I'm liking this thing developing with Samduc pretending to be a little kid that follows Freya, and Kevezyat an actual paladin of Freya is onto him.
:) We'll see, won't we.

Has leo been invited to join us?
I havent seen anything to indicate this

Street Mage:
Prerequisites: 3 ranks in Spellcraft and Stealth, rogue
level 1st, arcane spellcaster level 1st
Benefit: Choose one arcane spellcasting class. Your caster
level for that class increases by one for each level in the
rogue class you possess, up to a maximum of 3 higher than
your actual spellcaster level. In addition, when you become
able to cast 3rd-level spells with an arcane spellcasting
class, your sneak attack damage increases by +1d6.
Special: If you have fewer than 3 rogue levels when you
take this feat, and later take additional rogue levels, your
caster level continues to increase. This increased caster
level only benefits the power of the spells you cast: for all
other purposes, such as qualifying for feats, your caster
level is still equal to your actual spellcaster level. This feat
has no effect on which spells you know or how many you
can cast per day.
How do you feel about this feat I just noticed on another recruitment thread? It might be an old 3.5E one - not sure. But it does kind of fit with Jerrid.
Janna - The Storm Maiden
Ok can we slow a bit...I am lost all of a sudden,
I thought only Jerrid went over to the formation.
(besides the fact that i entirely mis-read the description as to being a cave)
did Jerrid come back?
did everyone go over to the formation?
did anyone even talk to janna about what is going on?
does anyone even care?

Guys, don't get nervous about things flying by, every single thing we've down was represented in the written module as two paragraphs of boxed text hand-wavium fast travel :)
I'm just padding it out to let everyone get to know each other. (and get xp ;)
We haven't even reached the first encounter yet.
The knights, the gnolls, all generated by my own custom not-so-random encounter tables.
Deep breath :)
I won't let anything plot critical wiz by.

well considering Janna is a mage...(well sorcerer) it would have been nice to at least consult her before rushing off to get at it.
in fact someone even mentioned for Janna to take a look, but nope, lets just jump in and grab at it...
Janna - The Storm Maiden
It was exhilarating to reach the pace of face to face gaming for a moment in PbP.
yup, now that Janna is here, lets stop and I'll just make a post and wait...
then I'll play catch up again later.
DM Grimmy
Do you two have some history from another game or something :p
I don't get what this tension is about, we played out a scene that was just boxed text in a flurry of posts. No one got hurt, the party got treasure.
Be happy.
Edward maybe a fun thing would be if Janna brings it up with the gnome later like "by the way I never got to lend an eye to that pearl you found."
or something like that.
RP however you want but let's be civil and friendly guys! No drama.

I thought your last post was a perfect way to resolve the scene and move the story forward.

Point taken. I'll dial it down.
No history to my knowledge, DMG.
Janna - The Storm Maiden
no not really.
I'll just drop it.
but in the future if you want Janna to help with something, give her a chance to do so...
she will bring it up with him later...
and I have a rep of ending post flurries.
they always stop as soon as I post.
Janna - The Storm Maiden
I'm sorry Janna I got exited about how fast the posts were coming in. Call it an experiment.
We cool?
always have been cool.
also will be out on the road almost all day tomorrow, so since I won't be online, probably a great time for more posting flurries..

For the likes of perception, stealth and sense motive you could use another method I sometimes employ. Get everyone to roll and hand over a list of ten or twenty dice rolls. Then whenever you need a hidden check just use the next one on the list. Probably could do it for Initiative too.
When you run out (which will happen for the PCs using those skills alot) then just ask for another set.
Then rather than wait for some checks you can move along more smoothly. If this isn't something you want to do for this game, perhaps that faster paced one you are planning for later.

Lets see watched the Superbowl... then traditional day off today so I ease myself into the morning and flick on the lappie.. and BOOM!!!
Holy $*** - 45 in game posts!!!!????? and 23 here...
Need to catch up on what's went down! :S
FW's call of pre-rolls is good shout...

Perception is a ridiculously important skill. Looking at the party we have;
Janna +0
Kevezyat +3
Vhillish +4
Leveon +4
Damien +5
Samduc +7
Jerrid +10
By the way, I plan to take an owl or hawk familiar as part of my next level as a divination wizard. That and the Alertness feat will make him an early warning system.
Janna what schools should Jerrid prohibit to best complement your sorcerer?
Cheers

I hear ya FW... turned in with 5 to go. Seattle's D was mighty and as a team the stepped up massively.
Reminded me of the NFC's superbowl dominance of the mid 80s - 90s. Lopsided whippings :) Really enjoyed it though - am a Defensive football fan :)
Jerrid Kinslarn
Us Packers fans don't like to remember Chicago and that Defence. Or Niners. Now all the NFC have to beat those Seahawks to get to the Superbowl. That looks tough.
Vhillish Quarrelwick
Heh - split my loyalties between Steelers and Da Bears... Was a huge Urlacher fan (have a signed Bears "Monsters of the Middle" helmet with him, Singletary and Butkus. Beasts one and all.
Does look tough for anyone - think until the Bears ditch Cutler, return to a power running game and get a decent replacement for the Urbacker, then it'll be the Pack and Loins vying for North supremacy.
if Seattle can keep their roster intact - they will only get more of a swagger as champs. Very solid team.

My oh my, so damn many posts! Not a bad thing at all, except the little bit of tension of course.
I'll see about catching myself up on gameplay, then throw up something.
Edward, DMG is right, thanks for taking on your rather unusual character responsibilities!
As to the rest of you...Canadian football is better...

Dear God, with not being able to really check at all yesterday I missed a LOT! I'll try to catch up on what's been happening, but 90 posts in the gameplay is crazy! Go you guys!
Leoven.
Also important to figure out what each of you were sleeping in and had available. For instance I think picking up your shield + putting it on would take up all your actions Leovan, not to mention provoking.
I think you are right.

Surprise Round Initiative 12:
Spider wolf drops on sleeping Leoven, waking him up.
Does Kevezyat and Damien get a surprise round action?

Damn we're a chatty bunch :)
Hope the constant chipping in with rules pointers isn't misconstrued as being a pain - think we all have the games best intentions at heart, and I for one think the amount of us conversing/discussing is a very good sign for the longevity of both the game and synergy of the players :)
