OK, some kind of brainfart I guess probably while I had the smart idea of trying to run like 4 games at once 0_o
I think it was a 9 day ritual with wheat and rainwater to make a village woman get pregnant, but the quest to fix it can be later. Normal pregnancy timeframe.
Also if you guys don't go to that dungeon, Janna could tell the other group to get those artifacts when they go there, if they can find that section. I guess Janna and Lilia are pen pals via some magic doohicky from that school in Reme.

Alright, on to the shopping.

Mwk Light Mace
Mwk Thieves' Tools
Rapier x5
Shortbow x7

Total Sell Value : 1453.5gp I've left the items on the equipment sheet for now if anyone wants to check my math.
Total + Money already on Hand : 1916.5gp
Provided we're giving Lannet a share, that's around 240gp each. And I suppose that also raises the question of Astor rejoining us. Though I doubt DMG intends for him to continue on with us.
Personally I wouldn't worry about it in those terms. Personally I think the best plan might be for each of us to post things we personally think should be purchased and work it out from there based on what's best for the group.
Sound good to you guys?
Damien "Wet" Winters
My personal suggestions would include :
A silver weapon for at least Kev, Sam, myself and probably Jerrid.
A masterwork greatsword for Kev. Possibly a masterwork Arbalest for the Deputy as well.
More silver weapon blanch, works great on ammunition.
Masterwork chain shirt of Studded Leather for Sam, boost AC or decrease ACP.
Perhaps we should set aside some for Leo to scribe a scroll or two as we go, just in case?
It's hardly a large expenditure but we should make sure we stock up on rations as well.
What would you guys suggest?
Janna - The Storm Maiden
I updated the loot sheet for Janna, it should be accurate now.
DM Grimmy
Janna got a letter from the other group.
Where to begin? Well, I received a knock on the door from a very ...confident halfling this morning, of a Springheel lineage. I wish I were not here to answer, but that's another story. This Springheel informed me that another friend of mine, Lucia, had been killed in an adventure the two of them had recently embarked, I can't lie, it took me several moments to gather my thoughts, and I'm barely functioning as is, so apologies if I'm scatterbrained today.
The devil of it is the way Springheel said they were ambushed. An evil cult of some demon called Orcus ambushed them as they were following up on a missing head off a statue of Muir. Apparently the cult had demons and summoned frog men among the normal human cultists. It sounded like a bloodbath. There was one other survivor, a priest of the Muir faith, named Ares Valorn. The three of us, along with another have been retained by the church to investigate further the prior circumstances. I feel as if I owe Lucia this much.
So, currently I am on a 12 mile hike to the City of Ashes. As you might remember, I'm not huge on exercise, so I'm trying to keep a strong presentation up for the new people I am with. We'll see how long that facade holds up.
Hope things are going well. I'll update you if we find something out.
Yours,
Lilia

Probably just split the money up and everyone can buy what they want or pocket the change right?
Damien "Wet" Winters
Damien, you probably already know this but the gemstones spend at full value you don't have to sell them or anything. They are money.
Yep, already factored in! Thanks for the reminder though :)

We can do that too if people want?
I figured this would be more in keeping with our current philosophy on loot. Plus, our shares aren't currently enough to cover things like masterwork weapons.
Anyway, it's the party's money, what do you guys suggest?
Janna - The Storm Maiden
I buy MW tools for spellcraft and knowledge religion, and a Ioun torch. 180 gp total, the rest I give to someone else that need it.
what? there's tools for spellcraft and knowledge skills?

Not sure actually, it is like DM territory, Devs posts say yes though.
Janna - The Storm Maiden
Action
Usually none. In most cases, a Knowledge check doesn't take an action (but see “Untrained,” below).
Retry? No. The check represents what you know, and thinking about a topic a second time doesn’t let you know something that you never learned in the first place.
Modifiers
Training You cannot make an untrained Knowledge check with a DC higher than 10.
Equipment (Library) If you have access to an extensive library that covers a specific skill, this limit is removed. The time to make checks using a library, however, increases to 1d4 hours. Particularly complete libraries might even grant a bonus on Knowledge checks in the fields that they cover.
kind of infers that there are no tools, except a library which cannot be carried around.
DM Grimmy
I kinda don't like it Leo, can't see it in my head... I guess could be some kind of instrument for spell craft. Actually yeah I'm ok with spell craft, I can see it in my head now.
For knowledge, ummm... so many cool libraries in this setting, let's go with Janna's quote on this one. So no masterwork tool for knowledge checks. But spell craft ok.
DM Grimmy
And I suppose that also raises the question of Astor rejoining us. Though I doubt DMG intends for him to continue on with us.
I was thinking Astor goes straight to infirmary for detox from blue lotus blossom.
Hey guys can you imagine if that fight never broke out? He would have walked right by on to Crimmor. Almost happened. I was at my friends house that night asking her what to do when the diplomacy was succeeding, she was cracking up. She said I had to let them take Astor, anything else would be meta.
Damien "Wet" Winters
Ok, I change to 4 holy water, 2 alchemical fire and the iount torch for 225 gp.
Sounds good Leo, I'll update the sheet.
How about mundane items?
Edit : Oh, and it's only 215gp :)
Leoven.
Damien "Wet" Winters wrote:Hey. Don't buy this guys. Trust me.]
A masterwork greatsword for Kev.
Besides food I can not think on a mundane item that leoven would want to carry around. BEsides I do not have the strenght, otherwise some bear traps would be cool.

Yeah but this party has crappy health insurance coverage, he will probably be discharged in less than a week.

For one you're already well into a medium load so I wouldn't worry too much about weight.
Second, so Leo sleeps on the bare bottom of the tent? Drinks only by creating water into a cupped hand? Eats faith alone? Carries all his money in his boot? Shivers quietly if no one is around to start a fire for him? Stuffs all his flasks into his shirt?
I don't think it's super important, just a few things to think about :P

Lol.
Also, that sounds good to me DMG!

I think that stuff is super important, when I can see the picture in my head I get more ideas.
Like I start writing "everyone eats a rabbit stew in vhillish's iron kettle" and by the end of the post I'm like "it would be cool if the agents have astor and they run into the party and etc.". Without the iron pot I would have just rolled a random encounter. 4 goblins whoopdy do.
If I can see the picture, I get ideas. Smells tastes and colors help too.
Leo was with one of those caravans when you guys met him at waystation. I pictured him like a young friar you know what I mean? They take him along to bless the expedition or whatever. So he has like literally nothing.
But it is fall the ground is pretty cold.
Damien "Wet" Winters
Lol, nice call on the greatsword :P
So you would also suggest I wait on getting the materials to masterwork my own weapon?
As far as equipment, having nothing when we picked Leo up makes sense. Thinking about it, he does rather seem the type to stuff flasks of holy water down the front of his tunic :P
Jerrid Kinslarn
Jerrid enters the Inn for food, he carries a sack of bits and pieces he has bought. He sidles into a high seat by the window and watches outside.
"Shandril had bad news. Her Crucible has been stolen, probably by an imp. That imp then went on to the shrine of Bowbe and peed around but left a rag of the unholy symbol of Orcus."
He asks Glarian for a meat pie and then another and a small beer. He pays for that and a room.
"I want a few days to rest and recover to watch Vorgya before we leave for the Keep. I'm looking for a wizard for magicks to learn as well as a silvered weapon."
The gnome uses a knife to clean dirt from under his long sharp nails. The snake, Medus, licks at the meat gravy gently while he is busy.
Damien "Wet" Winters
So what's next guys? You want to have a RP scene at the Cockatrice so Kev and Leo and Janna and Jerrid can tell Damien and Samduc and Vhillish what they found out from Shandril?
Maybe chat about WTF is going on a bit?
Other than that the keep looks like the next thing on the agenda right?
Should be the keep to the best of my knowledge. Haven't actually talked to the others but from following along, it sounds like Shandril and the others are unwilling to do anything about Vorgya until we return.
Vhillish Quarrelwick
Sorry about the slow posting guys - work's been busy then one of my offshore guys managed to graciously pass on his winter flu to me - so I sit here typing with a head full of snot and lungs of fire...
Forgive me if I'm MIA for the next few days - will try and post, but likely not too detailed as I'm a dead (Scots)man shuffling right now.
Damien "Wet" Winters
Hey Kev, would you prefer a silver shortsword or longsword?
While far better (Damage + 2 hand-able), the longsword is also a fair bit more expensive. Probably worth the trade off for you if it weren't for your smite. Against big bads with DR, you'll just ignore it anyway so the silver weapon is far more of a backup option in your case.
Vhillish Quarrelwick
Vhillish will definitely purchase a couple of Silver Weapon Blanches and a Ghost Salt Blanch , to compliment the Cold Iron Blanch he already has.
Total for those would be 30GP
As for the remainder he'll likely put towards MW up his Arbalest?
Considering as an interim to the above perhaps the purchase of 10 off MW Bolts (61GP cost)...
Jerrid Kinslarn
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Might want to move that over to the other thread Jerrid :P
Sick daughter and very busy wife heading towards a week when hopefully I can avoid dumb mistakes like this. Get well soon BDow.
I'll try to work out some purchases over the next few evenings.
Cheers

No need for that Deputy. Even after 4 silver shortswords, I should easily have enough money to help you get that Arbalest!
Damien "Wet" Winters
Technically speaking that depends. Does Lannet get a share? What about Astor?
Depending on those factors, we have between 212-273gp each from selling our collected loot.
I think we agreed to give Lannet a share. So we'll have at most 239.5gp.
Honestly, I'm really not sure what to do with Astor. I can only assume he's leaving the group, right DMG?
In that case, he's already taking a +1 shortsword and +1 arrows with him. We could simply say that those are his share and keep to to a division of 8 for our money. Sound good guys?
