It's true, I imagine the cloak would be far more useful. Though I don't know how available such a thing might be in this campaign. Guess we'll just have to hope we get lucky.
I'm just hoping we can find a couple silver weapons in fairhill.

The module does have a standard game mastery guide style settlement block for Fairhill. I know the Frog God guys don't use those abstracted buying and selling rules in their games but for mundane equipment, alchemical items, potions etc. I'm totally fine with it happening automatically off-screen during down time. Just for gods sake people tell Damien so the gold doesn't get spent twice or not spent at all.
Base Value 450 gp; Purchase Limit 2,500 gp; Spellcasting 3rd
Minor Items 2d4; Medium Items 1d4; Major Items —
For magic items in Fairhill I'm tracking what merchants are in town using the "What Does the Merchant Have Anyway" pdf's from French Wolf's alma mater Raging Swan.
There is actually a problem on the tradeway right now limiting traffic from Bard's Gate.
Jerrid Kinslarn
I had a look at the spreadsheet and somehow managed to update Jerrid. My only question is why is a +1 sickle 4806gp? There must be a reason because its a pretty exact figure. But at the moment Grimmy you have far too much on your plate to answer this. Lets just shelve it for in a week's time when hopefully your life will be more normal.
Cheers
Andy
Samduc Dawnbringer
I think it was created specifically for Jerrid, but I can't remember the bonuses it had.
it is around 4800+
+1 weapon with auto masterword = 2300
+5 to a skill item = 2500
cost of sickle = 6
So I think that gets us there.

Ugh what an ordeal today. Burying people is extra hard when the ground is frozen :/
Sorry if my tone was a little off this morning I had this anxiety that there was going to be conflict about loot division.
FYI, I still consider this party way behind WBL even though everyone has a 3000-ish GP share, which looks right by the WBL table, because, check it out, in an AP everyone would have nearly double that (if they found everything), reason being, the AP's drop enough gear for everyone to be at WBL after they sell things for half and buy what they want.
So by paizo standards, you guys are not up to WBL. Random items you didn't hand pick for your build is not the same as being at WBL. But that's ok for now, it's plenty hard already to challenge such a big party :) Especially now that you guys are fighting together like a well oiled machine compared to when we started.
There is a vault in the keep that will put you at true WBL equivalency (if you find it) but that's ok too, you'll need it, trust me.

Alright, on the topic of our newly acquired loot. We should decide what to do with it all.
Sam and Jerrid should naturally each take a set of masterwork thieves' tools.
The ring of protection should either go to Kev or Leo in my estimation. I'd lean towards Kev even though she already has good AC because she tends to attract far more attention.
As for the cloak of resistance, I'd suggest giving it to either Leo or myself. Both of us have abilities that buff the rest of the party or remove conditions so it's important to avoid having us incapacitated by a failed save.
I think Kev is the only one capable of using the masterwork longbow so it should be hers.
Leo should take the masterwork crossbow. Or I can if you don't want it?
I'd say we sell the remaining masterwork items?
We can split the rations between us.
The scrolls of CLW should be Leo's.
The scroll of dispel is probably best in Janna's hands.
Sam should take the potion of invisibility.
And lastly, the potions of CLW should go to Janna, Sam and Vhillish in my estimation as none of them have healing of their own.
Let me know what you guys think? These are just my basic thoughts.
Edit : Oh, Leo. You should look over the mundane items. You might be able to pick up some of the stuff you we're going to buy anyway!
Leoven.
As for the cloak of resistance, I'd suggest giving it to either Leo or myself.
I already have a resistance bonus to saves, the cloack is useless to me.

Glad you made it through the day alright Grimmy. These things are always hard.
Now in other news : treasure vault you say? :D
And don't stress too much, I don't think we've ever had real problems with loot distribution. More just people getting used to the bookkeeping. Giving items to whoever can get the most mileage out of them has always been our system and it seems to be working well.

Right, from your domain!
Anyone think of a better candidate than Damien then?
Janna - The Storm Maiden
ok Janna has the scroll of Dispel magic and a potion of CLW right..
sounds good to me.
If unclaimed Janna could use the cloak of resistance...but only if it isn't better served on someone else.
EDIT for spell inventory... Janna did not have to use another magic missile on anyone correct? (from the final round )

Excellent, that is what my players do at home. I was just afraid it would make problems for you guys since you might be used to the "sell everything and buy what you want" paradigm which is not part of the assumptions of this campaign.
I often forget that I didn't have a detailed first post in the recruitment thread for this group explaining these things, the way I have in subsequent recruitments. You guys were my first (and best) and I learned a lot along the way about how unusual my games are in some respects compared to how the game is normally played. In hindsight there are things like "no WBL fairy, no magic mart" that should have been in the very first post of recruitment, but I hope at this point you all know the deal and still want to be here.
As for the book-keeping, what is bugging me is I still feel like not everyone is on board with the spreadsheet thing, but for lack of a good alternative at this point I just feel like come on guys let's embrace it. Especially since there's a bunch of undivided gems and junk in a party fund. Sure paper works fine at my table at home, but this is really just the digital equivalent of that piece of paper. The fact that it happens to tally things and do the encumbrance math for us can hardly be seen as a drawback. It's a plus really.
Edit Correct Janna, no magic missile fired, Kev's AoO took down the rider before she got anywhere.
Damien "Wet" Winters
Yeah, we're dishing out the potions but most of us can't use the scrolls so they should stay with Leo for easy access.
I'd be fine with Kev taking the cloak, my only thought was that she already has the best saves in the party. That said, "she who smites evil" is likely to be a vampire lord's first choice for domination...
DM Grimmy
Well, CLW is on the pally spell list so it's a really easy check to use the scroll even for pallys who can't cast yet.
It's on the bard list too, but not sure if that get's weird with it being divine scroll when bard is arcane caster. Don't think it matters though.
Scrolls in general are surprisingly easy UMD I think.
But yeah I guess only Leo can use them without a check.

Hey folks - am absolutely slammed at work at the moment - so just keeping up with the game let alone posting is a stretch.
Will try and get something in-game when I can, but please DMPC as necessary. Hopefully things will calm down a little by the weekend at the latest!
Cheers

18 posts huh.
We do treasure far better than most of my other games, it is more of a testament because of the value and number of items. I've never played a greedy character, personally treasure does not float my boat.
And I am old school enough to still feel uneasy about the pathfinder approach to magic marts and how important they are to encounter design.
cheers

I'm going to do something a little different with the treasure vault in the keep. Instead of deciding what is in there, I'm going to give you guys a each a budget of 3,000 GP, and you decide what you find for your character in the vault.
That will make things a little more like standard pathfinder for a level or two but the wackiness will be back guys. Whether we end up in Rappan Athuk or Slumbering Tsar the no shopping and wacky WBL are baked right into those adventures, guys, it's not just me it's the authors too.
Tsar goes from 7th to 20th in a wasteland with the only nearby settlement is a tiny camp with very low base value and purchase limit, and you can only use their currency, an Iron Bit with an exchange rate of 5 gold coins for Iron Bit. You can't spend gold there you have to buy the Iron Bits from the Usurer.
Rappan Athuk goes from 6th-20th in a wilderness and mega-dungeon with again only a tiny settlement with low base value and spending limit. Merchants come through on Keel Boats but they have specific lists of gear, not everything in CRB or UE.
Even when teleport comes online, we are not in Golarion. The big cities have named NPC's you can buy from, again with specific lists of items or tables for what they have to buy and sell, and they have to be discovered through the role-play. The whole paradigm of liquidating what you don't want and converting it to what you want during down time just isn't part of the assumption of this campaign.
Damien "Wet" Winters
Yeah, I'm a big fan of treasure but I'm hardly stressing about WBL. We are doing alright as far as I'm concerned.
The one thing I'd like to ask about is the pathfinder specific equipment. The lists of what is and isn't available aren't written for pathfinder as I understand it and we're not using item creation feats for the most part. Does this mean the majority of the pathfinder items without a 3.5 counterpart will be unavailable or are there any plans to mix them in?
Janna - The Storm Maiden
super busy night tonight..lots to do at work. I hope I can catch up tonight otherwise I may not be available until tomorrow afternoon sometime.

Well everything is already updated to PF except the city of Bard's Gate, and as far as that goes a.)if you meet a crafter she crafts according to PF rules obviously b.) I already supplemented the city with all the raging swan merchant pdf's which are PF c.) I own ultimate equipment and sprinkle from it
There is some treasure around you just can't plan a build around something specific you want like sam every time we get to any kind of settlement going "can I haz elf cloak now?" dude all they sell in this town is wagon wheels!!!!! ok not really but you get what I mean? :D
I'm off to work too, theatre production.
Decide who gets the stuff, write it down somewhere, when I get back we cut to fairhill.

Okay, sounds like everyone is mostly satisfied with the loot distribution. Here are the final tallies for your viewing pleasure.
Damien : Cloak of Resistance +1, light steel shield, 5 tindertwigs, mirror, 5 spikes
Kevezyat : Mwk Longbow, Ring of Protection +1,
Samduc : Potion of invisibility, Potion of CLW, Mwk Thieves's tools
Vhillish : Potion of CLW
Janna : Scroll of Dispel Magic, Potion of CLW
Jerrid : Mwk Thieves' tools, Potion of CLW
Leovan : Scroll of CLW x3, Mwk Light Crossbow,
Lucky 7 (Items to sell) : Mwk Quarterstaff, Mwk Leather Arm or, Mwk Dagger, Mwk Light Mace, Mwk thieves' tools, scale mail x3
Everyone : 2 days trail rations (Damien only gets 1)
Money : 437gp, 4 hematite gems (70gp total)
Let's worry about the money once we've sold everything.
I'll update everything to the spreadsheet tonight.
Let me know if there are any changes/you want to claim any of the remaining items. What's left is low value stuff so I say we just leave anything people don't claim.
Lastly, make sure you update your sheets if you got weapons/magic items.
Damien "Wet" Winters
Glad we're all in agreement. On that topic, I've finally gotten around to updating the spreadsheet. Should be up to date.
Sam, I remember we talked about it before the break but I can't remember, what are you doing with your excess equipment? At present you're well into a medium load.
Leo, whenever you have the time, let me know what you're grabbing from the Golden Palms? Thanks!
DM Grimmy
Not sure if you remember Leo, but we're long past being able to save the child. We would have been severely pressed for time even if we had left immediately. No going back now, unfortunately :(
How much time did the ritual take, 9 weeks or 9 months? I can't remember. I thought Leoven and Kevezyat wanted to go to the Stoneheart Mountain Dungeon to retrieve the Chalice of Elanir and the Stone of Tircople. I remember because I told the Valley of the Shrines party they better hurry up and loot the place because another party was putting the stone heart dungeon on their agenda lol.

Just went back and checked. It was nine days actually. Hence why we didn't think it was plausible. You said it was a 4-5 day trip each way...
