at least.
Lies: I will allow you to take 10 if you wish. It just has to be within the guidelines for the ability for it to be successful (though you didn't mention it, I just want to say that taking 20 is out of the question).

The "Crow" is a Witchcrow that joined the group a little while ago in return for the found lady's signet ring. She has already come forward with her kind's... Evil alignment, but espouses that she is at least neutral. She has had multiple chances to screw the party over and has been marginally helpful, and at one time essential, to the party.

This Week's Work Schedule:
Mon Noon-9p
Tues Noon-9p
Wed Noon-9p
Thurs off
Fri off
Sat 11a-8p
Sun Noon-10p
Off the top of my head... If I got it wrong I'll let you know.
Also, we moving forward? I don't mean to be pushy... but slowed down threads tend to... dissipate. I'm not saying that it will happen to this one and you guys are very close to leveling up... but this is still my first game GMing on the PBP forums. I don't want to be too boring...

Tobias Johansen |

I hate to do this so soon after joining, but my post rate may slow for a few weeks. My smartphone is, for want of a batter word, dead, and I'm using an ooooooold backup until my contract gives me a free upgrade in three weeks. So I can't post during weekdays until then. Weeknights and weekends, I can still post. Bear with me during this difficult time. :P

Raseri Whitescale |

DMDM, would you mind if I switched archetypes since the Invulnerable Rager doesn't kick in until 2nd level? I was looking at the Mad Dog archetype, and I think it might make for a fun bit of roleplay as well as giving the front line a bit of a boost.

Darrian Masters Dungeon Maestro |

But Mad Dog kicks in at level one... where did your animal companion come from? Also, what set this off?
If you truly wish to, I won't stop you... but I would indeed like explanations to the sudden change and where the animal came in... or suggestions on how the animal came into the picture.
... Also, just want to point out that level 2 isn't very far off.

Raseri Whitescale |

Yeah I know.
Honestly, I thought it'd be more interesting, and a good bit of "wish I'd thought of this earlier," too. As for the animal companion, well... let me put it in a spoiler.
I thought having Raseri meet her companion while out here in the brush would be a fun bit of role-playing. I know you said you wouldn't stop me, but if you really would rather me not, just say so and I'll drop it.
It's your game, and while this is cooperative, you are ultimately the final arbiter of what happens. I'll stick by whatever you decide.

Darrian Masters Dungeon Maestro |

I'm not saying I wouldn't like it. You have as much right to your character and the story as I have to help tell it and even though I'm the final "arbiter," I find it in poor taste to be a GM and not at least try to work with my players about what they want from the game.
We are all supposed to have fun here and if this would make the game more fun for you then I say go for it. (though if you tried to make the choice way later... the sudden change wouldn't make a lot of sense to me).

Lies |

Personally, I prefer Shoanti Burn Rider, but it doesn't fit Ulfen flavor.
To throw in my 2 copper however, aside from the animal companion more or less suddenly appearing, there also the issue that you'd no longer be able to rage until 4th level. I don't know how much you've used the rage ability but that seems like a big loss to me.

Raseri Whitescale |

@DMDM: Thanks, I'll PM about how to introduce Raseri's new friend when I get home and can think.
@Lies: I think I haven't to be honest. I don't even have the rage counter in the quick stats (Which is something I need pretty badly.) As for losing rage until level 4, I've played fighters and barbarians, I don't think I'm going to be hurting too much. I may not be as spongey as other barbarians, but I'm okay with that.
As for the animal companion's entrance, well, I have an idea for that. ;)

Tobias Johansen |

Can your animal companion beat evolutions, an always-on changeable boon, and free teamwork feats? No? Just checking ;-)
Knowing you, though, I am both excited for and scared of what you're planning.

Raseri Whitescale |

No, but the +4 from flanking doesn't hurt. ;)

Tobias Johansen |

You mean the thing I get for free next level and can pair with Pack Flanking so that we count as flanking when adjacent? ;-) You can always take teamwork feats to get in on this!

Raseri Whitescale |

I think I will. This is going to make for some awesome synergy.

Tobias Johansen |

Man, I am gonna laugh so hard if EVERYONE ends up taking teamwork feats. That would just be awesome. We could be like a wolf pack! :P

Grandma Mable |

Well I do like to trip so I was going to look into that teamwork feat :)

Tobias Johansen |

Yeah, Tandem Trip is pretty great. Especially when your wolf gets a free trip on every bite! :D
Also, GM, I'm gonna roll stealth checks here so as to not clutter the gamepla, because I forgot in my last post.
Tobias: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Kaveri: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Raseri Whitescale |

Stealth: 1d20 ⇒ 11
Because I forgot like those guys did.
On Stealth Synergy: If you guys take it, I'll take it. It'd be pretty funny to have the barbarian come with the scouts. :D
(Actually, I think I'll take it regardless, since Storhrid is as stealthy as Tobias and Kaveri.)

Lies |

As funny as it sounds, I see it as a sound idea, it might make us more likely to get discovered, but it gives us a better chance of surviving if we do get noticed, plus with stealth synergy, even without being trained if we had it now, the lowest stealth would have been Tobias' nat 19, and the great thing about stealth synergy is it gets better the more people who have it, just imagine with a full party having the feat and 2 animal companions/1 familiar, that would be everyone taking the best roll of 9 dice, but unfortunately for me, it's not a combat feat, so my fox couldn't have it (even if I multiclass with eldritch guardian fighter) unless I change her archetype from mascot to valet (which was practically made for my rogue archetype anyway).

Tobias Johansen |

Could be worth it, then. I'm just not sure how much chance we'll have to use it, but if there's lots of opportunity for it...
BTW, Raseri, what kind of animal companion are you thinking of?

Raseri Whitescale |

A wolf. I've updated Raseri's stats and DMDM has already approved it. I just need a chance to introduce her.

Tobias Johansen |

A lady wolf? I'm, uh, asking for a friend. :P
*Kaveri glares*
What? What makes you think it's you? I have other friends, you know!
This party's about to get a whole lot furrier and funnier, isn't it? :P

Raseri Whitescale |

Yes, and yes.
Careful, I think Kaveri knows why you began coming home smelling like another wolf recently. ;)

Tobias Johansen |

Yes, and yes.
Careful, I think Kaveri knows why you began coming home smelling like another wolf recently. ;)
I can just hear that "Ronnie, I've got such plans in store for your character!" tone. o_O

Grandma Mable |

I will be on vacation next week so any posting I do will be from my phone. Please bot me if needed.

Tobias Johansen |

Yay! I have a new phone! And I bit the bullet and grabbed Wayfinder, so I can post a bit more easily.
That said, I think I'm letting Raseri handle this encounter. Tobias doesn't quite know what to do, and he's new to the group. Also, I'm having trouble thinking lately.

Tobias Johansen |

It's an app. Costs a couple of bucks, and it allows for easier posting from your phone. The big draw is that it allows you to just press, for example, "speech" and it will automatically put in the BBCode and quotation marks. The automatic formatting is much simpler than manually entering it.
I just downloaded it, and I'm already enjoying it :)

Grandma Mable |

ok I have tried to find it and I see a lot of apps called wayfinder with maps on them. Could you possibly give me an web address please?

Raseri Whitescale |

if you click on the link in Tobias' post, you'll be taken right to it.

Grandma Mable |

I am getting the message URL not found. Thats why I asked. Oh well just my luck.

Raseri Whitescale |

Well, it appears that due to some changes on Paizo's site, Wayfinder no longer works and has been taken down. Shame really.
Also, Ronnie, don't logout, else you won't be able to log back in from it.

Tobias Johansen |

Well, that sucks. I just got the darn thing. :/ Thanks for the heads-up, though. Hopefully there'll be a replacement at some point.

Grandma Mable |

My bad I am the priest and I am the only one who did not pray over the funeral. Shame on me!
