It came up in our “in person game” today. Dim light does not cause d/a on attack rolls. Just perception checks.

So apologies for not being all over the rules like a good DM should be. I'm relatively new to 5e, after years and years of Pathfinder and 3.5, and 2e before that. I have read the rulebooks, and check them regularly, but often when I think I know what I'm doing I'm actually applying some former edition's ideas to 5e. I'm not doing it on purpose or trying to mess with anyone, just still finding my feet! And thanks for being understanding. Again, I encourage people to shout out when I'm applying the rules incorrectly.

No worries at all, its impossible to play a complex system without some mistakes, even if you know all the rules inside and out (which I don't either). As Dan can attest, I make some huge assgaping blunder at least once a week probably.
Its nice to be in a group where people do not get judgmental about it! I've been in games on these boards where players actually left because of rules mistakes the DM made (not ones I was running thankfully)...its like get a life.
Its nice to settle things but no need to get worked up about it! Just oops and move on.

I’ve been playing for years as well and I’m still finding clarifications and new rules that I’ve missed or misinterpret.

Same here...or I get it confused with an older rule...it happens and all you can do is roll with it (pun intended!!)
You're doing a great job GM Hewy!! I am loving this game more than most of the others I am in!

Hi folks. We're at a bit of a standstill, and normally I'd bot Sorin by now, but she's at a bit of a decision point - keep chasing the fleeing enemy, or let it go. So I'd rather not make that decision. I'm sure Sorin will be back sooner rather than later. It could be just that I haven't made it plain enough that Sorin's yet to act. Anyhoo, I'm sure we'll be moving again shortly :)

Hey folks, I've finally updated the area map at the top of the page. The current map is super crappy, bare bones, I hope you can make out where you are and where you've been (which to be fair, isn't very far in this section). You're currently at the edge of the big blue bit :) I'll improve it as we go, but hope that helps a little bit.

Hi folks. It's not a huge problem, but I'm looking to get the posting rate up a little bit. I know that I've been a bit hit and miss with my posting sometimes lately, and I suspect that's why the overall rate has dropped off a little. So I'm going to do my darnedest to make sure I post at least once a day, hopefully more if I have more to work with, and push the action a little harder.
My hope is that doing so will stimulate more posting from you guys as well. To be fair, most of you are pretty good most of the time, which I really do appreciate, and whenever some of you aren't posting that much I totally understand that life might be getting in the way. However, if I can push it a bit hopefully that will inspire you all to be more active as well. I encourage you all that if you see an opportunity to push the action along, go for it. All of you are very mature and tolerant players, so I'm sure you don't need to worry about your companions getting upset if you make a unilateral decision, particularly if no one else has put forward a plan.
Like I said, it's not a big problem, I just want to ensure that none of you get bored with the game, and there's a bigger chance of that happening if it's dragging a little bit. For the most part, just keep doing what you're doing, and hopefully I can inspire you all to push the action along with me :)
Also, if you feel strongly that the pace is just fine or you don't want it to move any quicker, let me know that too.

Sorry gang, I've not had time to get a map together, but I do now, so working on it - expect a post very soon!
EDIT: Okay, crappy map up! If anyone happens to check out the room map linked at the top of the page before I get my next gameplay post up, please feel free to move yourself around. Once my next post goes up, you'll be where you are now.

For weapons and armor from the monsters, did you want me to go ahead and fill out their half price amount as if we could sell them? I know sometimes it is questionable if mundane weapons and armor dropped by monsters is sell-able.
edit: looks like a bunch of stuff was never claimed from previous fight, such as 2 superior healing potions. I tried to write in names based on gameplay posts for the most recent one.

Ahhhh, uni. I’m in that same struggle at the moment. 1 year to go.

Things have definitely slowed, not helped by me being extremely busy at the moment and not posting terribly frequently. I am, however, very keen to continue, and without giving too much away I think I can reveal that you're about to enter the final phase of this particular dungeon crawl.
Can we do a check-in to see who's still around and keen? If you're not keen to continue playing, just let us know, better for us to know than to hang around waiting for someone who's not coming back!
I'll send Beerg a PM, see if he responds.

Back all. Sorry. Ready to go.

Heading to my yearly duck camp today and wont be posting till likely monday. You may bot me if needed.
If we get into a fight his stats are in his crunch. He has two rage left until a long rest.

Back again all. Massive apologies. I’ve been at uni for the week doing intensive 13 hour days of study to fit some units in I missed last year. Should be back on deck in between family, full time work, and this newly acquired research project my professor has kindly given me... :)

Hi everybody, sorry for the lack of communication for the past few weeks. I've been away, and have had only my phone. While this made it tough to GM, I should have kept you all informed. I hope none of you have lost interest in the game in the meantime. I'll resume regular posting in the next 24 hours.
Apologies again, folks. And yes, you're not far from the end of this module!
