Background:
Grandma Mable was born in..., well no one knows where she was born. She grew up in Irrison in the temple of Cayden Cailean. The high priest of Cayden Cailean was traveling past the bone mill, it was a place where unwanted people were disposed. He quietly bribed a guard to give him a small baby, then he picked up a baby and walked away. He never explained why he saved this crippled child. When asked, the priest simply said he was the high priest and didn't have to explain. In reality, Cayden had spoken to the high priest in a dream, telling him to save a child with a crecent birthmark on her shoulder. She would be important.

Grandma Mable was raised in secret by one of the many priestesses in the temple. The priestess never bothered to give the child a name. She never wanted to become attached to this child, and it didn't help that the child never studied her spells - she simply knew them. As the years went by, the child grew weary of being referred to only as Child, so she decided to change her name. She found some flour and made her hair white. Thereafter, Grandma Mable refused to answer to any name but "Grandma Mable". Not long after she changed her name, she noticed the attitude of the other priests & priestesses was changing. Grandma Mable was beginning to gain respect in the eyes of the other members of the church.

Grandma Mable was only 16 years old when the church members decided it would be better if she moved south to a warmer climate. While cripples could survive in Irrison, they were not welcome, and the bone mill was a quick way to dispose of the imperfections of the world. Grandma Mable loves her new life in the small town of Heldren. In the time she has lived here, she has made many friends, but her best friend is the inn keeper. She will often bring in a new recipe with the inns usual order for her friend to try. She is well known for her chicken soup. She always has some ready for those who get sick. Caring for her children (the people of Heldren) is a dream come true, and she will do whatever she can to protect them. Someday she hopes she can save others just as she was saved in Irrison.


Description:
Grandma Mable appears to be an old woman with grey hair and a limp. She always carries her walking stick with a unicorn cozy on top. When she is not traveling, her walking stick is also decorated with gifts she has received. (Mittens too small to wear, a small piece of embroidery, etc...) Grandma Mable is well known to lend a hand where it is needed. She often helps with jobs others think should be left for the younger members of the town. She loves to cook and usually can be found with cookies to share in her goody bag. In the three years she has been here, she has become very protective of her flock.
