Tybalt nods, his face still downcast. He pokes at the alarm clock and then appears out of his clothes and jewelry on the bed. His things simply lay on the floor as he doesn't bother to sort or fold any of them.

He's not trying to embarass Vai, he's just matter of fact...

"I..." Vai blushes furiously at that, whether or not it was intentional. She plucks a way wrong string at that point, and splutters, unable to make any coherent words. She hadn't even thought about whether or not the wishcraft would affect her... and she definitely hadn't thought about children yet.

"Hey there, Rena .. it's okay, relax. I'm not from these parts, is all, so I just didn't want there to be any trouble with us pulling a kid away from her parents. I kind of figured the authorities would get upset, you know? I've an idea-- uh," with a glance back towards the school, "why don't you head back to the school, quick? Like-- literally, fly in that directly, and you'll be there very quickly, like before, okay?"

He smiles adding, "I'll just hang out here with the kids until you get back, or send word. Promise."

"It's okay... you're right though. We probably shouldn't just whisk her away without her parent's permission. Okay, little one, stay here, I'm going to go get my friend that knows about these things, alright?" Rena rubs against Tryko'Sam - again similar to an affectionate cat, and then beats her wings rapidly, taking off towards the school at a decent pace...

And then she's there, instantly, just outside the school doors. How... it wasn't like being teleported. What...? Either way, she could use the arrows to find Vare now, assuming he was still on the grounds. She heads inside the school... and the arrows begin to guide her.

"Thank you, Headmaster." the oddly dressed man says cripsy, all business, and quickly exits the room, brushing past the other Professors present following the point of light... and in short order he spots the beautiful form of Rena's dreamscape shape barrelling down the hall towards him.

"What's wrong, Rena?!" Vare calls out to her over the distance, hurrying towards his friend as fast as possible... he had used his dimensional stepping ability too much and that magic was exhausted for the day.

Standing there with the little girl, Tryko'Sam smiled at her and says, "That's Rena. Maybe in time, your friend can do like she does-- she's really cool. I just met her today, like I met you."

With a charming smile he then looks around, making sure they weren't being scoped out or descended upon by some mob of angry 'anti-magic' idiots.

Thankfully, he knew what he had to do, which was wait until it was far too long to wait, and see to the girl's safety for now.

"Sure is beautiful weather tonight..." He says, not really expecting a response.

>> Genius. Nice chat line with a pre-teen there, meat-- <<

Suddenly, though, Tryko'Sam seemed to get a bit dizzy and staggered back, slumping against the wall, then staggering forward a few more steps, randomly, before stepping again a few more steps, falling forward into the alleyway with a bit of a lurch at the end of it.

Kerthunk and with that, a noise of wet and sickening fleshy bone shattering implications from within the alley, though nothing too loud, like a watermelon erupting. He twitched once or twice, or his boots he was wearing did, and then was still.

A moment or two after that, with a potent groan of pain and movement, he got to his knees and made a sound of 'waking' up.

"What the f%#~ was that-- g%@ d!&n it." He was still partially in the alleyway and not visible to the girl.

"Vare, I went with a student into town... there is a child there who has some sort of magical ability... I think she needs your help to figure it out.... where is Anahita?" Rena stops short... they had been together last time she had seen them. She examines her friend... something was wrong, she could tell just from how stiff Vare was holding himself.

"Are you OK mister?" The girl asks as she peeks around the corner.

"Ah... I see. Anahita... nevermind her for the moment." he says stiffly, obviously not wanting to talk about it. "Where is this little girl? In the town nearby? Alright... this is my last teleport Rena. Just so you know." Vare casts a quick spell, his hand on his feathered friend's wing, and the pair are just outside the town entrance.

"Where is she?" Vare says crisply, glad for the distraction from the disaster his evening had become. This was not going to be easy for him, he could already tell. The Dreamscape was chaotic with so many people around.

With his back to the little girl, Tryko'Sam is partially obscure by the poor moonlight, the shadows of the alley walls, etcetera.

With the sound of spitting and lifting his hand to his face, Tryko'Sam, still kneeling at this point, says, "Uh-- yeah, yeah, I'm okay, I fell down and hit my head. I don't want to spook you, little girl. There's some blood here. Just keep your eyes out for Rena, she said she'd be back shortly."

>> Great. What the hell just happened? There goes another new shirt until I can find a cleaner or something. Man-- I /just/ bought these duds. <<

The little girl could see Tryko'Sam pulling his shirt off and, apparently, from her view point of him kneeling there in the alley, wipe away at his face and head with the shirt.

"I'm just cleaning up here a bit... don't be scared. I'll be up shortly, just guard my back, okay?"

>> Guard your back, what a hair brained stupid-- zip it. <<

"Just a little ways into to town, I left her with the one I came here with." Rena says, somewhat urgently, rushing headlong into the town.

After a few moments, she rounds a corner and spots the child at the edge of the alleyway.

"There!" she cries enthusiastically, though she didn't see Tryko'Sam anywhere...

"OK." She pretends to look away.
1d20 ⇒ 3
She does a pretty bad job of trying to hide that she is watching him.
She sets the dog down and it walks a ways into the alley to not be seen.
She approaches Tryko'Sam and pulls a length of bandage put of her pocket. "Let me see it."
1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 1 = 16heal of course. If he allows it that is. :)
She does at least a decent job of helping him if he does allow it.

Vare jogs a bit to keep up with Rena as she rushes though the town, seeming a great deal more excited than Vare thought was really necessary - a child with magic powers... unless she was a powerful inborn sorcerer, she couldn't do much damage... well. If she was a Wilder, that could be a problem.

When Rena cries that she found them, Vare walks up behind the little girl... she seemed to be helping someone in the alleyway, but he couldn't be sure.

"Hello?" he says a little uncertainly.

Rena follows along beside Vare, peeking into the alley from over his head. "Hi!" she says genially. "I brought Vare. He can help."

"Oh its you. I was worried for a second. Mr.Tryko'Sam fell down." She says while examining him.

If she does sneak up onto the scene, she will see the following while Tryko'Sam is wiping his face and apparently, the top of his head.

  • He has a ton of blood and gore, around him, being wiped up.
  • He has no visible wounds.
  • He has a very, very, dirty shirt.

I'm not quite sure what her talents are in, but if she has any medical knowledge, there's a s*&& ton of blood, and no wound. He looks perfectly okay. The gore is made up of various little bits of spongy soft flesh, kind of pink/grey, and there are some bone bits too.

"Oh, hey-- no no, that's okay, honey-- I..." he doesn't quite stop her, as much as, sigh heavily when she examines him. He doesn't need healing, he needs a bath.

Looking at her with a partially cleaned face, though there is still blood and such on it, drying up, he smiles and then looks back, seeing new people.

>> Wow, now that's what a wizard looks like... <<

Tryko'Sam waves at Vare. "Hey there, are you Vare? Hello Rena. That was quick. Damn quick." He grins at the pair while the girl stands nearby.

Vare, as always with his particular condition, doesn't seem to fix anywhere which would be considered acceptable for normal conversaiton - no eye contact is the most disturbing thing. He seems to be averting his eyes ever so slightly from Tryko'Sam especially though.

"Yes, I am Vare. Hello. Tryko'Sam? Pleasure to meet you. Teleportation makes it easy to be quick about things." he says matter-of-factly. He doesn't seem to notice any of the gore in the scene.

"What is your name, little one?" he says, but again the aim of his eyes seems to be off, staring a good foot over the girl's head.

He does seem to flinch occasionally, or duck or sidestep without seeming cause.

"I was able to-" Whatever Rena was about to say is cut off as the scent of blood reaches her nose, and her hackles rise quickly. She quickly examines her friend, and tries to shove her huge body into the alleyway to get closer to Tryko'Sam. "Are you alright Tryko'Sam?!!!" she cries, extremely worriedly. No hands though, and so she seems to poke him gently with her snout, trying to ensure that he's okay.

"Eww." She says while looking over the area. "Can you stand up?"
She tries her little girl best to help him up out of his bodily fluids.
"You should talk like that. Those aren't nice words." She says as sternly as a seven year old can manage.

Springing to his feet, while not slamming the little girl in doing so, Tryko'Sam smiles warmly and puts the dirty shirt he had been using as a towel behind his back. He's a gory mess, stemming mostly from his upper forehead, or top of head.

The little girl did help though, which he initially smiled to, though it was a slightly pained smile of some sort.

He looks, otherwise, perfectly healthy.

"Yeah, hey-- nice to meet you. So, here you go. Girl does magic-- has a friend she can summon. Do you see that tattoo on her head? Maybe that's what does it?"

He tries to be helpful, smiling and being friendly-- hoping the little girl pays attention to the nice spell caster with the robes, and not himself.

To both the little girl and Rena, he says, "Whoa now.. easy there, I'm fine, really... wow, friendly-- hey ... heh, that tickles, the feathers... hahaha..."

>> Wow, she's friendly! Guess I made a buddy, cool. What did that little girl-- whaaaa! Ticklish, hold it in. <<

Vare looks confused a moment, especially at Rena's reaction. Vare doesn't seem to see the gore, or at least doesn't recoil in a way that most normal humans might at that much blood.

"Tattoo on her forehead?" Vare asks suddenly, his attention turning to the little girl. "And you have a friend? Do they have a tattoo on their forehead too?" he asks, clearly knowing something of what the girl was doing.

Rena seems satisfied with her brief inspection, especially if Tryko'Sam was laughing, and she withdraws the ticklish snout. "What happened?! Why are you all bloody?" she asks, still sounding worried despite the fact that he appears to be completely fine. Most of her bulk is still sticking out into the street, something of an amusing/terrifying sight for anyone who walks by.

Still chuckling a slight bit, since the snout had touched his bare chest, Tryko'Sam says, "Nah nah.. I'm fine. I .. blacked out, which was odd, and then -- oh, uh, fell down and hit my head, I suppose."

He motions-- there's no 'head injury' spot, but there's a dark alleyway and a puddle of his blood and 'bits', on the ground somewhat into the alley, where he indicates, vaguely.

Given the darkness though, of the time and place, it's hard to see very well without Darkvision or something else.

"Thanks, though, Rena. Good job partner." He smiles again at Rena.

"Ignace a bag would be wonderful. You spoil me you know that." She teased as she started sparating the cloths she liked from disliked.

"Hai, I like that idea. I don't want the boys to feel excluded though." Midori says, perhaps sounding a little stressed about it as she turns away and begins to disrobe. Her fingers stung as she did so, the burns from Ignace more painful than she had originally anticipated. She hides the pain though, turned away from the other two as she is, and quickly folds the yukata in quick, precise, but delicate motions.

Just as quickly, she begins to dress herself in the clothing which had been thrown by the wayside in her haste to try on the yukata. "I guess we can spend some time with them tomorrow, Zilla-chan, then they won't feel left out, ne?"

"Is that... normal? And you're okay? You don't seem hurt but... you're covered in blood. Vare?" She glances at her wizardy friend, though makes no other motion towards or away from anyone, seemingly content to hover some 7 feet off the ground, with her head slightly lower, on eye-level. "Can you help clean him up?"

At the word 'partner', Rena looks back at him quizically, though the expression is likely unreadable. "No problem, Tryko'Sam. I like helping people."

If Tryko'Sam allows it, Vare will cast a prestidigitation to clean him up. Heading out for an hour or so!

"Ya she has one too."
She turns toward the alley way.
"Mikaylaaaa." She calls softly.
The patchwork dog trundles down the way about as quick as it's short little legs will carry it.
She lifts the small dog and tries to put it directly in Vare's ever changing line of sight.
"See?"
When the dog is close to Vare muffled sounds can be heard coming from it's stuffed animal type muzzle.

"I see." Vare says, though who knows if he actually does. "Your friend there is called an eidolon. It is nothing to be concerned over. Why don't you take me to your parents. I can teach you a few things, I think, about how to care for her." Vare makes a sweeping motion with his hand indicating that the little girl should lead the way. "Don't worry, I can help you."

Vare's got all the Knowledge (Arcana) you could ever ask for in this regard. ;)

Before leaving, Vare will clean off Tryko'Sam of all the gore with a quick spell, (assuming Tryko'Sam doesn't attempt to resist the magic). It's all swept off in a few moments, leaving Tryko'Sam clean as a veritable whistle, even the formerly blood-drenched shirt. "Rena, be safe." he says warmly, searching with a hand much like a blind man might, and then stroking her just behind her head, which earns a purring kind-of noise from the large snake-like creature.

Unless the child objects, the wizard and her make their way down the street.

She hugs Rena and the freshly cleaned Tryko'Sam. "Thank you." :)
She begins to lead. "What if they don't like her. We don't have any magic at home." She seems very concerned over this.

Miklos follows the glowing arrows until he reaches a large double door with the legend, Armory carved in it in Common. He opens it and finds a large suite of rooms.

The entry room seems to be set up as a traditional sit-down classroom with a large slate board on one wall and a lecturer's podium.

Miklos opens one of two doors leading off the classroom. Within is a large open training area set with various blades, targets and various training implements. He closes it and moves to the other.

The second door opens into a large forging area. The forge is warm, but banked. Some strange equipment is stacked nearby. A large anvil stands ready, as does every tool a smith could want. A stairway leads upwards in this room.

Miklos climbs the stairs which end in a landing with two more doors. Opening the first, he sees a large alchemy lab with and extensive rack of glassworks and a wall of bottled chemicals neatly labeled. He shuts the door and moves to the final door.

The farther door opens to reveal a roomy parlor. A large circular table stands on one side, bracketed by a dozen chairs. A large fire roars in a hearth equipped with bread ovens and a spit. Cabinets line one wall, while tapestries cover any stonework left. A door sits on the far wall.

Miklos opens this door and reveals a large bedroom. Some sort of odd garderobe room can be seen through an open door on one side, all tile, mirrors and strange ceramic fixtures. The bedroom itself is dominated by a massive bed that looks soft as sin.

Miklos grins, and lays his duffel on the floor. He strips, revealing a complicated fractal tattoo running down the length of his body from skull to heel, mostly concentrated on his back. Patches of oddly-colored skin dot his dull grey hide like bits of lichen on an ancient glacial granite boulder.

He hangs his uniform up in the room's roomy closet, and pulls on a shirt of homespun and a pair of soft linen pants. He slips a pair of odd toed slippers on his massive grey-colored feet.

After changing, he descends to the practice area and performs several hours of martial arts exercises. The practice area has a set of odd iron weights in one corner, and he acquaints himself with their use.

I could get to like it here He thinks

Vare is no master of calming people down, that much should be apparent, but he does have an air of intelligence and perhaps even mysticism about him, and he's much more normal-looking now without the scruffy beard. His hair is still a mess, though. "I believe I can explain it to them. I can keep Mikayla safe, at least. How does that sound?"

It would be immediately obvious to Vare that Tryko'Sam has /no/ idea what he means when gesturing and hand motioning near him, and initially, the spell aborts due to his inherent unconscious resistance.

Once quickly explained, Tryko'Sam is all, "Oh, s**+, sure." Boom-- ignorance is dispelled as easily as the blood and gunk off his shirt. He is clearly /very/ impressed.

Pulling his shirt back on, he nods and then is hugged, patting the girl on the head and waving to Vare. "Nice meeting you, Mister Wizard, you be safe-- shout, or ... something, if you need help." A hint of paranoia or concern on Tryko'Sam's part.

Looking back at Rena he says, "Well now, that's a good pairing we make, huh? Teamwork for the win." He's talking Common, it's just odd word patterns, really.

"You wanna try find some ice cream or something? I'm feeling like dessert." That said, he's walking back towards the main part of the town, abandoning the alley and 'magical' issues with ease.

Sorry for the rushed post, running late as it! XD

"For.. the.. win?" Rena asks, clearly not understand what Tryko'Sam was trying to get at with that strange saying, but she's popped out of the alley, the pair of them having returned to the street proper, and Rena has resumed her role of the submissive companion/pet/thing.

That said, he starts walking again towards the main part of town, looking about for food merchants or restaurants.

"Imagine, milk, sugar, some tasty ..fat stuff, and flavors of vanilla, or chocolate-- all cooled to nearly frozen, that melts when put into your mouth, turning into a delicious creamy treat. That's ice cream."

He walked along, twirling once to walk backwards with her following, a grin on his face, before turning again to speak.

"The trick of it though, is you need to keep it nearly frozen-- so, I'm not sure that's happening here. Depends on the town's tech level, I suppose."

Then, he points, "Ah ha-- that's a tavern looking place, and ... well, maybe they have something." He glanced back to gauge her size, and whether or not she'd fit through the doors while walking over.

Various people on the street, being evening now, seem to give them both a wiiiiiiide breadth.

there are all sorts of clothes and nick-knacks in there. she hangs up some of her old dresses that she wore when she was singing with Dom.

she finds an old parchment folded up. unfolding it there is a charcoal sketch of her and Dom when they were younger

she also finds a a copper heart shaped Fob watch. with a broken latch

eventually she find her old diary. placing all of her clothes away and setting the picture on the desk. Melody lays on her bed and starts to read. reminiscing about her childhood.

she reads about some fights she had with Dom even one entry where she swore she would never ever speak to him again. she starts to laugh at that one.

I knew I would never keep that promise

finally she gets to the last written page. penned only a few days ago. describing her big escape plan. and how she couldn't wait to be together with Dom.

turning the page once more, the page was blank, Is my life so empty now? she glances to the desk seeing the wood carving Kai gave her.
she smiles no it isn't! she grabs a pen and settles back on the bed.

Dear diary, I had the most incredible day, I met a boy unlike any boy I've ever met before...

Melody continues on describing her date with Kai...

Grinning at Rena while her head is at his eye level, he says simply, "Oh, you might very well love this stuff... come on."

Rena was so far happy with the reaction of the townsfolk. No one had threatened her or scream or run off... at least that she'd noticed. She was in a great mood, bobbing along happily at Tryko'Sam's side. "Maybe they have magic that can keep it near frozen?" Rena offers hopefully, though when she sees the door she looks questionably back at her bulk. "I'm... not going to fit in there am I?" she says, the good mood not gone, but she sounds a little subdued at that.

"It sounds delicious though... maybe we can ask some people where we can get some? Um... you better do the asking though." Rena tries again, not wanting the mood to be dampened too much.

"Uh-- yeah, why don't you hang here, real quick-- I should be able to see you from within, and I'll get you something tasty. Do you like alcohol?"

He's already moving as he goes on in. Looking back to see if she can reply before he gets fully inside.

"If you say so. . . . ."
They eventually arrive at her house. "Momma I need to talk to you about something. . . ."
That's really all I got. We can fade out here if you want.
If we do go with that the sum of it is: Her parents are freaked out at first. Vare explains what it is. They eventually become OK with it and ask Vare if he could teach her about it some time. We can play all that out if you want but I think people want to move on. :)

Bah! Vare vaporizes them and enslaved the little girl to be his assistant! MUahahahahaa... soon his child army of Eidolon summoners will rule the galaxy! Take that Dragon Empire!

"Um... I've never tried alcohol, but sure! I can give it a try! I'll just wait... here." she sounds a little hesitant at that last, but tries to smoosh herself down to the ground and out of the way of the main traffic of the town as much as possible. "Don't be too long!" she calls after him as he goes though the door.

None of the townsfolk are too keen to go near her really, again giving that wide berth. At least she wasn't being called a monster.

Ace kisses Ginni back, a passionate, loving kiss. After a while he breaks "Perfect end to an amazing evening. Want me to walk you back to your room?"

Regardless of her answer, he will eventually make his way over to the firebird refugee camp and look for High Seer Denulia.

It didn't take too long, and Tryko'Sam was coming back out, with two large drink containers of ..well, not cold ice cream, sadly, but, hot chocolate goodness with Irish mint Schnapps in it-- or the equivalent.

"Okay-- this isn't too strong, I don't think, but... it's chocolate and some minty booze schnapps stuff.. try it." He holds the mug so she can sip or whatever, not rushing her, while sipping his own.

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

As Ace makes his way through the camp, the elves and the firebirds seem to be just finishing up. Most of the shelters are setup, and there appears to be a great deal of bonfires set up around the camp. Despite the pleasant late-summer evening, many of the firebirds are crowding around the fires for warmth, and some of the smaller children are shivering despite their closeness to the fire.

The High Seer appears to be having a conversation with another elf - an older male, perhaps fifty or so years older than the High Seer herself, with long flowing blonde hair and piercing grey eyes - about the strategy for keeping the camp supplied going forward. The High Seer notices Ace, with a slight raising of one eyebrow as her eyes pass over the horns and wings he seems to have recently acquired.

Rena's head perks up as Tryko'Sam returns, carrying the steaming mugs. She sniffs curiously at the proffered drink, though her lips don't exactly lend to easy sips. Instead she flicks out her tongue - which is surprisingly not forked despite her serpentine nature - and her eyes light up.

"Ohhh... that is wonderful!" she says, apparently as giddy as schoolgirl.

A few more hungry flicks of the tongue and she seems to be unsatisfied with the delivery mechanism... but can't think of a way to improve it. "Hmm. How can we make this more... do you have any ideas?" of course, she completely forgot any preamble in her excitement, and if Tryko'Sam isn't able to understand what she's getting at, that would be completely understandable.
