Sam is right about the run action you need a straight line.

Run

I suppose we'll do it by the book in future encounters.

One more screw up lol. Zombies should always be staggered. Ignore that attack roll.

Male Half-Elf Arcane Duelist 4 | HP 8 / 34 | AC 17; T 13; FF 15 | CMD 20 | F +3; R +7; W +6 | Init +2 | Per +8

I'm okay with my actions regardless. Putting myself in place to attract the zombies and begin Inspire Courage was higher priority.

Yeah, I'd thought that was how run worked. Live and Learn I suppose.

Question : Should I roll 2 AoO's for the zombies? Presuming that if the first does go down, the second would have continued moving adjacent to Damien now that there was space?

Yup I'll take both rolls. The second one drops a zombie.

the rules are more like guidelines

Looks like you guys have to decide, either fight your way up to the enemy or draw them down to you.

The Exchange

Got an exam Friday. Please bot Jerrid if you need to.

Cheers

Will do, good luck on exam.

Might have wanted to save that channel for the horde of undead about to pile down on us Leo.

Also, just be aware in your current position you're likely to bear the brunt of an orcish charge any minute here. One space to the left might be a smarter choice :P

Excellent!

For the record DMG, Kev and Sam have the barkskin effects.

By my estimation, I have 8-10 rounds of mirror image left, sound about right to you?

What is you take on an invisible character letting someone pass through their square by flattening themselves against a wall? Is there a roll to avoid the other character, would it work at all?

My take is that it just works, 5' is bigger than it looks on a battle map. One square is like a bedroom in brooklyn lol.

Stealth is the roll but invisible take ten will beat these mooks.

I have no idea about the mirror image but the only time we were off initiative count was for 1 min 30 seconds while Jerrid looked up the name Mhazoul and everyone regrouped.

So you have like 13 rounds of combat plus 1.5 minutes = 3.6 minutes spent

Male Half-Elf Arcane Duelist 4 | HP 8 / 34 | AC 17; T 13; FF 15 | CMD 20 | F +3; R +7; W +6 | Init +2 | Per +8

There being 10 rounds a minute, I think you mean 2.8 min currently used, 12 rounds left?

And that's great news about the invisibility. I've heard some people claim it's not possible at all so I just wanted to make sure we're on the same page.

Sorry math is hard. Yup same page.

Male Half-Elf Arcane Duelist 4 | HP 8 / 34 | AC 17; T 13; FF 15 | CMD 20 | F +3; R +7; W +6 | Init +2 | Per +8

No Worries.

One last question, if Damien were to cast invisibility, his mirror images would also be invisible for the duration of the spell, correct?

Absolutely.

Thanks! Post incoming.

There is the question of what happens to your light spell when you vanish though.

Invisibility wrote:

Light, however, never becomes invisible, although a source of light can become so (thus, the effect is that of a light with no visible source).

Sam's smoke will help make this less obvious but there is basically going to be a light shining from nowhere.

Sam do me a favor and format your dice rolls as separate line items like everyone else does. I know we've talked about this more than once over the years.

Also, everyone, please remember to use a header when you post your turn. Not for talking, free actions, ooc posts, just once per turn.

It's no biggie now but it will be a deal breaker when my work schedule gets busy. Get in the habit now :)

See Vhillish and Damien for how it's done (sorry if I forgot anyone, but those two are very consistent).

Hmm, what's the light situation upstairs where the cultists are anyway?

Now that I'm thinking about it, I think we may have screwed up. The light on Damien's ring was cast by Leo all those months ago.

Technically it should have shut off as soon as Leo cast it again on Janna's ring? Though I think it all works out as we had the fire from Vortigern's lightning bolt to illuminate things at least a little.

Lol, gotcha.

Upstairs has arrow slits so it's illuminated. Just the basement is dark and dank.

I will work on tracking and being more clear about lighting conditions.

My bad.

We're in decent shape now though. Dim light trickling down stairwell from upstairs, Janna's ring lighting up the basement room.

Hey Sam, don't forget to break up your rolls by line.

And that's okay Vhillish, Jerrid can still attack from where he is if the orc's move forward, it'll just have cover.

I literally just asked him that after his last post. Sam you aren't replying to me here in discussion or via PM. I feel like I'm asking nicely and you're just ignoring me. Please acknowledge that you're receiving my communications.

I have time to pick through those long strings of characters now for your results, but I'm trying to get good habits up so when my work schedule increases I can keep running this game without burning out.

If it's impossible I will just let it go.

So would it be a move action or a standard to bar the door? I'm assuming the bar is attached to one of the doors so just needs to be swung down? Or do I need to grab it from one of the squares next to the door first?

Edit: Nevermind, saw your updated post :)

I will soon have my head back in the game. Thanks for botting me DM Grimmy. I think you know same almost as well as I do.

Missed you guys as well as our DM. I will soon be giving this game the attention it deserves, which is quite a lot.

I will be breaking up the posts by line. Posting on my phone to keep the game moving, it takes some time to break them up by line. Maybe I need that cool Wayfinder app everyone is using these days.

Ok I will work on taking time with my posts too. I've been making several rules mistakes (thanks for the help on that guys).

I did by the Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition on Steam over the holidays.

For under $20 it has taken me back to when I completed BG1 so many years ago. Best Computer RPG there was, though Neverwinter Nights was close.

I was so disappointed with the enhanced editions of BG II and ToB. Next time I play it it will be the old god original game.

I've not tried out the enhanced editions. What did they mess up? I was under the impression they're mostly just a graphical update, and bug fix with some extra content added on. Did they really change the game itself?

Well, I was excited about the new characters, but they were quite uninteresting. The new adventures are worth playing at least once though.

was wondering if your new fey game will have any connection to this one.

Poor Janna has lost all of her friends that were in the other games in the past.

New fey game O.o

I'd not been keeping an eye on the recruitments to avoid overcommiting. But the chance to play in another of your games. That might be hard to pass up!

Oh you rolled a 22. I'll fix when I get home. Btw guys I'll be on mobile all day tomoro and most of next day. Going to Brooklyn. I'm sure I'll find a way to post though I'm constantly thinking about DND lol.

Unfortunately, no the fey game is in Midgard it's a totally different setting.

I have to be careful not to bite off more than I can chew although the multi-table sandbox was always my PBP dream :D it was tooons of work.

Male Half-Elf Arcane Duelist 4 | HP 8 / 34 | AC 17; T 13; FF 15 | CMD 20 | F +3; R +7; W +6 | Init +2 | Per +8

Yeah, it's the kind of thing you'd want to try one you retire maybe. Could be the only way you'd have enough time :P

But you are open to submissions from your current players? One of my games send to have leveled out to about two posts a week so I have a spot open in my gaming schedule. I've been doing to try out the path of war stuff now that I have the books for it myself.

I would say go for it and come say hello in the fey thread. Nicos and BlackDow have been hanging out.

I do get a bit weird during recruiting and worry about hurt feelings. I would say the best thing in the end is come on by and check it out. I'm going to run a tavern thread for IC RP and just pretend I don't know who's posting and wait til I can see a party in my minds eye.

I'm just afraid I'll see an awesome party forming of several same players here lol. You lot do have a way with characters. Then I might say sorry guys I'm gonna do all new blood on this one. If that happens I'll probably cook up something else for later.

It's a different sort this fey adventure. Very heavy on skill checks and social. Like you could probably go from one level to the next without a kill.

OTM-Shank I always foresaw the multi-table thing back in the day leading to brutal tactics-heavy RA runs with raiding parties culled from the various groups. This WA group just turned into something better than that in a way with the inter-party dynamics being the focus.

I still would love to find time to run a meat grinder of a fast posting dungeon bash though, but this fey game ain't that..

I think you guys will dig what I have lined up for you after this Eralion's Keep business. I've hijacked some modules together to serve the slavers storyline. Golden Palms trading company was it? Slightly more linear stuff I've prepped. Overland travel will be more abstracted than I did before so we can get from plot point to plot point quicker.

So many games I would run if I could just keep the dang rules straight and figure out how to keep everything cloud accessible from mobile lol.

Male Gnome Gunslinger (Bolt Ace archetype) 4 | HP 27/39 | Init +3 (+5 w/Grit) | Perc +10 (Low Light Vision) | AC: 19 T: 15 FF:15 | CMD: 16 | Fort +6 Ref +7 Will +3 | Grit: 2/2

Grimmy et al: Just posted on the fey recruitment bowing (gracefully) out lol.

My vision of the minotaur concept really wasn't aligning with the skill check/social heavy theatre that the fey game promises. His voice would have been very fun and interesting to develop.

Let the new blood and old hands with a better fits than I run with it :)

Regardless looking forward to seeing how the adventure's of this motley crew develop under your stewardship DMG.

ah BD if u change your mind I'll keep that recruitment open for a while. Could really see the original idea, Minotaur cav working. Especially the bard-like archetype that trades out the mount.
