Sorry I haven't been posting....
It seems like I don't have much time for myself at the moment.
Work and college courses seem to want to eat up my time and I'm barely home during the day.
I think this campaign is going on hiatus for a while.... I'm sorry. If you were waiting for me to get back, please find other games or something else to occupy yourself in the meantime.
Just know that I was thankful to DM for you guys for a while and I hope you don't take this too much against me...
Later, when I have the time, you aren't too occupied, and you're willing, I may reboot this game or have something else interesting for you guys to do, but at the moment it seems RL has sunk its teeth in me firmly... a little too firmly. -_-
Talk to ya later.
Sorry... I'm better now... but that catch up kinda got me snagged for a while.
I have a lot due next week for my classes and have been trying to get everything together.
I dont mind... Sorry for not being on top of things lately. College decided to kidnap my time and then sickness grabbed me as well.
I currenly have a fever with bouts of dizziness and wanted to let you guys know im still here while im lucid.
Sorry if i didnt make it apparent, but the room past the stairs is in the lower right corner of the map.... Also... since Lies has left i dont feel like trying to get another character on board at the moment... I'm sorry....
Lies wrote: I’m afraid I have some disappointing news for all of you. I have come to the decision to drop all of my pbp games. It’s not that I do not enjoy these games, or that I have a problem with any one in particular (after all I am posting this message in each of the pbp games that I am in) but I feel that I need to have more time to spend on other projects. I have enjoyed the time that I have spent with all of you, and hope that I am not putting anyone at too much of an inconvenience, but this is the decision that I have arrived at. I apologize for my spurts of inactivity, and hope that you all enjoyed the time I spent in these groups – even if they may have been brief.
Best of luck to all of you, and may the dice gods have mercy on us all.
Well... you may come back whenever you wish. Good luck on your other projects. ^_^ No hard feelings.
Tobias Johansen wrote: "Nay, lass. She's a savage beast of the north, not a pup." Unfortunately for Tobias, he chooses to say this just as Storhrid yawns widely and snaps at her own tail. "Well, in theory, she is," he sighs, shaking his head as he makes for the stairs.
Can we get a map of the upstairs, GM?
...Whoops... sorry. I'll get thay up in a little bit. I didnt know if you guys were still talking/planning.
Tobias Johansen wrote: "You'll be safe with us," Tobias reassures the noblewoman, flashing a toothy grin at Raseri. "We should look upstairs. It's likely he knows of our presence, and waits."
Where are Ten-Penny, Geoff, and Charl during all of this?
Kinda standing around awkwardly. Geoff and Charl look a bit surprised about something and are looking around suspisciously. They also seem to be staying near everyone in the group, keeping their presence known while staying out of your way. Ten-Penny seems to be quickly sorting through a few items, of which you can't tell because of how fast she inspects them and how close she keeps the items to her person. She seems less frightened by everyone in general and seems to blush when you look in her general direction, but quickly hides it behind her "work" and mutterings.
Hmm...
Are Lies and Blaize still here? I guess I can message both of them if not.
I kinda assumed that's what you were going for when you made the check Mable. You have no clue how he could have gotten out.
The Lady, with an air that could only come from years of life within her station, says "Thank you for your concern, but as of yet I am unharmed. Rohkar should be stopped... I ask you as it begets my honor and the honor of my house and the responsibility we have to the people. I do think you would be able to protect me... you all seem quite capable."
You don't see any indication that Rohkar or anyone else is down here. The "cell" also seems to be air tight save for the hatch you just entered.
The lady looks confused and says, "He was here a moment ago... then I heard noise coming from up above. He swore and rushed past me. I could have sworn he was headed for the hatch, but when I turned around to watch his passing he was gone."
The same.. sorry rl is getting a little difficult... :(

It is very dark in what was once a small wine seller. It is obvious to you that the wine was taken from this a while ago and replaced with a small holding cell of sorts. Blankets for warmth sit in one corner, the remnants of a meal sit in another. Despite the bleak feel of the place it seems that the bandits kept it well cleaned and there is no indication that the lady had to use this place as a restroom at any point.
A woman, to whom you can only assume to be Lady Argentea, calmly sits in one corner as you descend into her prison. She appears to be fine if a little dirty.
She sits up and watches you with a slight weary cast to her eyes,"Who are you? I don't believe we have meet before... but who knows with all of Rohkars men milling about..."
She pauses as she gets a better look at you, "... You aren't one of Rohkars men?"
This seems to give her a quick jolt of joy that she hides quickly under the facade of her station... though she is slow to give up the small smile that appears on her face.
Rohkar is nowhere to be seen.
Ten-Penny tentatively looks at the proffered hand of Tobias and takes it in hers and 'shakes, grasps, etc' along with you. Studying your face more closely she blushes, looking away and coughing into her hand after snatching it back from you.
"Well I wouldn't want to stand in your way, now would I?
Ten-Penny nods and says "She's being held in the basement beneath that trapdoor over yonder. I had a chat with her every now and again when they had me bring her food. Proud woman that... smart too if our brief exchanges are anything to go by... But enough about that. Rohkar went down there just a little bit ago before you got here... there isn't anyway I can think of he didn't hear you, though I don't know why he didn't come help."
She politely points the crossbow at the ground but pointedly doesn't relinquish it.
Sorry about the wait. House sitting on short notice and there dogs kept me busy.

Before you truly enter the kitchen, you glimpse the floor. Strewn thinly across it seems to be several sacks worth of flour, much of the particles of yet to settle.
As you round the corner you see a half-orc woman crouched behind some barrels. In her arms is a crossbow, its length resting on the barrel in front of her. She has you sighted as you enter the room, adjusting as you go across her vision. On a barrel next to her is a small dish with a dull red glow perched up on its rim.
She eyes you warily with your weapon sheathed before relaxing her aim with the crossbow slightly. She waits several more moments to judge your actions and relaxes visibly.
Though visibly surprised by your final gesture, she doesn't react much more than a mere flicker on her face and a slight flinching away.
"An Ulfen? Far away from home aren't you?" She says and then nods towards Tobias as he enters the room, acknowledging the sentiment.
She quickly tips a teacup over on the dish with the glow and those present realized that it was a good sized coal. You deduce that she quickly and purposely had the flour strewn across the floor and was planning to set the whole kitchen alight in a flash if she felt that your intentions weren't pure.
She sets the crossbow to the side, still keeping her hand on it. "And well met to both of you... now what? What is to be done here? To me? I know you are here for the Lady. She hasn't been harmed and I assumed she was here for ransom? Though if what you say was true and the sentinels did own this lodge... I don't know what Rohkar plans to do with her anymore..."

Raseri and Mable get the sense that she is indeed telling the truth about not wanting to kill anyone. Both of you get a slight sense of sadness from her spoken truth.
Mable even picks up something more in her voice.. a slight quiver that shows quite clearly that the girl is scared.. very scared. Mable understands that if they push too hard she might react based on her fear... and well.. that could be quiet negative.
After Tobias speaks the girl's voice gets quiet for a moment as she mumbles to herself, "Dammit... So they took they place before they took me in... dammit."
She then speaks louder to make sure that she's heard, "I had nothing to do with harming them, who ever they were. As to being a bandit? No, I am here because I was unfortunate enough to be. They took me in for my skills and gave me shelter because of the trouble that those skills caused."
Geoff walks over and says "Ten-Penny.. just come out now. Rohkar tried to kill us but these folks saved us. You don't have to trust them, but trust that Charl and I are alive... and they probably won't kill us offhandedly." As he says that he gives Raseri quick sidelong glance and a slight nervous smile.
Just show me a roll here, or take half +1.
A well spoken female voice says "Do you? I heard what you did to Rokhar's lot. Did you even think to consider disarming the sick ones? By the sound of it they barely put up a fight."
Before Raseri can answer the female voice harrumphs and says "Of course I don't want to fight, I don't like killing. No profit, messy, and ghosts on my conscience? No thank you... I will if I have to though."
The sound of a crossbow being drawn can be heard in the room.
"What say you? I can respect your sense of justice, order of the world and all, but I would rather keep my head on my shoulders."
To Mable she says "Now why would I want to do that mam? Words laced with honey are one of my specialties and you seem to be out of practice... That at the very least means you might be more trustworthy than your friend, but I'm not coming out just yet."
Before Raseri gets over too far, she sees a bearskin rug dominating the floor of this trophy room behind the fire place. The heads of several deer have been mounted on the walls and doors lead north and south.
Raseri sees a corner of a trapdoor underneath the bear rug.
In the interest of time.
Raseri kicks open the door to the west and sees that a large fireplace takes up most of the north wall of this room, its radiant heat providing palpable relief from the cold weather outside. Cabinets and shelves line the remaining wall space, and four windows look out on the wintry landscape surrounding the lodge.
Raseri also hears someone knock something over and swear as they crouch behind some barrels.
By my reckoning, Blaize is over by H11, in Rokhar's room... and also please refrain from party wipe via burning lodge down. ;)
Also important to note. Everyone can level-up after exploring most of the upper lodge... So congrats. You may do so whenever you like. ^_^
Yes, I think that's reasonable Lies.
The chest currently holds a gold ingot engraved with a royal seal of some kind, a spyglass, a silver lady's ring, three shards of tiger's eye gemstones, a fine pair of fancy looking leather riding boots, a silver dagger, and a leather portfolio containing several pieces of parchment, including a scroll of endure elements, two scrolls of manic weapon, and a scroll of unseen servant.
Raseri, are you kicking in the door or are you interested in the few things that happened? If you are just moving forward, just say the word and I'll reveal more of the map.
Mable is able to determine that the man is sick with Chillbane Fever, a very debilitating disease that seems to have been shared by the other bandits. He also has many injuries that were poorly cleaned, and seem to have been inflicted not to kill, but were strategically placed to cause the most pain. Mable does her best for the man, but only time will show if he is too far gone or was saved just in time.
Lies can't see any traps that might go off, the only defense seemingly the heavy wood of the container and the shiny lock set in its lid.
As Mable finishes helping the man he seems wake slightly and says "Won't tell them... won't give up... sentinel's oath..."
After such utterances he falls into a more comfortable, less fevered sleep.
I'm not saying they try to stop you. I just noticed that Blaize was checking out Rohkars room and everyone else didn't have a lot of input.
Excellent. So is Raseri just kicking down another door, or does anyone want to do something beforehand? Geoff and Charl seem to just be following her around and Mabs is currently perch up on the table to be out of the way and possibly out of close quarters if something else appears.
So I finally have constant internet access as long as I can pay the bill.
Everyone still here?
Raseri kicks the door into a warm welcoming room with a comfy bed and an ornate looking chest. The only thing to break the image of the room is the smell of sweat, blood, and sickness that permeates the room.
A man lays in the bed slowing tossing and turning in a fevered slumber. What's visible of his body is either pinkish-red and glistening with sweat or covered in bandages, some of which is crusted with dry blood. He moans and feasibly bats at the noise of the door slamming open.
Blaize can detect minor magic coming from multiple directions in Rohkar's room. Most of it however seems to be concentrated on the chest.
Sorry... Since I moved, we haven't had internet at our house and I've been having trouble finding time to go get it (mostly at our town's coffee shop). I am currently trying to rectify the problem and we will most likely have internet Friday at the earliest.
Though... I hope this is the last time I have to make an "excuse" like this :(
RL is making trouble for me a lot I guess.
I also have to admit that it isn't very fair to you guys to wait up on me all the time. If you guys wish, I can try to petition to get someone else to take over...
However, I can promise more frequent posts as soon as MTA comes over to set things up Friday.
The next door Raseri kicks in takes a few tries before it slams open, indicating the door was more resilient than its predecessor. Three doors open into this room. A sturdy bed heaped with blankets sits near the only window, and a large maple chest occupies the southwest corner.
Geoff comments "The Bo-" He frowns and looks angry for a second, "That backstabbing Rohkar set up in this room, though he rarely slept in it." He looks over to Raseri and the rest of the group, "Be careful what you touch in here. No telling what that backstabbing necromancer ensorceled."
Charl looks around frantically and nods in agreement.
Raseri kicks open the door to find that the room holds a bed and chest sitting across from one another. Two doors serve as exits, one she just entered, and a window looks out on the north side. Otherwise the room appears devoid of decoration or living occupants.
The closed chest bears the name Tacey haphazardly engraved on a simple metal plate set within the wood. The lock appears new and the wood of the chest well kept however.
A noise can heard further in the cabin, but it's hard to pinpoint where it came from or what it was.
Geoff and Charl seem concerned, but stay alert and close to the group without commenting on it.
It seems the current retinue of bandits are down for the count. The last two probably wouldn't put up more of a fight and one of them is at deaths door. What would you guys like to do?

Its all right... It took a while for me to get back as well...
Tobias sharply commands Kaveri before quickly launching himself on the table. As he lands, his sword flashes in front of him, severing his opponent's head from his shoulders.
Kaveri quickly follows his master's command and bowls over his prey, nearly getting the bandit's throat within his jaws and gets a savaging mouthful of the man's arm instead.
Geoff doesn't seem to know what to do with himself this turn and, Charl quickly makes his way inside.
The Bandit being savaged by Kaveri shoves the wolf off of him and shouts in agony as his cloths are dyed red with his own blood. Angrily and with haste he shouts "I concede! By the Gods I concede, just get this mangy mutt away from me!" His sword clatters to the ground as he tosses it to the side to stop the blood pouring from his arm.
He looks as if he's about to pass out.
The Sick Bandit, upon hearing of his comrades surrender makes up his mind and tries to dive through the window. In his haste he doesn't even open the window shutters and gets splinters and a sore head for his trouble. Wood scraps clatter to the floor as he lands prone outside.
It is Mable's turn. What would you guys like to do?
Raseri swings her sword, hearing it ring and whistle through the air with the sudden strength, cutting the man in front of her in twain.
Storhrid then lunges at the man behind, missing his through as the man brings his sword to bear.
Lies quickly trikes the man next to her, severing the tendons in his leg, causing him to fall over and slowly bleed out.
Mabs flies into the building and lands on the table. Addressing remaining bandits, she says "Now boys... I suggest you take these young'uns previous offer... if they are still so inclined."
Alright... I'm back again and I promise I will be able to post every day if you can. I lost my internet for a while when we were moving to our new place, and didn't have a chance to inform you guys... sorry...
If you wish to continue, it is Tobias' turn...
Mable has a hard time tripping the bandit in front of her. He seems to be keeping a close eye to such a tactic.
Blaize's words causes the bandit to come to a halt. You can see his eyes dart between you and the window, debating whether to listen to you or to see if he's fast enough to get out of here.
Sorry about the wait again. It will be the end of the semester for me around Monday, so I might have more time to put to you guys. It is now Raseri's turn and Lies' right after.

The prone condition causes all melee attacks that you perform to take a -4 penalty (quick note, though I saw you already added the penalty). When you crawl while prone you can only take 5-foot "steps", have to make acrobatics checks to move through attack of opportunity spaces (or out of) and all movement while prone allows for provoking of attacks of opportunity from enemies.
However, for the sake of time... and my tardiness, your movement will stay as is.
Lies sneakily attacks the bandit next to her, cutting deeply into his leg before sneakily crawling to the other side of the table. He doesn't seem to know what hit him... he probably assumes that he missed Raseri striking him.
Charl back peddles away from the bandit trying to get out of the range of his sword, defensively trying to protect himself.
Geoff will fire his crossbow at the man in front of him...
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 3 - 4 = 14
Damage Roll: 1d8 ⇒ 4
Hitting the bandit in his side with the bolt. He takes his time to hunker back behind the barrel and reload.
Seeing that they aren't doing to well the bandits try to back away from the melee (especially the sick one who saw one of his fellows burn). If they can they defensively back away to try and regroup.
All take 5-foot steps and the total defense actions, or in the case of the fellow who saw his companion burn, a move action toward the window and a total defense action, wary of the spellcaster.
It is now Mable's Turn, then Blaize's turn again.
Sorry for the wait again. Finals, work, and now painting/moving into my new house are keeping me busy.
I should have said something to you guys and I'm sorry... I might be a little bit too busy for some weeks to come, but know that I will try to keep you guys informed and will try to keep this moving forward.
Will post in a minute... again sorry for the wait.
Blaize Sneaks into the room of sick bandits and chucks a 'FLAMING' snowball at one of the bandit's backs, setting him ablaze. He flails about screaming as the fire consumes him and he falls over burnt to a crisp.
Raseri, Storhrid, and Kaveri are having trouble landing hits on any of the bandits. The one fighting Raseri gives her a pitying look before getting his blade ready.
Lies' actions take place before Tobias if she wants to/when she posts.
Mabs evil eye's Raseris new foe.
Giving him a -2 to AC.
Tobias shouts for the sickened bandits to drop their blades, but gets a response in the form of a lazy blade swipe from one of them. Seeing their resolve, he takes his blade and swings to great effect, separating a head from one owners body.
Was going to do charl, geoff and the bandits, but will wait until Lies takes her action before they move around too much.

Tobias slashes the bandit's shoulder with enough force to send the blade though his collarbone and severing his life blood in one deft swing. The bandit dies before he can hit the ground.
Charl smashes through the shutters of the window he is at and attempts to grapple the bandit standing next to it.
Grapple Check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
He fails horribly as some logs at his feet give way and trip him up.
Geoff takes the crossbow he looted and aims it into the lodge. Seeing that he can't get a good pin on anybody in the melee, he proceeds to slowly climb in through the window and hide behind the barrel located there.
Stealth Check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
He doesn't seem to be doing a very good job of it though.
The Bandits in H14 head over to the door and one opens it and walks through. He seems startled by Tobias, but quickly regains his composure enough to try to strike him.
Attack Roll: 20 + 0 = 20
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (6) + 0 = 6
Damage Roll: 1d6 - 2 ⇒ (6) - 2 = 4
Even though he appears sickly, he deftly strikes at Tobias, dealing a hefty blow.
...wow... Tobias takes 4 damage.
Another bandit makes his way out of the room, shoving past him....
Perception Roll: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (7) - 2 = 5
And surprisingly doesn't spot Geoff before taking a swing at Kaveri...
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (20) + 0 = 20
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (20) + 0 = 20
Damage Roll: 1d6 - 2 + 1d6 - 2 ⇒ (5) - 2 + (1) - 2 = 2
catching the wolf in the chest, but missing its vitals.
... 20's? Kaveri takes 2 damage.
The other bandits in the sick room crowd the door, waiting for the way out to clear. All of their backs are turned towards Blaize.
The bandit that was attacked by charl takes a swing at him...
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Damage Roll: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
and takes Charl in the face with his sword. Charl looks very worse for wear...
Charl takes 5 damage and appears to just be hanging on.
Another bandit rushes over to Tobias and tries to swing at him...
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
And completely misses as Tobias deftly ducks the clumsy swing.
Lastly, a bandit rushes over to Raseri and takes a swing at her...
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Damage Roll: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
and gets in a lucky hit, tearing his sword through her side.
Raseri takes 5 damage.
Mable is also unable to trip the bandit near her due to his already uneven walk making it hard to catch his legs.
It is now Blaize's turn.... Also, sorry about the dice hate at the moment... all of those 20's out of nowhere...
Initiative Order:
Blaize, Raseri, Lies, Mabs, Tobias, Geoff and Charl, Bandits, and Finally Mable.
Kaveri's jaws snap through the leg of the bandit, bringing him the ground, making him bleed profusely. With his other wounds on top of his leg, it seems he is out of the fight.... possibly permanently.
Tobias, with the bandit dead, you seem to lack a target for that sword of yours....
Not to waste a roll I will allow the attack to hit another bandit of your choice.
Tobias does hear shuffling and voices from behind the door he is next to however.
Sorry about the short break. Was waiting for Tobias' post when my little brother broke his leg roller skating with his girlfriend during the weekend.... Will continue.
Tobias Johansen wrote: Sorry, DM; I'm posting late and I'm a bit frazzled... do both I and my animal companion now have a full round worth of actions? Yes. You and your wolf. I just got the wolf's last actions late... sorry.

Blaize: Though purposeful and moving as quickly as they can, the bandits don't seem to be able to leave quickly enough for your liking.
Are you holding your action till they make their way towards the door? They won't move until the bandits turn as a whole comes around.
Raseri: The Bandit laughs at your attempts to harm him. "Now, what would I be praying to lass? There are no gods here." He says as he gets ready to swing at you.
Lies: You successfully hide under the table amid the chaos of battle. You have a great view of shins and kneecaps to hit.
Mabs: Mabs caws and lays a curse on the bandit Raseri is fighting, eyeing him evilly.
Willsave: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4
Mabs uses evil eye hex on the bandit and he fails his save. -2 AC for 6 rounds.
Tobias: Kaveri tears into the bandit, savaging his legs. He seems to be bleeding pretty badly.
Sorry about that, You still have a full turn, just forgot to say what Kaveri did.
It is now now Tobias' turn, then Geoff and Charl, then the bandits, then Mable.
Sorry I haven't been updating you guys. My work decided to Give me extra hours during spring break and when I had time, was still having connection problems.
Anyway, will have more gameplay posts in a little bit.
Blaize: Four beds, two large chests, and a single table with four chairs occupy this room. Three windows look out to the east, west, and south, providing a grand view of the snowy gorge outside the lodge. Four bandits appear to be bedridden, coughing and sneezing with red faces, but slowly getting out of bed and reaching for weapons... Likely because of the noise in the main room. They don't appear to be combat worthy but they look determined. They haven't seen you.
Trying to post when I had time for about a week now. Website said either having technical difficulties or cannot reach server. Sorry about that.
Since I had time/not brain dead, been trying to log on for 2 days. Wouldn't load into my account.... Is the traffic that bad? Anyway, still trying to get college to run a little smoother, but I have a little bit of breathing room at the moment.
Geoff and Charl will delay their turns before right before the bandits take their turns, trying to see an opening for them to take advantage of.
Blaize can do a full turn now.
Mabs Swoops down and lands on the porch, fixing to do something next round.
Are you moving Mable?
Sorry for my inconsistent/short posts. In addition to my computer not cooperating, been trying to solve problems (no pun intended) for my college degree and playing catch up for a late addition I had to put in my curriculum. Will continue posting, but I may not be up to snuff for a while....
Sorry for the inconvenience guys.
Got my computer fixed! ^_^ Moved Raseri and waiting on Lies. Also, Tobias are those your actions for next round? It's a surprise round, so you can only do a move or standard action.
Sorry about the wait. Currently having computer troubles and had to post from phone. Can't change character position from phone. Might have computer fixed by tomorrow. Talk to you later.
Alrighty then. Surprise round.
Raseri kicks in the door of the cabin, and rushes in, Storhrid right on her heels. The Bandits barely have enough time to look in her direction as she thunders toward the closest bandit (of course on her initiative count).
Raseri Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Mable Initiative: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (1) + 0 = 1
Blaize Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Tobias Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Lies Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Geoff and Charl Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Mabs Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Bandits Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
...wow... low rolls all around...
Initiative Order:
Geoff and Charl, Blaize, Raseri, Lies, Mabs, Tobias, Bandits, and Finally Mable.
Geoff and Charl (Your friendly neighborhood bandits) circle around to opposite windows on either side of the cabin. One of them picks up the trap crossbow and detaches the rope on the way by.
Blaizes turn. Remember that it's a surprise round.
