Darrian Masters Dungeon Maestro |

Hi guys and welcome to the Campaign!
Just a few quick things:
@ Grandma Mable: Cook should be a profession skill and not craft (you would get more out of it anyway).
@ Everyone: So how are we going to do combat? Like I said before on the recruitment thread we can go about it one of two ways: Theater of the mind or Roll 20. I can try to help and teach you how to work Roll 20, though for what I have in mind, the only things you guys are going to do is pick your token picture and move your characters around. I can handle every thing else.
Also... as an after thought, it would be helpful to you guys if at least one of you is trained in Knowledge (geography) (though you don't have to right now, more like when you level up). If one of you does, forget what I said....
Anyway, please add a spoiler in your class/levels part of your alias that displays some of your stats in this format: (example) HP 16/16 | AC 16, T 13, FF 13 | CMD 15 | Fort +2, Ref +3, Will +6 | Init +4 | Perception +4 (DV 60)
(HP, AC, Touch AC, Flatfooted AC, CMD, Saves, Initiative, Perception modifier and perception based abilities.)

Varian Seldlon |

I use Roll20 a lot myself, so I am fine with it.

Greetings to the lucky selected few. The "reaping" has produced our names and I'm excited to make some new friends and play this AP.
1st to address the DM:
- Is the class/level tag line acceptable as I have it? Or would you like me to change it some?
- I've never used roll20 before so I might need a little instruction in how to use it. I definately would appreciate a map to refrence as needed for combat, ect. vs "theatre of mind" only.
I typically have access to the boards at work, but most map services are blocked by my company's firewall. This means, I have the ability to post many times throughout the day, but at times, may need someone else to move me around a map.
Of course I believe I'm a pretty funny guy, but I'm a very easy going nerd also. Point being if somehow I manage to "cross a line", or offend anyone... it was not intentional and would really appreciate you telling me so.
Hopefully that's enough to "break the ice" for now. Feel free to ask me anything here in discussion or PM.
If anyone wants a quick "meat n tators" of my character
Envision a gypsy fortune teller. He uses a Harrow Deck (tarrot cards) to make predictions. The Harrow deck replaces his familiar. Expect an occasional reading being offer to the party and role play under the assumption he is trying to change a dark future he predicted. He is skill heavy and learns as many languages as he can. Can fill as "the face" or other skill monkey roles.
In combat expect debuffs from witch hexs, but very little "actual" combat. Out of combat, he will always want to add spells to his spell list, possibly get into some crafting, make use of utility spells.
I can't wait to get started!

1. Your tag line is acceptable.
2. I'll help you out with roll 20 when we get there k.

Grandma Mable |

Grandma Mable is a sweet old lady who runs a bakery. Please remember I dont have channeling but I can certainly heal.
oh yea I have never used d20 either so I will have a learning curve as well.

Sevante |

Glad to be here too. Thank-you for choosing Sevante.
I am perfectly happy and familiar with roll20 and I will get a tag line up later today (with skills as well). Also just noticed Sevante's info under his profile is out of date. I can get that when I get home this evening.
Sevante is built primarily to assist in combat...
I look forward to working with everyone.
EDIT: and Grandma Mable, I'm sorry if I defined something about your character you didn't have in mind in the gameplay thread... I was thinking of ways Sevante could know people and be considered a hero.

Raseri Whitescale |

Well, I guess I should introduce myself then.
I'm 25, single, male, and a graduate of the University of Alabama. I have a BS in CS and I work full-time as a web developer for a local company near Montgomery, AL.
I got into tabletop RPGs through PFS, but PBP's are what got me hooked. I tend to post on the first draft, so forgive me if there are errors in it. I think I do pretty well with characterization.
I run a few games here on the boards and I'm wrapping up a recruitment for another over the next week.
I have an odd sense of humor at times and I like puns and other forms of wordplay.
Not sure how Raseri's a hero, since she just got there like three days ago. Perhaps her reputation precedes her? Also, I've only used Roll20 as a GM. Should be interesting to be a player.
She's the battering ram. Pure and simple. Point her at something and she'll turn it into shredded meat faster than you can say boom-schnitzel.
Outside of combat, well, I think Comic relief may not be the right word, but it's close.
@ The GM: Is Raseri's status bar good?

@ The GM: Is Raseri's status bar good?
Lol, her reputation does indeed and has kept many a bandit away.
The only help I need from you guys regarding Roll 20 at the moment is to show me some possibilities for your character tokens.
And yes your status bar is good, but whats NL?

Caladrel Wintergrasp |

can you use the same portraits of our alias for our tokens?

Grandma Mable |

Now I do feel like the grandma. Lets just say I am old enough to be your grandma. I live in the midwest and I am the mother of two boys
And you will find out that for an old Lady I can hit reather well.

Varian Seldlon |

can you use the same portraits of our alias for our tokens?
yes, you can actually.

Raseri Whitescale |

Lol, her reputation does indeed and has kept many a bandit away.
"Stars above, you'd think that there was only one short, fiery, ulfen red-head. They should have met my mother. Five boys, three daughters, and a husband that was five times her size. There is a reason she never had to tell any of us to do something twice!"
The only help I need from you guys regarding Roll 20 at the moment is to show me some possibilities for your character tokens.
If you can wait a day or two, I can have something to use done. I just don't have the energy to draw at the moment.
And yes your status bar is good, but whats NL?
Non-Lethal damage. It comes up often enough that having it helps.

Grandma Mable |

I have only taken common language and with my IQ I should have two more. Is it ok if I add Skald? It would make since for my character to know it.

Darrian Masters Dungeon Maestro |

@ Grandma Mable: Yes you can if you want.
@ Everyone: Also, I am sorry to everyone that my posts might be lack luster and might not be very consistent for a while. It seems that I've caught a bug that I can't shake. It makes me kinda dizzy and seems to be the start of a full blown fever. Funny that I get sick during spring break of all times, right? I will try to keep up with my posts, but there is a possibility of some lapse if this bug takes me out of commission, just a head up.

Good luck, I hope you're feeling better soon!

Raseri Whitescale |

Yeesh, I hope it's not the flu.
Seconding the get well soon!

Darrian Masters Dungeon Maestro |

Quick Roll 20 Run-through:
1. Go to www.roll20.net
2. Create a free account if you don't have one already.
3. Since we are using a pbp, all you need next are:
a. A picture for your token (If you have one you would like to use we can figure out how to get it to me so I can set it up or if you don't care what your character looks like I could just use your alias picture. Remember a close-up like your alias picture is probably best.)
b. Learn how to control a token (you can watch the walk through or make a test campaign to fiddle with it). The basics are a clicking on the token and dragging it, using arrow keys, or using the orientation "lever" to control facing (only useful if your token shows the body of your character).
c. Last but not least, getting to my campaign: I will send all of you a link in a PM in a little bit. I will set your tokens, to start with, as your alias picture. If you have any preference just tell me later. (don't worry if you can't control your token yet, I have to apply permissions to them and I can't do it till you join k).

Raseri Whitescale |

I think you'd better use Raseri's profile pic for now. I'm not going to be doing any drawings worth much tonight.

Caladrel Wintergrasp |

alias pic is cool for me

Raseri Whitescale |

By the way, are there any cold weather outfits available for purchase in Heldren?

Raseri Whitescale |

Alrighty then, I'll have Raseri's gear updated in a bit.

Sevante |

If I remember correctly they are 8 GP and Sevante does not have enough for one.

Raseri Whitescale |

How much are you short by? I've got 2 gold and 9 silver left.

Sevante |

No need, Sevante can make up an Endure Elements each morning until he has enough. He's not likely to stay broke for long, so I'm going to enjoy it.

Sevante |

For now. I should be able to log in to the roll20 campaign tomorrow. Night everyone.
(Alwo wouldn't be opposed to jumping to the first battle either)

Darrian Masters Dungeon Maestro |

It seems we have three of the five that have joined my roll 20 campaign at the moment. For those that did, could you please PM me your Roll 20 identity so that I can assign permissions.
Also, anybody having trouble with it so far? I know some of you haven't used it yet. Maybe we can make a date and bring you over to my test campaign so I can help you figure some things out.

Caladrel Wintergrasp |

Caladrel will donate coin towards cold weather clothing as long as....
This replaces the witch’s 4th-level hex.
... he can reserve the right to point and laugh at y'all in only his codpiece, while you shiver in the cold!

Darrian Masters Dungeon Maestro |

Lol... I wouldn't know how to react if someone showed up like that with the winter's we have up here.
Anyway I only have two people assigned to their character token and it seems like you guys want to get the show on the road. I guess I could give universal permissions if you guys want to go to the attack site, as long as you guys only move your token.
Before we do that though, I would like confirmation from Sevante and Varian as to what they want to do. If they don't give it by tomorrow, then I guess we can force things along.

Careful, tick Ras off and there might not be anything for that codpiece to cover. >:)

Caladrel Wintergrasp |

brrrrrrrrrr, Caladrel just got cold for a moment
logged into roll20, do you need anything more from me

Darrian Masters Dungeon Maestro |

Nope, you're good. I just need Sevante to launch the campaign once, so I can assign him and I need Varian to get to it and also launch it. Either way, we get this show going forward tomorrow.
Edit:
Scratch that. It seems We are waiting on Varian, for now. I'll PM him real quick too on the situation.

Sevante |

Launched! Sorry about the wait.

Varian Seldlon |

checked in

Sevante |

Well we have enough pairs of snowshoes for all but one, if people take ten... and the final pair could be finished of someone aided Grandma Mable (after the +2 I don't know if Sevante can...) Otherwise I am happy to move ahead.
I hope the interview went well!

Raseri Whitescale |

I think three people would have to help Ras make shoes. She doesn't have an INT bonus. She is the fastest character, though, so I think she should be fine even without the shoes.

Darrian Masters Dungeon Maestro |

It went well enough. I was more nervous before than during the interview anyway.
I just popped up the first battle map for your viewing (not the official battle map, the one that appears in the AP... so it has area codes that relate to the book). Lets assume that you guys made the last pair of snowshoes, and are ready to move forward.
Your characters are in the upper left corner. You can move them at your leisure, but please only move them once for each post you do and give me a chance to respond. Currently there is no initiative order, so have at it.

Caladrel Wintergrasp |

good luck with the results of the interview.
1st attempt to use roll20 map. I tried to move myself to the carts, to begin looking around for clues. It shows 3 circles for putting values in (attack bonuses I assume). Are you planning on having us use any of the features, besides simply moving around?

Raseri Whitescale |

Those are meters. Health, and whatever else you may need.
