Details are vague beyond the overarcing story so lots of room to mesh with others stories=)

Like it Yuugasa, considering being one of the 2 acolytes that saved you. With a similar modus operandi, it would make sense that we would have got on (maybe) if introduced. Gaius' story coming soon.

..........
.
.

So the forum just ate most of the editing and minor tweaks I made to this. I'm just going to post the raw.

Jovian Krylov:

Born to some of the guards on one of the older, and more lax Black ships doing a long loop on one of the backwater planets.
Grew up knowing exactly what happens to psykers and dealing with life on a working ship.
Signed up for the Imperial guard and sent off his papers only for a containment breach in the ship to occur.
A psyker in desperate attempt to escape became an unbound Daemon host. guards tried to stop it but they were slaughtered. Jovian shot it with a stolen pistol and was impaled on a ship wall by the demons telekinetic response.

After its escape Jovian was found on the ground unharmed. Unfortunately the ship cameras caught his impaling. Knowing the signs Jovans mother, now a Widow lost her son as well.

Great fifteenth birthday right there. But hey they were nearly to the Psykana offices already so next to now wait for the Pskyer training

the horrible, horrible psyker training.

Then a mistake. Jovian was sent to a minor conflict zone with a guard regiment but due to their Commisarr being
1. Incredibly old
2.mostly senile
They pulled his Guardsman credentials and Private Krylov was placed in the regiment under the belief he was a new recruit.
Not a walking portal to the warp.
Extremely underfunded and lacking an actual doctor the group of guardsmen Jovian found himself in were very quick to latch onto him when they realized he could heal people.
Jovian have an inbred and well taught terror of psykers found it next to impossible to actually channel the warp without some sort of lash back.
He was also a decent soldier excepting his utter ignorance on how to properly shoot a gun. the regiment in question, 547th planetary detachment referred to as the Sunshine regiment by the impromtu leader of the squad.
They kept the act up for six months before an inquisitor stopped to refuel and ripped the obvious tapestry of lies in half.
Inquisitor Groal, considered paranoid even by his fellows took Jovian and most of his better fellows to act as Acolytes.
He executed the rest and informed the Ordo offices of Commisaar's total incompetence.

Given a proverbial and literal gun to his head He helps the inquisitor and is gradually granted more trust.
Eventually working closely to the man, committing dark deeds in his masters name.
Watched as he was and made to choose his master's misisons over his friends lives until he was the last one left of those taken from the 'Sunshine' squad.
The psyker being given training by Groal's personal bodyguard, a Psykana blademaster.
Then he was shown more secrets, more dangerous knowledge and committed more acts for the inquisitor.

His severance package was three bullets to the chest, an eldar wire grenade that removes his right arm and left leg and a rather bumpy trip to the surface of a planet.
this planet being in the process of an Ork invasion.
Fortunately Groal underestimated the Psykers burning hatred, low cunning and utilitarianism though. He should have nuked the site from orbit.

The psyker entered atmosphere as he was slowly recovering his body, his biotic powers and a canister of Shock foam the only reasons he survived the planetary impact.
Then the Psyker woke up on a beach, wrecked pod near him and next to nothing remaining.
Fortunately While Orks possess low cunning, Inhuman strength and near impossible to fully put down. Fortunately they are denser than a sack of feral world farming tools.
An Ork would never expect a hummie to challenge them to a one on one battle with nought but fists. The could also never expect that same creature to win the engagement.

After some great time on the planet he finally returned to imperial space, returning in a ship of Ork nature that fled nearly as soon as it arrived in the space.

The psyker kept his experience and the betrayal of Inquisitor Groal close to the chest knowing that attempting to reveal it pointless. Immune as he was to psyker truth readings and interrogation never being a truly precision art any information he could give would be circumstantial at best.
(Then, unless we have the meeting occur earlier Jovian meets inquisitor Naraku who offers a position in her team. She get Jovian as a resource and they help him. Or whatever works.)

Linking thoughts.
1. Jovian would need someone to help him through Psyker training. He wouldn't be in a mindset conductive to surviving such challenges without a rather big push.
2. Our Gun-nun's first mission could be a linked interaction between the three of us. Perhaps Jovian's inquisitor loaned him to Inquisitor Naraku for one reason or another.
3. JonGarrets Tech priest could also be the one we would offload destroyed warp tek or other tech heresy off onto in order to be delivered to proper facilities for disposal.

We could have also all met at a Falafel shop and argued about its quality.

Scarab Sages

So, I went back through the board to find my rolls and...they weren't there. The forum apparently ate my post, which I'm generally very careful to avoid. So my apologies as I'd been operating under the assumption that I'd already done this, but here are my rolls:

1: 2d10 ⇒ (10, 9) = 19
2: 2d10 ⇒ (10, 10) = 20
3: 2d10 ⇒ (7, 8) = 15
4: 2d10 ⇒ (8, 10) = 18
5: 2d10 ⇒ (2, 1) = 3
6: 2d10 ⇒ (3, 9) = 12
7: 2d10 ⇒ (10, 10) = 20
8: 2d10 ⇒ (7, 9) = 16
9: 2d10 ⇒ (9, 6) = 15

Reroll 5: 2d10 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7

Wounds: 1d5 ⇒ 5
Fate: 1d10 ⇒ 9 3 Fate Points
Divination: 1d100 ⇒ 98 "There is no substitute for zeal." Increase Toughness and Willpower each by +2

Okay, that's a serious upgrade. Will finish up the character and post him up in the morning.

So I'm a little lost here, and if you could indulge me one last time and send any questions you have remaining in a single PM that be appreciated. The sheer number of questions, depth, and complexity has me googly eyed and I can't recall clearly who is who within aliases and who wants what.

So, if you have some remaining questions, please send me another email if I haven't answered or replied to your satisfaction yet, its a bit of a blur, I'm sorry, but its just the sheer scope of this game and freedom I've given in PC creation that is coming back to bite me in the ass. I'm not complaining, I'm just sorry for you guys if I've slowed your application down or not gotten to all your concerns. So please bear with me one last time and I will reply to ALL your concerns.

Please send them with your ingame Alias and try to use that from now on in communications.

Also, please reference any book or page if you have some elite advance or background question or custom anything that deviates from core. Just asking if you can have an advance might be ok, but if its normally not allowed by you, then tell me for sure what your current role is and what/why you want XXX.

Once that is done, post your application in the Discussion thread so I can start seeing what you have. Even if its just a rough draft, post what you have according to my sheet. It will help me immensly in considering your requests and viewing the larger picture, which you have, but so far I'm getting small glimpses in your PM and discussion here. Please try to help me see where your PC begins and ends so we can fill in the blanks together.

If you have a roughdraft, post in discussion what you have. If its a work in progress, just say so, and we will hold off discussion of it, it'll just help me to see where everyone is coming from in their questioning and requests. It will be a single place I can see any profile/alias and consider your concerns while looking at what you have so far without combing through the threads for bits and pieces here and there that might of changed or no longer apply.

Thanks again, things are shaping up nice and I like the discussion and rapport we have so far.

And of course, forgot to roll for Insanity and Corruption.

Insanity: 8d10 ⇒ (5, 3, 1, 5, 8, 2, 4, 9) = 37
Corruption: 8d5 ⇒ (2, 2, 1, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1) = 12

Going to start using in-game Alias from now on. This is the alias of aptinuviel for clarity purposes.

I posted my finalized application to the Discussion thread. I've left the character's background deliberately open to make it easier to hook up with other characters should he be chosen. I'm very open and flexible concerning how those happen.

On a side note: Whew...that was a ton of work! But still fun!

Edit: I also re-read the section on starting Insanity and Corruption. Phineus' adjusted Insanity and Corruption are as follows: (Taking the first three dice of my previous roll rather than all 8.)
Insanity: 9
Corruption: 5

Hey, 'tis Jon, rolling insanity and corruption.

Insanity: 4d10 ⇒ (4, 1, 8, 6) = 19
Corruption: 4d5 ⇒ (1, 4, 4, 5) = 14

Excellent choice of avatar Rakavet!

Posting with the Adepta, I'll update the stats in a second.

Also, that is indeed a fantastic choice of an avatar.

Yeah, it does nicely for his armoured "Praise be to the Omnissiah for the murderous storm of light and energy I am about to unleash" form. He actually looks pretty human, since most of augmentics are best quality, so it's mostly the sub-dermal plating and mechadendrites that give him away. I held off on the less subtle bits.

Forgot these!
8d10 -5d10 for Wp, +1 for transition
8d5 -5d10 for Wp
Insanity: 4d10 ⇒ (7, 6, 8, 3) = 24
Corruption: 3d10 ⇒ (3, 8, 7) = 18
Thoughts on Initiative, I'm taking Combat formation which lets everyone with me take my int bonus (currently 12 with unnat Int) instead of their agility, if they want. Just worth bearing in mind. Story and stats being finished tonight i hope, which will just leave kit.
please ignore Gaius' current sheet, it is old. New version is currently in a word document waiting to be moved over.

@Gaius
your corruption should be d5s. Well unless you want more corruption I doubt that our great and mighty GM would mind.

Gotta go outta town for the next three days, I know I'm already behind in making my character but hopefully when I get back I can knock it out quick=)

Edit: Or alternatively since she's going to have to use some house rules to represent being crippled and how she operates that will rely on some GM fiat you could stat her out in your free time BayouSnowman(if you've gotten any free time at all at this point=D) I'd be cool however you make her, you were always better at making characters than I was anyway=)

@Movin, thanks for the spot, late night!
Corruption: 3d5 ⇒ (1, 1, 1) = 3

Wow, significantly better! Or i can just divide the previous roll by 2 if that is more fair?

Assorted rolls
Divination: 1d100 ⇒ 86
Secret: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Also secret: 1d100 ⇒ 31

Additonal Insanity 1d10 ⇒ 7

Additional...things:2d10 ⇒ (4, 8) = 12
2d5 ⇒ (3, 5) = 8
1d10 ⇒ 7

Poking my head in. Looking for another game because one of my GMs seems to have flaked. You guys still doing recruitment?

Sorry, we are not.

Thank you!

I'm going to bow out, I just don't have the time right now. Good luck.

Roger that. Who hasn't completed their profile yet? Hopefully start after weekend? Atleast intro and getting people gathered, sound good?

All done except gear, should be able to get a lot of that done over the next couple of days. Will probably pm you tmrw, as i have a couple of ideas for stuff that i want to run past you first. After the wknd sounds good.

I'm replying to everyone in the discussion thread that looks finished. I'm going over your profile and double checking stuff for accuracy and cohesion, if some things don't make senes or you missed something I think you need or you've got to much equipment, I'll say so and give you time to adjust.

Doing this by PM to keep things a little private, don't want to call anyone out in front of others. But feel free to discuss for yourselves or get second opinions. It takes a while to go through a history and all your xp spent, so give me a few days and i'll get to you soon.

So far finished:
Phineus Faeyd

To do:
Everyone else.

Cool. I'm good and ready to start whenever. Heck, unless we absolutely need items and talents we could possibly start before that, especially if it's simply a mission briefing or meeting.

I'm gonna start working myself through the profiles and cleaning things up for people and getting things sorted and finish up the Inquisitors build. Should be done with it tom and hopefully others finish up ASAP and I can start conceptualizing how everyone will fit in and post an intro.

Once people are completed or nearly finished, then we can start. I'll try and think of how we could start sooner, may post something, just depends on how much time I got. Weekends are usually my busiest time, I'm off monday and tuesday, so I'm trying to get through things on Friday.

I'm excited to begin, as I'm sure everyone is. We're nearly there, so hold tight and get ready to enjoy. Everyone will be arriving seperately, unless you got some tight history with others, from wherever or whatever you were doing.

Oh, that reminds me, could you all put in your profile what Ordos you're from or primarily worked with...guess its not all that necessary to be dedicated to a single one, but I think it is important to know for your history. Can't explain the significance now, but might be important and I just don't know yet. If you haven't/can't, then won't matter too much, just gives you some history and a little context for your PC and his/her actions with others.

I was thinking Ordo Hereticus would be the best choice for the Inquisitor but I'm not dead set on anything specific.

I'll go with Malleus. I have a fondness for rending Daemons down to mush.

Going with Ordo Hereticus. Firstly, because Adepa Sororitas are usually affiliated with them, secondly, because of the Inquisitor, and, thirdly, because heretics is a broad term.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Everyone's a heretic if you try hard enough.

As my story is linkd in with the inquisitor, I will be going for the same as the Inquisitor. As long as that isn't xenos. Would be a bit wierd when i don't have the right forbidden lore!

1. 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (10, 4) + 20 = 34
2. 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (7, 6) + 20 = 33
3. 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (10, 8) + 20 = 38
4. 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (8, 4) + 20 = 32
5. 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (1, 7) + 20 = 28 replaced with re-roll
6. 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (4, 7) + 20 = 31
7. 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (10, 10) + 20 = 40
8. 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (6, 5) + 20 = 31
9. 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (4, 9) + 20 = 33

Re roll 1: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (9, 8) + 20 = 37

Just throwing out some rolls for the Inquisitor, building from ground up and thought I'd let the dice decide a few things. Not the greatest of rolls, but he's only human.

wounds

1d5 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

1d100 ⇒ 75
1d100 ⇒ 73
1d100 ⇒ 17
1d100 ⇒ 41

Some rolls needed to finish off Inquist. more to come.

Just sent a PM with the Inquisit. pretty muched finished, left a few choices and decisions for Yuugassa to make. Now that its finished, no idea it would take so long, so many powers and trying to be the player and the Gm, objectively, all took some extended thought. Now that its over, I can get back to your histories, connections, etc. Just need to get the ideas I've got down into PMs for you. Working on it.

Ok, so I hit up everyone's profile in discussion tab, most of the conversation should be over there, except for Jovian's incomplete profile, please keep your discussion here until you're finished and ready to move towards discussion board.

We got 5 solid profiles and one more coming in if Jovian catches up. Hope to kick it off by weekend and get us settled and inro'd, we can spend the next few days on final touches and history, ready for the game play to begin, afterwards, we are off and the last thing will be for me to award Fate Points.

I really don't see any spot in the group that my character could fufill at this point that isn't at least double covered by the rest of the group.

So I'm just going to withdraw. Far as I can see making a character mechanically strong enough to pull his own weight and not be a clone of someone else in this group right now is going to require a total scrapping of my concept.
My apologies for wasting your time.

Sorry you can't join us, welcome back if you find time to think of something later.

I think I should post this here, since you told us to keep this in the Recruitment thread.

I see.

About the skills, I also have Driving, Piloting and tomes, but with 24 starting Int and low-to-medium Fel, it's pretty hard to get the skills you'd want. I see that Command is a skill everyone seems to be sorely lacking in, so I'll pick that up as well. I'll remove some of the Talents so I can pick up Command and I'll probably delay some of the Faith Talents.

I got the Scrutiny, Search and Awareness at +20 from Observational Mastery, purchased with the 500XP in rank 9. If you dislike the Mastery Talents, I can rectify that as well.

The Blessed Wings were a set of Exitus pistols. I mentioned it earlier on in the thread, a set to trade for my Unique and Near Unique slot, and considering that I didn't get a reply, I decided, wrongly, that it's ok.

I understand how that'd be unbalancing and not make a lot of sense, though, so I'll re-work my gear slots. The Angelus bolter, I confess, didn't read the text on, and, Space Marine weaponry is something you usually attempt to avoid. Especially if it's illegal.

It's, if I recall correctly:

1 Unique,
1 NU,
2 ER
3 VR
and the others at free (within reason), isn't it?

As for gear from the order, I've only taken the standard equipment for a Palatine, A Cloak of St. Aspira, a Jump Pack as a Seraphim and the two weapon sets. The remaining pistols and gear was bought with normal requisitions.

As personal gear goes, see below.

I can put the Cloak into my normal requisition slot, if needed.

As a Unique set of gear, is it possible to acquire a twin-set of Modified Pistols? It's up to the GM to decide if it's ok, but I was thinking of either two Ripper Pistols (Rogue Trader, Into the Storm, page 113) with Targeters or two Wrath Plasma Pistols (Rogue Trader, Into the Storm, page 113), same upgrade.

As a Near-Unique, is it possible to get the Lathe-Wrought on my Sororita Armor? (Rogue Trader, Hostile Acquisitions, page 63) If not, would a Mantle of Ophelia (Heresy begets Retribution, page 10) be reasonable? I'm trying to keep my acquisitions away from the temptation of the radical and unholy, despite the incredibly tasty Eldar tech.

As Extremely Rare, I'd like to take a version of the pistol I didn't take as a set. I know I'm getting quite crazy about pistols, though, so a suggestion would be nice. If cloak needs to be in there as well, so be it, if not, I'll take a BQ Lingua-Vox Servitor, for translation and decryption.

As Very Rare, I'll take the Rosarius as a Common Quality, keep the Hexagrammatic Wards, if ok, and invest in her Library for several books, since, while they are in the 'below VR' category, I'm thinking about 7 or 8. I can see Federica as the person, who despite being far from the sharpest power blade in the armoury, tries her best to perform to the duties of a Palatine.

I'll also acquire Lumen-Heraldry (Rogue Trader, Hostile Acquisitions, page 63)

Library:

Rule of Sororitas: Grants +10 to all C. Lore Tests made on the subject of Ecclesiarchy, Heretics, Mutants, or the Adepta Sororitas.

Litanies of Faith: A complete copy provides +20 on Research involving C. Lore (Ecclesiarchy) and S. Lore (Imperial Creed).

Thorian Missal: An explorer with the Thorian Missal gains a +20 on C.Lore(Ecclesiarchy, Imp. Creed) and +20 on Scholastic Lore(Imp. Creed)

Maxims of Marquette: +10 on Barter and Charm to faithful Imperials.

Catechism of St. Drusus: +10 to Command, once per session (-10 Sch. Lore(Military Tactics to let people Delay as a Free Action)

Book of Saint Lucius: Once per session, +10 Fellowship test as 2 full actions to grant +20 to Fear and Pinning until end of encounter. If killed during the actions, -20 to Fear and Pinning.

Mefonte's Orthodoxy, +10 to Charm tests to Imperial Audiences.

BQ Data-Slate, in order to NOT have to carry an entire bookcase with her.

I'll also do my best to replicate Phineas' character sheet, which is incredibly well done, so, kudos to you.

Actually, I have command +20 and a pretty fair Fel, but it doesn't hurt to have someone else with it.
But if you want to save the xp I mean, you don't have to take it.

Missed the Charm Mastery, good point. I think that I'll keep it, just in case I need to shout at someone to patch you up.

Actually, Charm mastery doesn't contain Command, but I bought that separately.
Considering working towards that paragon leadership talent, forget the name right now.

Ok, I don't see Driving in your alias skills but it'll be good if you have it. Your pilot (personal) is only helpful to yourself, if you get options for piloting other things that'd be useful to everyone. Your BS is pretty high, maybe drop an advance or two and invest in other things. Just an idea, free to do as you wish.

You can have either pistol pair you want and a single of the other for your unique slot. The exitus pistol ammo is NU and would've bene taxing to use regularly. On the topic of ammo, you might consider picking up some varied types, could be useful, though its their simple, might just be able to get them when we arrive, but you seem like the kind of gall who BYOB "bring your own bullets"

Armor:
Lathe-wrought seems a little off for you, just b/c your sisters wouldn't be so cool and that'd be hard to explain...I think the Mantle of Ophelia is a good fit.

Everything else looks good, you can choose on the other things I didn't address above. Library fine.

I was thinking for at least one set of equipment I could maybe have a homebrew group of psi sensitive crystal rings so that each party member could have one that would let me speak telepathically with over any distance using my power without having to risk rolling.

Basically it would just be a psionic communication link, but I am willing to use any one of my equipment slots to get the rings.

I've go drive (grd vehicle) and pilot (civ craft and space craft) but without any further levels. I kind of had a thought that we might need a second driver whilst you lot were all shooting!! But was definitely only thinking of being the spare on that, perhaps more theoretical knowledge than practical. Would certainly be good if you are able to pick up some of the others (hover, walker etc). If there are any you can't get, i think i can so i could swap mine.

@Bayou did you get my PM regarding gear? Wasn't sure i had done it right and just looking for an idea or 2. I put down a lot of stuff, obviously can't carry it all (certainly with Str 25) had an idea that Gaius would have a room full of junk, and would always be trying to find stuff, but has a lot of tech.
Also infused knowledge i can get at lvl 10, but i love a bargain! Might lower my medicae skills (not sure though) as we already have 2 others with high skills there.

Thanks. I'm still working on making a few things clearer and easier to check, I just haven't had too much time this week to make a lot of alterations. But I'm open to suggestions to help with clarity!

Also, that is a serious amount of Command. Between that and the decent amount of perception skills I think you'll make for pretty useful muscle. Sometimes it's tough to branch out from that, but in this case you're at least good at seeing threats coming. A 63 Awareness when you can see something coming is no joke. Your character may end up being a bit bored when people start getting all technical or academic (though she seems well prepared for at least some of that). But I think as long as there's a distinction between you being bored and your character being bored, it should be fine. (I've been known to play a meathead in a highly academic group before. They can be a lot of fun even when your character is feeling useless. Just as long as *you* don't.)

Quick question, how do you change the colour of your text?, trying to sort my character sheet out.

The blue is "ooc" text. So ['ooc]text here['/ooc].
And it will look like this.

Below your text box should be a "How to format your text". There's a couple of cool things you can do hidden in there.

Got the inquisitor finally finished with rest of stuff detailed, so looks like we are all nearly done and ready to dive in.
